Happy Friday everyone! Today is week 9 day 5 of the P90X program which means it's a "legs and back" day. I really like this workout and between this and the Plyometrics dvd I can really see definition in my quads and beginning to see some in my inner thighs. I can only imagine the type of results I would receive if my eating would be cleaner. Overall the eating is good but I know it's not as clean as it should especially b/c I have a horrible sweet tooth that's not always easy to overlook. I'm a work in progress and this is a lifestyle change so I'm sure I'll get better over time.

Nola: Way to rock out the Plyometric workout even if it was only half of it. I am sure you felt pretty good about being able to last longer than your bf....that really shows how far along you've come. You may not be at your goal weight yet but you're definitely healthier than you would be if you didn't make better food selections and workout. Great job, keep it up.

Dawna: Enjoy your weekend w/the hubby and family and friends. Whatever you all decide to do i'm sure you'll find a way to get a workout in.

I'm laying low tonight b/c I have to get up early tomorrow to meet my girlfriend and help her decorate for her hubby's surprise 40th birthday party. Then I'll come home and chill out before getting dressed and heading to the party later that evening. I'll probably spend the rest of the weekend packing for my upcoming trip to Philly. I haven't seen my aunt in 2 years and we have nice plans for this July 4th holiday.

hi ladies! YAY Its the freakin weekend! Yippee! I've got my workout clothes packed for the trip. I couldn't get myself up and out of bed by 5am this morning, so I just got up at 6 to finish packing and cleaning before we had to leave. I just didn't have time and last night I was up until midnite. But, I'm not too worried about it. I did bring my running clothes to either get a Turbo Kick workout in, or to go for a run on Saturday morning. We're going to an amusement park on Saturday so I'll get a lot of walking in, and it will be great. I did run into a problem last night. Since its finally warm enough to wear shorts I got out all my shorts and started trying on outfits. All my shorts are huge on me, and I cant seem to find a belt that doesn't need new holes. So, at first I was frustrated, but my husband reminded me that its a good sign, haha. I just hate shopping right now because we don't have the money to do so. But, he said this is a "need" so I'll be on the lookout for some new shorts to wear this weekend. I'm on the lookout for some cute, comfy and stylish bermuda shorts- those are my favorite. I like capris, but not when I'm outside a ton. I'm excited for some sun on these legs!

Last night I rocked the workouts. I did 60 minutes of Chalene Johnson's Burn Intervals. Its a HIIT where you do 3 minutes of intense, super hard cardio followed by 1-2 minutes of continuous strength training repetition using lighter weights. Its a killer, but I love it. I'm looking at getting the Turbo Fire down the road, but I'm gonna have to save up some money first. I'll probably really want it closer to winter time when I can't go running outside anymore. I love Chalene Johnson's programs, she rocks!

    Have a great weekend ladies!

Porterbaby- way to show the scale who's boss! Nice job!

Choco- have a fun time at the party! You are doing so great at your workouts and the improvement you've shown has proven that you have done so much to make this a lifestyle change! Way to go!

Good afternoon everyone! This will be a quick post b/c I have to begin getting dress for a surprise birthday party I'm attending later. Since I'm responsible for helping the dj get set up I have to arrive an hour and a half before the rest of the guests which doesn't leave me much time.

Today is week 9 day 6 of the P90X program and I was able to squeeze in the Cardio X dvd b/c I just didn't have enough time to do the scheduled Kenpo X workout. In addition to this workout I helped my girlfriend clean and decorate the venue for this evening's surprise party. The cleaning and decorating took about 3 hours and my body is really sore.

Surprise party was a HUGE success. Her hubby had absolutely no idea about the party and the look on his face when we yelled surprise was PRICELESS! He's not from GA so his family from his hometown were able to drive in for the event and it everyone had a blast. I am more sore this morning than I was yesterday after cleaning and decorating. In addition to being a guest she asked myself and few others to assist serving food and drinks as well as to stay after to clean. So I spent a total of 6 1/2 hours in 4 inch heels (stilletto). Overall the shoes were very comfortable but after standing and dancing (definitely got the groove on) in them for so long my calves and feet began to ache.

Today will be a stretching day so I can be prepared for week 10 of P90X.

Good morning and Happy Monday! This will be a short work week for me b/c we celebrate Independence Day on Friday and I'm heading to PA to hang out w/my auntie on Thursday. The packing is just about completed for this trip but I do need to hit the mall today in order to purchase a pair of silver stilettos b/c we are going on an All White Harbor Cruise this Saturday and I need some sandals. I don't like how white shoes/sandals look so silver is going to have to do. These sandals are super sexy. They are strappy w/a 4 1/2 inch heel. I will have a back up pair of shoes too b/c I'm sure I wont want to stand/dance in them for 5 hours. I would have purchased them yesterday when i went to the mall but how about I tried them on, loved them and headed to the counter to pay only to realize I forgot my wallet at home :embarassed:  :embarassed: I had forgotten to switch wallets from Saturday night so I had no id, insurance card, debit or credit card and NO CASH.

Today is week 10 (I can't believe I've stayed w/the program and only have 2 more weeks left, excluding recovery week) day 1 of the P90X program which means it was a chest, shoulders and tricep day. I absolutely HATE the push ups in the routine. I still can't complete the one hand push ups, I'm still struggling with the clap and one arm balance push ups. I'm so happy to know that I only have to complete this routine one more time and that's in week 12.

Good morning everyone. Although I am working from home this week we are under another deadline so I've been working very long hours and which has made getting up in the morning to exercise one difficult task. Today I procrastinated so long I couldn't complete the scheduled P90X workout but still did work up a great sweat.

Today is week 10 day 2 of the P90X program which means it's all about Plyometrics. As I just stated I couldn't complete the scheduled workout b/c it's just too long and I had to get busy with the work assignment so I substituted the workout w/the Insanity Plyometrics Cardio Circuit workout. Boy did I forget how that program really kicks your butt. The level 1 drills, ski abs and in and out abs are pure torture at such a crazy pace.

Porterbaby: Don't overdo it. I understand the desire to stay busy but have some fun also. What do you like to do for fun?

honestly choco,i really don't know. because when i was in ohio, that's all i ever did was work. family businesses. but now that i have a whole new life. that what i do still. actually i like looking at clothes and trying them on, i don't party. i don't have any friends here. my man doesn't party either. he rather watch tv and be on the computer. durning the fall and winter, he goes hunting. so i just do my own thing.

    hi ladies!
well my weekend was quick and eventful! i didn't get my workouts in, but i wasn't too worried with all the walking, hiking, and swimming we did! It was a fun filled weekend. Last night I was wiped out from the weekend apparently, because I fell asleep around 7:30pm, and didn't wake up until 6am this morning! It was crazy. I wasn't even trying to fall asleep, I was just relaxing reading a book while the hubby did his homework. Tonight I am hoping to get a nice jog in. I might have to wait until a little later, but that is ok by me! I was originally going to get up early this morning to run, but since I fell asleep so early I didn't get a chance to re-set my alarm clock. Oh well. I'm slightly worried about my Half Marathon because tonight will be the first night I've been able to run in about 2 weeks, since I pulled my hamstring. I've been able to do other exercises (strength training, bicycle, kickboxing, HIIT, etc) just not running since it was too much strain on my hamstring. So I hope that it goes ok and that I can pick up where I left off. I'm making a delicious orange chicken stir fry tonight using some fresh mandarin oranges. Yummmm!

Choco- way to get that workout in, as always, you are amazing with those workouts! I've been wanting to try Insanity, but I'm waiting to see if I can find anyone that has it so I can borrow it and test it out. I'm thinking about getting Turbo Fire probably sometime this winter. I'll need something to spice up my workouts after the marathon. I've heard its pretty good....but I'm still wanting to check out Insanity too. Have a fun trip this weekend!

Porterbaby- As far as what choco asked about what you like to do for fun... what about joining a volunteer type group in your community? I know that many towns, both small and large have certain volunteer groups. Maybe there's something that sparks your interest that you could particpate in, and I'd bet you'd meet some new friends too! Also, if you are religious you could try to get to know people in your church and see if they have any weekday activities or service projects and you could meet people that way! What about learning how to sew? You said you love trying on clothes, what about learning how to sew clothes that fit your personal style? Just some suggestions...I know being in a new town with new people can sometimes be hard. Are you still working for your family business?

no the family business was in ohio. we have three motels , we did have four, but my sister-in-law and brother sold theirs. plus my parents have alot of rental properties. but since my parents are divorce. they divide them in half. i don't go to church. plus i don't know if there is any activites around this small town. as in sewing i just did that in school i've never really actually done that. i appreicate everyone's help.

Good morning and happy Wednesday to all. Yesterday was another long work day. I was able to complete 3 of the 4 parts of the work assignment but it took me until a little after 8 pm. I hope to complete the assignment today but unsure since I have a 5:30 pm hair appointment. It's days like these that make me soooo happy that I'm morning person and am able to get the workout in before the workday begins b/c there's no way I would be exercising consistently if I'm not done w/work until late in the evening.

Today is week 10 day 3 of the P90X program which means it's a strength training day. I completed the Back and Bicep workout and can still feel the burn even as I type this post. I can't lie the hard work is paying off in this area b/c I do have bicep and back muscles that are clearly noticeable. My beautician recently complimented me on my arms......She said I looked like I was getting "Michelle Obama" arms and in my opinion her arms ROCK so I took it as a compliment.

    Good morning ladies!
I got off to a good start this morning. I FINALLY resisted the urge to hit the snooze button this morning and was able to get an early morning jog in. I did about 4.5 miles, and it felt wonderful to be up before the busy day started. It was great with the light breeze and the silent streets, made for an awesome jog. I didn't realize how bright it actually is at 5am! Dang! Not like my early morning winter gym sessions when I was arriving and leaving the gym in the dark. I'm hoping now that my workout it out of the way that I can get some laundry done and the house cleaned before we leave again for the weekend. I love getting away, but there's always a week of recovery after a trip. I'm hoping I can do maybe some Pilates or Yoga tonight to help stretch out my muscles a little more, and thinking about doing some more ab workouts. Have a great day all!

Porterbaby- you're welcome for the suggestions. just trying to help out so you don't get too burned out from too much exercise!

Well I'm nowhere near being ripped but I hoped to get there sooner than later. I really have to begin dedicating myself to some ab work b/c that's the one area that really suffers. The P90X program incorporates ab work in 3x a week but I have no desire to complete it after doing 60 minutes of the main workout. I really wished they had made the main workouts 45 minutes and left the last 15 minutes for abs. I told myself I was going to begin focusing on this area once I return from my trip to Boston. I go to Philly this weekend then Boston the weekend of July 15th. After the Boston there are no more trips planned until tentatively labor day when I'm going to try to hit NYC.

Great job getting up early and getting the workout out of the way.

yahoo! i was able to get up at 5am again today to get my workout in. it works out nice to get up, get some water, get dressed and then get all ready for my jog/workout. today i decided to take another run and then take a day off running on Friday, and hit the pavement again on Saturday while at the in-laws. it was beautiful this morning- clear skies- and a beautiful sunrise. Plus, there is such a nice breeze, and since I'm in "mountainous desert" climate, its very cool in the mornings/evenings. So, it was perfect at 55-60 this morning for a run. I also hope that getting into the habit again will help me shave off some more weight. *Fingers crossed*

    Have a great Thursday!

Good afternoon everyone! I'm posting later than usual because I had to submit one work assignement and begin working on another. I'm happy to report that my clothes are packed, hair looks great, nails and toes are done and the boarding pass is printed, I'M READY for departure, so, watch out PA b/c here I come.....LOL. My flight isn't until later this evening but I'm ready to go right now. I haven't seen my aunt in about 2 years so I'm really looking forward to hanging out w/her. Since we are so close in age we have a lot in common and always enjoy ourselves when we get together. We are kicking off the holiday weekend w/a nice walk or jog tomorrow morning followed by breakfast and a drive into the city to do some shopping. Later she's hosting a fish fry and Saturday night is the boat ride. I'm unsure what the rest of the weekend will entail but really looking forward to it.

Today is week 10 day 4 of the P90X program and I really rocked out the Kenpo X workout today. Since I wont be home for the next few days I'm really not sure what I'll be doing for exercise but the good thing is my aunt doesn't mind working out so I'm hopeful to get something in everyday.

Dawna: I'm glad you're getting in the routine of getting up in the morning. If it's possible it really is good knowing that no matter what else happens in your day the workout is done and accounted for.

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday! I left GA last night around 10:30 pm and arrived in PA 2 hours later. My aunt and I stayed up until about 4:30 am talking, laughing and getting caught up and now our day has officially begun. In order to ensure I got in a workout today she and I power walked around her neighborhood and park for about 40 minutes. Now we're are back and about to eat and head to the city to do some shopping.

I hope everyone has a great workout and a wonderful day.

    Good morning ladies!
I rocked out with some kickboxing this morning along with ChaLean Extreme. It feels so good once I'm done, wow! I was happy to be able to do the pushups at the end of the segment all on my toes. My upperbody lacks in strength compared to my lower half, so I've been trying to work hard at being able to do "real" pushups and not the girly ones. I've been improving over time, trying to do more and more "real" ones, then get to my knees when it starts to get tough. But, I was very pleased this morning. Its especially hard to do them at the very end of the 40 minute workout.

I'm excited to get out of town tonight and spend some time with family. It seems like we just got home, but I don't mind having a busy summer. I'm hoping at the end of the summer I'm not thinking "wow, that went fast" but "wow, we sure had some fun". So, we're just trying to keep it budget friendly and enjoying the weather, family, friends & food.

Choco- glad you made it safely! Have a great time with your aunt and do a little shopping for me :)

Porterbaby- keep fighting through the TOM, drink lots of water, and eat healthy and hopefully you'll be right where you left off once it leaves!

Have a great weekend ladies!! Be safe!

Good afternoon everyone and happy pre-fourth of July. My day ended late last night b/c my aunt had a fish fry w/some of her girlfriends and I truly enjoyed myself. We stayed up laughing, talking and eating and yes I did get my eat on. I had no regrets about anything that went into my mouth yesterday b/c I really felt as if I deserved to indulge just a little.

I went to sleep around 1:30 am and was up by 6:30 am so that my aunt and I could meet her church choir for their weekly Saturday walk. We walked/jogged for approximately 40 minutes before ending w/a nice stretch and prayer. Once we left her church group we hit her gym to continue the workout. I warmed up on the elliptical for 15 minutes before completing a leg, back and ab routine. I tried to remember all the moves from the P90X dvds and improvised whenever necessary. I'm really happy my aunt enjoys working out too b/c it has made getting in some type of exercise a lot easier.

Dawna: Great way to rock out both of those workouts and you have a great time w/the hubby and family this weekend. Be safe out there.

Porterbaby: Don't let the TOM win.....fight back.....fight back.

Nola: Glad to know you haven't given up on us. Can't wait to see you back as a regular force again.

Everyone have a great day and weekend.

Good afternoon everyone! My exercise for today is complete. My aunt and I walked 45 minutes around her mom's neighborhood in the PA mountains and then the entire family went to the community center where we did an hour of water aerobics. The water aerobics class was Awesome and b/c there was not as much pressure on the joints I really tried to give it my all. We did lunges, squats, jumping jacks, high knees, front kicks, side kicks, back kicks, high jumps, bicep curls w/the floating device as resistance, tricep dips w/the floating device as resistance and crunches. It was an AWESOME workout and I'm sure I'll feel it in every part of my body later.

    Good morning ladies!
Hope ya'll had a great weekend! From the sounds of it, everyone had a great time! I was able to get my exercises in this weekend, it felt great. Its always fun to run in unfamiliar territory, it makes the running go by so much faster! I got an 8 mile run in on Saturday and it felt great. I didn't feel like I was pulling a plow behind me, which is how I felt the first few days coming back fro my injury. I took a rest day on Sunday and spent time with the family. We did go for a nice little bike ride and we played some badmitton but I didn't "log" it as exercise, although I probably should have. At the end of Sunday when I was loggin in all my food for the day I realized that I definitely could've made some better choices, but oh well. I don't eat bad foods very often so it was kind of fun to indulge and not really worry about it. I made up for it on Monday with another long run of 6 miles and I ate SUPER clean on Monday. Tonight I have an Ultimate Frisbee tournament so I didn't get up early to exercise since I'll burn close to 1000 calories tonight if we play all 3 games in a row. Crazy! But, it should be good. Hope you all have a great day!
