Good evening everyone! I really feel out of the loop b/c I never post this late but my job has me hopping this week. We have a new hire and I have been assigned as her mentor which requires a lot of behind the scenes work preparing for her arrival on top of my regular work duties. I apologize in advance for not responding to any posts but I am still as work as I type this and have a ton of work that still needs to be done. Please charge my lack of response to my busy schedule and not my heart since I would love to read how everyone is doing on their workouts and day to day activities.

    Good Morning ladies!

Yesterday was a good day. I woke up early hoping to get a run in, and of course, its raining- almost so cold it was snowing. Ugh! So, rather than go for my run I did some aerobics in the livingroom. Then last night I got home and decided to do some strength training so I did a phase of ChaLean Extreme. Love the program! After my workout I rushed to get ready for a volunteer & service organization that I am the "President" of. It's basically a society for all women to provide relief, give service where needed, learn how to strengthen our families, and build strength in our faith. Last night's class was on learning how to cook while being more aware of our nutrition and health and budget. The teacher taught us cool ways to be more healthy with our cooking and gave some pretty great tips. I love the organization, but I just sometimes feel a little stressed out in the leadership position I'm in. Its not something I get paid for, its more church related, and something that I was asked to do- so its not permanent, but I've been at it for about 2 years. But, I stress myself out sometimes because I want everything to be perfect. I've grown a lot in this position, and have learned how to delegate a lot. Its been a great growing and learning experience.

Last night I was checking my emails and noticed that a lot of my favorite places have their swimsuits going on sale and things. I was starting to get bummed. Back in February I was SOOO looking forward to sporting a new swimsuit with my new body, but I honestly don't think I will have much of a summer. It hasn't reached above 67 degrees, and next week the days will already start getting shorter. I've tried to be patient with this weather, and maybe I'm just more bitter about it because I don't want to be living here, and the only reason we're here is for school....but I really have tried. When it snowed last weekend when we were camping I tried REALLY hard to stay positive! The thing that is hard for me is that a lot of my most favorite things to do all occur outdoors, and especially since I am on a tight budget. All winter long all we do is rent movies, and I'm just sick of sitting on the couch watching movies. I want to be outside already! But, with winds at over 20 mph, and temps in the 40s-50s, it makes being outside miserable. Okay, end of my little rant--- can I come visit ya'll!!!?!??! hahaha.

So, ladies..... let's chat. I'm curious to know some more things about ya!

    1) At this very moment, what would you choose to eat, without thinking of calories?
    2) What is your favorite activity to do in your free time?
    3) If you had to watch the same movie over and over, what would it be?
    4) What is your favorite fruit?
    5) What kind of car do you drive?

    I'll start:
    1) For lunch I would love to have a Cafe Rio salad. yumm!
    2) My favorite activity in my free time would be to be outside playing sports/games
    3) For some reason I just love the movie the Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez, and 27 Dresses, I could probably watch those movies over and over.
    4) cantelope
    5) Honda civic

Once again the work day was very hectic which is why I'm posting so late today. Our supervisor has given us a deadline to finish reading all of our cases by next Wednesday and in all honesty I don't think we're going to make it. I stayed late yesterday but couldn't do it today b/c I'm exhausted and tomorrow we're furloughed so no work. It is days like these that makes me thankful that I'm a morning person and have been consistent w/completing my workouts prior to work b/c there's no way I would be hopping/jumping around like a crazy person after a long day of work.

Today is week 8 day 4 of the P90X program and I was suppose to complete the stretch X dvd but I switched it out for the Cardio Recovery dvd of the Insanity program.

Dawna: There's nothing wrong with wanting things to turn out perfect, it tells me you take your position serious but one of the best qualities of a good leader is to delegate so i'm glad you've gotten better at that too.

    1. I wanted buffalo wings and curly fries today.
    2. Travel and spend time w/family and friends
    3. I have a ton of movies that I re-watched on a regular basis....The Best Man, Lean on Me, ATL
    4. Grapes (although I really like most fruit)
    5. Mitsubishi Galant

Good afternoon everyone! I hope everyone's day got off to a great start. Last night I was exhausted so I went to bed early but unfortunately was unable to sleep through the entire night. I awoke about 1 am and began watching tv and before I knew it it was 4:30 am and I had to be up by 7 am in order to complete today's workout and head to a 9 am meeting (non work related). Needless to say, when the alarm went off at 7 am I had no desire to crawl out of bed but I did and the workout is complete.

Today is week 8 day 5 of the P90X program so recovery week is almost over. I completed the Ab Ripper X and Stretch X dvd.

Happy, Happy Saturday all! I've been up since 4:30 am for no particular reason at all except I couldn't sleep. So at 4:30 I was searching the internet trying to put together my 2011 vacation. My aunt (only 2 years older than me) and I were discussing the possibility of taking a Mediterranean cruise next summer earlier in the day so I decided to do some preliminary work to see what it would cost. While the trip would be a little pricey I believe it would be well worth it. Since I've only cruised on Carnival I decided to check out Royal Caribbean and they have a 7 day cruise departing from Barcelona, Spain and going to the following ports: Provence, France; Nice, France; Florence/Pisa; Italy, Rome; Italy, Naples, Italy and one day at sea before returning to Barcelona. I really hope I can make this European vacation happen but of course it will depend on $$$$. Once I completed the research I decided to get up and get the workout in.

Today is week 8 day 6 of the P90X program which is suppose to be Yoga but you know the routine I switched it up w/another dvd. I decided to complete the Cardio Core & Balance dvd from the Insanity program. I really like this workout. Once the workout was complete, I made a very yummy banana and chocolate protein shake. I then showered and headed out the door to the mechanic so my car could be serviced. I have since returned home and realized that I accomplished a lot this morning and it's not even 9 am......LOL.

My car is still at the mechanic so I'll be laying low until this afternoon but once he brings the car back I'm suppose to head to a bbq.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I hope my 10 in 9 buddies return soon but I plan to continue posting my workouts until then...........I hope everyone is staying focused on their goals while still enjoying the weekend and the summer.

good morning ladies. i'm getting very frustrated, i weigh on that stupid scale and i can't get passed 165lbs. i was i 165lbs. but it goes back to 170's then goes back into 160's. i work my butt off everyday. i watch what i eat. each time i weigh myself for these challenges i gain each time. will today i'm doing zumba_ 20min express. and another kind of a workout that i got with that cellulite cream. plus i'll be working on the grass. finish cleaning house. probably go for a walk later at a near by park. i use those belts around my stomach so it will help tone my stomach, it seems like it's helping.

choco: i'm very proud of you sticking to p90x, i wish i could. i need to get back to doing it. good luck

Good afternoon everyone! I am posting late today b/c I've been one busy lady. My day began w/me getting the workout in at 7:30 this morning. This is my third week running on the streets of GA and it's not getting easier yet. I'll admit that today was not nearly as brutal as last week b/c there was a light breeze and it was not as humid. I was able to run the entire time and completed 2.5 miles in 23 minutes. Overall I'm happy w/my time considering i'm a newbie as it relates to running (especially on the street).

After showering and dressing I hit the grocery store to complete my weekly shopping, returned home and made dinner (spaghetti: ground turkey breast, whole wheat pasta and sauce w/green, red, yellow and orange peppers and a spinach salad). After making dinner I washed and folded clothes and ironed my clothes for the work week.

Now that everything is taken care of I can chill out for the remainder of the day.

Porterbaby: I know the numbers on the scale can be a huge source of frustration but just remember how far you've come and all the healthy habits you've adopted. Keep doing what you're doing everything will catch up together eventually.

Nola: I know you weren't feeling well last week and there's been no activity from you this weekend so I hope everything is well. Check in w/the group to let us know how you're feeling.

Good morning and happy Monday to all! Today is week 9 day 1 of the P90X program so it was a chest and back day. It's amazing what you begin to appreciate after a little break. Since I really hated the push ups done in the chest, shoulders and triceps workout it made me really appreciate the ones completed in the chest and back workout. I really rocked out this workout today and I'm very proud of myself. My plan is to do ab ripper this afternoon b/c just don't have the time in the morning unless I get up before 5 am and I have no plan to do that.

I guess I'm posting to myself these days but I will continue to do so until my 10 in 9 buddies return.

hey ladies! so sorry I been away but just didnt have the time or energy to log on. but I was surely thinking about u ladies and how choco was doing with p90x and how many miles dawna managed to run this week and how much loss did porterbaby have since u been back home. ahhhh. i didnt track anything last week and cudnt workout cuz i was sick but i'm hoping to be able to get in a light workout today andstart getting back into the groove of things.

nothing new here except my bday is in a month so i'm definately counting down for that and watching what i eat from here on out. my parents are coming to visit next weekend (which is also 4th of july) so it will be hard to eat healthy then but I will surely try my best and not give in so easily.

Hope everyone is doing great and having a great start to this new week!

    CATCHING UP ON POSTS.....

So, ladies..... let's chat. I'm curious to know some more things about ya!

    1) At this very moment, what would you choose to eat, without thinking of calories?

*a cup of gumbo and sweet potato fries from a nearby restaurant (yummy!)

oh and my guilty pleasure is reading tabloid magazines lol.

    3) If you had to watch the same movie over and over, what would it be?
hmmm that's tough. I'll go with my best friend's wedding

    4) What is your favorite fruit? MANGO! from my tree in belize!

    5) What kind of car do you drive?

hi ladies! its been a crazy couple of days for me, so I haven't been able to post.

On Thursday during my Ultimate Frisbee game I ended up pulling my hamstring a bit, so on Friday I had to take a rest day and try to let it heal. Saturday I was planning on doing a 10 mile run, but since my hamstring was still on the fritz... I decided to do a lighter workout and then stretch. Well, I wouldn't say I did a light workout, it was 60 minutes of Turbo Kick, but it was a lot less stress on the hamstring. And then I did 10 minutes of ChaLean Extreme's Ab Burner workout. After that I stretched to some Michael Buble music. His voice is amazing...puts me to sleep! Great stretching music!! Sunday I had church, then a Father's Day BBQ with some friends. There were suprisingly a lot of healthy sides, so that was a plus. And it was "Bring Your Own Meat", so we brought some yummy lean meat to grill. I'm not sure what happened to me last night, but I must have got some sort of bug from something I ate cause I was up from 1am-4am throwing up all last night. Not cool. So, this morning when my alarm went off at 5am, I was NOT ready to get out of bed. I was exhausted. Tonight we have some plans, but I'm hoping to still get maybe a nice evening jog in.

Choco- that trip sounds way fun! i would love to travel someday! and way to go on your running. i think despite what you think of your "newbie" status, you sound like you are doing amazing! That is some great time! Way to go! You are way faster than I am. I am slow, probably because I gotta get rid of some extra weight.

Nola- glad you are feeling better. I hate being sick, its the worst! i also have a guilty pleasure of reading tabloid magazines. Hope you can get back into your normal routine!

Porterbaby- my advice on your stresses on your weightloss would be to avoid the scale for a bit. I haven't stepped on the scale for about 3 weeks and I find that I am less "stressed" and "obsessive" about seeing the number on the scale go down, and I am focusing on how I feel. Keep working out and eating well, and maybe switch up your routine a bit. I know I need to get better at doing my workouts in the morning. But, if you are working out at night, switch it to the morning for a bit. Or if you are doing it in the morning, do a few nights of working out in the evening for a bit. When I am worrying about the scale I tend to stress out and therefore, have a hard time losing weight. The hormones you get when you stress out typically cause you to hold onto weight. Good luck lady!

Question 2.1: According to the Authorization of custody this child entered DFCS custody on 10/22/09. Question 2.2: This child has not been discharged so the date that pre-populated is incorrect. Question 2.3: This child’s biological mother is nineteen years old and does not have any family support in the State of Georgia. The child’s maternal great mother is willing to assume responsibility for the child but she resides in Maryland. The Adjudicatory/Disposition court order stated the permanency goal was uncertain but the case plan identified the permanency goal as concurrent: reunification and fit and willing living relative. Question 3.2.13: The Adjudicatory & Disposition order dated 11/19/09 stated "The Department spoke w/the mother in an attempt to identify the child's biological father and contacted relatives as possible placement resources". Question 3.13: During the Diligent Search process the following relatives were identified: maternal great grandmother, maternal great grandfather, maternal aunt, maternal uncle, 2 maternal cousins and 3 fictive kins. Reviewer would like to note that the maternal aunt and uncle are teenagers who reside w/the maternal great grandmother. It is unclear to this reviewer why the maternal grandfather, 1 maternal cousin and 2 fictive kins were not contacted as part of this process. Question 4.4: The FTM report stated the biological mother was invited but did not indicate how she was invited. Question 4.5: According to the FTM report only the child’s needs were discussed because the biological mother was not present. Question 4.15: The child and his biological mother completed their evaluations (developmental and psychological) on 12/08/09. Question 5.1: According to cm documentation dated 11/17/09 “when Demetrius came into care he was abandoned and his birthday was unknown. Due to that when the CCFA took him to have a medical exam they were unable to because he had no birth date. The foster parent also tried to take him to the doctor, but no doctor would see him without birthday and shot record, and due to lack of information when trying to find in the GRIT system they were not able to locate him by the name was given. So Demetrius was not able to receive a medical 10 days coming into care”. Questions 5.4 & 5.5: According to cm documentation dated 11/17/09 the child was diagnosed w/an ear infection and bronchitis and was prescribed amoxicillin and allbuterol oraped syrup. Question 8.4: The developmental evaluation was completed by Gerald Augustin, Psy.D. Question 9.6: The child's developmental and the biological mother's psychological were completed but not w/in the first 30 days. Also, the child's health screen was not completed until well after the first 30 days and reviewer found no documentation of the dental screen

Good afternoon everyone and happy Tuesday! This is going to be a busy work week b/c we're under a lot of pressure to complete our reviews by the end of the week. In addition, to reviewing case files I'm also training a new employee so needless to say I've been hopping. I stayed at work late yesterday and was exhausted that after letting dinner digest I went straight to bed. I woke up to TOM cramps and really debated whether to substitute today's workout w/something a lot lighter.

Today is week 9 day 2 of the P90X program which means it PLYOMETRICS. I really considered substituting the plyometrics dvd b/c of the cramps then I said I would only complete half the workout but once I got going I decided to really dig deeper and bring it and 60 minutes later I had burned almost 400 calories. I'm very proud of myself b/c even w/the cramps in the stomach and lower back I completed EVERY move and did not modify ANYTHING.....WOOHOO, WOOHOO, WOOHOO!

Good morning and happy HUMP DAY! Well today is the deadline to have our work assignment completed and we're on track to get it done but in order to ensure it we will be working late.

Today is week 9 day 3 of the P90X program and it's shoulders and arms. I hadn't completed this workout in a couple of weeks so I had forgotten all the moves but my upper body sure did feel it.

goodmorning ladies. today i'm going to do p90x today, but i'm going to do cardio this mornig and strength weights this afternoon. stretches later. on my schedule today is finish cleaning upstairs, use the push mower, clean alittle bit on the trailer. probably go for a walk later. i didn't go for a walk yesterday, because it end up storming, so i just did some cleaning and workout again. i miss my man so much, but with him gone, it gives me a chance to be by myself to clean, work on my body, to look great for him when he gets back.

choco: i hope you got your work done on time. what are you doing today on your p90x?
nolachick, kicklikeagirl ,jocelyne, and crickks: how are all you ladies doing? how's the weight lose journey going?

Good morning everyone! I am happy to announce that the work assignment is now complete and the deadline was met. It required me staying up until almost midnight but nonetheless it is done:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: Since work assignment is complete it means my unit and I are able to work from home for the next couple of weeks (except to attend a meeting here and there)....YIPPEE, YIPPEE, YIPPEE, YIPPEE! Working from home allows me so much more flexibility regarding sleep and workouts. For example, if we needed to report to the office today I would have needed to be up by 5 am in order to complete the workout, eat breakfast, shower and commute to work and I didn't get to bed until after midnight so I would have been operating on very little sleep. Since we're working from home I was able to sleep til 7 am, complete workout, eat breakfast, shower and be ready for work by 8:30 am.....can you tell i'm excited about working from home for the next couple of weeks.....LOL.

    Enough about my work schedule.

Today is week 9 day 4 of the P90X program which means it's a Yoga day. As everyone knows I don't like yoga and usually switch it out for another dvd BUT today I decided to give yoga a shot. I knew I would not last for 90 minutes so I opted for Denise Austin's Yoga Body Burn dvd. What I liked most about this workout is that it's 3 separate workouts that are 20 minutes, 10 minutes and 10 minutes so you decide how much you want to do on any given day. I completed all three today and it was not as bad as I expected. I'm still not a fan of Yoga but if I do decide to take a stab at it again I will do this workout.

Porterbaby: Glad to learn you're still rocking it out and checking in w/the ladies. I'm sure you do miss your man but it sounds like you have a great plan to keep busy until he returns. Keep up the workouts!

    Good morning ladies,
i know i have not been logging in as much but for one thing been really busy and another is I'm finding that the less I log on to MFP the less I obsess about food and calories. While I haven't been able to workout much, I have been finding that I'm not hungry as often or have cravings as often as before. Of course I eat 3 solid meals a day but few snacks in between. So if u notice I go missing again I'm not too far away. glad to see everyone is doing great.

Choco: I did plyo on tues with my bf and we only did about half of it and I was ok but he was almost on the floor tired lol. so i feel good in that way that i am a bit more fit even tho i need to lose weight and he's trying to gain. so i guess i have a better resistance than he does. Congratulations on completing the workout without any mods! u go girl!

porterbaby, even tho u gained last week i know u always have a way of coming back so i know u can!

dawna: hope ur doing great. i forgot to tell u how much I admire ur work with that group even tho it causes extra stress on you, it seems like u are doing something constructive with ur spare time. I'm sorry u dont like living where ur at but i'm sure its only temporary and u will move to a happier place when school is over.

any plans for the weekend? lol i know its only thurs but i'm so ready for the wkend!

    hi ladies!
its been quite the busy few weeks over here, both at work and at home. i usually get on and check up during my work breaks..but i just haven't had any time. its a lot of "month end" business thats got me all tied up. but i'm glad its keeping me busy because i am starting to get somewhat sick of my job. i need MORE and i feel trapped in what i'm doing, and that i can't get any higher in my position without moving into something that would require me to stay here more permanently to build clientel. oh well. i'm just thankful to have a job in this economy. every night its been busy. once i get home at night its go-go-go until lights out. this week has been filled with appointments, games, laundry, cleaning and packing. we're heading out for the weekend for a little trip, and i am SO excited! the weather is finally in the 80s, and i am loving it! we're meeting up with my husband's family for a little weekend get-a-way. yippee! not sure what exactly our plans are. we are having a big family gathering/BBQ on Sunday. On Saturday, i'm not sure yet- we might go to an amusement park, since my husband's siblings are quite younger and his handicapped sister would probably love it!

choco- so happy you get to work from home! i would love that kind of flexibility. what do you do for your line of work? way to get your Yoga in...i'm the same way, i'm not a fan of yoga. but i should really start doing it because i'm sure it will help my flexibility and prevent injuries on my part.

nola- glad to hear you are doing well! i haven't been posting as much either-- for me i think i'm getting to the point where i'm so much more active after work that i can't find the time to catch up with the 10 in 9 ladies. glad to hear that you've been able to keep your eating in check without obsessing. sometimes obsessing creates internal pressure, and then we end up failing at some point. so i'm so excited you've been able to conquer that!

porterbaby- way to keep workin hard while your man is gone, i'm sure it helps ease the stress to be working out! keep it going girl! you'll break through your plateau, i just know it!
