Good morning everyone and happy Hump day! My return from PA found me right smack in the middle of another work deadline. I have this report completed by the close of business tomorrow so that meant I worked late last night again which made it difficult for me to get up this morning and get my day started. Since my workout week has been thrown off from being out of town I decided to pass on the P90X workout and try to get in more cardio. So, I completed the Cardio Power and Resistance dvd and boy did I forget how this dvd get's in your booty.......Lol

Dawna: Glad you enjoyed your time w/the family, I did too. I hope to one day be able to burn 1000 calories from exercising, it just seems impossible for me to burn as many calories as others. I know there are a variety of factors but still I give it my all and yet it doesn't always reflect it. Anyway, it looks like you'll be ready for your 1/2 marathon. Great job.

    Hi ladies!
Woke up early this morning and got a quick, timed 3 mile run. We didn't play 3 games of Ultimate Frisbee last night, but tonight we have another game--THE CHAMPIONSHIP! YaY! I tried a new food today, which I really enjoyed. I've never really enjoyed yogurt because it is too sweet and full of asparatme and things like that. But, the other day I bought some plain Greek Yogurt. The first time I ate it, I thought it was nasty, but I read somewhere about adding a little bit of honey and it naturally sweetens it and takes away the bitter taste. So, I did that, and added some fresh raspberries...and YUMMMM! It is great!
    Have a great day ladies!

Choco- Now that I've lost weight it takes a while for me to burn 1000 calories. Last time I burned 1000 calories I ran about 9.5 miles. So, it doesn't happen often. I just assumed maybe if we played all 3 40-minute games that I'd burn a lot. But, since we only played one game, I burned about 420 calories. I don't doubt you work your butt off when you do your workouts. Calorie burn for you will be less than mine since I weigh over 25 pounds more than you. And for me, different workouts end up with different calorie burn. Running for 30 minutes is about 350, strength training for 30 minutes is about 150, Kickboxing for 30 minutes is about 250, ultimate frisbee is about 420 for 40 minutes, interval training for 30 minutes is about 300. So, each exercise for me is different based on the intensity and the "zone" I'm in. But, girl, you just keep workin it...someday I have a feeling I'll get to be fit and thin and I'll be burning less calories as well!!

Good afternoon everyone! There's just one more work day before the start of the weekend. Since today is suppose to be a P90X Yoga day I decided to take it light. I completed the Core Cardio and Balance dvd from the Insanity program.

Dawna: Good luck w/the frisbee championship tonight and burn enough calories for me too.

Nola: I'm hoping everything is alright w/you. I know you said you weren't going to log your food b/c you were becoming obsessed I just hope you're still making wise choices, exercising and on track to meet your weight loss goal.

    Hey Hey Hey!
Last night we won our Ultimate frisbee game! It was awesome! We got free t-shirts and had a blast! I sure worked hard...since I get really competative. I'm not sure how many calories I burned, but I estimated based on how many I would burn running in those minutes. It was fun! Well, more fun since we won I'm sure. I could NOT get out of bed early this morning. I have been doing really well, and I almost did it, but I only got 4 hours of sleep last night and I needed the extra 2 hours. It felt good, and I will do my workout tonight and continue with the early mornings.

Hey ladies- should we start a new group name so we can get some more people to join us in our journey? Not that I don't like chatting with you both, but it may be fun to get more people involved. Any ideas? Suggestions?

so today i had to do cardio/strength.
choco: how is the insanity workout dvd? is it fun?
kicklikeagirl: i'm glad you won the frisbee game. i bet it was alot of fun. it sounds ok to me it's up to everyone else.
nola: i hope you are doing okay, we haven't heard from you and i haven't seen you in the other one either.

I am soooo far from being bikini body ready. Maybe if I got down to 130 or something, but I've never really been a bikini body build... I'm just chunky!! Maybe someday.... but not anytime real soon. But, thanks for the compliments :)

Dawna: I think beginning a new group in order to gain more participants is a great idea unfortunately I don't have any ideas at the moment. In my experience on this website challenges seemed to generate a lot buzz (at least initially). Perhaps we can start a thread with reaching some type of goal by the beginning of the fall or to workout a certain number of days in a month. I enjoy chatting with you all too but agree it would be nice to have new ppl b/c it really helps on days I don't feel like working out or eating healthy.

    Hey ladies,
What if I started a group called "Fit For Life-- Challenge" --- pretty much a group that makes up challenges each month/week depending on our needs and is focused on being fit for life...not just for a few months to lose weight. I know a lot of people out there want this for the long haul, and I am determined to be fit for life. Anyways, let me know your thoughts.

Dawna I like the fit for life name b/c it really embodies everything that I'm trying to do. We will need to think of some different challenges to keep things interesting but I think it's a great start.

Good afternoon and Thank Goodness It's Friday! It has been a very long work week and I'm looking forward to chilling out this weekend before hitting the streets of Boston next week. Since I was on a mini vacay last week and will be on another one next week I've not been following the P90X workouts. I just decide what I have time to do and select a workout. Today I completedd the Cardio X workout b/c I was pressed fort time. We had a unit meeting today so had to get here early. Nonetheless, the workout is done and I'm happy.

Good afternoon and I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday afternoon! After an extremely long and somewhat difficult work meeting (supervisor was not in the best mood) yesterday I had a headache and could not wait to get home and chill out. I ended up falling asleep early but of course could not sleep the whole night so around midnight I was up channel surfing. At 3 am I was still up watching tv and came across the movie "Eddie Murphy - Raw". It was a movie w/Eddie doing stand up comedy back in the late 80's. The movie is very vulgar so if cursing/raunchiness is not your thing you definitely would not enjoy it but I love this movie. I can't believe I actually was able to see it when it first premiered in 1987 b/c I was only 14 years old. As an adult, I know there was no way I should of been aloud to see this movie so the movie theater was definitely messed up by letting my friends and I in. Anyway, watched the movie until 5 am and was up by 8:30 am.

Today's workout is complete. I was able to complete 2.5 miles of a Leslie Sansone dvd while holding 3 lb weights in each hand before I began giving my house a thorough cleaning. I always try to give the house a nice thorough cleaning before leaving on vacation but was so busy w/work assignments that I could not do it before heading to PA, so, I got it in today.

hey ladies thnx for not giving up on me. i know u will think i'm crazy but i had to all out stop MFP for a big cuz i really was becoming obsessed and not going anywhere. lol i would log on all day at work and not be very constructive and then thinking about every single calorie burned and every calorie eaten was starting to control my life and the worst part is i wasn't making ANY progress.
I have not weighed in so I cant tell u how i've done with the pounds but i can tell u i've definately been losing inches and eating healthy and trying to stay active. my parents were in town last week so that kept me extra busy but i stayed on track and when we went shopping I bought all SIZE 10'S
I am so happy i am even fitting back into all the clothes i had stored up in my closet. I feely are great becuz unlike most people who gain when they are away from MFP I feel I have made progress.

Dawna: have u tried or thinking about getting TURBO FIRE? omg I wanna order it so bad and am seriously considering it but I might wait to see it cheaper online or after someon's used it and wants to sell it.

choco: i definately thought about u last weekend when essence fest was going on and too bad u weren't able to make it. wud have been awesome to meet someone from MFP in person.

porterbaby. hope u are doing great with ur workouts. i haven't had time to catch up with everyone's posts but I'm curious to know if u kept doing the Brazilian butt lift and what results u've seen.

well ladies i will definately try to check in more often. i do miss u ladies so much and i appreciate all the support u have given me in this weightloss journey. I am finally starting to feel like my old sexy confident self again and you all have been an enormous help. :flowerforyou:

Good afternoon everyone! Since today is my rest day I kept the exercise very light. It started w/a 35 minute full body stretch that was absolutely wonderful. It's amazing how good you can feel after a great stretch. After the stretch I got dressed and headed to the movies. I had heard great things about Karate Kid II so I decided to check it out. I parked a little over a mile away from the theater and walked there and back. So a total of 2.2 miles done along w/a great stretch.

Nola: I'm glad you've been doing well and staying focused while away from the website. MFP is suppose to be a tool so you definitely don't want to obsess over it. I truly enjoy logging on everyday and checking in w/the group but when I go on vacation I don't log my food. Ultimately you know what's best for you so do what's necessary but know we still have your back. I hope you enjoyed your time w/your parents and congratulations in getting into those size 10's. It's been a long road and I'm soooooo glad you met that goal.

hey ladies! i kept it pretty light last night and took a 3 mile walk to loosen up my legs to stretch them and then ice them. It felt pretty great. I stayed up wayy too late though, so I'm feelin it today. I'm going to do a workout tonight while my hubby is doing some group projects for school. I'm thinking of trying a cycling class, or maybe doing some plyometrics mixed with some strength training tonight.

Nola--- so glad you have been doing so great without MFP! I totally know what you mean about obsessing about food/exercise sometimes. I got like that at one point and just decided not to login as much and I ended up doing much better. Good for you!!! Also, about Turbo Fire...I TOTALLY want it, like really bad. I'm just too cheap right now to spend money on it. I'm hoping by the time winter comes and I'm more dependent on indoor workouts, I'll find someone selling it on ebay for cheaper than Beach Body. I love Chalene and I'm pumped!! I just need to save up the money to buy it!!

Choco--- did you enjoy Karate Kid?

Good afternoon everyone! I hope this post finds everyone in good health and spirits. I procrastinated, procrastinated, procrastinated about getting this workout in today. I have to admit I really didn't feel like working out today, so, I convinced myself to only do 30 minutes of the P90X leg and Back routine AND THANKFULLY once I got going I found a second wind and was able to rock out the ENTIRE routine. I hope this is not going to happen all week. I leave for Boston Thursday morning so my plan is to continue w/the P90X workouts until then. Once I get to Boston I'll have to play everything by ear.

Dawna: The movie was approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes and I loved every minute of it. IMO, Jaden Smith has a very bright future ahead of him b/c he did a great job plus I'm a sucka for a happy ending....LOL.

    good morning!!
I could not get up this morning. I tried, but I couldn't. So, the rest of the week I've really gotta try hard to get up early. Last night I got home from work and realized the spinning class starts too early on Mondays for me to attend, so I ended up working on my kickboxing routine (I teach kickboxing classes) and then I did 40 minutes of ChaLean Extreme. It was a good workout and I am feelin it today! Tonight I'm doing a shorter run, and then tomorrow I am getting up early, I've gotta do this!!

Have a great day!! hope everyone's week is going well!

Oh, I tried a new little recipe last night, I kind of made it up a bit..but it was tasty!! It was salmon with fresh cut potatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, olives, and red peppers. Drizzled with a little bit of light Italian dressing and basil and cooked in the oven. It was fabulous! I am having leftovers for lunch and I am very very excited! I've been trying to do more new healthy recipes to help give me and my husband more variety.

Good morning everyone and Happy Tuesday! In two days I'll be among family and friends in Boston and I can't wait. It's been almost a year since I've been home so I'm super excited. I decided to switch up today's workout. Instead of completing the Plyometrics dvd from the P90X program I did Billy Blanks (Taebo instructor) Cardio Bootcamp and it was great. This workout "takes some of the most active moves from his cardio kickboxing routine and combines them with hard hitting interval training". Resistance bands are used for the majority of the workout and they really ramp up the routine and make you feel the burn. Since I had only done this routine one time everything was brand new and really fun. I may even take the dvd w/me to Boston so I complete it one more time while there (undecided as of now).

Dawna: I really need to try cooking but I can't lie I don't enjoy it. It feels more like a chore and I've not found a way to make it fun or exciting. If I could get the clean eating under control my body would be bananas but even that's not motivating me to change it up.

hi ladies. even though i'm keeping busy and working out, lately when i eat my lunch meal, my stomach starts hurting really bad. so i have to eat toast and a half glass of milk to help it. so i just fixed a smoothie. could it be where my stomach is shrinking. i just can eat heavy foods. just light foods.

Good morning and happy hump day! I can't believe I'm on week 11 of the P90X program. There were definitely days when I didn't think I was going to make it but the light is definitely at the end of the tunnel now. Unfortunately, as of tomorrow I'll be out of town and unable to continue with the P90X dvds but will find a way to get some type of exercise in. Today I completed the back and bicep dvd and was really able to rock it out.

Good evening everyone. Im posting late b/c as you all know I am in my hometown of Boston visiting friends and family. I arrived at 10 am this morning and have yet to stop running. I was able to visit w/my grandmother, hang out w/a very good friend, have lunch w/high school friends, workout w/another high school friend, have dinner w/other friends and then spend time w/my cousin and her children.

Despite how crazy my day has been I was still able to get in some good workouts. First, I started the morning with 1.5 miles of the Leslie Sansone workout (holding 3 lb weights), then instead of taking the train to my concourse I walked which was another mile and then I met a high school friend for a turbo kickboxing class at her local gym this evening. So, I really burned some calories.

TGIF everyone! Since I didn't have to work today due to the furlough I was able to sleep in a little longer and I am so happy I did b/c my body really needed the extra rest. I'm still dragging but not nearly as bad as I had been earlier in the week. Today is week 2 day 5 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a strength training day. I completed the Burn Circuit 3 workout and I think this might be my least favorite workout due to all the shoulder work that's being done. I'm not sure why but I hate push ups and any type of shoulder exercise. Nonetheless, I pushed through and gave it my all and when it was all over I was glad that I had pushed through the temptation to skip it and do something easier.

NOLA: I hope all is well with you and you rejoin the group soon. I miss our online chattin.
