Agreed! I started with New Rules and found it to be boring and a bit overcomplicated as you go on. Switched to Strong Lifts, much more streamlined and to the point!
Is there a web site for Strong lifts?
Yes there is, of course they want you to buy stuff! I have learned some things there but have learned more from the group on here. Stronglifts 5x5 for Women.
NROL4W is a great read, don't get me wrong. I first got into lifting by reading The Female Body Breakthrough by Rachel Cosgrove (her husband is a co-author of NROL4W, which honestly is a bit of a re-hash of her book written a couple years before NROL4W) anyway all are great reads and you will learn a lot! Where I got bored with NR and FBB are later on in the programs, it started taking too much time to complete and a few moves that felt a bit more like gymnastics, imo. lol SL is very to the point and hits all the necessary movements! Good luck!
Stronglifts has a website (google it, you'll find it). If you give your email address, Mehdi will send you a free document to read which explains Stronglifts as well as a tracking sheet (this is extremely helpful). The only time he charges is if you want to get into his forums.0 -

You look great. Did you do any cardio, or just lift?
Cardio is just as important in my eyes. I did Ripped in 30 (5&8 lb weights) and P90X. Also play roller derby.0 -

I have had great results from weight lifting...But after prior CRAZY fr from posting pics...I am not gonna fall victim! Let me just say. Weights are a woman's best friend! After a couple of months off...my body is begging me to get back at it!0 -

Thanks! I should clarify that this was not just squats alone There were dead lifts, half dead lifts, curtsy lunges, box jumps, and a TON of ballet conditioning. Lots of kettlebell swings too. I love those.0
