I know it's kindof late for me to jump on the wagon with you guys but I will update my progress here as well. I hope you guys don't mind. I have been reading thru all of your posts and must admit that you all are doing great! I just bought my DVD tonight and started tonight. I am a VERY big girl...my starting weight when I started here on MFP was 330lbs...I am now down to 308lbs. I normally do my stationary bike every single night for up to 45 mins to one hour. I also do ab crunches about three times a week, 100 each time...leg lifts, etc..and sometimes on the weekend I will go walking at a local park and walk about a mile or so. Oh and I am on a 1500 cal a day intake, but thinking about lowering it to maybe 1300. This first workout with the DVD killed me...lol. It is very hard for me to do the squats...HELLO I am over 300lbs! But ya know what, I actually did them. I was very shocked that my first cardi workout in a very long time I actually made it thru the whole dvd and only had to stop maybe three or four times. I do have to modify the pushups, no way I can do those yet and I did the jumping jacks, but because I am still so heavy they really hurt my knees, so until I loose quite a bit more weight I am going to start modifying those as well. Everything else was fine. It is a bit annoying though moving from floor, to stand, floor to stand..lol. I am using 2lb weights and they are ok for now but I would like to get 3lb soon and try those. I really hope I am not sore tomorrow, but will push thru it if I am and do it for my second night in a row. It deffinately isn't a pretty site to see my big butt doing it but let me tell ya what..at least I am doing it and I feel so great after the workout! Good luck to everyone else. I have noticed that alot of you are noticing more inches dropped than weight, and that is fine with me, I would be so happy to loose inches! I can do other exercises and adjust my caloric intake to loose the actual weight. The inches are what makes us look HOT in our clothes..lol0

MissVee--I don't think it is EVER too late to join ANY workout program! (After all, I was in my 50's before I started any real exercise!)
Do modify anything you need to modify--remember that the people at the Biggest Loser have all kinds of medical personnel and therapists on call--we don't! You don't want to hurt yourself--and you need to be able to run after those twins of yours! 22 mont- old twins--I don't envy you at all. I bet they are a real blessing, though.
(Level 2 Day 4 done.)0 -
NEVER to late to start, Good luck and welcome!!!0

L3D17 better late than sorry!0

pmjsmom: Thanks hun....yeah..the twins will be turning 2 years old in about two weeks..they hit the terrible 2's about three months ago so yeah I have been dealing with tantrums, fits, you name it..lol...but they are a blessing, they are my little angels.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to do the Shred more than one day..I had to take a break last night from it because my legs on the tops of them were so sore that I could hardly walk! I kept telling myself that I needed to push thru the pain but the soreness was so bad I could barely support my own weight for more than a few seconds, so I knew I had better not try it for another day in a row. On top of that soreness I also had to majorly clean house yesterday, mopping, rearranging closets, sweeping, spring cleaning type cleaning and oh boy that didn't help my legs much either. However, I did make myself ride my stationary bike last night and I did weights on my arms (which are now sore this morning..lol) and I plan on getting right back to my Shred dvd tonight even though my legs are still pretty sore, they are alot better than they felt yesterday. I don't think I stretched propperly afterward, I think that was most of my problem. Lesson learned and back on the horse so to speak..lol
Hope everyone else is doing well.
One question...for those of you who have been doing the Shred longer, what is your progress? Weight lost? Inches lost? I am curious.0 -

The first time I did this workout I did it every other day. It took me 3 times longer but I knew better than to hurt myself!
I do think she needs a longer cooldown for this. I have been skipping the stretching that Jillian does and doing a 1 mile walking video by Leslie Sansone that has a better cooldown and stretching section. So far it seems to be working!
I haven't been losing much since I quit smoking but that seems to be changing--finally! I am down about 4 pounds since I started but I haven't checked my measurements lately. My clothes are looser, though.
Today was my day off--I'll be back tomorrow.0 -
Took day off, will start Chalean Extreme and will continue will Jillian, Wish me luck, be back tomorrow.0

Hi Everyone! I am back, had a very busy weekend so took Sat and Sunday off but last night I was back on track.
So Im at L2D19. today will be Day 20 and then I'll move on to Level 3. Not that Ive mastered Level 2 , no where near it.
But I am bored and mentally feel progress. So love hate relationship. Glad to see people still around posting, motivating me
and others. Still no super weight loss figures but Im hanging in there and taking advice not to get stressed.0 -
L2D7. Probably next week I'll start L3:noway:0
-
Level 2 Day 5 done. Couldn't really get into it today and I'm not sure why. I did it though, but only counted half the time as exercise because I felt like I was "phoning it in." Sure hope tomorrow goes better!0
-
L3D18, I started Chalean Extreme Burn Phase 1 this morning, I will finish what I have started and helped me the 30 Day Shred to be able to continue this journey, 12 more and I will complete it
I'm so motivated and love the sensation of those burning muscles when working out.0 -
L1D3 completed! I really had to talk myself into doing it tonight. I am finding that having to watch the same old stuff over and over each time before we can begin to workout is so boring and very annoying. I mean one time about hearing her talk about who she is and why she made this dvd is great, but after that it gets old. Anyway....
I noticed tonight that my endurance is picking up some, after only three days! So I am excited about that part. I was able to get thru level 1 a bit easier tonight which makes me rethink my earlier statement about it taking all 30 days for me to get used to doing level 1 before I could move on to level 2. I am still not sure if I am going to be able to do this every day though. I mean there are so many other exercises that I would rather do. I am the type of person that gets bored easily, so I am thinking that I am going to just do this every other day and then do other exercises with it like my stationary bike and my own personal ab workout (I don't think the ab sessions in the video are working me hard enough in that area since I am really used to doing my abs anyway) and me and my sister go to a local park three days a week and walk/jog about 2-3 miles each time. So I am thinking that will be good enough.
I am still having a hard time with the scale numbers NOT dropping!! I guess I do need to stop weighing in everyday and just focus on the inches and how my clothes are fitting. Some how I feel I need that instant gratification though of looking down at the scales each morning and realizing that I have lost more weight. I need to refocus my brain and realize that even though the scale numbers aren't coming down, I AM GETTING SMALLER!
Anyway, tomorrow I don't think I will be doing the Shred, it is walk/jog evening at the park, but we will see.0 -
What I have been doing is mute the TV and put some music on, I just look at the tv if I need to to know that Im going at her pace, hope it helps and I stayed at the same weight for almost 3 weeks but I lost some inches.0
-
Did L2D8 tonight after I got back from the gym. I usually do it in the mornings but this morning I didn't have time so I did that and my gym back to back. I also watched level 3 boy it looks like a killer! LOL. I also haven't dropped any weight since starting Shred but I am losing inches.0
-
I counted L2 D3 twice--I did L2 D7 today (not D6). I am taking tomorrow off because of a schedule change but will be back at it on Friday!0
-
Took Day off, I'm following Chaleans calendar but will be back tomorrow I got to let my muscles rest even if I don't want to.
Good Job!0 -
L2D9 done! I received the new "shaker" weight for arms in the mail today. It includes a 6 minute video I will try doing it tonight.0
-
L3D19, I also did Chalean Extreme BC2 this morning0
-
L2D10. I took my measurements again. I have lost 3 inches in the waist and 2 inches in the hips and 1/4th inch in the arms. Other areas stayed the same so far. But happy with those inches. Weight still the same.0

Hey everyone--I'm going to stop the Shred for now. I feel bad about it but it is a little too hard to do the Shred while working. The last time I did this video I was on hiatus and I had no problems with it. But this time I'm having some shoulder trouble and I think it is the combination of the workout and my job (LOTS of lifting and hauling!). So, I will do this again when I go on hiatus in October.
Hang in there everyone. You are doing so well! (I really like to finish what I start so this is very hard for me.)0 -

Thanks. Just did L2D11.0 -
Took yesterday off from the Shred. Am starting L3D1 today. Will post about how it goes after I do it!0
-
Just got thru L3D1. I had to do some of the modified versions but feels good to get thru it.0

I am starting over today too! I had started a few months ago, but got off track. Yes, it does make you very sore but it is a great total body workout for 30 min! I do find that I need to warm up and stretch more before the video, so I have been taking my dog on a quick walk around the neighborhood before and that seems to help. I also stretch more after the workout and I am less sore. I have a wedding in 3 weeks, so I am joining you late, but I am looking forward to results!0

Glad you are joining us Lauren. Extra stretching is a great idea. I'm sure you will see great results before your big day!0 -
