Jenny, Well now I feel like a dolt. I, unlike everyone else, saw it but got caught up in a bunch of other stuff at the time (at work) and forgot to come back and say something. When I logged in from home, I just started from the ones I hadn't read. I'm so sorry, no excuses - I remember what it was like to get that call from the clinic. I'm glad you're getting support from somewhere, even if we're a little insensitive. I hope you rethink your decision to leave the thread - you will be missed.0
-
Oh Jenny...in my world of feeling the exact same way I managed to totally drop the ball on congratulating you as well. I've not posted for a while because I feel a lack of support and what a feeling to feel from people you don't really even know. At times this is the first place that I've gone to when I needed support or to reach out to support others, but lately I've felt that all of my posts are all but ignored. I don't have the support anywhere else...both ttc and weight loss. That is why this makes me sad. I am sad that you have felt the same way.0
-
I think the nature of TTC makes us all pretty self-centered. It's hard to focus on what's going on with everyone else when you're all wrapped up in your own little world. I'm sure a lot of us feel ignored (I know I do) and I'm 100% sure that not one of us means to do it.
We're here for you, even if we don't type it out in a message. I know I read all of the messages and I think, "Oh wow, that's great!" or "Oh man, that sucks" but I often don't actually say that. So I'm very sorry for not voicing my comments.
So giant hugs to everyone who isn't feeling support right now. :flowerforyou:0 -
I second that Erica. I know I am completely guilty of this. I am so terribly sorry to those who have felt ignored or not supported! I hate that it has come to ppl feeling like they should leave to open my eye's to this. I plan to start writing notes while I read so I can remember everything I want to say!
Erica-aren't you in the 2WW right now? What dpo?
Heather - how long do you have your husband before he leaves for training again? What does he fly?
KCurtis- did you get the renter to pay up??
Afm - I'm still confused about this temping thing..well not confused about the concept just how my body is I guess..temp went up to 96.96 today so I'm assuming if it stays that high then that was the spike I have been waiting on and I O'd yesterday...good tgoing the hubs and I BD'd "for fun" last night lol0 -
Yes, I'm 11 dpoish (I'm half-heartedly temping and got a temp rise two days after my +opk, though without my faux temps, FF calls me 12 dpo). AF should be here Sunday or Monday. I'll probably wait until Tuesday to test. My temp was still high this morning, but I'm sick so that might be why.
Alisa, that temp spike looks good for O! I think I shared an article on here, but if not, they do say that while temping can show the shift, it's not always accurate within a specific time frame. You could have Od after your +opk and your temps might just now be reflecting it, or it could be spot on. There was a lag of Oing up to 6 days before the shift or 3 days after (as tested by blood work and sonograms.) I imagine as long as you finally see that shift and your temps stay up, then you can feel good that you did indeed O.
Yes, Kcurtis, did you ever get your tenant to pay up??0 -
I agree with Erica and Alisa, I know I’m so caught up in what I think are early pregnancy symptoms that I’m kinda in my own world right now. I’m sorry if I’ve made anyone feel like they’re not getting the support they need. I know there are lots of times when I log in and think, “Oh, no one commented on what I said,” but I love this group and don’t want anyone to leave.0
-
Oh, Jenny, Heather and everyone else I am SO sorry! I think Erica did say it best and I am completely guilty of being self-centered! I am very sorry that you had the feeling of being ignored. I too am one that checks in at work and doesn't have, or take the time I should, to really read through the posts and share everyone's news. So.. my new goal.... go back to taking notes while catching up on everyone's posts so I can comment on everyone! I too am very sorry it has taken someone leaving for me to realize what I haven't been doing. I hope you all the best and support you in every way! BIG HUGS!0
-
Yes, our renter FINALLY paid! We gave her an official court document ordering her to "Pay or quit." Apparently that lit a fire under her rear and get us the $$ last Friday. So I guess she is off the hook for another month. LOL We'll see what happens in less than 2 weeks when Feb. is due....
Erica, Ron,Heather, KT, Katy and Alisa, I am sending all the prayers and baby dust your way! I don't want to jinx it but it's sounding positive for all of you!
Alisa- Thanks for liking my pic. My Hubby took that the day I bought my veil for the wedding. I was so excited! Good thing you can't see my body...I was my heaviest at that time. :frown:
BTW: AF is here, so disregard my previuos, freaking out, post from last night around midnight. LOL
I think I have edited this post 5 times. LOL I keep forgetting things! :laugh:0 -
Hi ladies,
I haven't used this site for a long time but am stuck on a plateau and thought I would give this a try again. I am hoping to start to TTC around April and this group seemed like the perfect fit for me!0 -
Welcome, Teacherkd9!
Kcurtis, I like your profile pic, too. What's really odd is that you look like my mom. The first few times, I had to do double-takes. You look more like my mom than I do. :laugh:0 -
Jenny sorry about not posting but I went back and read it because I thought to myself, what did I miss. When I read it again I was like that was awesome. I know sometimes when there are a lot of postings going on, I just skim through and usually miss something. Sorry about all of that but I know that has to be exciting getting that letter!
AFM: I tested this morning and it was a BFN. Somehow this month, I was not as disappointed as I have been in the past. I think it is because I figured that there was no chance because there was no medical intervention. I am still having cramps and my temp is still somewhat elevated. If I am not pregnant, I think that I might jump for joy if AF shows up. AF has only showed up 1 time in my life without medicine and that was my very first at 14. When she never showed up again, my mom had me put of BC. So when I was on BC, she came and when I wasn't she was on an extended vacation. For the past 2 years, she has shown up with the help of Clomid and Provera.
Date night last night was fun except for the movie. We saw The Dilemma and it was really bad. I did okay with the calories because we ate a light dinner and so I hardly wanted any popcorn. Today, DH is on day 5 of some kind of stomach issue. Yesterday he was feeling a little better but then he ate somethings he propbably shouldn't. Today he is working from home and I won't let him eat anything but toast, yogurt and bananas. Good news for him is that he has lost like 5lbs.0 -
Awww, kt4au, how disappointing that must be with temps elevated for 19 days. I think I'd be in tears... I'm glad you're handling it well.0
-
KT- boo! That sucks! But at least your Dr is aware and ready to take the next step!
So today has been boo! Forgot to eat breakfast, so I grabbed Starbucks, then realized when I got to work that I left my leftovers that I had planned on eating for lunch in the fridge! I'm starving and getting ready to venture out to find food!
Welcome teacher!0 -
I know what you mean, Alisa. I grabbed oatmeal and yogurt for my food today, but nothing for lunch because I can't chew anything. So I ran to Walmart and bought a Ramen soup cup. Holy sodium, Batman. Not a great choice, but easy to get down with limited pain. I hope you found something healthy.0
-
Hey guys, I feel like I'm intruding here. Is this a group I can join? Or is it too late?
I've been married since October (pretty newly-wed) but we have officially been not preventing pregnancy for only a month now. I'm just wondering if there's anyone in my boat.0 -
Please do join us. We've got a couple of women on here who have just started trying and some who have been trying for awhile... and some who haven't started trying yet. Just feel free to chime in with whatever you want to talk about.0
-
HMKAN! absolutely you can join! Welcome! As Erica said, we are a very diverse group of women at various stages of ttc!
So, I ended up choosing something close, fast and terribly unhealthy! There is a little shack about a quarter mile from my office so I decided to try it...I had the most delicious hotdog I have EVER had...mustard, relish, chili, cheese and onions...OMG, it was like melt in your mouth yummy.. the combo I got came with two hotdogs and fries for $4.50....I ate both hotdogs and half the fries...I need a nap...0 -
Thanks guys. You all seem pretty tight. Sounds like a great community!0
-
Welcome teacherkd9 and HMKan!!!!
Kt – I’m sorry it didn’t work out this month for you.
Alisa – I did that other day. I slept through the alarm and run out of the house without breakfast, lunch or snacks. I ended up at Dunkin Donuts for breakfast and Quizzno’s for lunch.
We were supposed to go to dinner at my cousins tonight but we rescheduled because of the weather. I’m still at work and DH called to tell me he’s picking up Chinese and of course I said yes…there goes my healthy day. :ohwell:0 -
Here it goes (with notes)
Alisia - my goals for the rest of January is to stop my junk binges at night....that's all....LOL I only want one little thing. If I can get that under control, I'll be really happy. Did anyone else set any new goals?
Heather - I'm sorry that you're feeling that way too. I've been lurking on your diary since you were talking about the low GI foods.....I have to do my groceries tomorrow and you gave me some ideas of meals so thank you for that.
KT - I know what you mean by jumping for joy if AF starts on her own - mine only ever did when I took a pregnancy test (and that just got expensive.... ) I have my fingers crossed for you that if the BFN is right, that it does start on its own. I know what a major major step that would be for you (just happened for me last cycle!!!! Which is why we're trying so hard for this one to get the timing right....):flowerforyou:
Alisa, Erica & Ron - splurge eating has been my specialty this week so I know how it feels to be slightly out of control. Alisa, now I want a hotdog with PB and chocolate (gross I know.....but see what food talk does...just jumbles up the cravings....LOL) Erica, has your jaw swelling gone down any? Ron - weather's still bad here too...is it snowing there? At least you have workout options with the shovelling. It's going to be the coldest weekend of the year (abnormally cold....feeling like -30C or -17F). The roads are not good though, we had two major accidents in the city involving over 40 cars combined......looking forward to spring at this point.
AFM: Cinnamon Bark taste is back. I haven't changed my medication this time so I'm not sure what's going on. I'm thinking that it happened around this time in my cycle last time. I think that my body's sensitivity to the medication might change with the pending ovulation....does anyone else experience anything like that? I cannot eat chicken right now - tried the other night and then at the Chinese buffet we went to at lunch. I cannot eat eggs right now either (they're just baby chickens....) Beef is typically okay and pork....which kind of sucks because I do prefer chicken to either....but I'm all wonky. Came home from work tonight and crashed. Just woke up (4hours later)....blah.....don't want to eat. Hubby's going to make me PB on toast with a chaser of yogurt and baby carrots for dessert....so I at least get a balanced meal, but it won't be heavy......CD12 for me......things are starting to perk up....LOL
Welcomes to Teacher & HMKan!!!
Also - I was trying to add all the newbies as friends, but apparently I'm not allowed to add more than 5 friends in 10 minutes. I'm going to try and come back in about 30 minutes, but if I miss you, it's not personal, I just don't know where I left off We have so many new faces in here. Please add me as a friend - if we're not already!!!!0 -
My jaw is quite a bit better, Pam, thank you for asking. The cold has now moved entirely into my head instead. :grumble:
I'm sorry the nasty after taste is back. I hope it goes away quickly!0 -
Pam - Cinnamon bark again? That sucks. How long did it take to go away before? And yes, it snowed yesterday but not too much, the problem is the ice. But Tuesday we're supposed to get hit with a really bad storm. I want to go back to days snow meant a day off of school instead of shoveling and driving into work.
Erica - Hope you feel better soon!
I don't think eating bad will be problem today because I've been trying to decided if I'm going to throw up or pass out since I woke up this morning.....food has no desire for me right now. At this point I'm really praying that I am pregnant b/c I think my other option is the flu. I promised myself that I wouldn't test until CD33, lets see if I can wait 7 more days.
Stupid question that I should already know - What does AFM mean???0 -
Good morning ladies. Erica I think you hit the nail right on the head...weight loss and ttc are very self centered affairs in our lives and we do tend to want to talk about our own issues while not necessarily taking the extra step to comment on others comments/questions/situations at the time. I guess sometimes it is easier and sometimes it is harder to do...some days I just feel like I'm totally alone in this journey when everyone around me is either beautifully at their goal weight, or happily not with a baby inside of them. Tends to make a girl need some support...even if it is from people she's never met on the internet (my DH calls me "netnerd" when he sees me on Facebook or MFP. lol!). I'm sorry to see Jenny go...especially when we all have good intentions....
ron-sorry you aren't feeling good...drink lots and lots of water and take it easy. keeping my fingers crossed for you!
erica-glad you are feeling better. nothing like being sick when it is already miserable with frigid temps and snow all around us!
pam- you are more than welcome to look at my log for ideas. I do that with others sometimes too. (just don't look at yesterdays cause it was my "free meal" and I don't think ben and jerry's is low glycemic at all! lol!) and cinnamon bark in your mouth sounds awful! gotta love the side effects from meds that are supposed to be making our lives better!
kt- I always say it isn't over until the fat lady sings (AF shows her ugly face!). in december when I m/c for the 2nd time I was having a hard time with a blatant positive test (one would be pos then next neg) and my mother reminded me that she didn't test pos with me at all (even blood tests) until she was 4 months pregnant...stranger things have happened. But sorry things are unknown right now, that is always the worst part for me. I just want to know! So...I shouldn't even waste my time with "The Dilemma"? It looked like a really good movie! That stinks.
alisa- I always hate when you take the extra time to be prepared and something happens and you find yourself starving and totally unprepared in a world of delicious food! I try and always have a plan B (like an apple, almonds, cheese stick) but sometimes even plan B fails. Oh and my husband flies Apache helicopters. He is an instructor pilot actually. That is why he is gone all the time at courses. They always have to be the first to be up on new info. He thinks he is invincible when he flies though and has done very dangerous things while he was deployed last time that should have in all rights killed him...that is why is scares me for him to go back. But it usually are the guys that ride on the outside of their helicopters to save another soldiers life that live until they are 100! lol! (or at least I hope that's the case). And when you said goose I immediately thought of ER. We are big ER fans (the early years) and would still call his character "goose" in that show! lol. But yeah I would see how you'd hate to use that comparison. Well I'm a military wife who totally understands it all...so if you ever need an ear on that note, I'm here! Btw....any news on you with testing? I'd be going nuts if I were you right now! What CD are you on anyways?!?!
Welcome newbies! Looking forward to hearing all about you!
Well the scale didn't move an inch again this week. I did try on my "skinny jeans" and they fit good (which was not the case 3 weeks ago for sure). So I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing and maybe it will catch up on the scale. I'm resting tomorrow and going to do strength training with my friend and then my husband and I are going up to the gym to do an hour of cardio. I'd rather be doing something outside...but with all the snow (and we are going to be getting more tomorrow) and the frigid temps, I just want to hibernate the rest of the winter and have someone wake me come Spring!
So I'm officially in the 2ww. CD18 for me. DH and I talked last night and he is excited for the possibility of it happening this month. I told him I'd be bummed if it doesn't happen but we'd resume our plan to do Clomid next month. I also made him and my closest friend promise to not allow me to test until Feb 4th. The last thing I need is to go crazy pants again like December...peeing on every stick in a 50 mile radius! lol!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!0 -
Wow! What a lot of information to take in.....
What a shame that heather has left, but I totally agree that you can be quite self-centred when concentrating on your own journey.
I really hope you ladies who are in your 2ww have some good news to post soon! (Fingers Crossed!)
Well my weight loss is currently at about 11lbs (not officially weigh in day yet though) after 3 weeks, which I'm really pleased with, but still no sign of AF (since Oct) even though I have now lost the weight I had put on since I was last regular.
Well I started taking a homepathic remedy called Agnus Castus (has anybody else tried this?) this week, which studies have shown can regulate your cycle. So I'm hoping that within a couple of weeks I may start a regular cycle......However....DH and I have stopped taking any precautions and have decided if we are lucky enough for it to happen without being in a regular cycle then that's great news. I am having some wierd feelings in my tummy, but I may be reading more into it than I should or maybe not ?!? Maybe I've just ovulated or maybe AF is on her way.......Confusing!!
On a lighter note I got the news this morning that My Sister in Law has given birth to a baby boy at 4:00am today, so after I finish work Im gonna travel over to see her and have some special Auntie & Nephew time! (this is my first time of being an auntie and im sooo excited!! He is a little premature though - about 7 weeks and he only weighs 4lbs but he seems to holding his own so far - fingers crossed...)0 -
What a shame that heather has left, but I totally agree that you can be quite self-centred when concentrating on your own journey.
Jenny left...I'm right here!0 -
Sorry!! So many posts and so many names i get confuzzled!!! )0
-
Congrats, Aunt Charliewigan! I have never heard of Agnus Catus. Do you know what's in it?
Hooray for skinny jeans, Heather! More muscles and less fat may not make the scale move, but it sure can make you feel better about yourself.
Ron, AFM means "as for me." That one took me awhile to figure out. I hope you feel better. If it is a prego symptom, you should test positive. However, I get nauseated every two week wait. Progesterone is a horrible, nasty hormone.
Kcurtis, I'm so glad your renter finally paid! I'm really sorry that AF showed, though.
My cousin's wife had her baby last night. One pregnant cousin down, two to go. Yesterday also happened to be our one-year anniversary of starting this adventure. Just waiting to test... or for AF to show. I don't feel my typical PMS symptoms. Yesterday, I got all my typical pre-migraine symptoms: nausea, dizziness, tingly boobs but no headache... but maybe that's because I downed a Dr. Pepper. I am super congested today, but I can finally close my mouth completely without screaming, so that's progress. Probably won't be working out for a few days though, judging by the fact that my husband who got this stuff on Monday still sounds and looks awful.0 -
This is the description on the site from which I bought the tablets.......
"Agnus Castus (Vitex or Chaste tree berry)
This is the herb of choice for helping to restore hormone imbalance and increasing fertility. In one study 48 women diagnosed with infertility took agnus castus daily for three months, 7 of them became pregnant during that time and 25 of them regained normal progesterone levels.
Agnus castus is particularly helpful for those women who have a luteal phase defect (shortened second half to the cycle) or those with high prolactin levels, because it stimulates the proper functioning of the pituitary gland which controls the hormones.
Agnus castus works to restore hormonal balance and can be used where there are hormone deficits as well as excesses it:
Regulates periods
Restarts periods which have stopped
Helps with heavy bleeding
Increases the ratio of progesterone to oestrogen by balancing excess oestrogen."
More than anything I was impressed my the medical study results, and if it works it will have cost me £10 so well worth it as Ive got enough for 3 months!
Will keep you all posted with any developments.......
ericaroo - how many days until you test / or due for AF? Fingers crossed for you...0 -
Yes, Vitex works well unless you have regular periods or PCOS. I hope it works for you.
I'm due Monday. I probably won't test until Tuesday unless I can convince my husband not to be pissed if I test early. He thinks it's wasteful and/or it jinxes the pregnancy. And we've been disappointed before. I had one cycle that went three days past my usual luteal phase and the morning I was going to test AF showed. I hate seeing only one line, so I'm on board with waiting until I'm late.0 -
Happy Saturday ladies! (I didn't take notes, going to rely on memory and if I forget, i'll get you guys on the next wave this afternoon :-)
Pam - Yuck that bark taste is back! It's been gone for a while, but you said they didnt change your meds? So any other changes that could be causing it?
Ron - Keeping my fingers crossed for you, I get little waves of nausea every now and again...I always think "Gosh, if this is what m/s is going to be like maybe i need to re-think this preggo thing"
Congrats to Charlie and Erica on the new addition to your families! My close friend (the one i thew a babyshower for before she moved to VA) had her daughter on wednesday! I'm so sad that i can't go play with her...
Heather - It was hard for me to separate goose and Dr. Green when i watch either the movie or ER too! :-) That is scary what your husband does...We always joke "If you ever have to land on Afghanistan soil it's a bad day for you" since he'll be flying on and off a carrier off the coast.
AFM - Temp was at 97.18 today! I do believe i have officially O'd and am in the 2WW....although i'll probably still count days from last Saturday since i'm not sure which day i O'd...although i do think it was Thursday bc starting last night and into this morning my nipples are on fire! That's what happened the last time i O'd so i'm hoping we had the timing right...
Off to take the inlaws to the airport then try to get the house put back together and get laundry done to get ready for the week!0
