    12/3: 3.25 miles (5.23 km) @ 7:50/mi. 3.25 miles for the month. 46.75 remaining for my goal.
    12/5: 3.25 miles (5.23 km) @ 7:56/mi. 6.5 miles for the month. 43.5 remaining for my goal.
    12/7: 3.50 miles (5.63 km) @ 7:38/mi. 10.0 miles for the month. 40 remaining for my goal.

    (That was a low-volume week.)

    12/9: 3.76 miles (6.05 km) @ 7:43/mi. 13.76 miles for the month. 36.24 remaining for my goal.

Today's run was at 33 degrees F with light freezing rain falling and icy slush on the side of the road. I rinsed my shoes under warm water when I got home, since they got splashed with road salt-laden water many times. My Smartwool socks kept my feet warm, though, even if they were wet.

I twisted my bad ankle the other day. It was bruised pretty bad and I've been limping on it. I had to take a few days off. It is a little better today, as I am barely limping, but it is not yet healed. I am going to try and walk today to make up some miles. So far I am at 15 out of 60. Ugh this sucks.

Sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself! I had a knee injury in May - a reinjury where I had banged myself up in a bike crash a few years ago - and I stupidly did 2 or 3 more runs until the pain went from being moderate to being severe. I then had to take two whole months off of running. Don't do what I did!

I went out in that today too but in NH it was more of a rain/snow mix. I don't know whether to be bothered by the constant cold/wet runs or glad it was at least 32F instead of 10F like yesterday.

Good for you! I've done the rain/snow mix too, with cleats (Stabilicer Lites, but I'm thinking of getting the Yaktrax Run). I prefer it to be at least 35 or under 30; then you know what you're getting.

If you go off road at all the Katoola micro-spikes are worth the extra cash. They're over kill for the road unless it's really icy, but I haven't found any trail they can't handle. If anything their incredible traction may make you too confident.

And @lonewolfrunner- I just may have to admit I'm beginning to like this ;)

Oh Elizabeth how awful. I hadn't even reasoned through to needing to change the locks. So glad you did! Hang in there, you're stronger than any curve life throws your way!

Thanks Fabnine! However i do get to happily report that i jumped the gun on getting my locks changed. I had to do it at the time, knowing there was a possibility I'd still get my stuff back. I was completely locked out of my house and it seemed prudent to pay for only one visit from the locksmith.

Looks like I dropped it on my way back in to my complex. Someone must have picked it up right away and put it on the wall on the opposite side of where I dropped it, which is why I didn't see it. A neighbor found it yesterday and tracked me down last night. Everything was there including my cash! There are still good people in the world!

Anyway did my lunchtime run in heavy rain, actual temp 47F, feels like 27F, wind gusts at 40mph, that was an experience!

12/1. 3.12 miles (regular lunch run)
12/2. 2.25 miles (fast, speech class day)
12/3. 2.20 miles (speech class day)
12/4. 2.08 miles (boss in office)
12/5 5. miles (solo run commute home, no stroller)
    12/6. 1.41 miles to swimming w/stroller
    12/6. 2.62 miles w/stroller to breakfast
    12/6. .50 miles w/stroller to ballet
    12/7. 3.10 miles w stroller
12/7 3.27 miles solo looking for my jacket.
    12/8. 3.20 miles lunchtime run
    12/9 3.01
    Total: 31.76 miles

I am so glad you found all of your things! The locks are an easy fix, the license is so much more problematic and difficult to fix!

Looks like there are huge storms hitting or about to hit both coasts! Be safe running everyone!!

Well, I guess I'm out from peroneal tendonitis. Very disappointed, I was really looking forward to this winter training. At least I have time to heal between now and some runs I was hoping to target in the spring. So hopefully I can hit those by taking care of this properly now. I have been doing the ellipticals at the gym which don't seem to aggravate it, but I am not getting as good of a workout from them as compared to running. At least it's something though.

    Good luck everyone!

    12/2 - 4.07 miles
    12/3 - 2.5 miles (treadmill)

Give it time to heal and then start back slowly! The bicycle at the gym is good too and really helped me keep my legs in shape when I couldn't run.

I had a wonderfully fun weekend wine tasting in Northern California with my family and friends! I did not however get a single run in other than the one before we got in the car to drive up. I ran nearly 7 today and my work schedule at this point looks pretty light for the rest of the week so hopefully I should be able to get some good runs in every day!

Sorry to hear that! Better don't walk too much - if you are still limping, as you write, a couple days of rest might be more beneficial in the long run than a few extra miles this month.

Not sure I'll have time to go running tonight as planned, so I dragged myselft out of bed early enough to get at least a short run in before work. Rainy, cold, and, worst of all, still dark outside... I know it's weird when in the evening the darkness doesn't bother me at all, but in the morning I find it really annoying. Or maybe the get-up-earlier-part is the true problem... ;-)

Today was so amazing — it was 41 when I left, which for a Florida girl, is very cold. But I ran so much better and faster. The breathing is so much easier when it’s colder I’m learning! Felt like I could go a lot longer, but sadly I did have to get back to get ready for school. Then when I got home and walked inside, it felt like a sauna! We turn the heat on when it's below 60

A neighbor found it yesterday and tracked me down last night. Everything was there including my cash! There are still good people in the world!

I had a feeling something like that would happen! Just like my husband's wallet! There are more good people than bad, although if you watch the news you wouldn't think so. That's why I rarely watch/read the news anymore!

So sorry! I don't know what that is... but just like I avoid the news, I avoid reading what all these injuries mean because I tend to psych myself into thinking I have something if I read too much. Hope it heals quickly.

Last week I was up every morning, excited to run. This week, sleep has been winning out. I'm not usually much of a sleeper so not sure what is going on. Probably doesn't help that I know I have Zumba at lunch so that I'll get some physical activity... Regardless, need to get going!! Will hope to get one in tonight, even if it's short! I need to break 800 miles at least!! And then plan to get up before work tomorrow!

You all are very inspiring! Great work! For those of you injured, heal quickly! And Elizabeth - I am so happy to hear that your keys, license and cash were found!

    12/1, 4.5 miles, treadmill
    12/2, 4.5 miles, treadmill
    12/3, 4.5 miles, treadmill
    12/4, Zumba
    12/5, 4.5 miles. treadmill
12/8, 1.5 miles, treadmill (&Zumba) - a pure frustration run (family drama), felt much better after!
    12/9, Zumba

    19.5 total; 70 goal
