My training pace is 10:30-12:00 minutes per mile.
My race pace is 10:30-12:00 minutes per mile.
My all out sprint pace is 10:30-12:00 minutes per mile.
My slow recovery pace is 10:30-12:00 minutes per mile.

    It's good to be consistent!

I realize that other peoples pace does not affect mine but it is helpful to know what other people run. I think that maybe part of my frustration may be that my treadmill is not accurate. It has me running 11:97 mpm whereas anytime that I run outside (and I feel that I am running the exact same pace according to my steps and breathing) it says that I am between 9:23-10:40. I think that my treadmill is not giving me full credit for the mileage that I have been running?? I am looking forward to more outside runs this weekend! Again, I appreciate everyone's responses, it makes me feel much better!!

@leighbee I completely understand the middle of the road feeling because that is how my life has always been and will likely always be as well! :) I never expect to be "fast."

I know for a fact that the treadmills at the Y rip me off... just one more reason to hate those nefarious machines.

Who's training for a race here? What distance? Any time goals?

I'll be running the Blue Angels Rock N Fly Half Marathon on March 21. I missed it last year due a knee injury about 1 month before the event. I've been nursing that knee back to health for a full year, and I'm finally ready to make it happen. It will be my first half. It is a goal I never ever believed I'd be up for.

:) thanks! don't know why that didn't occur to me but the only CC runners I see are 14-16 year olds...
IDK why, but here we use XC for cross country. And for Lacrosse it is LAX, which is quite popular in FL.

Wow, so many posts the last couple days! I can't catch up with everything... but...

@briebee7 -- I hope you are okay. Sounds painful. I pretty much always run in the dark and one of the rare days when I ran in the daylight, I almost fell! I caught myself before I did but it was one of those ugly trips where you take some giant steps and then catch yourself. And, it was very close to my house, and some neighbors were outside talking.

@cooter_mom - so excited for you!!! It will just keep getting better -- and I love those pictures from the other day.

@shanaber - massages sounds like a good thing to add to my list for next week.

I used to use LAX when I had to go on travel to California in the Los Angeles area. ;-)

I am also used to XC for cross country. Never seen it as CC.

We used to write CC with an arrow through it. Zoooooom ... super-fast like an arrow ...

ETA: We were slightly nerdy though.

don't feel silly- I only run 2x a week- I have to remember what page I posted on- I simply cannot keep track. I run very little... but every little bit counts!

and to keep with the times XC and CC were interchangeable for me.
LAX_ has always been L.A.X- as in the airport- but after I moved to VA/NorthEast- where you know people acutally play the sport of Lacrosse- I learned that LAX also equalled lacrosse LOL.

    Week update for me.
hard to keep track when you're only 2x a week lol- no worries!

    3.2- 2.48 @ 23 min (seriously ice conditions-didn't die- celebrate)
    3.4- 2 miles @ 37 min (no sports bra- walking incline FWD/BKW)
3.7 - 3 miles @ 30 min (treadmill- slow run- and bothers my shins- still done)
    3.12.-4.17 miles @ 35:42

outside- brisk- not a breeze but the air was crisp- just felt windy- even though it wasn't to much- was hoping for 5 but I have class in 15 min- so no go. Hoping to get another 'longer' run on Saturday while my car is being looked at- woot woot- I felt quick today- but it definitely felt like work. I'm alright with it though.

    Total March Goals
16.65 Miles of 60 hypothetical miles

New hi vis vest- I finally got to wear- I'm actually pretty happy with it- it's not noisy- I can adjust it and I feel a lot more visible with it on! :D

Oy vey, I'm falling behind. I've done a mile swim and a strength training session since I posted last and today I coached my Girls on the Run team.
They ran a few strides to warm up, then about ten minutes steady. Their 5K is a week after my marathon in May, can't wait.
Currently in an airport, I'm ready for a nice sunny desert run tomorrow morning!

@arussell134‌ - I have a 5k on Sunday and the San Francisco Half Marathon in July. Thinking about running the La Jolla Half at the end of April. I would love to hit 25 mins in the 5K but this would be really pushing it - my PR is a 29. For the Half my goal is to get under 2:15 - I think it is doable as my PR is 2:17.
@marekdds‌ - don't feel silly! You are doing great! Looks like you will hit that goal well before the end of the month if you keep at it!
@JoRocka‌ - love the new vest.

My run today was not great, I was tired. Went to the gym for training and lifting heavy felt so good! Guess I wasn't as tired as I thought

@JoRocka - Love the vest! Looking good! I'm training for a HM on May 3rd and hoping for a sub 2:00 time...
@ddmom0811 - Have a great race on Saturday!!! I would love to try a 10K, they seem to have very few of those in my area...but it seems like it would be such a great racing distance.
@autumnblade75 - Welcome back! Your tenacity is admirable!
@cooter_mom - So awesome to see your excitement! You're making me itchy for spring runs!!!
@4leighbee & @briebee7 - Nice job with those hills!! In Maine, everyday that I'm not on my treadmill is a hill training day. I feel like an old grandpa..."I run up hill both ways..."
@johnsonnelly - My pace is ridiculously slower on the treadmill as well...not sure if that's my body rebelling and expressing its distaste for it or if it's as @LoneWolfRunner says and its robbing of us of miles. I naturally run faster outside without significantly elevating my heart rate and also feel less sore afterwards. I just remind myself that the treadmill is serving a purpose...and that's keeping me running through the months that I wouldn't be able to run otherwise!!

3/1, 2.2 miles, snowshoe (not counting as running miles)
3/2, 5.0 miles, treadmill (C'mon spring, I want off this treadmill!)
3/3, 6.0 miles, outside!!! It was cold, wet and icy but worth it! ;)
3/4, rest, was able to get a walk at lunch in the 40 degree sunshine!
    3/5, 4.34 miles, treadmill
    3/6, 4.34 miles, treadmill
    3/7, unplanned rest day, life...
    3/8, planned rest day
3/9, 4.34 miles, treadmill & Zumba at lunch
3/10, planned rest, hosting book club! But I got a quick walk in at lunch!
3/11, 5.2 miles, OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't call it spring weather quite yet but I will call running outside in the sun GLORIOUS!!!
3/12, 4.17 miles, dreadmill. Body expressed its distaste for the treadmill after yesterday's outside run...I had wicked side aches the whole time and I had to keep slowing my already slow pace.

34.84 miles total; 100 miles goal

@ddmom0811 - Enjoy your 10K! Are you running the entire way with your daughter or are you both doing your own pace?
We each do our own pace. The first time we ran a 5K together on Thanksgiving she thought she was going to stay with me. I had told her before hand to just go ahead but she said "no, I'll stay with you!". Then after a few minutes, before mile 1, she said "Ok, see you at the end!" and took off.

Have great runs today and this weekend everybody!

    3/2 = 4.56 miles
    3/3 = 2.26 miles
    3/4 = 3.52 miles
    3/5 = rest
    3/6 = 4.51 miles
    3/7 = rest
    3/8 = 8 miles
    3/9 = rest
    3/10 = 5.02 miles
    3/11 = 3 miles
    3/12 = 4.59 miles
    3/13 = rest

    Total = 35.46

Was going to do five yesterday, but I was running with my friend and she quit on me at the end. Guess I could have kept going for those last few tenths of a mile, but I felt bad. This is the friend who I did the Couch to 5k with starting in October... at the beginning she told me that there was no way she was going to be able to ever do the 5k, and now we have gone way beyond that! However, I am training for this half marathon which she doesn't plan to do, so sometimes that makes it a little awkward. She enjoys doing long runs with me, but sometimes wants to "give up", especially on shorter runs, before I do. I want to keep running with her, but I also have a training schedule I feel like I have to stick to. I feel bad running on without her, but I guess that's what I'm going to have to do soon?

    Anyway... keep trekking everyone!

I am really starting to hate the treadmill, luckily it is getting lighter at nights now, so I can start running in the evenings, around 21:00ish instead.

Thanks. I should really still be taking it easy on that ankle. I got a brace for it, but that rubbed my heel and I have a HUGE blister. I felt it forming, and said "I don't even care - I'll worry about it later. I'm doing 3 miles!" But I don't know if I'll be able to use the brace again today, with that blister. And I'm not sure the brace even helped, anyway - my ankle doesn't seem to be any the better for it. I haven't decided what to do about it, today, yet.
