Confession: I feel like I've lost more weight than I obviously have. Just went out to buy new running shorts but when I tried some on they looked bad. Very, very bad. I instead bought some capri-length leggings that didn't look great, but are at least *FUN* (stripy). Also got a new sports bra in a size that I've never been before (throwback to earlier in the thread!) I'm excited about that because it has a normal clasp rather than the pull-over your head type which are really hard to get off when you're all sweaty.

Yes! I love the sports bras with clasps. So much easier to get on and off.

I'm 10 pages behind, but ME TOO!!! It's a requirement in a sports bra now.

Yes. I'm slowly replacing my non claspies with the good ones.

    What are the good ones?!

Ones that clasp in the back like a regular bra so you don't have to wrestle a tight, sweaty sports bra off over your head.

Ok... I thought all sports bras were like regular bras, lol.

I have this one. Haven't got any issue with it. It's pretty cheap too...

I have that one, it's pretty good, but I also have this one, and it's so much better - there is a flap in the front to adjust how tight you want the girls to be held in (super-tight for running, less tight for yoga or chillin')

    Confession -

There is a Russell Stover Outlet store about 90 minutes from my house, and when we drive to Disney World, I always point to the billboard and say we should go there - but we never do. For the past 8 years, we've never gone. Driving back from my mom's house in New Port Richey, we saw the sign again, and decided to go.

BAD MOVE! I could hear Sammy Davis in my head when I walked in...

We walked out with $33 worth of candy... and most of it cost 29 cents a piece! I am the proud owner of a CASE of Russell Stover Maple Cream Eggs (that would be 36 of them).

Upside? They only have 140 or so calories, and it will satisfy my chocolate cravings better than a candy bar (at twice as many calories!)

    Enjoy! (and ration)
Several years ago we found ourselves in Fairfield CA and went on the (free and quite interesting) Jelly Belly factory tour. Left with 10 x 2lb bags of Belly Flops - the ones that don't quite make the grade. So yes, we drove home to Canada with 20lbs of Jelly Bellys.

I'm quite proud of myself - I think I've only had 3 since we stopped!

I wear the same stinky workout clothes for several days without washing. Ewww gross, I know. Always change my socks though lol

I do the same thing. Usually my shorts only get washed once a week, and 2-4 days of exercising in them a week.

Sheesh. You all have been busy today. Lots of good stuff and some newbies.

I went to the doctor to discover what I had feared. Strep. I wanted a few more days off work but not like this. I used my last PTO day today so tomorrow I have to use a vacation day. Sucks! My mom took me to the doctor and now she's cleaning my house. It's really nice being taken care of.

Ugh. That is the worst and what I almost guessed it would be (I was REALLY hoping it wouldn't be though). I'm so sorry you have to use vacation days for that! :(

Yeah, it really sucks. Hopefully I don't get my husband sick because he doesn't have sick days and he's already using his vacation days for our anniversary trip.

You all are so nice. Thanks for the well wishes.

I'm lucky enough to have never gotten a sunburn. I do wear an SPF 50 or 100 spray if I'm going to be out in the sun for a while though. Don't spray 100 in the house, it sticks to the floor like crazy!

I need to pick up some prescription sunglasses.

The first spray I ever used put me off spray for a while... just a little bit of overspray made the bathroom floor treacherously slick. I won't use the spray moisturizing lotions for that reason.

Banana Boat came out with another non-sticky type but it's only available in spray format, so I'm trying it again. And I have an Australian Gold spray that I use at work -- in my carpeted cubicle, not in the tile bathroom.

Jeez, guess I'm OCD about safety too.

    Congrats -- that's so awesome!

I'm very pale like a bunch of you have said you are. I used to try tanning, but it didn't take. I've never had a tan or a sunburn in my life. I finally stopped trying and embraced my day walker skin. I sometimes get embarrassed by it, but I figure if people don't like it screw them. Being able to blind people with the color of my skin is a super power! ;)

My daughter shares your super power. In our house we call it rockin' the Casper. :)

I'm also very pale & once had a co-worker comment on how white I was after coming back from Hawaii for the second time. The first time I went to Hawaii I had learned my lesson the hard way. Over there the heat is very dry & I thought well it's not as hot & humid like it is in Pennsylvania so I don't need to cake on the sunblock. Ugh! Huge mistake! I had huge welts all over my one arm from a horrendous sunburn. Luckily they didn't hurt, but it definitely taught me to be more vigilant while out in the sun.

I'm pale but by choice- I can tan really easily but I'm super OCD about having sunblock on anytime I'm outside! I'm terrified of wrinkles and skin cancer :#

You are very smart! (say the hypocrite tanning addict) I gave it up several years ago, but started again this past March. I love it! But I seriously need to stop.

I love tanning, even if it isn't PC! Wish I could fit it into the budget this summer, but daycare and after-school care is not cheap!

Definitely. I no longer have those expenses so I can afford it although I know I shouldn't. Pretty bad though when oldest grandson comes over and I'm not home and he asks grandpa, "Is grandma tanning?" Has a strange ring to it. In my defense the grandma of my other 2 grandchildren is at the tanning salon almost every day the same time I am.

My grandma was always laying out in the yard or by the pool. When she was about 65, she started going to a tanning place because she moved into an apartment and felt self conscious laying where other people could see her. She tanned until the very end though! As far as I know she somehow escaped skin cancer. We were actually surprised.

My mom was a huge tanner too, but she did get skin cancer. Thankfully she is OK now, but she is much more careful about wearing sunscreen.

Glad your mom is okay! And, I really don't plan on tanning the rest of my life. I had given it up completely for several years. I'm planning on stopping next month when my membership expires. I do take meticulous care of my skin because I HATE that crepey, leathery look.

Oh, I didn't think you planned to do it forever. You just made me think about her when you talked about the other grandma at the tanning salon. My grandma just really loved the sun. She used to tell us stories about how her high school teachers would tease her about ditching class on nice days to go to the lake.

I think the guilt is getting to me due to this thread today. And because earlier this morning I ordered a new tanning lotion and moisturizer that I was excited about. And then this topic came up today. Pretty sure it was meant to send me a message.

That is funny because I kept looking at your pic before and thinking, that looks like a picture from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind but I hadn't seen it in so long. I figured you just looked like her. :) I loved her hair in that movie too (and I really like that movie).

    It's a great movie.

I'm super picky about sunscreen.. read too many stories about how toxic they can be.

    www.ewg.org/2015sunscreen/ was an eye opener.

I'm really bad at this quoting thing, but that bottom link- I must confess it took me a minute to figure out what's going on there. I thought it was a nursing bra! LOL!!!! I get it now and it's a great idea.

I know, right?! It seems so weird, until you use it :)

I found this thread last night after looking for posts to make myself feel better for once again thinking I could eat out of the carton of ice cream without over doing. Like I hadn't learned that lesson already. The first two pages made me laugh til I cried, I so related to playing games with a food log that only I see. I didn't realize I wasn't alone. Thank you. I will be returning often.

    Welcome to our safe place!

Feeling like crap today. I had a bad night of emotional eating..estimated 2000 calories over my goal ( I tend to not measure/weigh foods when I binge). I've done way worse..some days up to 5000 over! Anyway, I woke up today with an extra 3 pounds of water weight. Still did my workout though..running 8 miles with that bloated feeling is NOT FUN, but I did it. I knew I had a binge coming on at some point because tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of my mom's death. Since that day last year, I have become a completely different person..I can't accept it, can't move on, can't find peace. I've become angry over little things and find comfort in eating. I gained 12 pounds because of it...would have been much worse if I didn't work out every day to counteract all the emotional eating/binges. I've been pretty good over the past two months..losing six of those extra pounds. I just need to get through today and tomorrow and really focus on finding a different way to deal with my emotions. I already feel like I'm going to give in again today though. :( Ugh! Sorry to be a downer.

No need to apologize - that is what this thread is for! I'm very sorry for your loss. Grief is a long, difficult process. Any option of seeing a grief counselor or specialist? I'm sure it has been an incredibly long year, but in the big picture, a year is much TOO short of a time to expect to "get over it". You never get over it. You just learn to live with the pain.

Feel free to vent more here instead of eating - we're all here to listen.

Thank you (and to everyone else who has responded). And yeah, I have thought about seeing a counselor but I really don't think I ever will. I'm doing ok so far today...logged everything that I plan to eat and still have almost 600 calories left over from my run this morning and the 3mile walk with my son. My husband is taking the day off from work tomorrow to spend the day with me...because I just have no idea how tomorrow will be...afraid to relive the moment I got the phone call and be alone.

That is incredibly supportive and sweet. He sounds like a keeper. Prayers for peace and comfort during a difficult time.

I'm totally judging all this mint nonsense. Mint and chocolate do not belong together!

Wawa's white chocolate peppermint syrup (for delicious, overpriced coffee beverages) is my favorite thing about winter.

Oh, I wish you didn't say this... I just recently discovered that there are WaWas really close to Disney World (where i go a LOT)... I can just imagine how delicious that would be in hot cocoa!!

I'm scared of sounding a little bit silly here... but I wanted to feel really good about myself, so a few weeks back I ordered a corset. It came today and I put it on and I'm LOVING IT. I actually feel kind of sexy in this thing!! This is a little embarrassing...

Confession: I was craving mcdonalds and finally caved. First time in prob two years that I have had it. It was so SO SO good! I always feel ashamed for eating there because I know how unhealthy it is for you. But I have 400 cal left for dinner and now I am good for another 2 years!

The good side is. I went and bought two more free weights to add to my collection so that is a plus

Bah once in a while isn't going to hurt at all.

I actually haven't dared going back to fast food places. Worried I'll be disappointed and/or I'll end up spending the rest of the day on the toilet.
