When I started this, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance. I was on Metformin for months. I've successfully reversed my insulin resistance, but I've been too scared to come off the Metformin - I think I convinced myself that it was the only reason I've successfully lost the 69 pounds - that I'm incapable of doing it on my own.

I did stop, as of Wednesday. I still scared :)

Hey I found out recently I have that I'm not on metormin yet. What kind of a food plan are you using? You can message me or add me if you want I'd like to hear what you found works for you!
    Thanks!

@AngryViking1970 and @WestCoastJo82 Thanks I probably will. An evening that doesn't involve talking about Spongebob , farts or other bodily functions might be nice!

I'd be lying if I said a lot of the conversations my wife and I have involve farts and bodily functions. That's how you know they're a good person lol.

There are lots of conversations surrounding bodily functions at our house too!

It's so nice to know I am not alone :)

Today I took the kids shopping with me and told them they could each spend $1 (I'm cheap, I know, but that's not my confession). We ended up in the candy aisle, of course, where I spent 10 minutes looking at all of the kinds of chocolate and checking calories. After 10 minutes, I finally decided none of it was worth the calories and left with nothing. It was not my first time doing this. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but once in awhile I want chocolate, but then I can't find anything worth the calories. I ended up having a sugar-free chocolate pudding. Why oh why can't I find chocolate that's worth it!?

I guess that wasn't much of a confession. I'll try harder next time.

Astor Belgium Dark chocolate with sea salt! I wish I could find this in stores, but cannot. my cafeteria sells them at work, and they are soooo yummy!

ok guys I am on the fence about something. I got asked out on a date this weekend. I don't date because in reality I don't have a lot of free time and I am certainly not wanting to take any time away from my son. But in spite of all this I am considering going. What's a girl to do?

Go. Enjoy. Doesn't have to be serious or time consuming. YOU set the boundaries! Give a try. You never know, right?

I think this is awesome advice!

Thanks guys. I think I will probably give it a go!!! Now I have to find something to wear lol

I think you should go as well. It may be fun!

I still need to catch up but I wanted to vent on something.

No one probably remembers but I have talked about that guy who is on the phone at work all the time and everyone loves him even though he barely works...he just let me know he won some award so he is getting a plaque/prize at 10 today.

    I'm like seriously...

This just happened to me. The conference I am at they did recognition awards. The guy in my group that won got recognized for 2 projects I led. One was done before he came on board. The other he came in on the tail end and had zero to do with. I totally led them. This is like the 4th time over the years this has happened to me. No one in an operations driven organization ever appreciates marketing communications. But I PROJECT LED these. This guy is connected.

I confess as soon as the awards were over I grabbed my stuff, went to hotel, and am now drowning my sorrows by reading this thread. :( I am feeling very sad.

Ohhh that totally sucks! :/ Sure sounds like some sort of favouritism going on. Mind you, some of those ambitious types just rack up the undeserved awards so they can move up to their next rung... maybe he'll be gone soon?

Is it me or is it mostly women posting here? Did we scare off most of the men?

We have xMrBunglex and Uncle Fester sometimes. We ran off the rest with our talk of TOM, bras, breastfeeding and whatever else. :D

I confess I was actually going to post TODAY that my confession is that I think I run off all the men in this thread. Example:
-- I asked @tincanonastring if he worked at my company, he asked me if I was stalking him (I deduced where he came from by his posts) and within a week he was gone.
-- I started engaging with @AgentOrangeJuice on messaging (he expressed sympathy about Oberon, I asked him about his new job, etc.) he disappeared.
-- @flatasapancake posted a new chest picture, I said impressive! You are slowly working your way around your body, is your *kitten* next and he never came back.

I have checked on all of them...they are all still posting (not much from @AgentOrangeJuice though so he may truly be busy).

Like in real life, I scare all the men away. Sigh.

No, do not blame yourself! It's kind of funny, when you type it out like that, but I highly doubt it has anything to do with you!

Perhaps not but I am not a big believer in coincidence. But luckily mixmode has promised to stick around and I haven't scared off xMrBunglex yet....

Nah, it wasn't you. I had to take a forum hiatus to attend to IRL stuff and by the time I came back, it was 1000 comments later and I just never picked back up in this thread. Those other guys, though...that was you!

Confession: I promised to catch up on all the missed posts in this thread and I am fully committed to breaking that promise. No regrets...y'all post too much!

    Yay!! Welcome back @tincanonastring!!

Has anyone seen @ShibaEars? I miss her

I was wondering about her as well.

Can we just cancel today? :unamused:
As I've mentioned, hubby is out of town, and now just so happens to be the perfect time for Raelynn to get sick. As in, puking all over the bathroom and kitchen sick. She refuses to eat, just wants water, and is currently lying down in her bed watching a movie as that's all she wants to do. Not to mention, the actual act of vomiting was enough to trigger one of her daily multiple anxiety attacks. Needless to say, at this point neither one of us is concerned at all about eating and not really doing much of anything else either. :frowning:

Yikes. I hope your little one is feeling better soon. Hugs!

I'm sorry to hear that your little is sick! Hope she feels better soon. :)

Beat off at work bathroom to thoughts of new reception girl

I think it's funny that you say this, but on your page your inspirations are

    > Intimidating the boys coming around for my daughters
    > To be the best example to my son that I can be

that new reception girl is someones daughter too y'know, and I'm not sure that is a good example of being a man now is it?

I confess: I am judging you for judging that post...BUT his friends list consists almost entirely of attractive females with their make-up covered faces and body parts exposed....I smell a misogynist.

I normally skip past those posts, but that made me a little sick in my mouth and had to see what kind of creep we are dealing with. Turns out to be a hypocritical one. So I felt a little urge to publicly shame him. Judge all you want, if I found out a man did that at my place of work or that new receptionist was my {hypothetical} daughter, he would be one testicle missing.

Edited because men are men, whatever, but don't make it public, I don't want that visual thanks

Edit again because: Why are you judging me for judging that? (out of curiosity, not picking a fight), it's disgusting and offensive.

Because it's supposed to be a 'NO JUDGEMENT' thread. /irony

The fact is, I totally agree with you and you were right to call him on his bullsmurf. Imagine if the woman herself found out about his 'fantasizing'. Life is NOT a porno, she would likely be horribly offended and never want to work near you again, dude.
It also definitely had the air of a confession that was merely posted to try and stir stuff up.
Men ARE men but, in my opinion, grown men don't 'beat off' to the new receptionist while at work. They should wait until they get home for that kind of thing. Do WORK at work. Or...post on a forum about the crappy way you've been eating lately and how you have skipped workouts and how you are posting things at work when you really should be working(I am guilty of all these things).

Also, I noted in my post that he was likely a misogynistic hypocrite based on his friends list, which, I confess, was also me judging him.

TL;DR: I wasn't ACTUALLY judging you. I was agreeing with you and then confessing my own judgement of 'Yeah, this dude is a misogynistic hypocrite who should keep his self love schedule to himself'.

ETA: Some things just come across poorly in textual format. Or maybe I am slightly terrible at expressing myself in the way I actually intend... :disappointed:

I also think he's the same man who had the sleeping girlfriend.

    I can confirm this.

    ETA: Quotes

Well if I knew this man IRL I would report him to the police as a predator and a threat to society. (Little bit too much?) As I said earlier I put my big girl panties on this morning, I've gone all feminist, did my Stonglift session at the gym and I'm PUMPED! well... after my 15min accidental nap at my desk. :hushed:

I think napping at your desk is awesome!

Put on your big girl panties and suck it up cupcake are favourite phrases of mine
    My girlfriend hates them

True, most men aren't like that, but men like that are more vocal!
As a woman myself, I didn't think I could really speak up about it with much surety, but I agree--It's a case of the minority making the majority look nasty. [...] And I doubt there are many men who are nasty/immoral enough to do that kind of thing in a professional setting, no matter what they might do in the privacy of their homes.

@Just_Ceci, not surprisingly, there are also men like that who are not vocal about it... or who are otherwise smart enough to 'keep it under wraps'... or who would seemingly only 'share' such crap with 'others of their kind' (a few of which I happened to (unfortunately) be physically close 'enough' to, one day, several years ago... and overheard... and they seemed to be oblivious to the fact that someone/anyone/I could hear them... they were medical students... and one of them was going to be starting his gynecology rotation the following week... and what I heard him say resulted in my from-that-day-forward disallowing any male medical student to ever be present for any gynecological anything that I would ever need done in any teaching facility... suffice it to say, his comments about what he looked forward to, with pelvic exams, was not something I'll ever forget)...

...and while that was one male, I'm also aware that something akin to 'the greater numbers associated with a vocal minority' aspect of 'customer service comments' whatnot would seem to apply -- for every one person who 'speaks up', there are many more who remain silent -- though of a similar mindset/reaction/'take'...

@Susieq_1994, while I agree that there are likely not a lot of men who would actually engage in 'the act in question' in a professional setting, it doesn't mean that there aren't more who think about doing so, or who otherwise 'wait until they get home'...

...and while no actual 'percentage' could be realistically ascribed to 'what fraction of men are like that', it goes without saying that the world would likely be a far more intimidating and fear-laden 'place' for women, were such men's thoughts to be known by every woman whose body any such man were to 'see'...

While I see your point, here's something that a lot of people don't stop to consider when writing off people as nasty or vulgar:

Humans are sexual beings; there's no doubt about that. Our bodies were created in a way that is attractive to each other, and in a way that causes us to be aroused by the bodies of those that we define as attractive. This applies to both males and females. Sexual thoughts and fantasies are a natural part of ALL of us, whether we like it or not, and labeling someone as a bad or nasty person for thinking those sorts of thoughts about an attractive person would mean labeling most of the world as such.

When someone leaves their house in attire that's flattering or revealing (this applies to BOTH genders--I'm not being sexist in any way or judging anyone here), they should know and acknowledge that others will see and appreciate what is accentuated or shown, opening themselves to the possibility of others regarding them sexually.

If someone is aroused by any given person, and that leads to any sort of... erm... "follow up" in the privacy of that person's own home, I don't see why they would be a bad person. Many people indulge in those sorts of fantasies over celebrities, and I don't see anyone calling them nasty. Having them about regular, attractive people around you is just as normal.

The key here is the treatment of the attractive person, as well as the privacy of the matter. If you treat them like a normal human being, you're polite to them and don't make any kind of nasty overtures, then you've done nothing wrong by finding them sexually attractive or even thinking sexual thoughts about that person--these two things are both completely natural. Acting on those sexual thoughts in the privacy of your home is also a normal reaction.

What would be nasty, vulgar, or inappropriate is treating or regarding them as nothing but an object of desire and thinking of them as such--which is the vibe I got from the original post being discussed. I think someone is nasty or vulgar if they go around announcing that they did something like that or discussed it in an open group of other people. I also find it nasty, unethical, and inappropriate if someone did that in a professional environment--we aren't animals, and we should be able to control ourselves.

The Islamic side of the matter is a whole other novel that I won't go into, but to make it short, Islam recognizes the above as fact of our human-ness. :)

Just my two cents--I hope I came across clearly. Although considering how long it is, there might be a whole dollar in there... ;)

I confess that I've done a completely crazy amount of cardio (stationary bike) today to offset the equally crazy amount of butterscotch-flavored baking chips that I ate today. My rear is killing me. :D
