I CAN BUTTON AND ZIP MY PURPLE PANTS AGAIN!!!
  • After four weeks I can finally do a side plank with my feet together and by only balancing on my arm and feet like you're supposed to and hold it for about 30 seconds on each side. I am so excited to be getting stronger.

I got invited to do a handstand workshop with a friend. I'm now considered someone you ask to join in a fitness class because I'll enjoy it and be decent at it!

I just put on a pair of shorts! I haven't worn shorts since I was a teenager.

2 week vacation with no logging. I ate and drank but also made smart choices and exercised. Stood on the scale when I returned and had no weight gain!

That's an awesome NSV! Love that.

My clothes are fitting better. I'm finding improvements in my yoga practice - able to get deeper into twists etc. I'm also continuing to progress at gym. Not that it's a competition but when you're using the same weight kettlebells as the men it feels pretty sweet.

My golf swing's becoming scary good, especially on my irons. Now if only I'd improve my putting. I've also discovered sleeveless golf shirts are amazingly cooler!

Went into Armani store a few weeks ago and the sales clerk said "size 38" to his colleagues when asking for a jacket for me. He didn't even measure me. Was in a privately owned store today and the owner immediately said "38". Neither even bothered to take out the measuring tape. I was 44 at my brother's wedding four years ago.

I returned from maternity leave to work. So many people commented on my weight loss. Someone even said how tiny I was. I've never been called tiny. I was shy and said something like "well I'm not pregnany anymore so I'm definitely smaller :) " and they're insistent that I've lost more than baby weight. And I have. I'm a little more than 20 lbs less than when I got pregnant. And 42 pounds less than 6 weeks postpartum. And I was in srubs which can hide a lot!
Also, my way too tight pants from 3 years ago fit!

At the Y, they have "Wellness Coaches" that basically keep an eye on the gym area and can spot you if needed. My husband has gotten friendly with a really young kid who works there (who is really strong) and when they chatted yesterday, I came up. He told my husband that "For a woman, she's really strong". I'm ignoring the first part because he's a teenager, but I was tickled pink over that comment!

I was shopping yesterday and bought medium shirts and a size 29 jeans (Canadian sizing). I was actually happy with the way things were fitting. My back fat is basically gone and my love handles are small. I did a happy dance in the dressing room

Was at lake at 6:15 this morning. NO ONE there. Had entire lake to myself. Swam out to the 750m marker and noticed two large swans heading my direction from across the island .... they were trying to cross my path and then stopped and decided to swim about a meter away from me. For about 50m we swam together. Just the three of us. The sun was cracking over the tree line, lighting the water rippling from each stroke I did. This entire scene lit right up with a morning golden glow. Just a really beautiful and majestic moment that was brought to me by having a lifestyle upgrade of focusing on weight management and fitness.

That's really lovely. Being able to recognise and appreciate a moment like that is so important.

Thanks! Yes various small moments make up for it all. Glad you appreciate it.

My trainer is on my Facebook; last night she posted about a 'client' of hers. She went on about how proud she was of this client, and how her client was soooooo close to a major milestone and weighed less than they did in junior high however many years ago, and that the client was showing true dedication and endurance.

Yup. I was totally that client.

A colleague at work says she can clearly see a difference in my face claiming it is more lean and my neck is skinnier.

On a TMI note, when I dance naked at home to Gloria Estefan, my butt doesn't jiggle at all anymore. LOL :D

Ran 600m and it didn't even feel that hard! Yes, it's not far but when I started 200m almost killed me. For the first time in my life, jogging actually felt kinda good instead of total misery.

Seriously, that's amazing! Way to go! :)

I bought a new pair of jeans and a new button up shirt today in a size smaller than I used to take and there wasn't a single muffin top or gaping button hole in sight :-)

No more muffin top, or cellulite, or thigh jiggle. Even the bat wings are getting smaller. When I buy lunch in the company cafeteria, I get two meals out of it by eating half, and reheating the other half the next day.

Had to pull out a smaller pair of jeans today (non-stretchy 14s) and they fit! Some muffin top, but smaller than the one I had when growing out of my stretchy 16s. Woo!

Today had a few. I jogged 4.5 miles this morning, which is the furthest I've gone thus far and I even got up at an insanely early hour to do it before a short morning work shift despite closing last night. After work I wore my size 8 skirt to the mall and tried on a size 12 dress (chest and stomach affect size so before now smallest I had tried dress wise was 14). Sent my dad a picture and his friends he was with were astonished at the difference since I had weighed probably almost 220 when they had last seen me and now I'm at 142. I also could go in almost any store and try on things, which is very different than shopping experiences I've had in the past. No worry of the sizes going up high enough.

We had a potluck at work today. I measured everything I ate, skipped breakfast to save calories for lunch, and only ate one piece of cake. ONE!!! I honestly logged every single thing I ate. I'm doin this!

First NSV would have to be getting accepted to my chosen program for school! But in the process of packing I tried on about 5 pairs of pants that used to fit me before I gained the extra weight...and they fit. I honestly couldn't believe it was real so I tried them all on twice. And now today, a bathing suit I bought the winter that totally didn't fit at all is wearable. All in all, I gotta say it's been a pretty great 2 weeks! :)

    That's awesome!! ☺

Completed couch to 5 k. 30 minutes of running. I'm elated
Nice! I'm starting out and can't wait to be able to do just that.

Thanks. You'll be amazed at what you body can do in such a short time. You've totally got this ☺
Was a bit disappointed at my weekly weigh in this week as my loss slowed down significantly but instead of feeling sorry for myself and getting a takeaway or something like I would have before, leading to a slippery slope, I have tightened up my logging & macros and kept going! Roll on next week's weigh in!

    Great choices!!!
