My best clean squat- 245- I have a 250 but it's dirty and a hair short.

Best DL to date- I'm happy at 295/305- but I pulled this easy- surprised the hell out of myself- was also long hard fight for that- very mental for me.

Great videos in here! I'll hafta have my wife take some of me sometime. I should for form purposes anyway.

How do you all get videos of yourself solo? Just sorta prop the phone somewhere and edit all the prep out later?

$20 tripod. You can shorten the video right on the phone or on youtube later. Easy.

I just set up on a chair or the floor. The self timer works on video as well- so that cuts down on most of the fussing. But I use my phone to edit or I use instagram- then post that video. It's easy.

Thanks! It'd make sense to actually use my phone for some of the things it can do besides play games occasionally. lol

Holy cow! So much good stuff here! I got a little busy over the weekend and have not been able to check-in until now.

@nakedraygun Are you sure that wasn't your opener??

I was having a bad meet that day, so I went conservative and it wasn't a platform best. I wanted to finish the meet strong. It was a push/pull meet and I went 5/6.

Nice job, particularly on the deadlift with no belt.

I prefer to pull without a belt too. This weekend, because my back was little tender, I wore a belt - altered my set-up enough that it made the pulls difficult. I didn't get the lift on my second attempt. Removed belt on last attempt and set a new platform best. Great lift btw @JoRocka ... I love how you go nuts at the end! :p

These will be my openers at USAPL State meet in Phenix City, AL on Feb. 20 Bench - 142.5kg (313.5lbs) Squat - 205kg (451lbs) Deadlift 205kg (451lbs)

That's my man meat right there!!!!! :kissing_smiling_eyes:

I'm just going to link to my most recent and best meet video (don't worry, I only show my third attempt for each of my lifts so it isn't super long). That isn't actually my best bench or deadlift, but the only ones that count are in a meet so these are all meet lifts. :P

    TL;DW: My best meet lifts are: squat 281lbs / 127.5kg, bench 126.7lbs / 57.5kgs, deadlift 347.1lbs / 157.5kgs at 147.6 / 67.0kgs bodyweight.

Wow these are awesome! I love your happiness @ash_law ! I get the same way when I nail a lift.

@Carlos_421 .... You'll never ever never be as strong as you want to be. Just go do it. Try to get passing lifts on all attempts and let the awards fall where they may. You may even surprise yourself.

    I thought I'd share this...

I took a long break from the gym and all that time I spent in the gym before (1988 - 2008/9) I didn't deadlift or squat even once. I'm old (44) and growing up in a rural area, I didn't have the easy access to programming and training that we do now. (Internet, smart phones, YouTube, MFP, Tinder, PornHub.) It established habits in me that were very hard to break.

I began deadlifting in July of 2014, after three months of getting mobile enough again to lift. My first attempted deadlift (115 lbs) I pulled my back so bad I could only curl in the squat rack for a couple of weeks. (Old habits.)

This video is from my first max deadlift test 9/27/2014.

    https://youtu.be/2COKOzf7XVY?t=25s

415 lbs - I failed twice. I ended up with a 395 lb. 1RM that day and with ugly ugly form. If my form was a newborn, not even a politician wouldn't kiss it.

Fast forward to December 2nd, 2015.

    https://youtu.be/j4nxLMpwSuY?t=16s

    415 lbs x 7.

Strength and form much better, my deadlift face, meh, about the same.

Its one thing to write down your numbers in a journal, but its another thing to see your progress.

Dang, I love living in the future.

    Snip.

So in 1.5 years, you advanced from getting injured by 115 lbs to lifting 415x7 like a boss.

    We. Are. Not. Worthy.

    But we are inspired.

Thanks! I wasn't trying to be inspirational, just that we lifters now have awesome tools today to further our strength goals like never before.

I think it should be mandatory that all gyms must have tripods on the floor so lifters can video their lifts and free Wifi. The gym I go to finally got on board with providing free WiFi.

The day you start lifting is the day you are forever small and weak. Just go! I did it even though my bench press and squat are sad. I enjoyed it.
