@lilaclovebird do you work for the Federal Govt? That sounds just exactly like what they do around here, lol. Sorry about your coworker...

@TK6299 Nope. I work for MD Anderson Cancer Center. More specifically, University of Texas Police System, but my paycheck says MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Of ALL the things I could be craving right now, why does it have to be Chinese food?
Like some chow mein would totally be the *kitten* right now.

i ate nothing but crap, generally speaking, the whole time i was on the road this past week and a half or so - but somehow, only managed to come back a pound and a half heavier. certainly grateful for that, but also having a hard time getting back to basics. those microwave burritos in the breakroom downstairs actually whisper to me through the glass doors.

...which is more troubling than usual because...well, they're freakin' microwave burritos. you'd think i'd have food mirages about something that was actually worth the trouble. :)

    Okay...rant coming

Who in the hell calls at 0030hrs and wants to pick-up their small child!? Nevermind that the father (who has the child) has no idea you're on the way bc you aren't allowed to have contact with each other. No custody paperwork in place either.

WTF is wrong with people?? Don't use your child to cause trouble with the other parent. Don't use them as a pawn.

I hope we don't allow her to go the residence. And if we do, I pray that the father says no, the child stays. I hope he has some common sense. I cannot stand people who knowingly and willingly place their children into the middle of the relationships problems. They did nothing to deserve it.

    It's effing ridiculous.

And sadly not the first call like this I've taken. People suck!!!

Couldn't agree with you more. Don't use the child as an excuse to piss off your ex. There are usually plenty of other things that don't involve the child.

I hate all the paperwork but I guess since it covers my rear, I'll get it done.

    Paperwork is never fun :-1:

I have 2ish hours to go. I'm dragging butt; I went and walked on the treadmill and it was like pulling teeth. I just want to sleep a bunch.

Sleep... what is that.. Oh, my long lost friend where have you been? Paperwork is a necessity unfortunately. Almost over for all of us. Did the workout early early tonight, so now I am dragging too.

We've got a dead spot so I grabbed a spin on the bike and now I think I can snag a quick nap.

I had one day off and slept RIGHT through it. Slept all of today to so I could be ready for work tonight.

Ugh. Thank goodness there are only 4 shifts in this work week(I hope). I guess my coworker's husband is pitching a tent in the "going to die" camp. So THAT will be fun to deal with...not.
It would mean more overtime while she gets everything in order and takes time to mourn. Then hopefully she'll retire and move in with her mother in Indiana. I think it would be good for her.
OR he could jump back and be in recovery before we know it. I dunno. I can't wait for midnight so I can walk around and make amends for the ENTIRE DIGIORNO PIZZA I ate at 3am... :grimace:

So... I plugged my phone in yesterday and the screen went immediately black. At first thought, oh boy, an update. 30 minutes later when my phone was still black and would not respond to anything, I started to get worried. It's officially dead. $20 for Saturday delivery and I need to sign for it... looks like I am staying up tomorrow. Crummy thing is, when I got off yesterday, I had to stay up until 0800 (normally in bed by 0630) so that I could call Verizon. By 0830, they told me that I needed to go to a retail location which opened at 1000. No... went to bed and got 4 hrs sleep before going. Running on empty tonight..

I hate when I get unexpected problems that have to be dealt with during my sleep time. I especially hate it when it's a clinic calling. They know I sleep during the day and call anyway.

Random storm at 5am knocked out power and did damage to buildings and we lost a lot of trees..one even fell on a VAN!
It was like a hurricane just showed up outta nowhere.
Fire department said it looked like a tornado blew through the area across the street. My family was without power for 14 hours.

It was awesome. Let's do it again next week!

The reason not having anything to do with weight loss, but I can't even think of the last time I had a microwave burrito.

When I was a kid though my parents bought them in huge bags from Costco... and that was like the special meal night for the week. Well, at least as kids, we thought so. For my parents it was probably the 'shut the f up and eat' meal that only took them 2 minutes to make.
