    Becs Day 59

So tonight I eat at my folks and tomorrow night we eat out to celebrate my niece being on the homecoming court.. So I decided to do my weigh in and measurements for PHASE 2 of the challenge today.

    I finally got below 130. Today I am 129.6

    START PHASE 1 PHASE 2
    WEIGHT 139.2 / 132 / 129.6
    CHEST 35 / 34 / 33
    WAIST 28.5 / 26.75 / 26.5
    HIPS 35.75 / 35 / 34.5
    THIGH 21 / 19.5 / 19.5
    ARM 10.5 / 10.5 / 10.5
    CALF 14.25 / 14 / 14

My Goal for phase 3 is 125.. but Anything below 127 I think I will be happy. My body has seen some great changes in the last 30 days.. The numbers are only part of the story. The shoulders and arms are more toned, my stomach is flatter, the tone in my booty is much better and I feel good in my clothes.

ALIEM - Welcome back and enjoy the rest of the festivities this weekend. I have a lot of family birthdays in the next week so I can't guarantee my weigh in next thursday will be any good! 20k steps.. good lord that is awesome!

RINDE - Hotter and running faster.. yeck yeah it felt harder but you are doing great. It was amazing back when I was running.. that one day a 3 mile run would feel great and other days it was torture. Ha! Your new program and APP sound amazing! Can't wait to hear all about your progress on it!

First of all, congrats to Becs on breaking the 130 barrier! Whoopee! Fantastic! I'm not sure what day we're on, but I'm not weighing and measuring till tomorrow morning. So I'll be posting my phase 2 results on Friday....hopefully there will be good news for me as well.

Felt rather strange this morning and couldn't get into gear to exercise till this afternoon. Couple of bouts of lightheadedness(i have low BP). Finally pulled it together for my Thursday routine of warm-up cardio, body resistance, and yoga. Did 11/30/19 for an hour total.

Aliem: I think that party weight will come off soon and you'll be back on track in a few more days. Of course, there is more food tonight! Enjoy the festivities!

Hey Becs, your post came up right after I wrote mine. Those measurements are fantastic. Your hips are really getting small! Way to work it!

Rinde - My mom has some BP issues. You be careful with the light headedness. That is nothing to play with. But way to power through and get a work out in. Can't wait to hear about your phase 2 results tomorrow.

Alrighty, time to check-in!( I woke up at 430 and couldn't go back to sleep so decided to do weigh-in).

    Weight:
    July 31: 168
    August 31: 157.6
    Sept, 30: 149.2

8.4 lbs lost in phase 2, above my goal of 6!

    Chest: 37/37.5/36.5
    Waist: 34/31.5/30
    Hips: 42.5/41/39.5

Yay, down into 140s! Only 14.2 lbs to go! According to my weight app, I'm supposed to reach 135 on Nov. 15. Of course, it's not taking into account that my weight loss should slow down over the next 2 months. My original goal was to get there in mid January so anything before that date is bonus!

Thank you, Becs! I've lost just under 28 lbs in 3 months. I am so happy that I've come this far. Two years ago when I lost weight I went down to 138 in July of 2014. By October I was up to 148 and after that the pounds just piled back on. This time I'm determined to not only lose the lbs but to keep the weight off for good.

Oh my goodness! Way to go! That's so awesome! I'm sure you will get there by the end of November! I think I need an extra month too! But way to go! You are amazing. You have lost so much!!!!

Down another .8 pounds to 135. It is still 1.2 pounds more than last week, but it is pretty good. Totally had a nice large glass of wine last night, but besides that, kept the portions in control. Found out that I might be going to Seattle again next weekend for, you guessed it, another birthday! If we wind up going, I will just end my phase two on Friday (one day early.) Finally one day of good eating. It's going to be a hard weekend. Another birthday dinner on Saturday and a wedding on Sunday. I will just have to keep the portions reasonable. Because of the traveling, I think I am going to have to ditch the idea of a Whole30 and just try to do like 80% Whole30 and 20% not, which is really what I do when I eat healthful anyway. It's more reasonable anyway, and I need to start upping the calcium again after I got some blood work back and I just can't take the supplements. I am not very far out of range, but there is only so much spinach a person can eat! I do love kale, so I might try to add some kale salads into my diet next week, but I think some yogurt would be good for me!

Anyway, definitely not going to hit my phase 2 goal next week (127.6). I calculated it and to be not more behind than I was at phase 1, I would need to be at 131.1 pounds. I am hoping to get close to that! I think I might be with Becs and try to be at 127 (or less) by the end of phase 3, which is 4 pounds shy of my goal. Hopefully by the end of the year I can be at 120 (or maybe even break into the 110s!) Next year's project can be to really start toning, though I do see more of that as the fat is coming off!

Aliem: I can't keep track of your party schedule. It's a whirlwind! I'd say you've done a great job to be where you are in spite of your adventures. Keep plugging away and get that calcium in you! You'll get there!

I finished my 2nd week of Couch to 5k this am. Today was much cooler than Wed which made my effort seem so much easier. Next week the running gets bumped up to 3 minutes from 90 seconds. After today, I think I can handle it. Also did a little body resistance for 8 minutes and finished with 23 minutes of yoga for my hour.

Thank you both for supporting me with my weightloss. I really appreciate it. If I can continue to lose, another 6 lbs for phase 3 would put me at 143. Of course, I wouldn't mind a few extra in there and would really like to be at 141. We'll see how it goes. Think I have circa 4 parties in Oct so I'll need to be diligent the rest of the month.

Long check in and reply tomorrow.

Currently at the local catholic high school homecoming football game. My Niece is on the homecoming court so no workout tonight. But back at it with body combat tomorrow 9am.

    Food decent today!

    BECS DAY 61

Went to my first Les Mills LAUNCH Body Combat event. Every three months they launch a new class/routine but I have never gone to one of those classes. WOW... all new choreography and 5 instructors all at once! It was scary, awesome and I am gonna be sore later on. Tomorrow I am going to the launch of the BODY FLOW class. Haven't to a FLOW class in in a month so I bet I will be sore from that too.. Ha! Bring it on!!!!

Aliem - You are killing it ... and all the while being social! That is the hardest thing for me and I am so impressed. And I have had to modify my goals too. But I keep telling myself as long as I am fitter next week than the week before I am making progress. 127 here we come!

Rinde - Congrats on finishing week 2 of C25k. I love love love that program. I think your goals are awesome and you can totally do it. Just keep being awesome. You are absolutely rockin it!

****Side note**** At my gym they have one of those SUPER EXPENSIVE body analyzing machines. I was analyzed in February. My goal is that when I get to 125 I want to go and get it analyzed again. I am hoping to see a distinct different in my body fat % and muscle %. That is one of the things I am working toward now. I am not sure my ultimate goal of 120 is something that I totally want anymore... What I really want is to lose body fat and lean out but add muscle (not body builder.. just fit). I think that perhaps working toward that goal... 122-125 might be the right number. I will reevaluate as I go forward. I think the new scan at 125 will help me with what my body is up too!

Finally lost the Seattle weight! Plus .6 pounds! Tonight is a nice dinner so I'll probably have a drink and dessert! Going to keep the portions small. I'll just have some leftovers! Win win! Hoping to lose a pound and a half by the next check in. It's going to be a stretch! Did my circuits today. Breakfast and lunch was very reasonable.

Becs - sounds great! That is really cool! Good luck at body flow! I think your weight plan is a good idea. I personally am trying to get down to between 115 and 118 pounds and then try to up my muscle %. I'll probably wind up around 118-120. I think the leanest I've been is about 115, but that is really hard to keep up! I want to be realistic. It's always good to modify your goals when you are nearing in on your target. You really aren't sure until you get there. Keep it up!

Rinde - you are so fantastic! Way to keep it up! I am sure you will make it to 143! You can do it! 6 pounds is very reasonable in a month. Good luck with the parties though! Through experience, it's hard to keep up the loss! Just make sure to stay positive. You can do it! You are so close!

    Day 61 Rinde

Got out of the house this morning for a couple of hours and it felt glorious! Went to local salon for trim- I'm trying to let my hair grow- but ended up with a definite cut. It looks good so I'm not too disappointed. Then went to Wal-Mart, a place I despise, but i finally decided to purchase a food scale so had to go there. And wouldn't you know it, the batteries that were supposed to be included were nowhere to be found. Darn!

But I really got excited when my package from Amazon arrived this afternoon. My new body resistance training program book(Body by You) and a phone holder arm thingy for running came. Yay! Did my evaluation to determine my starting point for each exercise and will begin the program on Tuesday.

As for today, I just decided to weigh myself again and was 148.6. I'll take it. No yoga today. Did 18 minutes of body resistance and 42 minutes of cardio for my hour. Food- same as usual.

Becs- so exciting about your niece and homecoming court. And you styled her- wonderful! Yay you for attending the Body Combat launch. Hope you're not too sore tomorrow for Body Flow. Funny you should mention new weight goals with focus on strength/toned look rather than just weight. I've been thinking the same thing. Unsure if I need to drop to 130 and then focus on muscle or if I can stay around 135 and do it. I hope your 125 body analysis provides some answers for you. Guess I'll have to go by the mirror and measurements unless there's a cheap dexa scan in the area.

Aliem: Fantastic that you've dropped the Seattle weight. I knew it would come off fast. A pound and a half might be tough to do in 1 week but you might as well go for it. Way to go on sticking with your workouts! Well done! Seems like all 3 of us have the same plan to whittle away the fat and build more muscle. I've read various info on the way to do it. What is your plan?

Hello, Ladies! I'm Kisha. I've done a bit of lurking on your thread but now I'm off the wall. You three have a great thing going here. It speaks well of you all that you are making progress!

    A little about me:

Like Becs, for most of my life I've had some kind of weight issue and ALWAYS had an issue with food. I love exercise - dancing, specifically - and that kept my weight from really piling on but you know the saying. "You can't out run the things you eat". It's SO true. For the last 8 years up until last September I taught group fitness. I was teaching a lot, up to 15 classes a week, and because I was in a state of over training for so long, a simple rolled ankle ended up breaking my foot! I stepped back from teaching to heal and here I am a year later and, as of this morning, 15lbs heavier, ha ha.

Thankfully, I am not psycho about the weight like I would have been in the past. I know what I need to do to create the body I prefer. I plan on going back to teaching and have the mindset once again to train hard and eat right. I started a 60 day workout program this morning (Jillian Michaels BodyShred, her latest) and will use the program for the deadline to get at least 10 of these 15lbs off. That said, I am 5'ft tall, so watching my calories will be absolutely necessary for me to reach my goals, as will additional cardio.

I am happy to be here. I read this whole thread and I am proud of you! You girls rock! Count me in for the next two months!

Rinde: Just a side note. I saw that you danced with The Fitness Marshall on youtube a while ago. He is SO fun! I have never heard anyone else mention him before. I love his stuff. I used to teach a few of his routines in my dance cardio classes!

So nice to have you join us, Kisha! And so glad your foot is healed and you can get back to what you love. I can't believe you've read all our posts! Unbelievable! I think we're all doing very well and it certainly helps to have the support of Becs and Aliem. Now we have you, too. Just 1 thing...we're actually in phase 3, which means October is our last month. I guess it's up to Becs, who started the challenge if we go beyond.

As to the Fitness Marshall, I found out about him via another MFP poster. Checked him out on YouTube and just loved him. Such fun. I actually planned to do a few of his routines but enjoyed his MeghanTrainor's Me Too video so much that I've done it 3 times in a row on 2 separate occasions. Just thinking about it makes me wanna go do it again!

Hi everyone and Kisha we are so glad to have you! Welcome. And omg I can't believe you read them all. That is awesome!!!

Rinde - you have me thinking.... after the 90 day challenge ends ... does this have too. So I have an idea. After that point why don't we make it a recurring 30 day challenge. Everyone month we come up with goals, share them with each other and keep up all the positive energy and support!!!

    What do y'all think?

    Becs day 62

Got in my bodyflow classs.... so just need a body pump class Tuesday or Wednesday to meet the gym challenge and get that free TRX class. I have more family obligations popping up. Dinner out Tuesday and dinner out Wednesday. I don't see any weighloss happening this week and perhaps going up. Ugh. So instead of bodypump Wednesday night and I am going Tuesday morning! That one counts too for the gym challenge.

And thank goodness for you guys and your positive and exciting responses tonight. I came up some thing I had to go to for my niece and ended up in tears when I got home. This really gave me the lift I needed!!! Thank you!

Becs, I hope you're okay! Wishing you the best! Glad you can get your 3rd class in for your freebie TRX. And enjoy your wonderful family this week. I have dinner out on Tuesday for my best friend's 60th and possible lunch on Saturday for my daughter's birthday. It does get tricky!

I think it's a great idea to keep the challenge going! I know I still have weight loss goals, fitness goals, and body recomp goals. Definitely months of work ahead of me. I'm already looking forward to it now just thinking about it....and I did go dance to the Fitness Marshall.

I am totally down to make a 30 day thing! Because even when I lose the weight, I'll have fitness goals and just maintaining is sooooo hard! Anyway, two terrible food days. Walked a bit today, but was mostly just at a wedding today (and the BF is still not allowed to dance cause of his knee surgery, so I was mostly chair bound) I logged my food the best I could, and was definitely over, even with working out yesterday. I did so well with last nights dinner until the passion fruit butter cake with coconut ice cream came out. OMG. To die for. Totally ate way too much dessert. Kept the wedding portions reasonable, but also ate out lunch so I sure I put all the Seattle weight back on!

Rinde - great job doing yoga, even on your rest day!

Becs - way to keep it going! Family obligations makes it so hard, but you can do it!

Kisha - welcome!!!!! Good to have you.

Sorry for keeping it short. So tired and I am on my phone! Here is to next week!

Well I did 40 minutes of circuits this morning (with the upped weights.) I did do some walking, but I really started feeling sick (like a cold) this morning. I will keep going and get some more in and try to get a second cardio workout in tonight. Maybe a dance one and just go easy. I am back up 2 pounds from this weekend, but at least I am not going to Seattle this weekend after all. Definitely need to catch back up for my phase 2 this week! Food will be limited calories. Going to be more processed than I would like, because there were tons of random food leftovers from the weekend and I don't like wasting food! Plus, since I am sick, some soup might be in order and I am not making it from scratch and I don't have a frozen batch!

Aliem: Hope you feel better soon! Take it easy and don't push too hard!

Did 62 minutes today: 25 minutes of C25k, 27 minutes of FitnessBlender core and arms, and 10 minutes of yoga. Went to MD this afternoon for new scripts and came away with blood work order to check sugars. Have been terribly thirsty lately and I'm drinking about a gallon of water a day. I'm not eating any refined sugar on a regular basis, but I'm getting plenty of it from all the fruit I eat plus the med I take has a side effect of elevated sugars. Hoping there's no issue, but will see shortly. And that's it for today.

    aliem Posts: 326 Member
Rinde - I have those same issues too. Drink tons of water and always feel dehydrated. Always get extra labs done during check ups. Usually the suspect is diabetes, but they have never found a cause! Hope your bloodwork goes well and it's just your workouts causing the extra need for water!

Hello again, everyone. Good day to ya.

Thank you for the welcome! I am happy to hear that everyone will continue after October. The part must go on! Especially since I just crashed it :p

Becs: I hope that things got lighter for you yesterday. Good for you, strategically planning your win at the gym! Is the reward 1 TRX class or an entire series? How many days a week are you Les Mills-ing it? You and your family sounds close, thats great.

Rinde: Yeah! You did Fitness Marshall again! You go girl. When I pull him up on Youtube my husband laughs and laughs. He makes the best facial expressions. I've even donated to him before. I have this idea in my head to plan a road trip to visit all the Youtube classes I love in person. That would be awesome.
About the blood work, I will cross my fingers for you. I don't know if you are aware but fruit sugar is a major contributor to increased diabetes incidences in the country. Maybe you could switch over to low sugar fruit for your smoothies and use stevia if needed.

Aliem: Thanks for the welcome!! It sounds like you have an active social life!

Here are my intentions for the next 60 days. I am 5'0ft tall.

    Phase 1
    Starting Weight: 121.6
    Ending Weight: 115.6

    Phase 2
    Starting Weight: 115.6
    Ending Weight: 109.6

I MUST crack 110, even if it doesn't happen in two months, it is my main goal. I maintained my weight between 106 - 112 for years. I am hoping that the muscle memory will kick in to prevent me from struggling the last few pounds. In my experience, struggling with the last few pounds is more of a food compliance issue. As we get closer to goal we don't have the momentum we started with and are just sick of dieting. I could kick myself in the head for all the times I obliterated a weeks worth of work by listening to the little voice in my head that says "It's the weekend. You deserve it!". That voice is evil, you guys. I'll tell you what all of us really deserve - to be free from the mental and emotional warfare that we put ourselves through when we go back and forth with our eating. I want to be at peace.

Yesterday was day #1 out of 60 for me. I did good!

    Starting Weight: 121.6lb
    Calories out: 2207
    Calories in: 1400
    Deficit: -807

    Have a good day, ladies!
