Went looking at RVs yesterday. Very interested in a 30 foot motor home that is a 2006 in good shape and only $30k! DH wants to go back and check engine, etc. looks like our move to full time wheeling is getting closer. DS is homeless again 'evil GF' kicked him out and threatened to call cops if he went back.
DH wants to look at more RVs tomorrow. He just said. Fun! I love looking at these!
Stats:
185.8 up pound. Had Arby's fish sandwich, and loaded fries for lunch. Then to top it off, chips and salsa for snack. WAY TOO MUCH SALT! Emotional eating from excitement and realization of future goal of RVing.
No squats or stretches
Walked dogs for 1 hour
Steps Apple Watch 9251. FitBit 9208 steps
Breathe app 0
Water 10 cups
Rainy/icy out so home today.

Kelly I lost my older sister to breast cancer eleven years ago this week. She was nine years older than me. She died at age 59. I am now 61. Seeing what she went through effects me to this day. She is part of what got me so interested in health. She said tomorrow she was going to start working on her health and her stress. She ran out of tomorrows because she did not take care of herself today. She did not leave this world peacefully. I mentioned this before that about six months after her passing I had a dream of her sitting and peacefully viewing a lush forest. She finally accepted what happened to her.
She left a big hole in many people's lives including mine.
I think that is why I have the attitude that is if I am not taking care of myself I am being selfish. Running around and taking care of everyone else denies them the chance to take responsibility for themselves and gives me an excuse for denying my own needs. My sister was guilty of this.
That being said there are times when I will be a caregiver. When my DH has this upcoming surgery I will help him the best I can. I am doing the best I can to get myself as strong as I can for this and will take the best care I can of me during this time.

This type of eating really melts the fat off of my body! Since Sunday I have lost 2.6 pounds! Without any effort except the menu planning! My diary is open for those that want to get ideas.
Allie - at least you know who you can trust! I would still go!

I am new to the group as of yesterday.
I forgot to say, you can call me Fran, I am 53, and I am from Atlanta. I am originally from upstate New York. I love seeing the pictures of snow posted here, but I do not miss it at all! You can keep it!5 -
So looking forward to spring. It's cold and windy here again today. I giggle when I read about you girls with the flowers blooming already and leaves appearing on the trees - it will be another 3 months before I can plant my tulips or this darn snow if gone.
Hugs to all
Paula Y
Where do you live Paula? I'm in Montana so yeah spring is far away for us as well!1 -
Sherry in "Columbia River Gorge" - thanks for the giggles!
Well, I did actually get some exercise in yesterday - the beginning for getting my "fight" back! I made the mistake of sitting in my recliner when I got home from work, and didn't manage to budge til 8:00, but I did it. I did 35 min of variation of squats, lunges and deadlifts - very light weights since I'm just getting back to it. Also did some crunches, bridges and glute squeezes (prescribed for pre and post-op hip replacement), and some of my PT stretches. It felt good, and I was glad I did it! Starting back on food journaling today! here goes!
Tammy (Montana)2 -
Had a good lunch - crispy egg on salad leaves and a starter size mussels. Left the sauce and no bread. But I had too much wine. Still hope to come in on calories, but that was the most alcohol, half a bottle, that I've had in weeks. At least I had a lot of water with it.
DH has found a NHS dentist, so he will be going there soon. I said, why don't we combine it with a date lunch as it's in Winchester?, so that's what we are going to do.
He also rang our tour company to give them feedback on our holiday. I'm sure he did a good job. Personally I find the mega expensive hotel hugely amusing! The other thing that we didn't like was the occasional mass catering buffet lunches that were part of a tour. We are paying for personalised, individual treatment, not tour buses and crowds. :noway: They are always grateful for feedback.
Yinka - Glad to find another linguist! German is mega hard with all the genders and cases. Grrrrrr! But it is a language that keeps coming up in my studies and reading. Plus I learnt a bit when I was young. So I am persevering. Are you using the Duolingo app? I am finding it very helpful. It's not the whole answer, but for a free app I think it's great. I loved my recent visit to Dusseldorf and I have been to Berlin twice. They all speak such good English though, you have to insist on speaking it.
Love to all. I think a nap is on the cards.

I see some who reply to specific people have their names in bold. Is that the best way to reply directly to someone? any tips?
grogers I am new here too! You have already inspired me since you have set out great goals! I think I will think on a list of my goals like you did!
MeredithDeVoe I loved Gaga's show as well. I especially identify with her because she had severe hip issues and has had surgery for it - and look at her go now! inspirational!4 -
Good morning all -
Kelly - I'm sorry to hear about your sister. May the knowledge that she is at peace and the memories of those childhood adventures together give you comfort.
Re - How wonderful that your husband is enjoying the pool too! The woman reading gave me a giggle... that would SO have been me if I'd ever thought I could manage it!
Sherry - Thank you for the funny images!
Katla - Crossing my fingers your husband's eye surgery comes off this time, and that all goes well!
Ginger, Chris, joannec433, Fran, & any new arrivals I missed - Welcome! You'll find lots of support and encouragement here.
Today is my husband's day off, which means that he will keep my coffee cup filled all day. It's nice to have my very own "coffee boy" taking care of me!

So true!! lol - even in southern Ontario!
This comment was in relation to the Canadian weather chart posted sometime in the past two days. I forgot to quote it. Sorry3 -
It's just past noon on Tuesday morning here in southern Ontario. I'm still waiting for the freezing rain to hit that has been predicted for the past two days. 2017 has been a challenge so far. I had another gallbladder attack in January and now waiting for surgery in March. This was followed by 10 days of a very bad head cold. I hate not being able to breathe! While this was happening, I'm training my new puppy and getting my house renovated and ready to sell in April. Not a dull moment around here.
The down side is that my low carb diet has been off the rails. It's so hard to get back on track. My cravings are through the roof. Superbowl Sunday didn't help me either!! lol
While I was sick my appetite was very small and I only ate soup or protein. Now my hunger is off the charts. So I have to eliminate fat (as much as possible for gallbladder) reduce carbs and cut back portion. I know I feel better when I'm on track so that is my motivation.
Your support on here is amazing. If you have thoughts on this please share with me!2 -

Kelly, may God hold you in the palm of his hand and give you comfort in your time of sorrow.
OK, so I will give you a giggle at my expense for the day. I was sleeping so well this morning. I had only slept two hours the night before. I was dreaming it was the weekend and we could sleep late....then the alarm went off... its 5:00 a.m. I rolled over and asked my husband why he set the alarm. He says, "so I can get up to go to work":. I said, "its Sunday you goof ball" ! Then he says, "are you alright?". I sat up and looked at him, and said, "Yes, are you?" He said, "Yeah, but its Tuesday". Much to my dismay, I realized I woke up addled. So I went back to bed until time to get up for work.
Its coming a monsoon, I get to my car and that's when my umbrella broke ($30 shot). There was no wind, I didn’t snag it on anything, it was just an onslaught of rain and I heard a funny pop and now my umbrella will not close.
So to my sheer delight (sarcasm) I was stuck in a down pour trying to close an umbrella and get into my car to go to work. I was not able to get it closed so I had to try to wrestle it into the backseat of my car. I finally got it in my car and it is still fully open. So I proceeded to work looking like a drowned rat and an open umbrella in my backseat. Who needs to see out the back glass anyway, right?
I decided to take a quick detour to McDonald's to get a fruit and yogurt parfait for breakfast, since I didn't take time to get anything at home. When I got up to the window, they tell me to pull forward they have to make the parfaits. REALLY!?? You can't anticipate that will be a big seller for breakfast. Anyway, I pull forward and wait....10 minutes later I am calling them from my phone in the drive thru. I am now late for work and still don't have the stupid yogurt. GOOD GRIEF!
I finally get to work, looking like a frayed dust bunny out of the back of someone's closet and get to the office fairly unobserved by the other people in the building. I get settled down and dry out. Then my husband calls while on his break to check on me. Apparently, I freaked him out this morning when I "didn't know what day it was". According to him, I am always on top of it and he was worried something was wrong with me. Golly, a girl can't have an off day without everybody thinking the cheese has slid off the cracker.
Well, that was my morning, I just can't wait to see how the rest of the day plays out. I have a meeting across campus this afternoon. I will probably have to break out the ark.10 -
Meredith: My daughter was also impressed with Lady Gaga. I liked the music but not the theatrics & special effects. I'd have been happier with a stand and deliver approach. :ohwell:
Sherry: I'd work on eliminating the salt by drinking loads of water, and not adding salt at the table. I still eat salty things from time to time, but I've cut way back at home. When eating out, Chinese and Mexican are battling it out for most added salt. :noway:
Kim: I hope your mom's visit is positive. If anyone can help what ever she's worried about, you are the best choice for good listening and clear thinking with a sensible perspective. Don't forget to take care of yourself. :flowerforyou:
Alison: Take care of yourself. Learning who is or isn't trustworthy is often painful. (((hugs))) Vitamin D3 helps me fight off depression. I prefer the liquid gel caps and they make a noticeable difference. This time of year I take 6000 IU. As the days lengthen I cut that back to 4,000 & then 2,000. When days start getting shorter I add more D3.
Kelly: I am so sorry for your loss. (((HUGS)))
Fran from ATL: Welcome! :flowerforyou:
Yvonne in TX: Thanks for your good wishes! DH had a call from the surgery center this morning to get ready for tomorrow.
The plan for today is to leave home some time near noon and take a leisurely trip to the hotel. We will stop to look at some possible home decoration accessories at Michaels, and will also make a Costco stop along the way. So far the weather looks cooperative.

Meredith and Tammy, I liked Lady Gaga's performance so much that I'm going to teach a line on Friday to her song "Born This Way"
Katla, thinking of you as you and your hubby head for the big city and his surgery.
The dogs loved the snow again this morning. We walked for almost two hours.

Barbie - sweet! what do you teach?
also, you may have missed my comment to you yesterday: "I noticed you are from NW WA and have snow. My son and daughter-in-law live in Bremerton, WA and also got quite a lot of snow. My DIL posted a pic of a snowman she made this morning. She and my son were raised in here in Montana, so they chuckle that everything on their side is closed today."1 -
Good evening all!
I figure that the only way to keep on top of all of the great messages that are being shared by this community, is to check in a couple of times a day. Isn't that great?!
So to all who have kindly enquired about my cufflinks, here's a picture of one of my most recent pairs:
I have them on sale in a couple of galleries, but I'm thinking of offering them to a new gift shop that's opened in town. I need to make a few more pairs, though!
And yes, Heather, I'm studying Dutch with Duolingo - it's a great app, especially as it's free. And I can always rely on my niece and nephews to put me right when I'm practising in Amsterdam!
I do love languages, and keep trying to improve.
Have a great evening everyone - I'll check in again in the morning!

Michele in NC, When you said Ann was that a professional photo, was that to me? I guess I am asking because most of you all call me Becca. I took that pic with my tablet! Professional shmofessional!! Technology is a crazy thing.
So our neighbors had a party with lots of people until about 9pm. The problem was when they started being intimate from 11pm to about 2am. At least they have now moved the headboard away from their wall that our bed is against. Apartment dwelling can be frustrating!
Organizing meals a week at a time has been easier. Our allotment of $80 per week seems do able. With less choices its not so much of a dilemma. I get so mental with the nightly banter. "What would you like for dinner Dear?". "Well, what sounds good Dear?". (The words Dear a bit more tight-lipped). He always follows this with, " What are my options?". This is when really flippant comments flash through my brain.. Ha ha!
Hugs to everyone's!

Jolene, you made me laugh, too! Hope you can keep the cheese where it belongs for the rest of the day!
I went to the gym to do my circuit training, and found that a new trainer was there to conduct a class. Since I was the only one there I became his class, meaning I had him all to myself, so no slacking on weight or reps! Ooh, Nancy was a wore-out puppy when done. Great workout, but I had to come home and take a nap so I can play tennis tonite!
Coffee, then start painting the cabinet to match my mirror...4 -
