You don't see those people 24/7 so how do you know what they eat and how active they are the rest of the time...?58

This.
Get to a healthy weight via a calorie-controlled diet and increased activity, then periodically wow your friends by inhaling an entire pizza while gaining only the weight of a substantially-sized food baby.27 -
Of whom in particular are you speaking?0

Move more.5

This is me in my circle. They don’t realize that I do mostly plant based low cal volume eating at home, and work out regularly. Some ppl don’t realize I have a physically active job. When I go out, or I’m at someone’s house, I can enjoy.

its easy to do if you stay in your calories....
years ago I used to think the same thing but spent full weeks with these people and realized yeah they would "pig out" and eat junk but when you counted up their average calories for the week it was regular maintenance.14 -

Why does this bother you so much? You have to do what works for you. I can't eat the same as my 100lbs heavier, 7 inches taller than me husband and expect to not gain weight. Thems the facts. *shrug*27 -
There was a program on BBC (I think) where someone swore that their skinny friend ate way more then them. So the news show took them to task and recorded everything each ate. You can probably guess the result. I will try to find a link...32

Because their tdee is higher than yours. Are they the same height and weight as you?11 -
I was this friend when I was in high school and into college, or at least that was what my friends would say. But they didn't see me 24/7 as mentioned above. Or they didn't understand calories. I would have a can of Coke and a Snickers for lunch several days a week, which to them would be seen as stuffing my face even though that's just around 400 calories total. Or they'd see me eat gigantic servings at Sunday brunch (my college had an awesome Sunday brunch included in the meal plan) and not factor in that most days of the week I ate much less at meals. Plus I had a job giving walking tours throughout the week. And I was a big fidgeter.23

What are you currently doing? Weight loss isn't difficult. You may be making harder than it needs to be.5

As much as I'm loving this conversation, and your riddle me this style replies, the answer is always going to be higher tdee...14 -
Don't worry about other people. You are not them and they are not you. Keep your eyes on your own plate.
You have to control your calorie intake and calorie output balance to get the results you want.13 -
I use to be the skinny friend. I was 125 lbs soak wet now i'm a type two diabetic and over weight. I guess you can say it all caught up with me in time10

Ha, yes! I was definitely on the road to the same results before getting it in gear a few years ago.2
