Afternoon ladies, I love Karen's suggestions on taking a break when there is no break! I do shoulder circles and adjust my posture, shoulders down and head balanced on spine, this tends to help me stay calm. I also think about where my breathing is coming from, deep from diaphragm, not the chest. Great tips!
I am late to the party and have just discovered canned salmon(!) It reminds me of tunafish, I've dressed it up with yogurt and jalapenos and am eating it on cucumber slices instead of crackers--yummmmm
Am on week 2 of eating from my pantry/freezer with no signs of needing to grocery shop. Of course, I will get eggs and coffee when I run out--those seem to be the two items I run out of no matter. But the challenge I'm doing is to use up leftovers, don't waste food and start wearing down the stocked pantry.

pip Yay mom! Funny, I fold the towels the way my bio mom did, without knowing it, not the way Mama did. Stopped ironing sheets, pillowcases when I moved out. . . and most clothes when I retired 2115 days? Yay YOU! Great idea suiting music to your pace. Is there an internet site you can search for songs based on beat/counts per min?
Katla Sorry for the DD/checked bag emotion. Couragia. How would you and she feel if the airline did loose or damage the things she wanted the children to have? Or is there something else going on with DD? Tears and angst seem a little extreme, especially since you offered to help with shipping cost.
Wendy feeling hopeful "instead of feeling hungover and fat" Yay! Galloping bareback sounds like a real spirit lift for you too!
Evie VI your mother and mine, both working gals, and particular about cleaning. Same result here, dust and clutter piling up.
Becca you are making me hunger for yoghurt! (My fave is Fage, I add my own honey or fruit.) Not letting myself buy any til I've eaten down the freezer a bit. Love your humor... "perfect response" amen Sister!
Rita what IS it with men who can't see dirt in the corners or on the edges of the floor? You're right about not stressing tho', I try to keep a grateful attitude, at least he's doing something... ;}
Heather Olly Murs "Dance with Me Tonight"
Joyce you must be so proud of Ellie! Freezing rain? Keep safe and warm.
Ginger Another good day indeed! Only 295 DVDs? DH has a 5 drawer chest crammed with DVDs, along with 2 or 3 skinny disk holding shelves. THe shelves are in the bedroom but fortunately the chest of drawers is in the mancave section of the garage. It makes him happy and doesn't get in my way sooo..
Rats, snoozed the timer and still have 2 pages to go.
Mindful and WARM Hugs to all,
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD.
i did check out a site, don't remember the name, but i didn't like the music and it wasn't my pace even tho it mentioned beats per min. now i just listen to a song and just think if it will b my pace0 -
Welcome back Felicia. Glad you had a good time. Pictures?
Barbie, good for you going for a walk even if it was raining. Hope your friend is doing well.
KarenNY, Good for you eating from your pantry and not having to buy food. I should take a look in mine and see what I can do for meals.

Barbie- "...my father wove a tapestry of obscenity that as far as we know, is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan" quote from the movie A Christmas Story. I raised my kids that swearing was a sign that you couldn't come up with a decent adjective to describe things. I was never a big swearer, until I turned 50. Then, I realized it just feels good sometimes to swear. I don't care much for the f-bomb, but some of the others are pretty fun to let slide off your tongue. If you connect them to some really posh and descriptive adjectives, it can take them to a whole new level. The book I just read, You Are A Badass, has quite a bit of swearing in it; but the author used it in a humorous and down to earth way. It spoke to me!
Felicia- Don't you just love how that vacation sun seems to soak right into your skin and protect you from the winter grays for a while?! Glad you are back! Post some pics if you have any!
Terry, and I guess pretty much everyone on here that is stateside- LOL, I was thinking of responding solely to Terry than realized that everyone in the U.S. is having colder than normal temps, lately. I got a giggle this morning, when our local news team was cheering because today, is the first day since Dec. 23 that the temps have gone above freezing! Whoot! We are having a warm spell at 36*F! This does mean that I can take my kiddos out today; unfortunately I have two with no snowpants and boots! Oh well, the warm spell will continue through Wednesday; then we go back down into the low teens and single digits for a while. The sun is out today and it is just gorgeous!
Penny- Oh my! I will miss you! Busy time of year? Or staying a little more active to ward off the "dark month" blahs?
Terry- Oooops! Forgot to mention that your jewelry is just beautiful!
Lisa- I have been keeping up with your blog, but haven't had time to comment, lately. Just want to tell you that it is one of my high points of my morning; reading about what it new in your life or what your brain is busy mulling over. LOL!
Pip- Yogi is stylin'! I love the little shirt and tie! He looks like he tolerates the accessories pretty well! With the crown and beads he looks like the Mardi Gras King!
Ooops! Gotta fly! One of the kiddos is yelling from the bedroom that she needs to potty! !!! KJ7 -
I will add...
The quilts are in a cedar chest, and we have the towels and washcloths we use on a daily basis in baskets in the bathroom. The blankets are on the beds and stay there year round. Those are all the extra sheets. Two sets for the guest bed and futon and one extra set for the queen sized bed. There are spare comforters folded on the very bottom shelf that I would like to donate, but we still use the pillow shams and matching curtains, and I want to donate them as a set.8 -
Katie Bug - I had to smile when I saw the picture of your linen closet, when I heard people balling up sheets and stuffing in the linen closet, it brought to mind the pictures you shared with us a year ago or so, of all your neatly folded clothes in your dresser drawers. I thot NO WAY does Katiebug do that in her linen closet. I'm very glad you shared the picture.
My linen closet is not that neat but I do have to have all folds facing forward and the towels, hand towels and wash clothes stacked in the same color order, etc.

I'm all set for tomorrow now with my downloads! Thank you everyone. I've picked out around nine new tracks, so I have 12 in total. I think my pace must be faster than some people's because I have short legs and a short stride. I do more of a shuffle than a run. Definitely not high impact.
I am looking forward to trying the play list with the new app. C25k. It lowers the volume of the tracks when the "trainer" (actually just a celebrity) is talking and telling you when to run/walk etc. The old app had its own music and a very nice, non celebrity voice and I really liked it, but they discontinued it. Grrrrrrrrrr! You can switch celebrities, but I have chosen a man with a northern accent. Quite like him.
In the morning I am back at yoga for the first time this term. Hooray! Love my group.
My friend has had her chemo and is going to have a port put in under sedation next week. The op is too early for me to get up there by train, so someone else is going with her. The WhatsApp group is working well. I hope I can sit with her soon.
We are trying to arrange a meet up with "the girls" for the spring up in York, but my difficult friend is being a pain.

SPAM.... I received an email in my "My Fitness Pal" email with a link to a "sex video". I've blocked the sender, NOT clicked on the link (of course) and reported it immediately.
Has anyone else had this issue and is it common/something I should worry about?

Quick drop-in to say there's an offer being put together on the warehouse... yay! Would make such a difference to our finances to a) not be paying the mortgage there... although I did put enough in the account to pay it for a year, so we wouldn't have to think about it every month, and b) to have some substantial savings. I just had to cancel our health insurance through work, as it was costing almost half my paycheck, and everything here would have been out of network, and with the massive deductibles, it just wasn't worth doing. I'm covered by the VA, but it means my hubby has no coverage right now at all. Nerve-wracking. With some backup in savings, we could at least get him the "you-better-not-get-sick" insurance for catastrophic coverage.
Kelly - I love it when you (or anyone) comments on the blog. And love it, too, when people like my co-mother-in-law (daughter's husband's mom) tell me that they make it part of their day every day as well. It may well be like watching a game of pinball, as I'm all over the place... but I tell myself I'm just like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates--you never know what you're going to get!
Back to work, got lots to do, but I've been swimming in data all morning, one of my favorites.
Love y'all, keep a good thought!

Pictures from Cabo:
Snorkeling:
Camel Kiss: (He is taking a carrot from my mouth.)
Camel Ride:
Divorce Beach: (Absolutely no swimming allowed. Sea of Cortez meeting the Pacific Ocean equals a dangerous situation.)
Margarita: (What I spent too much time drinking!)
A sample of fish seen while snorkeling.
Humpback whale rolling:
Humpback whale diving under.
Lands End: (We hiked/scrambled up to the top.)
Lover's Beach (Safe swimming here, on the Sea of Cortez side, looking across the beach to the Pacific.)
Sunrise from our balcony, Sea of Cortez:
The iconic Cabo Arch.
It really is this beautiful. I would go again, and hope to.

Day 2 of this course begins! I took the later bus ... that works. And now the lecture is about to begin.4

Super pics Felicia! Thank you.

I love the Yogi pictures, loved the vacation pictures, loved reading about folding towels and sheets and having them facing out. That is pretty much the way I am. I have not decided where to put my sheets unless I put them in the desk drawer(s). We did not think about a lot of things when we built the house ... mostly closets then had to cut into the bedrooms for them, but, still able to get all the furniture in them. But, we spend most of our time out in the den anyway.
Lost a post due to my modem box being traded out. But, this one is for the quicker speed. Last night I woke up with the strangest things I did not know the answers to. If America has 'time zones' Eastern to Pacific (4 of them) does Europe or other countries have them, too?
That was one heck of a riptide. I have seen other places where one ocean meets up with another and wondered if it was something that had been 'photoshopped'; apparently it wasn't. I know I would not want to get caught up with that riptide.
Have a good rest of the day ... I 'might' check back in just to make sure I don't have pages and pages of posts to read.

Dressed to shoes ;}, changed linens, tackled laundry mountain, made lunch and caught up here (blowing way past the 20 min limit). Time for a nap
Sharon Keira is a pistol. Can see that apple didn't fall far...
Machka Jefferson Starship, now that brings back memories of when they were Jefferson Airplane...
Rye Will they at least pay overtime? sleep well, you've really earned it. Try not to let yourself get too run down. Can D step up to the plate and help cover for B while C is recovering? If not, time to kick it upstairs. You won't be any good to them if you get sick too. A day and a half is not enough to recouperate from such a long string of double shifts.
Karen in VA, Just hate hearing about those 7 hr-no break shifts. How is it that companies in this country can get away with these work rule loopholes? I'm ashamed!
pip Happy Birthday Yogi, you are da bomb!
Katla Apple, yeah, boy have they pooped in their own Post Toasties! Next phone will probably be an Android... love the Samsung commercial https://www.theverge.com/2017/11/6/16611758/samsung-mocks-iphone-x-commercial but can't get past the exploding-pocket-fear. What you said to SueBDew was right on point. Believe I am same vintage as Heather, you and Janetr . Glad your bone density has improved, do you lift weights? Your neighbor might be very glad of a visit. Couragia!
Penny when you do return, would you (re-?)tell us the story of how you ended up at the North Pole?
Heather Low-A beer, hmm, might have to try that.
Terry sorry to confuse, was congratulating Wendy on feeling hopeful and we'll have to ask pip how she got Yogi to hold still. My dogs are Skye terriers... Envy you your artistry.
Janetr Dare not share pic of my linen closet, but, like you, I do keep folded edge facing out. Same color? I confess. I rainbow my tops. ;} This and the bookshelves are the only areas kept in any kind of order.
judefit no pornspam received here from mfp.
Felicia Wow. Your ocean views look so very warm ... and that margarita so appealing
Mindful and WARM Hugs to all,

Katie, your linen closet is awesome. At my house there is an exact place for everything (except what's in Jake's "clutter piles") but even so, my sheets are rolled up into bundles, not folded.
judefit, from time to time I've gotten inappropriate messages and I did what you did--blocked the sender and reported it. I don't think it's worth the energy to be more concerned than that.
I am still a bit sad that my pedometer won't sync to the file on my computer so I don't have all the data from December. Yesterday I saw FitBits on sale at Costco and Wal Mart and considered buying one since they seem to be the rage. I did a bunch of research online and finally concluded that I don't want that much information and I don't want to have to wear something on my wrist. My other choice is to buy a replacement pedometer (same price as the fancy FitBit). In the middle of the night I got the inspiration to create a spreadsheet to keep track of daily steps (I have my December steps recorded on a step challenge thread so I can put them in the spreadsheet) and set it up so I will be able to keep track of daily steps, total for the month, and average for the month and be able to compare month to month. I won't have the nifty chart of steps each hour, but that isn't all that necessary. That would be free and would take about 30 minutes or so on the computer to create the spreadsheet. That fits in to my desire to keep things simple.
