Allie, I would not listen to Tom. Although it would be nice not having to go to court, I think that is your best way to get things solved. Hopefully at court the truth will come out. Let your lawyer deal with it, that’s their job to look out for YOU. I’ve been there and I feel for you. So many emotions are tied into everything which is why I’m saying work with your lawyer and although tom may be telling you the truth, ere on the side of caution and don’t believe what he says. Remember the lies he told when cheating? Sending you lots of hugs and good wishes.
Rita, sorry to hear you are struggling. I think you have a lot on your shoulders and at times it’s overwhelming. Be kind to yourself. DH is an adult and it is his health. Time to step back and let him deal with his issues while you focus on yours. Easier said than done I know. But you deserve to be healthy. Look for one thing you can do today and build on that. (((Hugs)))
Karen, I don’t know who is taking those pictures of Olivia but they are beautiful!
Pip, your fur buddy needs a caption.
Sun is shining! Terry3 -
Karen in VA - Love, love the pictures of beautiful Olivia, what a precious little miracle. Its unbelievable to me that she is a year old already. What a doll!! Thanks for sharing.

Hi friends!
I joined my friend in Portsmouth for lunch and just had mussels and three big prawns. One small wine. It was lovely to chat about all my worries. She downloaded the BBC c25k app, so she might be starting that soon and comparing progress! Then I persuaded her to buy a discounted top in Jaeger. Really nice and she can wear it at the job she is starting in May. I got her to take this pic of me to send to the grandchildren as we won't be seeing them on Saturday.
DDIL sent us some pics last night to keep us going until we can see them again. It was nice of her and reassuring for us. Here is Bea concentrating.
And here are the other two rogues.
I hope my son will let me know how the disciplinary goes tomorrow. I only slept in patches last night, for about four hours in total. Luckily I had some good books to read.

Sorry about the weird sizes!10 -
Just checking in. Haven't logged into February thread yet, and you are already on page 26! I just wanted to hop on and give a quick update that I am excited about.
I had my yearly follow up with my Oncologist last week, and because there were some changes I had to have an MRI to make sure the cancer wasn't back. This week Tuesday was the MRI, and this morning I got the results. No cancer!! There is inflammation and scar tissue on my chest wall from lymphedema in my right arm, but no cancerous growths. Yea!! Anyway, I was going backwards in weight and I've been eating my feelings for the past few days. But today is a new day, and I'm feeling more determined than ever to continue my quest to get healthy!

Feeling very grateful today.

Hi Sisters, thanks so much for your advice. I will try sugar free jello and vinegar swigs. Scales are moving in the wrong direction, away from my Happy Place and I have to do something to reverse the trend.
I was offered another office job yesterday, working in a school like I used to do a few years ago. After thinking it over, I declined. I do not want to trade one prison for another! I would rather downsize everything, our entire lifestyle if need be!, and free my time and brain space up for the creative projects I want to contribute to the world, or experience before I leave this plane. (Spain, here I come.) All the Great Hikes in NZ, here I come. Museums, Gardens, Castles of Europe, here I come. LOL even if it's just virtually! Oh, I ordered a cardboard google virtual reality set off the internet. Apparently you can put your phone inside it and get a cool VR experience. I will have to borrow my daughter's new phone as I still haven't got my good phone back from the ratpoop thief.
So, my latest idea has to do with my youngest daughter and her boyfriend. They are both smart, hard-working and creative. They also are big Gamers. My daughter is really, really good at all sorts of video games. The kind where she is on teams with (mostly guys) people from around the world. And she has got their respect because of her strategic thinking, quick reactions and understanding of the rules of how to win in various situations. My idea is to work together with her and her equally talented bf, to create and animate a better type of video game, that has no (shooting, killing, violence, zombies) but will appeal to an audience that wants to be immersed into a virtual reality experience, such as the Avator world, and solve mysteries and explore new cultures etc. I've been researching what programs and software we will need to purchase in order to create games. Basically, the play station games right now are geared towards young males, from what I can see. The market has huge scope to expand to appeal to a much wider audience. I can see myself as an old lady, sitting in a wheelchair with a VR strapped to my head, flying like an eagle over the ranges... Perhaps the Frozen Fanta went straight to the creative side of my brain. LOL Wendy10 -
Joe is going in for his 2nd DDS opinion this afternoon, think I'll get out the Zumba DVD to enjoy while I have the house to myself
Barbie, thanks will add both Quiet and 4 tendencies to the list. Better than Before introduces the 4 tendencies to help build better habits, much of it resonated. Just took the free quiz, came out obliger but think I have some other tendencies
Kay thanks for telling me what NEGA stands for, I'd have had no clue
Becca yuck! Hope you threw the dressing out. Joe gets on my case as I hate to waste food, but he reminds me its cheaper than getting sick.
sjb good goals. It helps me to pair a strategy with a goal, like "meditate before mfp" (thanks again Barbie!). Is there something you always do first thing in the morning that you could link with logging/planning your food?
Joyce Brava for going to choir practice despite the cold. Hope you felt it was worth the pain, sure everywone was happy to have your humming support!
Katla the appliance repair guy who made our vintage Maytag stop screaming told us that sometime in the 2000's Maytag was bought out by Whirlpool and they're now disposable like all the rest, except Speed Queen. Was sad to hear it. THe Maytags we bought when we married 31 years ago were still going strong when we moved away from them. (new home came with electric dryer and no option for gas.)
Sharon worried about your exhaustion. Do you know the source?
Wendy you sure had me going! Mainlining MacDonalds hahahahaHAH. Leaving the brownine remainder, Amazing! (leave this plane... Spain.. earworm alert, the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain Huge market indeed! To think we'll be able to say "we knew her when..."
Rye I love your 1952 O'Keefe and Merrit and my 1952 Wedgewood, but can't use it 'til we redo the kitchen and get propane. No natural gas on the Wild Rivers Coast. ;{ Wonder if all the extra shift covering wore you down. Please rest til you're completely well, relapses stink and cost $$$.
NYKaren right with you about fear of falling. . . and I hate feeling afraid. Its better here with no ice, but there are still mossy slippery rocky bits waiting to fell me.
Michele "a swig of vinegar" wow that would cure ANY urge... for me. Joe loves to drink the vinegar from pickled jalapenos, it makes my teeth ache to watch. Warm diet rootbeer and donuts for breakfast? Yuck!
Karen in VA Brava for getting some annoying things done. Would you come over and help me purge/hang art then tackle the office/exercise/craft/whatever-doesn't-have-a-place room? Golden Olivia, who would have imagined such a first birthday?
Beth Better is best!
Terry "Hooray for acid reflux!" Now that's a new one! Stand up, sit down, fight, fight FIGHT! (Rooting for you to make your goal )
Pat glad you're back to normal and can taste your healty frittata and fresh asparagus. Yum!
Rita it is so hard to be motivated when our nearest and dearest are stubborn and uncooperative. If he won't let you help him, then you have no choice but to exert your energies to helping yourself. Is there some way you can put his moods out of bounds from you?
Becky O'B Good plan to schedule some restorative yoga after those brutal but effective workouts!
Allie ditto what Terry said. She has the wisdom of experience and has your best interests at heart. Unlike Tom.
Heather two rogues and Little Miss Serious, priceless!
Tracie in WI Halelujah! What a beautiful start to your new day.
Giving up the 20 minute limit resolution, just not working for me. Did meditate before mfp and won't mfp again til after some kind of cardio.
Mindful hugs to all,
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD.

Rori - So glad to hear you had a great time on the cruise and that your retirement is sooooooooooooo near! I retired from my part time lecturing at 55 when I married DH. Best decision ever. Make sure you make time for YOU.

Lanette .. I am not able to hear on the phone ... neither my cell nor my landline. I use a free CapTel phone with free caption service. It's not very good, but better than nothing.
Pat ... thank you thinking of my son and I. I'm biased, of course, but he really is impressive when you consider all life has thrown at him.
I'm still on track for today and carefully planning my dinner. I'm at home this evening instead of at my son's so this will help immensely. Not sure if my husband will be joining me or not ... he's changing his eating habits as well right now, so he'll eat whatever I prepare. Then I'm going to make my second batch of Instant Pot yogurt. This could very well become my newest addiction!

there was an old group shot of kirby, me and the kids and someone asked how we got them all looking at the camera. usually, i am the one that can make them look at the camera. HOWEVER since i was in the pic. i called our "babysitter" that watches them to come by while we were shooting so they can pay attention to her and make them pay attention to her so they can look at the camera. it was a professional shoot3

I have real empathy for those if you with the sugar temptations- I’m not immune, but one binge ( like the equivalent of two candy bars or 8 to 10 sweet cookies) generally satisfies me for a month or two.
Potato chips and salty snacks are my weaknesses, but luckily I just can choose not to keep them around my house. If I do open a bag of such snacks I do not stop until they are gone. No matter the size of the bag!
My healthy eating struggles center more around my great dislike of so many foods. I’m a bitter super taster so all bitter tastes (like green peppers and so many other veg) taste like poison to me. I get sick from the smell of seafood and fish and have never liked the taste. I’m allergic to eggs (and no longer like the taste). I don’t like tangy tastes and find yogurt, cottage cheese, and sour cream very unappetizing. Mushrooms, cooked fruit (like in a pie), gravy, cream of ______ (anything soup, creamy casseroles, etc.) are foods I find unappealing and I try to avoid them. Pasta, bread, pastry etc. I can take or leave - and generally leave b/c the high calorie/low satiety factor.
Doesn’t leave me many caloricly reasonable healthy options, actually. I eat a LOT of chicken. I eat a lot if the same 6 or 7 veg I like and are not bitter (carrots, spinach, snow peas, broccoli, fennel, onions and water chestnuts). A lot of tomatoes and fruits but not berries or apples. My dream dinner? Red meat ( a steak or roast) and potatoes with peas and corn. But that is not often a meal I can partake of on my calories. My nutritional bang for my caloric buck is vegetable soup. I have soup, and most likely a vegetable soup about 8 meals a week.
But I’m a good guest and companion for dining out, unless the menu is exclusively sea food. I can find something on most any menu that I do enjoy or at least can eat without complaint and I’m very fond of ethic spices and specialty tastes.
I also have an odd trick. Due to surgery in my early 20’s I do not taste in 1/2 my tongue. This doesn’t spoil tasting things (eat slowly and let the smell and saliva circulate in the mouth and I don’t notice it). It does, however, allow me to pop very small pieces of unappetizing food onto the tasteless side of my tongue and quickly swallow food that I don’t want to taste. A handy ability!
Still rambling and stop and start sleeping. Back to bed. The good news is I do not seem to have a fever.6 -

Hearing loss... I began losing my hearing at the age of 19 and am technically considered deaf, hearing only 6% of spoken conversation. But that's in a hearing test setting. In the real world, very few people recognize that I'm deaf as I've become very good at word prediction and reading lips ... but even that has its limitations in certain situations. Hearing aides have not been successful in the past, but technology changes all the time, so I'm willing to try them again. Ev
Beth[/quote]
My daughter was ecstatic to get her second hearing aid recently. She is 36 and started going deaf about 5 yrs ago. It is a genetic condition that causes it. It was especially hard for her because she has a degree in vocal performance and sings opera and classical pieces. She took the view that hearing was much more important than her vanity and rocks electric blue hearing aids. She actually was a little disappointed that they aren’t even noticeable even with her pixie haircut. The longer you wait the harder it is to retrain your brain to hear so don’t delay is my advice.1 -
Happy Kite Flying Day!
“Kites have been bringing joy and relaxation since the 5th century in China. Kite Flying Day was created to remind us of the feeling of freedom that one feels when guiding a kite through the currents of air.”
If kites aren’t your thing, it’s also Laugh and Get Rich Day.
Becca – Thanks for sharing the bicycle wheel. What a creative idea!
Katla – The fabulous Molly Ivins once said the secret to being happy in Austin was to avoid getting on I-35 at all costs. For the most part, I think she’s right and I try to heed that advice! Overall the interstate system is an amazing engineering feat, but it carries too much interstate traffic to be pleasant driving within city limits.
Becky – That’s a great calorie burn!
Michele – Philip used to be able to watch launches from his grandmother’s place in Winter Haven. They sold the place when she died, but I’d have loved to be sitting out on her gazebo to see that launch!
Sue – Whew, so glad you weren’t hurt badly when you fell!
Welcome to the new arrivals!
The greyhound group I foster for had an application from my town, so they asked me to do the home visit for them. I had a visit with the couple last night, and I’m so envious! They live out of state but have a 40-foot luxury RV they use to visit family on the east coast and to come down here so she can work through the tax season as an accountant. Their cats and dogs travel everywhere with them. Sounds like a fun life!
Take care all…

Had my hearing test they said I am fine, in the normal range in both ears. The test done in pharmacy not hospital so not sure how accurate the test is.

While cleaning off cars this a.m. my wonderful neighbor was exiting her car and slipped hard on the ice....luckily she didn't break anything, but it truly knocked the wind out of her and made me even more petrified of moving around outside today. Luckily she is fine and I bravely made it to work today. happy to be home and warm & cozy.

Kevin a detached retina is emergency surgery. He risks losing vision in that eye if he waits. I had a torn retina and it was fixed within a day of the tear. If it had detached I would have gone to the emergency room. With a detached retina it is like a curtain going down in that eye and you see nothing. If he still has sight it might be torn. If it is torn and he does nothing he has a 1 in 3 chance of a detached retina and without treatment you will be blind in that eye. If he gets it treated for a torn retina as soon as possible he has a 1 and 20 chance of it detaching. I rarely go to the doctor but when I had a torn retina you could not get me in there fast enough. I did not want to risk losing any eye sight. For his retina go straight to a specialist who treats your retina. He will waste time if he goes to his regular doctor or even an eye doctor. What are his symptoms?
IF IT IS DETACHED THE SOONER THE SURGERY THE MORE LIKELY THEY CAN SAVE THE SIGHT IN THAT EYE!!!!
When my retina tore it looked like I had spider webs in my eye. Then it turned into what looked like a small dots that clouded my vision. If he as these symptoms or cannot see out of that eye he needs to see someone ASAP!!!!!!!
Because I acted quickly the only thing I notice in that eye is it is more light sensitive. Otherwise I lost no vision!

Heather: Your grandchildren are adorable & so are you. I've just gotten home from travels to see my beautiful grandchildren and am not up to speed on things here with this group as much as I would like. I wonder about the disciplinary. I hope it goes well. :flowerforyou:
Tracie Congratulations on the great news. No Cancer is a fabulous report!
Rori: Congrats again on your upcoming retirement. I think you will love it! :flowerforyou:
I am time lagged because of too many time zone changes in the past two weeks for my constitution. I am sooo tired even though I've slept well at night. I don't know how Rori has managed to deal with time zone changes & travel during her career. :noway: I admire her resilience.

Well ladies, CT scan went fine. Husband had the contrast dye injected, and he said it felt like it all settled in his butt. I winked and whispered, " everything settles in your butt cuz your an @$$". Haha! Aren't I a stinker! I had a snack of a small slice of my husband's beer bread he made on the weekend, then I drove home. He kept me company, and we chatted. I'm really not the best driver, but I made no major mistakes, so that's good. I always think to myself, car just get us home!
Here's a pic of our cute car, to those of you that haven't ever seen it!
My Hawaiian dancing "sumo wrestler of a girl" aptly named Pearl!
Now we patiently wait for the doctors to call us!
