Hello my wonderful sisters. Have done well today except just being cold. Charlie has turned it up to 74 but I am still cold even though I am wrapped up in my huge double layer throw. I think it all leads back to my index finger that I have to use in typing on either my phone or iPad.i know I can use my right hand but when you are left handed, you use your left hand. It's just not natural fo use your right hand even of it makes you feel better. Actually I use my right hand to type if the letters are on the right side. The only thing I have picked up today that is not cold is a paper towel. Remote control, phone, blood pressure cuff, everything. All cold.
Ok, the railing. It has to be set in concrete. I will call him Monday and remind him that we still need to be scheduled.
As far as the fall. I don't think it can be considered a fall. What I grabbed was not a good support and it fell on the ground so I also went to the ground. I had no injuries or strains. I am fine.m
Michelle, I don't think I have ever read that you are down on yourself. You have so many other wonderful traits I hope you see those and don't let that belly fat define yourself.
As far as my name, I emailed MFP and am waiting on them letting me back to me. This name is weird. There is no connection of this name to who I am.
My 16 year old grand daughter wore her prom dress t their churches Father and Princess dance tonight. I was surprised at Ellie. She just wore one of her school dresses. But Trinity is beautiful. I am proud of her. She knew how much money she had, looked on A,Avon, found and ordered a dress, didn't have enough money to buy new shoes so she went to Goodwill. I'll try to post a picture of her.
Here's my girls. Well I don't know why they inserted the picture way up there. But there they are . As you can see, they love each other and enjoy being there together. In another picture, Trin is letting her 11 year old sister try her shoes on
Love you all. Joyce, Indiana6 -
Hey Ladies. I just recently turned 51 in January. I've struggled with weight for most of my adult life. I've tried everything and was successful with losing but then I get bored or frustrated and I go off the diet and gain back more weight than I lost. I am currently 219 and back in October I had a total knee replacement surgery done so I've been very limited. Because of my knee my movement has been limiting and the last three years is where Ive gained the most. But in the last year I've gained 30 pounds alone. I am tired all of the time, I am post menopausal. I want to feel good, sleep good and know that my heart and mind will be healthy for a long time. I'm scared to death that I am not going to be successful. So any support is much appreciated. Thanks.8

Dave sent his first successful text today. Bless his sweet heart. Proving 71 year olds can still learn new things!
There were several reasons why I went with the 8 instead of the X. The number one reason is that I couldn’t justify the extra cost, especially in light of the other money we are spending. Secondly, the promotion was for a free 8 regardless of whether I got an 8 or an X for the other phone. I thought it only fair that they match.
Speaking of that dang phone, it caused me all kinds of grief today. I left home early this morning to drive to Powder Springs to watch my grandson play Upward basketball and my granddaughter cheer for yet a different team. Since I was so close, I decided to visit my mother’s cousin in ICU in Marietta. I pulled out my phone to show her sister pictures of Baby Foot and Oofo flip flops when we were lamenting our winter cracked heels and laid it on the counter instead of putting it back in my purse. I was already on 285 when my car told me my phone wasn’t connected. I had to head back to the hospital, navigate the parking garage, the huge hospital, etc again just to retrieve my phone. I was hurrying to make the 20-minute window so I didn’t have to pay for parking again and made that by the skin of my teeth. The good news is I got to navigate several flights of stairs not just once but twice! I finally got home around 6.

Becca- sending good wishes and prayers for your DH. My BIL has the episodes with his liver and has those procedures. Always hard but in the end it makes him feel better. Bless your heart, take care of yourself and keep us posted.

I just stumbled upon this board and because there are so many posts, I skipped to the end, but I think I want to go back and read some more. I have almost 70 pounds to lose. I didn’t have knee surgery but I too am tired all the time. My whole body is stiff and I have had a lot of problems with my feet/ankles but determined to get out and walk at least 4 days a week. I’m looking to make some changes in my health and it appears as though coming here is the first step. ❤️10 -
Welcome new members if you come back here every day and read the posts, log your food each day, learn something new each day about health and fitness, and seek every opportunity to be active, you will be amazed at what will happen in your life. I came here at age 62 after a lifetime of struggling with weight, and one day at a time, have made changes in my attitude and behaviour that have resulted in losing weight and keeping it off. Find that new lifestyle and your future self will thank you.
I'm taking a break from riding my exercise bike and watching the Olympics.

Wendy, thanks for clarifying about the fake frozen fanta. Think I’ll try it tomorrow.
Lisa, I’m sure you are feeling better having set up food delivery for your son.
Becca, sorry to hear about your DH. Sending healing thoughts your way. Can’t wait to see pics of the rocks.
Joyce, such beautiful girls. I can see there love for each other. I can see why you are proud.
Michele, I get where you are coming from about wanting to tone up. I have so much excess weight that just hangs that it’s discouraging. Also, when they were taking out the stitches from my hysterectomy surgery the wound opened up again. Because of infection they don’t sew you back up but you have to let it heal from the insides out. As you might imagine, I’ve got one heck of a big ugly scar. No way I’ll ever look good in my stomach area again. I hate every time I look in the mirror at it. Wish I liked to exercise but I don’t so struggle with that all the time which doesn’t help.
Welcome to all the newbies and ((hugs)) to those with struggles.
Had a good/bad day today. Got some exercise in this morning by shoveling snow for about a half hour then came in and did some work with my kettlebells. It was downhill from there though. DH and I went out for dinner at a new Indian restaurant. I’m no lover of Indian food so struggled finding something I liked. Found a couple of things that weren’t too spicy or had curry in it. Hate curry. But DH enjoyed it as I knew he would. Guess that’s why we say we’re Mutt and Jeff. Had two pieces of chocolate cake this evening. At this rate I don’t think I’ll be making my goal by Monday. Oh well at least I did get some exercise today.
Now don’t laugh. You know how I’ve told you how I’m losing my hair? Well someone at work has thinning hair too. She has this helmet thing with a red laser light that she bought. It didn’t work for her but has given it to me to try. I’ve heard of red light therapy before and so am giving it a try. Got nothing to lose and maybe I’ll get lucky. I feel a little foolish sitting with this helmet on for 25min and DH was in hysterics when he saw me but I felt it was free so worth the try. I never would have spent the $300 on the machine but with it costing me nothing I’ve got nothing but time to lose.
Well I’m beat so signing off for today.

Becca, I am praying for the best possible outcome with your husband’s illness. It sounds very serious.
Welcome new people. I know the tired all the time feeling. Sometimes I just have to tell myself to get up and do something and somehow I get it done. I find I do feel better when I follow my healthy eating plan.

Yep at OHSU. He is resting comfortably. He shall call me tomorrow. Son might visit him after he gets off work. I am hoping the doctors all have a powwow, and he has the surgery. Prudence brought me a little rose, bless her!

He called me this evening, and tomorrow we'll find out what the doctors decide to do. I guess they have to clear up his jaundice, before they can open him up, but to fix the problem they have to open him up. The exact same incision as when he had his transplant. The surgeon stated they would put a pain medicine epidural in is spine, something he's never had done. But he does have a high tolerance of pain. After his transplant he took oxytocin for just the first couple of days, then switched to Tylenol.

Heather didn't realize how close Hove is to Brighton. Was in Brighton in the late 70's for a World Science Fiction Convention. Our Regency Dancing group toured the Pavilion. Curry and thunderstorm cured my bronchitis. My memories are v. fond.
Tracie in WI You are so right about the luge. Not enough drugs in the world to get me to try
Evie (oww) gentle hugs.
Lenora what does "in the rotating door of like" mean? Good luck with your appointments!
Lanette "Kookie, Kookie lend me your comb!" We really like Route 66 and have the DVDs. Nope, we haven't watched Olympics either. Neither of us is much into sports.

Mary in AZ Sr. Ladies pom pommers rock!
Michele "loving the body I have" let me know how you accomplish that. Wanted to listen to Estes' Joyous Body but the library doesn't have it and Amazon wants $60 for it. ;(
Becca sending good thoughts both to you and your DH. Glad you called the EMTs. Hope the surgery can be SOON and successful. ((hugs)) and sleepy wishes for sweet dreams.
Joyce it's wonderful when sisters get along as well as your Trin and Ellie.
Steph and Joni welcome! This place is full of wisdom and support. When I'm down or stuck, I take a micro action (Thanks NYKaren) to make myself feel better. Sometimes it's just prep some veggies. Sometimes it's do just one SWSY arm exercise. But any tiny action to improve helps!
Kay wish Dave would send some of his "learn new things" mojo to Joe
Got a lovely letter from my biomom's husband, guess he's my step dad. Responded with an encyclopedic update of our homesearch, move, my blod clots, et ad nauseum cetera, so I'm all written out and you all are spared.
Sweet dreams and hugs to all,
Mindful hugs to all,

Machka, where are you?
Having a frustrating time with my weight stuck, despite my bonus exercise in the pm. Decided to do a check on body fat after Lisa's post. So I measured myself and my measurements have gone down by half an inch each on waist and hips. :drinker: Must be doing something right! I do feel good, apart from a squishy tummy and wrinkly skin. Oh, and cellulite thighs. I'd love to be able to wear shorts, Michele. I've had cellulite since I was 21. Inherited from my mother.
So my body fat was 26% according to the very inaccurate test I did with the tape measure. Not awful, but room for improvement.

Becca - Sending best wishes for your husband. Hope they make the right decision for him.
I wore my heart rate monitor for my exercises today, just to give myself some motivation. I'm finding it really hard to get my heart rate up these days. I included a one minute HI IT session on the elliptical and finished at 127. I suppose that's good. ?
I'm going to wear it for my "run" this pm, just out of interest. I'm barely shuffling faster than a fast walk, so it won't be high. I think I need to run for about 40 - 45 mins to get to a 5k in a few weeks time. My DDIL does it in 24 mins. By the end of the c25k app I will be running for 30 mins only with five minutes each side walking. So not 5k. I've measured out a distance in the lanes, so will have a go in about 3 weeks time. Hope my knee behaves itself.
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxxx5 -

Morning Ladies
I am awake but just sort of resting in bed.
Becca-thinking of your honey and wishing him a swift recovery..and you my friend you have us all in your pocket xoxo.
Well went to see the medium yesterday, and of course dad came barging through wanting to be my protector. My godson was fighting for time with me too,but dad over road...
I from what she said are a caregiver, protector, counselor, healer and teacher...knew I had children one going through very very hard time, and one super emotional...both will be ok...dad is taking care of everyone from the other side...
Had to write one question down on piece of paper and she help it in her had the whole time we were together...I asked her to ask Dad where the will was..now she didn't know what I wrote but she said let me share a memory with you..we could never find my dad's will..and I said BINGO..dad said there are things in the house that are sentimental but if you need the money sell them....
Bought a pendulum stone...and she was put mingling before reading and showed me how it works..you ask it yes or no questions and it will move with the question.so my brother was freaking out,it wouldn't work for him if he held it,but it worked for me...so somewhere in my dad's bedroom is the will..so the pendulum stone says ,and I keep thinking it's behind the mirror so will look today when I go up... enough yapping for now...4 -
Good day ladies,
Scale up a pound. Oh well, it comes it goes and I plug along. DD got enough of her homework done to be able to take tomorrow off and spend the day with me. Going to take a drive and do some clothes shopping . Also want to stop on the way at an antique mall that is huge and fun to go through. Maybe I’ll even find something that I can incorporate with my jewelry. That will be fun. I’ve been looking at antique jewelry for inspiration and have some great idea spinning around in my head. Hope to try to take some pictures with my light box today. Going to cut another hole in the top so I’ll have light on three sides and that will take care of the shadows.
Allie, can’t wait to hear if you find the will in the bedroom. Years ago a group of us would go to get a reading. We alway had such fun.
Heather, good for you on the walking. WTG.
Barbara, the dr says I have female pattern baldness which is like what men get. I don’t have patches gone thank goodness just a general overall thinning on top. It is especially noticeable when in a bright light. Tried to gain but that didn’t help. I haven’t noticed it getting any thinner lately so if it stops now and doesn’t get any worse I’ll be thrilled.
Becca, the rocks are beautiful! What a great idea. Sending healing thoughts your DH’s way. Don’t forget to take care of yourself too. (((Hugs)))
Make it a good Sunday ladies.

Did Prevention's Slim Strong and Firm DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to try the Next Level class
Don't know why, but I couldn't sleep last night. And got a craving for a piece of the chocolate cake I brought down.
Made some bacon the oven last night. By the time I finished making the package, I'd finally gotten down a good way to do it. Well, I'll know for another time.
Heather - how fast did your heartrate come down?
After exercise, went to Publix. Got 4 newspapers. There's supposed to be a special supplement about SpaceX. Also got some oranges, they had Asian Pears, and grapes. That should hold me for a while. Tomorrow after exercise I'll probably go to Aldi since I need vinegar. I was thinking that I may have to take some of the frozen food I brought back to them. I told you I went a bit hog-wild!
In the 80's again.

Glad to hear food delivery works for son.

Michele - I don't know, because I wasn't wearing the watch, just reading it on the machine. Previously when I've tested it it's come down pretty fast.
Did my Day 1 Week 7 c25k today. Plus read a running magazine. I did fine. I forgot to wear my heart monitor though.
Did not do my typing.

Carol-that sounds like a song : ).
Cold and freezing rain today, 80 predicted for Thursday. Crazy weather.
I don’t have a exercise bike so I get up every commercial and walk. Amazing how many steps you can get in doing that. So I gained a pound this week so will have to do a better job with my diet. I am getting exercise but trainer at Y said I need to do more cardio. I love yoga and been going two or three times a week but may need to just do two and more cardio.
Becca- thinking of you and your hubby.
We’d to move.
