Evelyn – what I love about daffodils (I had the wrong name of the flower) is that it blooms really early in the season. I need something to remind me that winter’s over and spring is coming. Only problem right now is that none of the stores have them for me to plant for next year.
Wendy – what a horrible story. I can totally understand why you were happy when they moved. You know your husband, when he finds out about the horse do you predict he’ll “just shake his head” or blow up?
Meg – (((HUG))) I’m betting that she’ll come to see just how much you’ve given her and how her mother gave her up for whatever reason. They are probably grateful to you for all you’ve done and will probably relay this to dd
Becca - I agree, have those neighbors help you

Thank you, Barbie, for setting us up for success for one more month! You're such an amazing human being.
My word for 2018 is/was, "balance." Continue to try to find that in all things.
March's goal was to see Onederland by the end of the month. I was at 200.5 this morning... hoping to see that 1 in front of the number by tomorrow, but Monday would be fine... Have lost 17.3 pounds since January 24, when I began the Dukan eating path, and continue to follow it happily. Nearly 7 of those pounds were in March, which is a good rate of loss.
April's goals:- Lose 8 pounds.
- Exercise 20 minutes a day, six days a week.
- Survive the move to Arkansas.
- Get settled into the new house in Fort Smith.
- Thrive at work and continue that successful path.
- Leave my daughter and the grandbabies without too many tears. For those who follow the saga, our soldier son-in-law is due back from Syria this week. Keep a good thought.
Love y'all, as always,
You make my life so much better by being in it!
Lisa in NC... for two more weeks

Michele, I think the reason you can’t find daffodil bulbs right now is because you’re supposed to plant them in the fall. You might be able to find some blooming in pots that you can transplant. I googled, and you can order them online at brecks.com.
Thanks, Barbie. For starting the new thread.6 -
Thanks Barbie, we all count on you to keep us together!
Michele, I do know my husband, LOL, that's why I know it's better not to ask first. He might blow up, he's Irish and an Aries, but it'll blow over. Sometimes he doesn't talk to me for a week, but then, I don't really notice too much of a difference. LOL. The card I have up my sleeve is that he knows the neighbour and how badly he treated his horses and he can't stand to see animals starved either, so he will understand that I HAD to rescue her. I did tell him that I'd run into the ex-neighbour woman and that she had split up with the bad man. I did point out that the timing of us running into each other in another town, when she has moved halfway across the country was almost impossible odds and that God sets up "coincidences" like that. I just haven't mentioned that WE are rescuing the horse, yet. Anyway, the closer we get to his farewell party and retirement from the office and us getting paid out for our shares, the better of a mood he is in. I might try to wait and tell him on Thursday (my birthday) as that will buffer his reaction. Strategic planning... Wendy
She is worth an argument anyway.

Hi Gals,
Michele – spring bulbs (daffodils, crocus, hyacinth) you plant in late summer, early fall so you’ll find them in the stores then.
Barbie – thank you thank you thank you!
Lisa – great job on the released pounds…. So glad you have found a system that is working for you.

Busy day here today. Housecleaning and yard work, but I do love a tidy house, as you all know. I threw out two bags of Crap I have been tripping over for the past month. Here's hoping no one asks for any of it.
I managed a Pilates/yoga class this morning. It always makes me feel good about my Saturday. The gym is closed tomorrow, and that's a yoga day, so I will need to find something on line or do some on my own.
Meg -- you have a rough time recently. I hope you have a strong local support group. Sometimes I feel pretty useless from this keyboard.
And virtual hugs to Machka, too.

I have been offline for too long. Just put husband on a plane for month long visit to his mom so i am concentrating on taking care of me during April.
Goals:
Perform HIIT for at least 14 minutes 5 times per week
Log my food and water intake
Find a full time job10 -
BARBIE thanks for new thread, you are a star
MARY thanks for congrats, I think I'm ready for new KB, will take it easy and will start the 4 week prog with squats and swings
TRISH if you search Leslie Sansone on YouTube there are a lot of vids from 1 mile to 3 some with hand weights and resistance bands. All the moves are the same but there are variations in speed and intensity. You can set up playlists and just add any new vid as you find them
BECCA good luck with your moving I know you're going to be so happy. We've lived in this house for 49 years and thoughts of moving horrify me, though I do try to declutter now and then, don't want to leave too much stuff for the kids to handle when we're gone. Theyll probably chuck most of it anyway LOL
MACHKA hope and love coming your way
Layla is gorgeous
Don't like setting goals it doesn't seem to work for me but I know I'll keep up my exercise because I love it
Lots of daffodils in bloom here, my tulips are in bud but think my fuschias (in pots) have finally died, they are quite old and I should have taken cuttings last year but didn't. They are my favourite flower so will be a trip to garden centre for new ones.

I caught up and have a few things to post. The hour is late and I must wake up early. I will see if I can post in the morning.
Hugs, prayers and positive vibes to all who need them.
You are one bunch of lovely ladies.

Hi all,
Michele - Yes, Drkatie is right, spring flowering bulbs have to be planted in the autumn. The shops will be full of them then. Ours are out in force in the garden. Lovely! They do come up every year if you don't disturb them.
I'm typing up my blurb to send to the boys when I send my letter. Plus a kind of manifesto that I will share with you. I might send it out to media to see if I can generate some publicity.
Still trying to decide whether to include some photos or not. At the back. Or I could link some, but haven't found out how to do that other than starting a website. I changed my author photo on Amazon.
I gave DH some "Easter presents" this morning. He didn't have anything for me, but I explained that the presents were for both of us. Two detective books from our favourite series and a box of plain, cocoa dusted chocolate truffles. The only present just for him was two boxes of his favourite ginger biscuits.
We are having our favourite lunch - blinis, creme fraiche and faux caviar. Dinner is lamb roasted in beer, with garlic and herbs, with roasted carrots, parsnips and fennel.
I think we might go for a walk/jog round the "long route" this afternoon. My legs feel like lead from yesterday's run and this morning's exercise session, so it might be more walk than jog! But I will get round somehow. I love to eat and therefore I have to exercise. I have lost five and a half pounds since Jan 1st and have just half a pound to go to get back to maintenance. Currently I am doing two and a half hours intentional exercise most days. I eat around 1800 calories a day.

4. Log every bite. Done, I find this one easy.
APRIL goals:
1. Lose 2 lbs.
2. Close all rings on my watch every day.

Have a great day everyone!! Hugs to those struggling, high fives to those with victories and prayers for those in need.

I am so excited to find this group--Women Ages +50! I was once in a group on MFP (a few years ago) and was totally bummed when it ended. It was a group of women that would share their successes and disappointments. Thank you Barbie for creating this group. I am a school teacher from northern Maine. I have to watch my weight all the time. I am hypothyroid and it is sooo hard to take off weight and to keep it off. My success has been a loss of 7 lbs. It has taken me since June of 2017 to do this. I know this sounds like wow that took time, but that is just how it rolls with me.
My goals for April are:- To lose 1 pound
- To get my 10,000 steps every day
- I purchased "Walk Strong: 6 Week Total Transformation"--Jessica Smith I want to start this 6 week journey next week. I love to walk, but hate to do exercises so this will be a struggle for me
Have a great Easter everyone!16 -
hooray For April. Even though there is snow in the forecast, just knowing it is april makes me happy. Jan, feb and March are my toughest months—must have SAD. DH and I went for a drive and looked for the earliest signs of spring, they are there if you look hard enough.
I am doing an UBERFRUGAL month in April and taking meal planning to the next level by clearing out the freezer once again! How it gets filled up so quickly is beyond me so I’m gonna really watch my grocery shopping this month.
I’m down one pound 5 more to go to get to my maintenance weight—with the weather changing and my schedule heating up—I will get there- and with the support and encouragement of this wonderful group-of course

Greetings!
Jenny- I hear you! I love walking, but hard to exercise. It is my goal to add this month. These ladies are awesome support!10 -
I just remembered that my chiropractor tells me every month about how tight the muscles are in my back and neck so last month I asked her what I could do about it. She gave me two pages with pictures of stretches that would help. I need to add that to my resolutions for the month. Some of them are ones I can do while sitting and others can be done while walking. Remembering will be the hard part.
This thread is a lifeline for me. I am an introvert and don't have a bunch of face to face friends. My only family that I interact with are my husband and my 94 year old cousin who is an nursing home. Starting this thread for us each month is my connection with an important community of friends. Thank you being part of my life.

Good morning all! Happy Easter/April Fool's Day/ Sunday! I logged on this morning and went to March and was shocked that there were only 20 or so posts. Got to the end and saw Barbie's link (I forgot it is a new month) 35 posts, already!
Let's see: I think my goals for March went something like "keep logging, keep making good choices, less of me". I think I am two pounds down from the end of February. Not as much as I wanted, but down is better than up!
April goals: Push myself to move more
Stay firm in my resolve to eat according to my meal plan
Read more (grown up stuff, not kid stuff)
less of me by May
My word for 2018 is "resilience".
Been a busy weekend. It rained all day yesterday, so I didn't get out in the yard to do the thatch removal. So I baked my ham and made my Easter dinner yesterday. Packed it all up to take to the inlaws, today. Got my errands, and food prep done, laundry, house cleaned, etc. Indoor stuff. Brought a box of floor tile from the basement so that I can replace a couple of chipped/broken ones in the living room. They are a nice vinyl, parquet pattern. I laid the original tile about eight years ago, so it has held up well. These are the first I have had to replace, and of course they are right at the entrance to the living room, so very easy to see the breaks. That is my main job today. I also need to get my month end paperwork done and sent in to the state. lol...(we will see if that happens). The sun is out, so I think I will start my Sunday with a walk. Sending love to you all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

This is Carol from GA! I wouldn't let me upload a photo or add food from my list of foods on the other account. Now is won't let me upload a photo on this new account. Is anyone else having trouble with these things?3
-
Oh yeah! I had given up facebook for lent, so it is with great joy that I share these little gems that I just pulled from my daughter's page of Mr. Joaquin on his first birthday. His first cake, time in the park, and the "angry baby"! Enjoy!

I have a pocket in between Sunrise Service and regular church service. DH used it to walk, but I’m waiting until this afternoon when it warms up. I’m freezing. I am rethinking my Easter dress, which I planned to wear with bare legs and open toed shoes. My toes are even painted to match it, but I’m feeling more of a tights and booties kind of cold. Decisions!

KJ - Joaquin looks like Bea when she's had too much sugar!
Janetr - Amazing to see the generations! I wonder if I shall ever see my great grandchildren.
I've just run 3.3 miles round the long loop. Beautiful! Primroses galore, celandines, buds on the trees. Had to run through streams and I walked up two short inclines, but otherwise I ran up most of the hills. DH walked beside me, but I left him on the home sprint. I strapped my knee before I set out and it did feel more secure.
Good feeling when you get back.
Now, on with the veg prep!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx8 -
Eggs are filled for grands, real eggs are hard boiled for coloring, I am dressed. I did 25 minutes of Leslie walking. Reckon that is a good start. Now to head into kitchen to make cheesecakes and lasagna. Maybe will try to get some squats in while doing those.
Carol- MFP and Fitbit are being strange right now. I have no clue. Hopefully it will all get fixed soon.
Janetr- Beautiful daughter and baby! So sweet!
Joyce- Glad the pain is easing, but sad that you feel loopy when not wanted. I lost 2 of my estradiol pills this past month. Never found them. Maybe my dogs did, maybe they went down sink....One moment it was in my hand and the next it was gone-smh
