I'm 5ft 2.5 in k started on mfp two years ago and with a few breaks inbetween i managed to keep the weight off i was 11st 5lbs i now weigh 9st 7lbs i fluctuate between 9 st to 9st 8in but want to get down to 8 st as i feel still a bit big for my height all my weight gathers in my middle i feel i will be more comfortable at that weight and if I did gain a couple pounds it wouldn't matter .3

I'm 5'2" and started beginning to lose weight after highschool. At my most I weighed 240 pounds. Over the course of 2016 and 2017 I lost 90 pounds and was down to 150! I got a little comfortable though and was shocked to see that I got back up to 180 just this summer. I've recently been heading back to the gym and walking more along with cutting back to 1300 calories a day. I've noticed a big improvement and I'm down 8 pounds in three weeks! I found a quote that keeps me motivated to be healthy;
In 2 weeks you'll feel it.
In 4 weeks you'll see it.
In 8 weeks you'll hear it.

There are some great transformations in this thread, you are all awesome. See my profile pic for my transformation. Oh and I am not only a shorty, I am post menopausal. I've been in maintenance for over a year now.3 -

I am 5'3" ... my heaviest was 169 and my lowest 125 (after a surgery where I got very sick). My goal is to be 125 again. It was a short time but I was happy. I have been unhappy with my body most of my adult life.
I lost about 20lbs in a year-- from 169 to 149. Im hovering at 155 now. Its hard to not just give up and not eat all together. But I know weight loss is possible, because I have done it. You can do it too.2 -
Dont give up ladies. It's possible. For me it has to be a SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE CHANGE. Do not fall for diets and fads and have patience!7

Yeah we can do this! It does take time- I am definitely a "turtle"- it is just small losses each week that lead to the big losses over time- we can do it- eye on the prize!!!!- which for me is better health3

I am 5’ 2 1/2” too! And 62 years old. Have been on a low carb diet, which then later became a Keto diet. It has been a fairly slow weight loss, but in 5 months, weight is 23 pounds lighter! Only 6 more pounds to go, before I am in the middle 120’s. Doesn’t matter how long it takes, but matters if you stick with it, are eating much more healthy, and finally arrive at your goal!5

I'm almost 5'2" & I've been active my whole life. Major life changes usually have a negative impact on my wellness for a bit & then I get to work towards my goals again. This time I've lost 31 lbs in about 9 months.
I slowed from 1 lb per week to about 1 lb per month, but I'm not fixated on weight so much as functional fitness.
I do a variety of workouts including walking, running, gym cardio machines, swimming, circuit type workouts with cardio and resistance intervals, hiit, strength workouts and yoga.
I get bored after a month or two of the same routine, so I switch it up.
I'm still about 20 lbs from my ultimate weight goal, but I feel strong, fit and comfortable with myself already.5 -
No dieting, no cutting out specific foods, and no exercise. Just good old calorie counting and portion control

I'm 5'3" with shoes on, 69 yrs. My profile pic shows my results.
yoyoed for decades never getting to the normal range, tried,WW lifetime member (was at goal for a few months then the lbs. roared back on with lots of friends), the Zone, South Beach, strict CICO (MFPing for years now), got close on those but never getting in the normal range. Started with Atkins 20 foodie plan, started losing consistantly, worked my way to low carb (50g carbs), and I don't count calories. When my loses stalled out on keto/low carb I found Dr. Fung's Fasting protocols, using those I lost the last 15 lbs. I couldn't doing everything else. I have been in maintenance for 1yr. 5 months now.
My exercise is resistance training, yoga, Zumba, and walking daily. So I don't hit it that hard, but I do get up and move around daily, I only do those because I enjoy them and like doing them, to me that is my daily play time, nothing over an hr. except an occasional hike in the mountain, couple of those twice a month.
Posting this to encourage other post-menopausal, short women to realize it can be done, age is just a number.
