Hi All ... I am new, recently started Keto and doing well. I am, though, having difficulty with the Recipe section of MFP. It will not import when using a URL and when I put the recipe in manually, still won't match. It did work one time, so I know I am doing it right. Any suggestions? Getting frustrated.2

Lisa, thank you so much. I wish I were closer to hug and enjoy them more. Hey, they live close to Rori, she's way too young to be a great-grandma but I bet she'sa terrific chubby cheek kisser

Awww, Janet! You just have to get over here more often. I don't have any maternal instincts. I'm better with cats than babies. I'd love to meet these beautiful new members of your family.

Very relieved to find this group. I've maintained fitness for 14 years after last baby. But that baby has been sick for 2 years and. . . out the door went fitness. Now at 49.5 yrs. I am amazed at how hard this is to lose the 25 pounds gained (I'm 5 feet tall so for me, that's a lot of weight). Is this typical? Characteristic of my age? I've lost 1 pound in 12 days--slight panic! I've got the calories counted, exercise added, and 10,000 steps in place--geeze this is tough? Is this normal? The last time I had to lose weight was after last baby! I was 33 years old--49.5 is not the same! Advice greatly appreciated.5

Welcome! I have started hardcore logging, exercising and paying attention and have lost 6 lbs since February. It's supposed to be hard. It's not a quick fix you are doing, you're retraining your body, and your mind. That's some messy emotional stuff! Perseverance is my only advice. We are in it to win it friend!

Did Prevention's Get Moving DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to do Bernadette Giorgi's ab Blast Workout DVD.
Made a grapefruit pie for the gal for mahjongg Monday. Then iced the cake. Hope it comes out looking like a true checkerboard cake. It think I may have put too much icing in the middle because it's pretty high. Then iced the cupcakes I made for Vince from the remaining cake mix I had. Went to PetSmart and then came home and put stars on the grapefruit pie out of whipped cream.
Bought this edible slitter. I'm thinking that might be nice to put on the cake we're getting for the magician show. But the package says that it's for fondant. I'll see what happens when you use it on buttercream. Update: it doesn't stay "glittery". I did see another kind of glitter that came in a spray. The picture looks like it was used on buttercream icing. May have to give that a try.
machka - you haven't mentioned bike riding in a while. Are you able to get any riding in?
katla - yup, you can get two coupons per month. Hey, $2 is $2.
Jess called and asked if we could help her move. Not exactly sure what she wants us to do. We haven't told her that Vince's back is hurting. It's getting better but we did go buy cat food and stopped at Aldi today but I carried the cases of food in the house. Not that that's real heavy. I think she's somewhat anxious about leaving Saturday. Hey, I would be anxious, too. I admire her for being able to do it.
janetr - I'm so sorry to hear about Jack. Will he have to get his knee corrected or will it be that way all the time from now on?
Kim - hope the cardiologist helps your mom
Sharon - have fun at the movies! Is that the one where the girl has real poor self-image, then she falls in a spin class and when she comes to she is super-confident?
KJ - I like the name Phoenix. Jess' first car was a jeep
Heather - you kow I'll put a review up as soon as I (even start) reading your book
DJ - thanks for popping in. You are sorely missed
Barbara - I've never heard of chess and vinegar pie. Well, it's a Southern thing and I'm just a transplanted Southerner....lol
Rebecca - no, I don't think it's wrong of you not to want to eat what hubby is eating. I do that many many times. Like what you did with the beads.
rozv and sgm - welcome!
sgm - yup, it's harder to lose weight the older we get <sigh>
Got Vince to FINALLY start to drill the holes in the tree stumps so I can put the stump removal powder in them. He puts things off all the time. Really, the only reason he even started doing this is because I did it. Actually, I broke one of the drill bits. But that may teach him. He may want to do the drilling and I'll clean out the holes and put the stump removal stuff in them.

Rebecca, nope nothing wrong with not eating what your husband does. My DH’s tastes are different from mine. I’m a plain Jane and he likes savory spicy things. A lot of times we fix our own dinner.
Allie, you sure have been rough on your body these days. Hope you feel better soon.
Sgm1138, welcome to the group.
Well got the living room and dining room spring cleaned then was too pooped to do jewelry. So tomorrow I’ll try the new beads.

Michele, Thanks for asking, he's getting around well this evening. They have already replaced Jack's knee twice now. This last time they put long supports running half way up high thigh bone and down his shin bone to hold the knee in place, which obviously didn't do much good. They sent him to a specialist that told him there are only 4-5 surgeons in the state who could do the procedure and he recommended further surgery as a " last resort".

Janetr - Felicity is divine - what a beautiful dress! Very becoming and tasteful (geeze that sounds like something my grandmothers would have said, lol.) But it's true! Prom already. Whoa!
Rebecca - I always look forward to the little sayings and photos you post. Keep 'em coming! At our house, I try to fix something my DH will like that we both eat - roast beef & veggies, a ham/egg/potato bake, unstuffed cabbage rolls. Something in the crockpot that he's willing to eat two or three days if I'm lucky. Otherwise, we each do our own thing. Sometimes I stop by McD's on my way home from shopping and he gets a sandwich and I'll make a salad for dinner.
Kind of a busy day - off to town this morning to meet up with old (long time) friends - a couple who became our best buddies in addition to shepherds when we all lived east of Seattle in the '80's and early '90's before it became a techie haven. They were born and raised in the UK and moved over to the States in their early 20's. Alan lost his accent, but Ingrid still has a trace of British after 50 years over here, very cute! They were in town for an event and I met them for lunch. Love it when we are able to pick up conversations we were having ten years ago.
Anyhow, they and their grandkids are really into beekeeping and I told them about Wendy and her "queen making".
Consequently, I've been going through our old posts here to try to find Wendy's bee stories to compare them to Alan's queen stories. I started back in January of this year and it's been fun to see what we were all up to back then.
Joyce - you were posting a lot back then and I'm going through withdrawal, lol. Hope things are going well in Southern Indiana!
My niece got married today in Northern Indiana and I'm waiting for some photos to appear on Facebook. She's a modern gal and the baby girl (so far she's going to be named Allison) is due in July. They are both excited to be parents - in their late 20's so very ready to start a family. We are super happy for them!
Better sign off - day is whipping by!

Talked with my middle son, and wife is doing well. She was bleeding due to an ectopic sp? pregnancy. Where the baby grows outside the womb. She had surgery to remove the issue, and they had to remove one of her tubes. She is a young thing, but the doctors told my son and her, they can still conceive, but it will be a bit more difficult. Son is handling things well, and at least she has stopped bleeding and everything. Poor gal.
Thankful at Whidbey

We love our Saturdays. This morning after walking the dogs we did grocery and miscellaneous shopping followed by a simple lunch (meatless corn dogs and sliced tomatoes). Yesterday we took everything out of the utensil drawers in the kitchen and discarded the ones we haven't used in years. Today Jake made the decision of what goes in which drawer so he can no longer say that he doesn't know where to find things. After lunch we watched TV a bit and then took a nap. The weather didn't invite working in the yard so we puttered in the house and did a few easy household chores. Soon it will be bedtime. I am so grateful for our simple life.

Rebecca - so glad your DIL is doing so well. What a blessing it will be where she does get pg!

Hi Gals,
Sharon – hang in there, you do not need to know what you want, that is part of why you are going to go to counseling. I have a friend that KNEW she wanted her marriage to work and she and hubby went to counseling and found out that her hubby also wanted to stay married but told her and the counselor he would make no changes, make no effort, basically that he was perfect and she was the problem… they are divorced. So find a counselor and go hoping for insight, and then you can make a decision about what is best.
Rebecca – excellent, on weight loss and cute earrings! Glad DIL is ok, that is a tough situation, but I’m so glad she is ok
Carol – it’s easy to rescreen a slider – you should blow him away and do it yourself! Here’s a youtube video that’s pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmDHChZMNO8
Allie – oh dear!!! Take care!
So sometimes I wonder how recipes are figured out, I made a chicken dish, that is ok, not great but ok…. It said it was 4 servings, each one cup, ok that will work, not too many days or leftovers…. 8 cups!!!! Of a not great recipe, 3 cups in the freezer, I just couldn’t take one more day of an ok, not great dinner. So I have made 2 new recipes this week and tossed both the recipes out, one more for tomorrow night – fingers crossed it will be good.

Katla - Those are not my pictures. My DDIL is good enough to send both sets of grandparents regular updates on their doings. We do see them more often than you are able to see yours, but the photos keep us going between times. Sometimes we send the kids a silly one of us! They love that. I occasionally do a Touchnote postcard for them which they can keep. Often it's six weeks between visits. Next week we are babysitting for two days and staying over. DDIL has a conference in London and the nanny is on holiday for two weeks. Last week the other grandparents babysat.
We do Skype them, but it is always utter chaos.
This house business has ÷×+%#× up our plans to get down there so we can see them more often. Don't you just hate some people?! Grrrrrrrrrr!
My cystitis is back. I thought I had conquered it during the trip, with copious drinking of water and cranberry juice, but it has returned. Just bothersome, not agony. Back to the cranberry. Will get some more today.
We had a big thunderstorm last night. Quite spectacular. The power stayed on.
It's the London Marathon today. DH's lovely niece is running in it. We have both contributed to her charity. Everyone hopes the temperatures will not be too high - especially for the fun runners who are costumed. Good job it wasn't last week - 29.5°!!
I will be watching on the TV and probably going for a run myself!
The niece is the loveliest woman, but has terrible trouble choosing the right men. Now she is 39, desperate to get married and longing for a baby. She may have her eggs frozen. She has a father who is a psychological mess, so it's not surprising.
Then we will pack a couple more boxes of books. That may be the last. 17 large boxes!
Going to make a veggie curry for tonight. My DH is unusual, I think, in that he absolutely LOVES vegetables. If he doesn't have a large pile of fresh, green stuff on his plate he would be upset. When I first met him I found it odd that he wanted green veg with a pasta dish, but I do it automatically now. So our plate is at least half green. Or white, if it is cauliflower. Fortunately, he takes it upon himself to buy the veg regularly, plus all the fruit we eat. He checks on the stock. Tonight we have some left over bits to use up. I'll do it in the IP. There's yoghurt in there at the moment.
I have modified my cooking a bit for him. I like very spicy, oriental food, so I have that while he is at cricket. He does eat spices, but not so much. I can add that at the side, or put a bit of chilli sauce on top. I cook him extra potatoes, rice or pasta because he is very skinny. He used to cook more, but I took it over when I was calorie counting. Luckily he does all the washing up and keeps the kitchen clean. He also makes us breakfast in bed every morning - muesli with chopped fruit and berries. He makes coffee and tea regularly too and the stewed fruit dessert we have every night. At the moment it's home grown rhubarb. Yum!
I have been awake since 4 am this morning with the cystitis. Now it's 6.30. Botheration.
Allie - Ouch!
Janetr - Love the prom princess!
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx6 -
Heather - Those grandkids are cuties for sure.
Janetr - Felicity is a beauty.
Becca - I am glad that your DIL is doing okay. It is a pretty hard thing to go through. My sister had a similar experience. She was told that she probably wouldn't conceive but Kate is now in her late 20s.
Today my joy was going to Keira's dance competition. I wish we had a photo of her surprised little face when she saw us. The girls did well and Phoenix of a Feather won gold. One more competition for her, performance at a Senior's home and a dance recital. She is begging for more lessons and wants to do a solo next year.
We went to the Cheesecake for lunch to meet one of Jheri's best friends and her family. She is the daughter of one of my best friends. The girls were babies when we met. It was a lunch filled with laughter so more joy.
We stopped at my brother's on the way home and had supper with them. Madison (5) played games with me, did some puzzles with me and told me I was her best friend. More Joy! Her Mom said "Hey, Auntie, did you notice that you gave all of those things to her?" Actually I hadn't realized it.
Tomorrow is the lunch/movie date. Monday , I will be looking after Harmony again. Keira says maybe they should have a play day. Jheri will be painting a house with her Dad.
Sending prayers for all that need them.

Heather and Sharon, thank you on the nice compliments on Felicity. She's a very intelligent young lady but shy and rather unsure of herself. I guess all teenage girls think they are "ugly" in today's world. It breaks my heart. She's had a driver license since she turned 16, about 18 months ago, but she won't drive because it stresses her out, she doesn't keep a job for long because it stresses her out. At this point her schooling it much more important than a job. I pray she grows into her self-confidence and makes wise choices to become the amazing woman I know she can be.
