Did Kathy Smith’s Ultimate Sculpt since I wanted to try out a new video. The plan for tomorrow is to do another new one, Bernadette Giorgi Ab Blast DVD. Not so sure about this one.
Supposed to go to the Green Room tonight. From looking online, it looks like the show is completely sold out. Glad we got our tickets when we did.
Lisa – whenever we take our cats in the car for the drive to the condo, they’re never happy. As a matter of fact, we have to give one of the cats a sedative before we leave. But once they get there, they love it. I’m sure Egg will be the same way
I’m not even crazy about the local news. Almost never watch it. But I do like the Weather channel – but not too much, just the basic facts. Ketone Karen – If it’s something really important (like the latest bombing) I usually wait for Vince to say something to me about it or I might hear about it on the radio.
Oh, got a question for you ladies. We were given this nice brass “L” which would go great in between our two garage doors. However, Vince wants me to clean it more. Personally, I think the weathered look is really nice. Now…how to clean it. I’ve looked on the Internet, they suggested lemon juice and baking soda (but I don’t have any lemon juice), even ketchup and baking soda which really didn’t do anything, even Bartenders Helper which I have to scrub and scrub and scrub, and even then it doesn’t really come clean. I have a silver cleaner, but that doesn’t work. Anyone have something that they use that works well?
Matchka – your posts sound so much more positive now. I’m happy for you
KJ – I’m with you, I find it so much better to just listen to my body. Even exercise, I’ve found that there are days when I just don’t feel like pushing myself, my body said “uh…I don’t think so”. Then there are days when I really surprise myself in how much I push myself. I’m not much of a red meat eater, either. Congrats on the successful dinner!
Made this chocolate dessert to take to bowling Monday. They’re having an “end of season” party which I’ll probably get to a bit late since I’ll be counting at the church. Then made these sausage pinwheels to take to Rummikub Tuesday. I’ve never made pinwheels before. Now I know that I need a REALLY sharp knife. Also made some bran muffins
Deactivated the Newcomer members who did not renew their membership. I really wish we could do away with the spreadsheet but this one gal still wants it. Why, I don’t know. I can’t remember the last time I sent it to her. All the information there is on the website. As a matter of fact, if someone changes, say, their phone number, I make sure the website is updated but don’t even bother with the spreadsheet.
It’s supposed to be in the 70’s today and tomorrow. Then Monday it’s supposed to be in the 50’s
Shoppingdiva – welcome! I love to go shopping, too. Especially if I can get a good deal on something.
Need to serve at church tomorrow. Not sure why suddenly she's putting me on all the Sunday masses, I did request the Saturday masses. Maybe she doesn't have enough people for Sundays.

This morning Jake drove to the grocery store, helped with the shopping, loaded the bags into the car, and unloaded the car and put the groceries away. He is well on the way to recovery. We are both so grateful.

Margaret - I will send you some green grass - Louis finally got his 'mower' back after being in the shop 4+ weeks. He was about to stroke out; because the man had not returned any of his calls. He called this morning and left a a message that he 'expected' the mower back at the house today and if need be, he'd take it elsewhere. Man called back a few minutes later and said he'd have it here within the hour, he had been waiting on a part. GREAT! Could have called and told us the issue; he did call one day while I was here and said that everybody had had the flu and that set them back a week; that was over 2 weeks ago. To say that Louis was 'hot' this morning would be putting it mildly. Been a long time since I've seen or heard him that ugly about something; he usually uses 'humor' to defuse someone bitching about something - but, this time he had had it. It is supposed to storm tomorrow.

Plus a bit of moving anxiety. I seem to have my book on my mind plus the move. We luckily can talk to each other and did better last night. We both count our blessings and know everything is minor, but anxious thoughts still creep in.
I don't like having to make decisions or deal with details. I'm a broad sweep kind of person. The computer drives me insane.
One of the charities I emailed has asked me to send my book for review. Hooray!!!!!

Dear Heather,
I can relate with the anxiety issues, regarding moving. Remember each move is an experience, just like all your many glorious trips and vacations are. Embrace the change. For me the priorities were eating well through the transitions, a task I could control. Re-prioritize what you can. If you know you are dealing with your move, maybe your book has to come second. If you know your husband is
anxious about family issues, then more "pillow talk" is needed. That time before you both fall asleep can be a great platform for putting troubles in their proper place, ( in your mind). More hugs, moving is a first class stress! I went thru all the stages just like a death would affect me. Feel the feelings. Mourn your old place, get mad at the unpredictability of it all, but in the end it's a calmness when you get moved in.

Son came over last night, and enjoyed my fried rice, and brownies! He also liked my orange juice with mango in it. He likes a lot of foods I like, (but husband doesnt), like veggies, and sushi. To make wild rice, with sauteed zucchini, and some beef kielbasa, is just some of the meals he likes! I will try to not smother him... He is our room mate now.
So he was going to leave at about 10 pm, but that came and went, and he fell asleep on the couch. I took off his glasses, plugged in his phone, and gave him a couple of throws. I was in bed at 11pm thinking about my son downstairs, and man what a nice thing to fall asleep thinking about...
Another good day planned! Breakfast was yogurt and coffee. Snack is coffee and a cookie. Lunch is wild rice, spinach, dressing and cottage cheese. Dinner is zucchini, and eggs sauteed. Night snack is 5 prunes. Simple!
Hugs all!

Great news today. I’m back on regular food ( not just ‘soft’ food) and Jackie Kane has finally forgiven Kidd Kirby for smelling like the vet.
It is so hard to tell where one brother starts and the other one stops, lol
Struggling with a lot right now, trying to remain positive.
Congrats to those celebrating and warm wishes for those working hard and/or struggling.

Good morning!
We are waiting to see whether we will be hit by the huge ice storm moving in from Canada. Right now we're sitting on the edge of impact according to the weather maps ... so we're getting the generator in place and making certain we have everything we need. Betty in Rochester is likely to have upwards of a half inch of ice. Officials are expecting wide-spread power outages and tree damage .... yuck
The ice storm was supposed to start a couple of hours ago but is holding off for now. We lost power for six days in 1991 and it is an experience I care not to repeat. We wound up camping with our two little kids at a couple of different friends' houses. The county mulch piles lasted for at least ten years. One of the selling points of our current house was the fireplace in the family room. The tree crews are still working on the damaged trees from the wind storm a couple of weeks ago. And our phone lines got ripped off the outside wall and we are still waiting for the company to reattach them. I have the feeling if any more damage comes tonight we will go to the end of the service line.
The daffodils are trying so hard!!! And the trees are trying to bud and the birds are attacking the feeder again. We all want spring to arrive!

Barbie: Congratulations to Jake on his way to recovery! A person gets satisfaction from being able to do things that are useful. I bet he will savor every victory.
Pip: I remember DH signing something and I think it was a t-shirt, but I'm not sure. It could have been a scarf. We sent it back to you last year.
Rebecca: I love your comments about moving. You are very skilled and organized. You have a great attitude, too.
I have been reorganizing my kitchen and I am very pleased with getting things off of counters and into cupboards. We had several kitchen appliances that are old enough to vote but haven't been used in a long time. I moved them into the garage to make prime storage space available for the things we are actually using. We now have our FoodSaver & a stick blender sharing the shelf. The items we took into the garage will be thrown away or donated to the senior center thrift shop here in town.

Happy Saturday ladies! It's afternoon and I'm still in my pj's. I had so many plans in my head for today and then I woke up to a snowstorm. It will be a day of staying inside, reading and working on a baby quilt I started.
No flowers blooming in our yard yet. The birds and squirrels were trying so hard to get at the bird feeder. My DH shoveled a path from our deck to the birdfeeder and threw more seeds out. I think the robins are confused with the 50 mph gusts of wind and all this snow! We live in the white area of Green Bay...18-30 inches of snow. UGH.
Will try to pop in later. Hope you are all having a great day!

Hi Sisters, just cleaning guest room and upstairs before the fambam arrive in force (and noise and mess). Just wanted to say Machka, do your best to insist that your hubby's room is kept as quiet as possible so his body can sleep and heal. When I worked as a night shift nurse aide, I had different personality head nurses. One was super quiet tiptoeing around believing that sleep was what everyone needed the most. Another was ADD and had to be doing something constantly. She was as noisy as possible on purpose. Whenever we went into a room with four people in it to put someone on the toilet, she wanted everyone to wake up and go to the toilet. This gave her great satisfaction because then she could spend the next hour writing copious notes about everyone's bowel movements. She would actually wake up people to ask them if they needed to go to the toilet! They would get so annoyed. The quiet nurse was much preferred by the patients. When I spent the night of the Super Blue Moon in the hospital with my daughter and her ectopic pregnancy surgery, the machine that was hooked up to her was so loud and beeping noisy there was no way anyone would get any sleep. Maybe it's possible to turn down the volume on those machines. Worth asking! I do hope he will start communicating with you. I can only imagine the intense stress you are under, with such a major trauma life disruption to deal with.
Rye, so glad Kidd Kirby is doing good. Sending love your way too. Wendy3 -
Rye, the kitties look so cozy together! I could never get any of mine to snuggle like that! I was always impressed when they were sitting on the same piece of furniture, but that would be one on the seat and the other on the arm! Strange creatures, cats....
Lisa, by now you are probably in your new home! I hope your travels were good and that Egg settles down quickly.
Rebecca, I'm so excited for you in your new home! The photos look lovely, I'm very envious of your kitchen with all the drawers!
Machka, thanks so much for keeping us in the loop! Sounds like hubby is making definite, although slow, progress. I'm sure his brain and body knows what it needs to do to heal, it will just take time.
Pip, sorry to hear that Kirby's MRI didn't show anything conclusive. I have to agree, it's much easier if you know what the problem is, then (hopefully!) it can be treated.
Heather, so proud of you for letting the boys know what happened to you! I am also happy for you that someone might be interested in helping you out with the publishing. I do understand the anxiety over moving, we weren't anxious, we thought we had all of our bases covered. Perhaps we should have been more anxious, because it was NOT a smooth move! It all got dealt with, but it took us two days to move and we had hired movers for the heavy stuff! Oh well, it got done eventually.....
Michele, if Vince figures the "L" needs to be cleaner, maybe he should clean it! lol Sorry, that's all the advice I have. Although Brasso might be something to try, don't know if you can get that where you are, but something that is made specifically to clean brass might work.
Kelly and Betty, I'm with you! I want spring to arrive too! It's nice here today, but yesterday was just nasty! Poured with rain most of the day and it was getting dark by 6 p.m. already. I know that's not ice storms or snow, but I'm done with that much rain happening too!
News, I like watching our local news, it does the city stuff, then island and then national and international. I do like to know what's going on even when some of it makes me sad or mad. I do try to not dwell on it and if some of my friends post stuff in support of a certain political stance I will block that site or at least hide the post. Don't need the propaganda from those who think their ideas are the only ones that are important. I also hide the posts that "bash" ideas or movements, again, don't need that negativity.
Yesterday was a good day, at least til later in the evening. Really need to brush my teeth right after dinner! Stayed up a bit later than I should have too, so feeling kind of sleepy today. Was a little bit smarter last night tho, had my shower, then went on the computer, so when I started feeling sleepy, I just went to bed! Usually that's when I go have my shower, so then that wakes me up and it goes on from there.... Got in a pretty good workout yesterday too, plus was fairly active at work. Need to get more active at work today, so far I've been a bit of a slug!
Welcome to the newbies, hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating!
Hope everyone has a great day/night!

afternoon ladies~
what a glorious day here it was in the mid 70s, not going to stay that way .but will take what I can get...
took Alfie and my son to a roadside stand a few towns away for lunch and holy cow was it packed.....had to wait 45 min for our food... but well worth it..sitting in my room jammies already on and the window open..
I am blessed6 -
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I'm feeling calmer now. Tomorrow I will make the final decision on the cover for the book.
I did a bit of meditation today from the Calm app.
Watched a programme on York (Vikings) this evening. I'm going up there next week by train for a reunion with the "girls" and my Difficult Friend. The weather is meant to be good. That's one of the reasons why I want to get my book finished. Very busy for the next couple of weeks.
So sorry to hear of all the snow and ice some of you are expecting.

MICHELLE my Mum had a collection of brass ornaments which we cleaned using BRASSO don't know if that's available in US or come to that in UK now. I inherited this stuff but gradually got rid of it, it did look nice though when it was polished up.
