Mary in Arizona What a beautiful spot! I'm jealous. You have a beautiful dog by the way. I remember pictures of him when he was a puppy in Minnesota! I'm thinking of getting a dog since we lost our 13yo black lab, Jack, in November. Thinking of getting a rescue, but I've been seeing quite a few German Shepherds. Are they hard to train? Good with kids (grandkids?)
Your nephew's picture is hilarious, by the way! hahaha! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Gals,
Pip – good news/bad news, I’m with you I would just want to know so a fix could be found….
Tammie -welcome, you sound like you’ve got a great start
Carol and Michele – I’ve never had a colonoscopy either, but will be having one this year. For me it was no family history and they did the stool check instead but with my brother terminal colon cancer, I’m being scheduled for one and am considered much higher risk.
Machka – oh that is good news !!!! the frowns and facial reactions show he is processing things!!! Still sending good thoughts to you both
Kate – UTI – just a thought and not sure it is proven in a medical study, but my mom used to get UTIs all the time she now does 4 ounces of cranberry juice every single morning and has not had one in 10+ years, and she would get 4-8 a year!
Rye – glad to see you back, and the inter-twined cat picture is cute!
Janetr – what a great picture!
Karen – the picture your brother did is stunning
Mary – got a giggle looking at the snow picture!
I’m having a hard time with my eating with the stress of my brother’s situation, my mom is taking it hard (not a surprise) and also not a surprise is leaning on me, I’m soothing with sweets, not good! I decided to meal plan the whole week to see how that goes… I have meals I am looking forward to, I know I am better if I am full.. any bit of hunger + stress = sugar! So I may eat on the high side or eat back some exercise calories to keep the sugar away.

Tracie- nice to see you posting! Thanks! Sorry about Jack. German Shepards are great with everyone if trained properly. Shep is extremely loving and gentle with little kids and dogs. They need discipline though or are smart enough to become the boss. I still have a training collar on Shep especially when we go to the dog park. He has been attacked several times because of his size is intimidating to other dogs. He is really tall and long. He will probably get over 125 pounds. So I use it to call him away from other dogs that are aggressive. I would definitely recommend this breed. You probably got some of the snow that hit Minnesota! My nephew and his dad have a great sense of humor!

I fought with MFP all week trying to upload a photo. Several ladies have said they were not able to log food. What a pain. Oh cute I see you got your photos up.

My old rotary 1957 black phone works! We found it on EBay for $40, and there was an adaptor on it. It's loud!
Our son on it! Sit son sit!

Morning, stormy, windy night, power went out and quickly back on so luck was with us. Wind is still howling, gonna be a weird Monday! I've got my food prepped, roast chicken with salad for the my lunches this week, homemade hummus and guacomole for snacking with cucumbers and a baked oatmeal that was made with sweet potato and no sugar and oh yeah I made a delightful tahini salad dressing with lemon and just a touch of olive oil, this will be quite tasty on the salad.
DH and I took a drive to visit MIL yesterday and I spoke with DH about my feeling so blue, he was quite good about it all, and kept pointing out the buds on the trees and the bits of color starting to appear on the bushes. I've just got to keep moving forward and making good choices/ Remember that old saying " dress for the job you want, not the job you have" well I'm gonna try act like how I want to feel..... Tere, hello! Hope life is treating you well... It's been a while since we've seen you.
Katiebug, love the craft room/nursery!
Machka, really like the doctor's advice of considering his progress over a week at a time, rather than in moments or days. Always felt it was much harder to be the partner than the patient. Very glad to see you taking back your own health and fitness, so you can be there for him, as well as feeling more like yourself.
Mary, beautiful place!
Tracie, good to see your face again, as well! Don't envy the snow at all...
So, I finally found the box with the bathroom scale, and after getting on it, it said I weighed 90.4 pounds! Put my glasses on, and realized the kg button had been bumped, and it said I weighed 90.4 kilograms!Which, translated for my non-metric friends, is 199.3 pounds! Found One-derland, finally! Not surprised, after this marathon weekend, but very, very pleased.
Egg is not only doing better, but as I type this, is watching the words appear on the big TV screen with much fascination. She's never been able to watch my work appear across the room, and will have to yell at her in a minute, as she'll want to jump up by the TV. She already has done, once! We've got my laptop hooked to the big TV for the moment, as we're using my phone as a hotspot and have been watching Britbox on Amazon when we relax for a few minutes. Finally finished all nine seasons of "As Time Goes By." First time I got to see the whole story from beginning to end, instead of just what they were willing to put on PBS!
Yep, had to yell at her.Between the clicking behind her, and the letters appearing out of nowhere, it's more than a kitty can stand!
As soon as I get done with y'all, have to finish getting the home inspection finished, as the management company's over this morning, and once that's done, I can finally start putting shelf paper down in the kitchen, so we can get that straightened out today. Yesterday was the most expensive day... bought a bedroom set, living room chairs and tables, bits and bobs that we needed to replace, like a shower rod and curtain. Then went to Lowes and bought a refrigerator, a small freezer, and washer and dryer. Thanks to selling the warehouse, we won't go in debt for them, but do want to replace the money in savings at first opportunity.
The furniture will come in tomorrow, and the appliances this weekend. We bought a mini-fridge on Saturday, first thing, which will do us until then, and as soon as we can find our clothes, will have enough to get us through to next weekend, hopefully. I know they're around here somewhere!
Tomorrow, I also need to run up and get my son in Fayetteville, AR, and bring him down here for a medical appointment with the VA at 12:30. Then one or both of us will run him back up there. It's a bit over an hour away.
Other than that, the whole of this week is just putting the house in order, as I'm back at work next Monday. Will need to wear my earpiece today, as some e-mail messaging I saw this weekend means I'll be getting some questions on scheduling my travel around an allocation meeting, but no biggie.
Love y'all,
Lisa in Arkansas (and One-derland!)

Good Monday morning All!
Yesterday was productive for me and strangely relaxing.Didn't get a lot of "work" paperwork done, but had some issues that were time consuming and those were accomplished.
Had 2 people walk through rental yesterday. Will be holding out a while longer though. One was a family of 4 with a dog, 9yo girl and 11 yo boy. It is only a 2 bedroom house, so they are a no. The other was a "mature" engaged couple wanting to see if they can live together with their 2 dogs and a cat. They didn't like having to pay an extra $105 a month for pet fee, but $2000 for carpet every flip gets expensive if have to do every year or two.
Better go get ready to head to work. Have to get to store tonight. No bread, butter, eggs, milk, creamer......That is after massage!
Hugs! High fives! Congratulations!

Good morning ladies! Quick shout out due to waking up late due to stormy weather last night. Snow day called for hundreds of schools, including the district I live in. It's going to be an interesting day. Will I have more kids? Less kids? Which kids? Do I have the energy to clean up the melting salt that will be getting tracked in all day? Superhero Day today. I guess I better find a phone booth so I can make the "quick change" into my cape and tights! ttfn xoxoxo KJ9

Lisa ~ Sounds like you are setting up house like a pro. I was surprised that you had to buy a refrigerator as we furnish the frig, washer/dryer, and yard work with ours.

Rori: I'll take a dose of that sunshine. We don't have snow, but we have loads of water in the river and it is HIGH. This is really good news for the baby salmon travelling downstream. :ohwell:
DrKatie: Your room is very appealing. Great job!!!
Mary: Do your nephew and his dad also do the polar bear swim?
(((Kim))) It seems like your mom is leaning on you hard. You are a good daughter and need to take good care of yourself, too.
Rebecca: Love the photo of your DH in his hospital garb. What a great smile and attitude. How does he like Whidbey?
We were awakened by a fire alarm chirping this morning. There isn't any smoke in the house and we can't figure out what caused it to chirp. It is quiet now. We have two of alarms side by side. One is battery operated and has a reassuring green light. The other is wired into the electricity. It is quiet once again but we don't know why it chirped in the first place.
