    Goals for yesterday:
    Stay within 1409 calorie goal ✔
    Drink two 24 oz bottles of water at work: close, but not quite, it was SO busy!
    No extra snacks at work ✔

    3 pieces of pizza and a half a piece of a $lutty brownie and I still managed to stay just under my calorie goal! It's amazing how many calories you can burn just getting up to go to the bathroom/use the copier/walk to the kitchen for coffee in my branch! Lol.

    I used to work in an office that was on the fourth floor, it was the first time I lost weight. I would take the stairs instead of the elevator. The bathroom was also down a long hall. Now I have literally 20 steps to the bathroom and less than half that to the "kitchen". It's really hard getting steps in here.

    I've been MIA and not eating the best. Sorry I don't have time to catch up on this thread, but my JFT goals are:

    1. Stick to my eating plan: tofu scramble with zucchini, mushroom, and onion for breakfast, whole wheat pasta with tomatoes, basil, and garlic for lunch, gardein "chicken" florentino for dinner.
    2. Drink water! At least 8 cups before leaving for work at 3 pm today.
    3. Empty dishwasher and clean the kitchen.
    4. Kitchen closed, teeth brushed, and in bed by 1 am.

My MIL says to Cathy, "Well Cathy look at that, they are behaving themselves. We knew they would grow up one day, who knew it would take 50 years to do it" They laughed and laughed at how much trouble the "boys" used to get into. From the stories I have heard over the years there was a lot of partying, that these women put up with. Both Don and my FIL drove truck and I'm sure there was some running around that happened. But these women stuck it out, now Don and my FIL are neighbours, there entertainment is sitting playing cards and having a drink. They hardly leave the house, I bet the women are thankful for this.

    Nowadays I think too many couples give in to easy to just saying it's over. I don't think there is a "perfect" marriage where there is never an issue. It's just how much you want to fight for it.

    As you know I have been out making cold calls and trying to get some business, I have really stepped out of my comfort zone to do this and was hopeful that I would get some business for the company for my efforts. We have been asked now for about 6 quotes in the last month, this is about 5 more than we had in the first 6 months I have been at the company. This is positive, and I'm quite proud of this. My problem is the VP keeps bidding too high. We were told last week when we didn't get one that we were "several dollars more than the other companies". We had bid $26.00/hour. Yesterday we had another quote request and he bid $34.00/hour! This is about 12.00 more an hour than most of the other companies here in the area. I asked him about it and he told me "Get some business where we can give quotes and we'll look at the rates". I am so discouraged today, I don't even want to try anymore. How am I to get business when I know we are so much higher than the other companies. I don't understand his thinking at all.

    On a positive note, the young lady that is starting the business got her Incorporation Certificate yesterday, she can now start applying for grants and loans to get up and running. Hopefully soon I'll be working for her full time. My only concern is that part of my "salary" with this job is a company vehicle, that includes all gas, maintenance, insurance, etc. I need to purchase another car now and don't have the money for it. I'm sure it will work out, it's just a niggling worry.

    I'm so glad it's Friday. My swim lessons are from 9-10pm so by the time I get home, showered, hair dried it's a late night. Tomorrow I'll be able to sleep in. Then I just have to get through 3 more next week. I will be missing the last lesson as we are going out of town.

    LOL that's awesome! I was thinking about fries yesterday and refrained. So far this week I've done well. I've resisted lasagna (although to be honest I asked Kaitlyn if she wanted Olive Garden yesterday and she declined). We went to Denny's and I thought about a burger and fries and refrained. I'm learning I think.

    I decided to splurge a little and bought tickets to the only Nascar sanctioned race that comes to our area as a surprise for my hubby tomorrow night. He loves Nascar and has watched it for years. This is the Pinty series so not the big drivers that are in the States, but he will enjoy it. I will enjoy it because he will be enjoying himself. The food choices will suck, but I will stay away from the beverages. It's about a 40 minute drive from our house so I will be the driver. I'll try to sneak in a couple healthy snacks :) I can't wait to get home and show him now!

    Eat in Maintenance

    Checking in tonight because tomorrow is going to be a very full day. Hubby wants to build a picnic table in the morning. The gates open for the race day at 12 and probably won’t end until around 11 tomorrow night.

    As soon as I got home tonight I had to turn back around and go into the city. I was starving and we ended up getting McDonalds. I still ended up in the green at least, but I’m a little peckish tonight.

    Saw Kaitlyn tonight, she is bruised and her hand is turning all wonderful shades of blue and purple but she feels good. She leaves bright and early in the morning for Vegas. Part of her course is going to an award show? For hairdressers. There is a red carpet formal event she is trying to figure out if she can cover the bruising. It’s her first trip out of country and she is quite excited.

    I’ll check in on Sunday, have a great day tomorrow.

    I'm not sure why, but I have been super wiped out lately! I spent the last majority of yesterday asleep (keep in mind I worked until 8 am yesterday). So, I was only awake for a couple of hours and I spent most of that time laying down, ha! I didn't get anything done yesterday!

    Is this a "man" thing?? So many of my friends say the same things... their hubbys just are content at home! My hubby only gets out 2x a week to go to the gym ... and we don't do that together because he likes to go saturday and sunday afternoons (and he stays for 3 hrs!).     My Dad enjoyed going out and doing things even if it was just a drive to look at scenery. My FIL rarely goes out lives just being at home and doing his thing. Most of my friends husbands prefer being home except one who is a social butterfly. My daughters spouses one goes out and one stays home. That’s three generations and I would say the majority like being home. So based on my “research” I would say yes it is a man thing.

    For what it's worth, Joan, I could have written some of your post word for word. I crave some excitement in my life, and sitting home watching tv everyday certainly isn't what I had in mind.

    Sorry I've been MIA! I'm trying to reconfigure our whole family's schedule to obtain some routine again. We are still in a rental due to slow progress on our home remodel plus the vacation hosting 19 people wore me out!!
    I'm on a "breastfeeding diet" so my weight loss is not happening, but it's all about the little guy this season! Life has been busy and crazy all year this year but I'll get it together again soon. I have no choice bc school starts back in 3 weeks. This is my final 2 semester's for my BS degree so hardwork is coming my way!! :flushed: I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from everyone!!

    LOL! I was behind 5 pages this morning, but since it's Saturday and I'm letting myself wake up slowly, I'm going back and reading them. 1168 is a little daunting!

    Such a busy group! I love it! I've been MIA for a few reasons...one is that is just hard to hop on in the morning or at work, and at night I come on and read posts but then feel like it's too late to post. I have been working on getting up earlier...like when the alarm goes off and not 8 Snoozes later!!! If I ever accomplish that goal, I'll post before work! I find if I post the night before, I can't remember what goals I gave myself and when I look back to see, I find that what sounded like a great idea the night before doesn't sound so great that day! :dizzy: Go figure, right?

    I got the results of the MRI's back. I have a torn/detached labrum in my left hip and have to have surgery on 8/23. I'm not happy about this, obviously, but it is what it is. I'm trying not to focus on the pain of hip surgery and focus more on the fact that if all goes well, I might be pain free to actually start taking walks (which was my goal this year!!!). Having surgery that date is really messing me up at work. I want to put it off and have talked to my husband, my boss and my team about it, but they are all urging me to get it done and do it right. If the surgeon wasn't leaving our clinic in October, I would put it off. But I really want him to do the surgery, so I guess the 23rd it is. I don't think I have gone a whole year without at least one surgery in about 7 years now. I should have my own exam room at that clinic! LOL!

    Anyway, to be honest, I have been emotional eating all week. Nothing horrible, but my calories on here say I should stay under 1200 and I've been more like 1500. I'm going to pull myself out of my pity pot today, put on my big girl panties and get back to it.

    Not going to do a whole lot today. Putz around the house and maybe run a few errands. Tomorrow, we are heading to a flea market about an hour from here. I don't know how long I'll make it since my hip is so sore. (Actually, I was told I shouldn't be weight-bearing on it at all right now and should be using a cane...pfft! Like THAT is going to happen! I'm the world's worst patient...just ask my DH)

    I miss you all when I'm not on here! I've never personally met you, but you have become part of my daily world. Hugs to everyone! Welcome to any newcomers! This is such a great group!

    Just For Saturday:
    1. Stay in the green
    2. Spend at least 15 minutes with my own thoughts.
    3. Think before I speak. Try to get my point across with a certain person in a matter-of-fact calm way no matter what kind of drama this person tries to turn it into.
    4. Snack on 1 lb of veggies & 2 svgs fruit
    5. Go to library to check out book one of our clinic docs recommended regarding diet/nutrition/health.
    6. Lymphedema massage x2 on arm / PT exercises for back
    7. Take a bike ride or a spend some time near water.
    8. Podcasts - Half Size Me from Monday and try one new one
    9. Gratitude journal / Simple Abundance daily reading / Spiritual daily reading
    10. Catch up on my other MFP thread

    I’m so very happy to see your post, I’ve been worrying and wondering if you got bad news from your MRI. I’m sorry you have to have surgery but hopefully this will be the last for a long time!

    Aww! Love! I want to wrap you up in a big hug! I'm glad that at least you have an answer now! I'm sure that the surgery will got as awesome as planned and that you will be back up in no time. I bet that before the snow starts to fall you'll get a few walks in! I tend to spend a few minutes with my thoughts in the morning. I'll just sit back and let my mind go. Sometimes it goes totally random places but sometimes I get some really good ideas and insights into things going on in my life. I hope that is how it is for you. Feel better and have a great time at the flea market.


    @Snowflake1968 How is the race going? Is your DH having a blast?
