Do you do a specific kettlebell workout? If so, is it on YouTube or DVD?

I follow Pavel Tsatsouline Kettlebell Simple and Sinister he wrote a routine for Stronglift instructors that is a compound lifting routine with progressive overload, which means you use every muscle and constantly increase reps, sets, or weight amounts. I'm working at increasing to my 45 pound Kettlebell. The longest workout I'm doing is 25 minutes long but work time is only 15 seconds ( time it takes to squat or swing) every minute. So really only working 6-7 minutes max.

I'd love to join this thread! Just started tracking my food and exercise on myfitnesspal and LOVE the app!!! I will lose 35 lbs. by my birthday - November 8th - when I will turn (gasp!) 60! Not doing any diet - just keeping calories at or under 1,000 per day and decreasing carbs, upping protein and fiber, and committed to 30 minutes of cardio per day.2

Happy August ladies!!!! Big surprise this morning-weighed myself this AM and have lost 10 pounds so far!! This is a surprise because from Thurs-Tues I was on the other coast with my dad and sister. It is always stressful but obviously I didn't do too badly! My sister is an inspiration to me so that helps.
Speaking of decluttering, my mom passed away last September and my Dad is preparing to move into a fancy-schmancy retirement village. We walked through the house and Dad pointed out what he wanted to take with him and he wanted me and my sister to point out things we wanted. I don't want anything, but will be taking the sterling silver flatware for 12. I don't want it, my sister doesn't want it, but Dad wanted one of us to take it. It's the only thing he is worried about so I should be grateful
July Goals:
10-11K steps a day-most days
Continue to track food daily-most days
Ask for names/phone numbers of personal trainers at my gym and call someone!-meeting with a personal trainer on Monday!
Do planks every day-most days (up to 1 minute!)
Lose 5 pounds-YES
August Goals-not really set until I meet with the trainer
10-11K steps a day
Track food
Work-out with personal trainer
Increase plank time to 2 minutes
Lose 5 pounds
Barbie-Back pain is the worst. Hope they figure out what is going on and how to fix it! Prednisone is a hard one for me, but it always helps. And 5 days is better than 10!
Lisa Thanks for setting this up! I'm really enjoying your blog about your house!!!
That's enough for now!

I had a migraine yesterday so didn't do much of anything. Combination of no sleep, anxiety, smoke in the air, and allergies. We had our windshield repaired Tuesday about 2 hours south east of where we are camping so stayed overnight in the parking lot of the repair shop in the city without electricity. Extremely hot, and noisy with trucks backing in all night to deliver stuff. But, at least it is done.
Switching to following the DASH diet has been really good for me, so will continue that goal and add checking my glucose twice a day to try to get my fasting sugar to under 90 in the morning. Currently down to 120 from 140 so going in the right direction.
GOALS:
49,000 steps a week (7,000 a day average)
Yoga once a week for 20 minutes
3-4 veggies a day (1/2 cup servings)
4 fruits a day (1/2 cup fresh, 8 oz juice)
75 oz of water a day
3-6 servings (4 oz) of lean meat a day
2-3 dairy a day
6 servings whole grains a day
nuts/seeds 3 times a week
2-3 servings of good fats and oils a day
no sweets
check glucose twice a day

Lanette: Thank you for providing the link to "Grain Brain" information. I've finally finished the series and it gave me plenty to think about.
Snowflake: I can understand your DH's reluctance to cutting up your dad's work. It would feel risky. Perhaps you will be able to reassure him that you won't be uspet if things don't go perfectly. :flowerforyou:
Meg: I hope you get well soon.
Rebecca: Sending good thoughts for your DH. Congratulations on driving!
Lisa & Margaret: Thanks for getting us started. :flowerforyou:
Barbie: Sending good thoughts for your health and Jake's, too.
(((Rita))) Hope things get better for you asap. :flowerforyou:
Dandi 1986: Welcome I hope you'll stop by often to give & get encouragement and support.
Sue in WA: Happy Birthday to your mom. 94 is quite an accomplishment. Sorry about the inconsiderate relatives. :ohwell:
Wendy: As you are beginning to see signs of spring, we are beginning to see signs of fall. Days are getting a bit shorter day by day. We still have summer weather, but the signs of change are also there. The Osprey babies for this year are now adult sized birds that sit on pilings in the river and beg to be fed. Mom and Dad Osprey are busy creatures.
Heather: I've been so impressed with your organizational steps to get ready for your move. WOW.
A former neighbor is very ill, and the people around her are sad and upset. When she and her DH moved away more than a year ago, they asked me not to visit them down on their boat and I have complied with that. Her DH is a train wreck. This is a small town, and when he sees us in the hardware store of grocery store, he becomes upset. I am so sorry that is the case. I have no idea why we are a trigger for his emotions. My guess is that is the horrible disease process is dragging him down.

Real quick: Here is one of the ships coming into port for Coast Guard Festival. The other photo was taken from my oldest son's neighbor's window (my DOS has the same view, but was down in the streets for a street dance on this evening). Sunset over the CG Fest Carnival.
That looks amazing, would love to see that in person.2 -

Wendy, I love Tiger Balm! Funny story.
Once upon a time, Rebecca was a slim thing, meeting her dear sailor in Thailand. It was a topless beach, so Rebecca mentally practiced lying on the beach, (but on a tanning bed). When her dear husband asked if she wanted to go topless, she smirked, smiled and stripped! Hours go by, and she has a slight sunburn on 98% of her body. Towards the afternoon her dear husband spies an old lady doing massages under a palm tree. Rebecca bravely decides to have a massage, so she lies on the woven mat. It was then Rebecca and Tiger Balm became one. So the old lady had a bit of sand in her strong hands, and with the Tiger Balm poor Rebecca thought she was going to implode right there and then!! The old lady manipulated Rebecca, and she didn't know if she was truly in Hell, or Heaven! At one point the old lady took Rebecca's leg and gave it a tug. A guy walking down some steps yells, "Good One"! Oh let me die right here and now, Rebecca prays...
On the good side, that experience taught me that Tiger Balm helps sun burns! I'm the plane ride home to Japan, all the other Navy wives were messing with their sun burns, while I was pleasantly glowing!
💗😝😬😀😁

Heather--you have been busy. I know when I clean a space how much better I feel.

Hi friends. I think my UTI is much better, but now I’m nauseated, probably from the antibiotics. It’s always something, isn’t it?
Today is DH’s birthday. Those people who have been around a while know I like trying to be funny and crack myself up sometimes. So I sent him a birthday email (remember it gets read before he gets it) that said “Here is your birthday sing-a-long. Follow the bouncing ball! Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, you look like a felon, and you…oh…S**T you are a felon! I think he will get a big kick out of it. He often signs his emails “Your jail bird”. Gotta try to laugh.
I’m getting my hair and nails done today (shellac mani) so I will look better than I do now for my visit next week. Yes it’s another trip to Colorado! I have discovered what bothers me so much. I am withering inside from the lack of affectionate touching. I don’t mean sex (although that’s fun too), but just being held and cuddled, and sitting next to someone on the couch. DH was very affectionate that way…always reaching out to touch me, play with my hair, rub my feet. I crave that.
Wendy: great pics! Nice goals, too.
Rori: your pool sounds delightful. I noticed how toned you were looking when we met up in June. Maybe we can meet for a drink this time. I will have my best friend Carolyn with me.
Michele: I love your attitude!
Barbie: OMG you fell! Take care and be safe! You just worry about you right now, we’ll be here when you get back (((hugs)))
Mary: you sure have a lot on your plate. Sending healing thoughts for everyone! Good for you on your progress!
Margaret: sending healing thoughts to your family too!
Zippy: welcome!
ACanadian: good work on the loss!
Heather: why are you angry at night? I can see the anxiety.
Lisa: safe travels!
KJ: That sunset picture was AWESOME.
Chaserainbow: welcome!
Elizabeth: great job!
Katla: thank you! That is rather odd about your former neighbor.
Well my August goal is to get back to exercising and lose 5 pounds. I almost made my quarterly goal of 15 pounds: 13.8 so I figure that’s a win. Well it’s off to the grocery store for me!
Take care, meg from Omaha

Groceries bought, Pygmy yard mowed and roots colored. I saw a coral snake in the front yard while I was mowing and almost had a heart attack! I hate snakes!!!!

Rebecca, love your Tiger Balm story. I will remember it each time I use it. Don't you love the name? A great name makes all the difference.
Well, yesterday turned out pretty good for me. I made progress with my horse training, did a bit more quilting, a few more loads of topsoil moved from the roundpen down to the Secret Garden and I wrote another scene on my book. I fasted all day but indulged in a glass of wine and a chocolate chip cookie in the evening...still dropped another pound on the scales this morning, moving closer to my Happy Place. I made a gourmet dinner for my husband which he loved: a venison meat pie in hand-made pastry. I get a lot of pleasure out of watching him eat. I find I can eat vicariously and just about taste every bite. LOL So today is Day four of my second fast. I'm eating a small amount, under 500 cals each day so the weight is coming off slower but it's coming off and that's the main thing.
Katla, it is funny to think of your coming autumn when it's our coming spring. The world is a strange and wonderful place.
Kellie, I wish we had a festival like that here. It looks amazing and that sky is to die for!
Heather, and any others who wake up at night with anger/anxiety, I find it useful to keep Saint John's Wort tincture near my bed. A drop of that under the tongue goes instantly into the blood stream and will calm down your nighttime angst.
Well, I have lots on my To Do list today. I want to get an early start and make some major headway and burn some major fat off. Wendy4 -
Meg- thanks! I appreciate your support. Have a safe trip to Colorado. Congratulations on your success! 13.8 is great! Love your DH's birthday card! He'll get a good laugh as well as whoever reads it! Best wishes to him! Sending you a virtual (((hug)))

Sooooooooooooo very happy with tonight's dinner. Re cooked the meat I salvaged from the freezer disaster into a sort of bolognese. Did that in the IP. Had it with half of the huge marrow I was given at yoga. I baked it, peeled, in slices. Also had half a plateful each of spring cabbage. A sprinkle of grated cheese. Heaven! You should see the amount of veg we eat! We liked the meal so much we are having it again on Saturday with the left over sauce.
Dessert is our own gooseberries with homemade yoghurt.
Meg - I'm angry at the incompetent solicitors. STUPID people. We still have not had a look at the deeds, or fixtures and fittings. We constantly ring them, as does the estate agent. Things have never arrived, or they can't find them etc etc. Grrrrrrrrrr!
DH is also livid.
He is suffering with acid reflux, which I'm sure is stress. Today he saw a practice nurse and she gave him the equivalent of the dreaded Nexium. He's only taking it for two weeks initially, but I'm not delighted. It's very unusual for him to go to the doctor, but it's been disturbing his sleep.
We both feel a bit better tonight. We have done all we can, short of putting a bomb under them.
We will definitely feed back to the appropriate people what we think of the firm.
