8/16 163.2/Really have been struggling with logging food. I went back to work this week, trying to get my routine established. I have not been doing as well these past couple of rounds posting to this group, but I need to do it to hold myself accountable.12 -
@deepwoodslady, Donna, parsley and lemon are both
diuretics. Make a tea of about 8 crushed parsley leaves in one cup of hot water. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Let it cool to warm. You can drink it as is or add lemon juice. Just as effective is adding parsley to your salad. Also, hot lemon water first thing in the morning will help you shed extra fluid.6 -

8/16 - 147. Post and run today, but I'll be back later tonight to read all of the posts ahead of mine. I started SL 5x5 this week with the tiniest amount of weight on my barbell and did my second session last night. Looking forward to getting stronger and adding more weight to my lifts.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!
