I am now on a path to find ways of seeing the world for the beauty it is and enjoying my life with my beautiful kids without being under a dark cloud of delusion.
I don’t miss the guilt, anxiety and hangovers!.
Good luck everyone else on the same journey.
Hello, I can fully understand that social anxiety feeling. I total get it too. I feel I cant join in and have as much fun as the others.. but I'm sure it's wrong.
I think, once I've been in the situation where I've been loose and off hand total living the moment then have forever regrets. So the question is .. do they really enjoy themselves as much as we think?
I've been AF for a few weeks now( I'm not counting,bc I'll stuff it up again.) I'm taking it a day at a time during my worst time of the year.
And the family drink every day like it's a social gathering. Then u can imagine when we do have parties.. its 'mad house'. . I do have the urge but try to occupy myself with serving and cleaning up or if its possible duck out for a walk or gym. They are often too much in party mode to notice I'm gone.
This thread is great for support. They've pulled me out of trouble a few times. I wish u all the very best on yr journey to goal what ever u feels best. Ill look forward to reading your experiences.. ..xo

Give a holler if you're struggling today. Admittedly, I am. Also, finding it mildly ironic and humorous that I've chosen to be single and sober and nearly the same time. Greeeeeaaaaaat.

Side note... how does one change this? I don't think there's any way I'm ever going to get (or need)
218 g of protein a day.

I’m on day 2 after falling off the wagon last weekend after a two-month dry spell. It helps to read the stories of others. Thanks10

@joha5603 - "My Home", then "Goals", then "Daily Fitness Goals", the "Edit". Looks like your macro percentages need to be adjusted.
@colindailey - congrats on Day 2! Stay strong. You can do it!3 -
I never seemed to notice as much because I was drinking so much myself everyday, but....Man!!...There is ALOT of imbibing going on this time of year! Stay strong Sober Squad! We will be turning the corner on a New Year very soon. Just tie a knot in the end of the rope and hang on a little longer! Strength, encouragement and hugs to those who need it! Day 50 for me!10

Keep at it, learn from your relapse, don't get discouraged, and you'll get there. My last drink was the night of January 8, 1992 - going on 27 years ago.

I noticed after falling off the wagon , it takes me a few days at least for my brain to go back to somewhat normal. Today, I felt really anxious after falling of the wagon this past weekend. I was almost to my 5th month sober in a few days. I wish you the best. Just focus on one day at a time. Hugs!6 -

Hang in there! You are stronger than you think! You are gaining control over your life. Happy you can still smile

@Orphia That’s a cute pufferfish and analogy ! I ate that pufferfish recently, but that’s how it goes. Here’s to no more of that for the rest of this year!4

Hugs! Hahaha, love the irony, and the fact that you find it funny too.
I wonder if drinking was part of why the relationship ended. My OH and I came pretty close when we were both at our worst.
Yes or no, you're better off not relying on alcohol to get you through difficult times.
You've got us for a start!0 -
