Umm how.come when you lose weight and you look good some people come to you and the FIRST thing they say is "Are you sick?"9

That some days you just feel hungry all day! Maybe this is just me but I can do just fine within or very close to my calories goals most days but some days, even with healthy and filling foods, I'm just so so hungry. Today is one of those and I'm just trying to get through!23

I genuinely love fat and overweight people as I associate extra weight with hedonism. So when I look back at myself from 40lbs ago, I do not think how fat I was, but rather how much I loved life. I still do, but with restraint :-) !21

I get that after a certain point or get are you losing weight because you're stressed. No I'm just working hard... 😣9 -
That you will get cold much more easily and quickly. I went from 144 to 119 (though currently 122 and I’m working to get back to 119) and I cannot believe how much more easily I get cold. I know it’s because I lost a lot of my insulation. But still. I didn’t expect this.
And just how good you’re going to feel the first time you can fit into an extra small. I was so happy when I tried on and fit into a Banana Republic shirt that’s an extra small. I did buy it.11 -

A lot of the cold comes from eating in a deficit rather than actual body fat (it has an impact, just not as significant). Having a "diet break" and going to maintenance always warms me right up, no matter where I am with my weight.
I guess what I'm saying is, don't worry, it might not always be this bad!18 -

It's not the same as starving but a low grade hunger, especially in the evenings. You're fine all day long with your 3 meals but directly after eating dinner, this low grade hunger comes upon you in the form of old cravings.
That your tolerance and indifference for cravings and triggers is a muscle that will grow stronger with use.
I'm so glad I came across your comment. I have been scrolling for some comfort here because i've been feeling the low grade hunger you talked about and i wanted to find some motivation to not give in to the cravings.
I too experience this. It can be a real battle. If I just can't shake the feeling, I usually allow myself a piece of fruit, which is sweet and satisfying. There was a time of course when there was no way an apple would stave off my hunger, but that and a cup of hot tea miraculously does the trick these days.8 -
I have never had stomach issues quite so bad as I've had this week. I guess I thought it would go away, but I also have to remember that I'm getting older and that weight loss doesn't solve everything.17

No one told me how much more aware I would be of my own body and health. I would go so far as to say I've become a bit of a hypercondriac. On the one hand I can no longer put down to obesity every ache and pain. On the other hand I am so much more observant of my own physical shape, sensations, lumps and bumps. I used to ignore my physical-self, but after all my hard work losing weight I really place so much more value on it.14

Yes, very true! I was freezing when I was eating at a deficit, but now eating maintenance I am always hot.6 -

Hopefully being in deficit and 40 lbs down that happens to me this summer, I'm always so miserable in the heat!5 -
Shaving my armpits. They concave so much more then they use to and now I cut myself all the time .15

I started deficit eating around May last year and I think it helped a lot, even though I had not lost a whole lot yet! I didn't have to turn on the a/c as much except during the hottest days.4 -

Try Darn Tough socks- lifetime guarantee!
I did spend a small fortune on them because after buying only one pair they were the ONLY ones I wanted to wear and I was all the time waiting for them to get outta the dryer
They are mostly wool and fit like gloves but if they fail for any reason, they replace them. I like the micro sock height best but have been super happy with the mountaineer thick socks for this winter. Feels like you are walking on carpet which is better to help foot fatigue.
You may need at least half size bigger shoe for the mountaineer sock but it’s pretty much amazing at keeping feet warm and happy! Of course after losing all the weight the normal shoes are now that little bit larger anyway.9 -

Probably because it takes about a year for your face to tighten back up and not have the slight sag that does look like you may just been sick.
It is the common look after the flu or chemo skin sag.

Yikes. My dermatologist said losing weight will definitely make me look older.

You see posts here before and after of people’s faces ... and they all look younger! ( maybe others don’t post theirs??)

Also, it happens to be that some people are sick and are offended when they are congratulated on looking better when they are actually dying. A coworker lost a ton Of weight, we all hoorayed for her and with her, and turns out she had major liver disease and was dead in a few months.17 -

I did something similar, complimented a friend I hadn’t seen in ages and asked what she did to lose weight, and she said she had no appetite since her husband passed away. Sometimes you just have to apologize and pull your foot out of your mouth.26 -
Yeah, there is a lady at work who has had a kidney transplant and knows that I also have chronic kidney disease. She works in another building from me and hadn’t seen me in a long time, so when she saw me having lost ~150 lbs, she cautiously congratulated me, then checked-in that my health wasn’t the culprit rather than deliberate effort. Obviously, I didn’t take any offense, but I think the reality that it’s more common for people to lose massive amounts of weight in a short time because of serious illness rather than successfully changing their lifestyle is the reason people might wonder. I wouldn’t take it as an insult.23

At work, people usually ask “have you lose weight?”, instead of launching directly into a comment. I think it’s a great strategy.8

Sometimes people are lazy and they use it as a disagree button but then don't explain why. Perhaps one was like that and the other was like "woohoo" 'cause there's always going to be some like that. Could also be someone doesn't like that person and goes around woo'ing all their posts. I considered it a point of pride when I got my first serial woo'er, woo'ing me on all my posts even on the most generic stuff. Could also be a misclick.
Lots of reasons, sometimes that's how it goes.12 -

Another option that was pointed out to me is that sometimes folks will cruise the forums on their mobiles, and it's super easy to accidentally react to posts while you're scrolling. Could totally be erroneous woos8 -
