Only thru pg 34 but need to sleep.
Like Viv and some others, I've had more than a few "off" days this month, missing meditation, knee, swsy even protein and Tumble play goals.
Lanette 90% dark? You are intense! 70% is my limit
Yvonne our Wheaten rescue's "don't soil where you sleep/eat" instinct was also overwritten by her early years. She was left alone 12+ hrs a day in a chain link, concrete floored kennel with no option to do otherwise. It took her a year to accept being an inside dog, but only a few months to be housetrained... except for the submissive urination, that took years and hormones. It took two years (and a near divorce) for her to finally become a good dog. Miss her. "lowest weight in ... years" ConVERYgrats on your hard work and success!
Margaret name your adopted drain?
Karen in VA $300million! Yowzer! Great topic for your GS, with his scientific analytic bent.
Michele your gnome made me smile... looks like he belongs in Sharon's or Rebecca's yard
Heather thanks for the link to the windfarm videos. Would much rather see windmills than drilling rigs off the coast. Alas good handymen are hard to find here... even good $$$ contractors.
Machka so glad you finally have a good dentist! And hooraye for your husband's successful driving assessment.
Tracey Keeping your thoughts positive, well done! That will give you the confidence you want for Friday's interview. You've got this IF you want it!
Katla love your determination to get your DH to have some fun!
Rebecca you ARE one strong lady! Eeeuuuww to sweaty towel flicking jocks. Yuck!
Shannon thanks for sharing your experience on the laser procedure. Not sure that's what Joe had today, it was laser something. The Dr. said it was a 50% milder procedure, but also only averages a 50% success rate. His eyes got uncomfortably hot, and were uncomfortable most of the day. He goes back in early tomorrow morning for a recheck/followup.
Rori saw the wind and blizzard, but not the bomb cyclone, on TV. Please be safe. Was thinking of you today when I heard myself saying "I can't do..." X. Not true, Rori says we CAN do this and she's right!.
Lighter, lovelies!

Sigh. Trying to get over influenza, trying to breathe and dealing with migraines. Missed a whole week of work. Not able to get to my house yet cause I don’t have the energy to drive the 50 min home!!
On the plus side, I don’t have much of an appetite and my daughter does not have or eat much junk food so it is good for me to learn some new habits. Hoping to get home tomorrow

Machka What happened in Christchurch is unthinkable. I am utterly and helplessly sorry for you and everyone else whose sense of safety has been rocked by this tragedy.

Connie... congratulations on making your first weight loss goal!!
Rita ... I understand!! Today's news ... last night my son's overnight staff, afraid to put a wheelchair seat cover in the dryer, decided to hang it off a gas wall heater instead?? At 3:00 they were awakened to smoke alarms and a house full of smoke. No one was hurt and the fire company was not called in. His seat cover is toast. But the question begs asking ... why was the aide "awakened?" She's not supposed to be sleeping. You cannot make this stuff up you know.

Thank you ... but ... we're in Australia and Christchurch is in New Zealand. I actually haven't read much about it at all today, and am not sure what happened. Too busy with work.

Morning Ladies~
I am up and having my tea. going to hop in the shower and then walk the dogs and feed DFIL .. also going to talk with the nurse.. he keeps his eyes closed alot i think because they hurt, and he has alot of gunk in his eyes..so will have them address that with eye drops and warm washcloth to clean his eyes..
I keep praying for an answer to my work dilemma ,and until something changes will just keep on chugging along...3 -
Morning, afternoon, evening, ladies...
Welcome to those who are new, thoughts going out to KJ and Beth.
Nine days now until my son heads for college in Oregon, and watching his anxiety starting to ramp up. Glad he feels he can share that with me, sorry that the only thing I can give him is the small, calm voice that says, "Worrying is actually a rational response to a stressful situation. Then you just take each worry apart, decide if there's anything you can do to change what you're worrying about, and if you can't, then shove it aside." He is his own worst enemy... but then, aren't we all?
It's been fun to get to know the adult he's become. It's also been frustrating, when the child in him shows up, and he gets all emo, or lazy, or just plain teenaged-boy icky (why do they all seem to smell funny?). I will miss him when he goes. And, may I be forgiven some day for this, I will be so glad when he does, and my husband and I have our lives back.
I think I've said before, the essence of adulthood is being able to hold two completely opposite thoughts in your head at once. I'm starting to get whiplash from swinging back and forth one to the other.
April's shaping up to be a busy month - looks like Little Rock on the 1st, Texarkana on the 2nd, Searcy on the 9th, Pine Bluff around the 23rd. Getting to know Arkansas pretty darned well this month, Luckily, most are no more than a three-hour drive, so I'll be home every night but the 1st, when I'll stay in Little Rock.
Staying rooted in the present is an ongoing tussle. There are worse things.
Love y'all,

Lost my post,my fault. Just skimming & can’t keep up.
Beth, the aide at your sons home needs to be gone. What a dangerous situation!

We're kind of remote from these things. But I did read a news article about it after I read what you wrote, and it is terrible. Poor Christchurch ... they have not had a good time of it over the past several years.

Just had dinner and trying not to eat too many "afters" Not sure if my halo will slip, but trying to keep busy and not think about biscuits. (Looking at my food diary I waste far too many calories on biscuits and sweets)
It's still very windy here, someone said we are due to have snow early next week, I hope they are wrong, I don't fancy walking in the snow, I am ready for warmer weather.
I've been doing some knee exercises trying to strengthen my knee, I've noticed if I sit too long I am very stiff when I get up. Sometimes on a dog walk I have to stop for a minute to strech it out. Another reason to lose weight - I don't want to end up nearly crippled like my mum.
Such sad news about the killings in New Zealand, there are some evil people in the world.
I've been sat down long enough, time to take Leah for a walk around the block, hope we don't get blown away at least the sun is shining (for now).
Take care - love to all

Karen - it was you who alerted me to the Christchurch shootings. Then I looked it up. Words fail me.
Going to shop for a few bits with DH ,then we are going to try out our cleaning experiment. Wish us luck!

Nicole from FL: Welcome!
Carol in GA: I use gmail but not chrome. I have no advice but I hope you figure it out.
Heather: I’m pleased that things are wrking out for you to see your friends. :flowerforyou:
Allie: With your love of animals working at a vet’s office might be a great change. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Connie in KY: Congrats on making your first weight loss goal!!!
Barbara: I like dark chocolate, too. The one that I nibble on most often is 72% cocoa. The 86% cocoa is also good, but I don’t choose it very often. It is available at Safeway and Walmart. Safeway is more reliable about keeping things in stock.
Rori: Thanks to Barbara I now know about the weather conditions in CO. I hope you are safe.
Lisa: Which college in Oregon is your son going to attend?

Just to cheer us up in the face of horrible news I am posting a pic of our new bowls on the breakfast table. We love them.

My rowing machine arrived today! Now we've got to put it together.
It was such a busy day at work with one meeting after another, and a long list of things I needed to complete. I think it's going to be like that from now till the end of March!
So the rowing machine is still in the box.
Thank goodness it's the weekend.

Good morning!
I went to a follow up appt with my electro-cardiologist. I’m doing good BUT I have to wear a heart monitor again for 3 weeks. I wasn’t ready to do that again. But eliminating regular coffee and no tea has helped. I’m only drinking one cup of decaf. I loved my coffee!
I dropped 1 pound and looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow!
Okie in TX I know the feeling about being tall and finding long enough pants. I usually go to Dressbarn for slacks. They have talls and are plenty long.
Pray for the families of the shootings in NZ.
Have a good day,

Katla - he's headed for Southwest Oregon Community College in Coos Bay for his first two years, and taking classes that will transfer credits to Oregon State in Corvallis - he's shooting for a degree in fermentation sciences, but I have no idea what he'll actually end up with.
I have no words for the shootings in Christchurch, it just makes me heartsick.

For those "world is a terrible place and getting worse" times, here are some hopeful numbers. I just skimmed the text and went straight for the charts, paying attention to the range of years.

b4leaving "seated exercise" well done! "horribly afraid of falling" I am soooo with you.
Rita, SMH that a teacher leading a class of third graders to check pollution levels in the lake would leave a box of trash on the ground. Unclear on the "pollution" concept...
Beth that your son's next door neighbor was in such pain. Ditto Evelyn's and Margaret's comments.
Sharon, I had two Raleighs, one in my adolescence and teens, the other in my thirties. Loved 'em both and named 'em both "Roxanne".
Okie had the same "mysterious lights driving at night" experience once, couldn't figure 'em out til the pre-dawn glow enlightened me.
Only thru pg 36 but really gotta get back on the meditation/knee exercise track.

Heather: Your breakfast table looks so cheerful. Love having the big windows to look out as you eat.
Beth: What a scare at your son's facility. How stupid could someone be to put a cover over a heater like the aide did.
Good wishes and healing thoughts to all who need them...and don't we all!

Good morning pals. Going to play golf but it is cold this morning. May not be too much fun but it will be exercise because I swing a lot.
Kelly - Can’t believe Joaquin is 2 already. Has his hair grown out?
Have to get ready. Thinking of you Tracy.

Well, the cleaning went pretty well. Got nearly all of it done in an hour each. I'm sure DH won't object to me looking for a cleaner though! He made a great job of the stairs. I have a couple of small things I want to have a go at later, like the rings on the gas hob.
It's lovely when it's done! A glass of wine will be served in half an hour's time!

Dana - Thanks for the tip on Dress Barn. I didn’t know they have talls. I buy 99% of my pants/jeans/leggings from JJill. I usually buy when they’re 30% off or when they go on clearance.

The meaning and use of the "Woo" emoticon is frequently misunderstood.2
