Unfortunately, I've had the opposite reaction. I lost the first 35lbs (of 42lbs) rather quickly, over 6 months. I retained my boobs.
Lost 7lbs over the next 6 months, lost my boobs.
Of course, I'm also a lot closer to my ultimate goal. I'm down into the "normal" body fat range (by estimates, haven't had dexa or anything). It may just be that my body held on to my boobs as long as it had "extra" fat, but when I got down to less fat they had to go.

I’m hoping to keep belly in check enough to keep it even & keep building some chest muscle, since I have more muscle than boob and my stomach would have to be concave at this point to let them have any glory. And then there’s the issue of having too much back/shoulder muscle to let you comfortably fit in the training bra size that actually fits, cup wise 🙄

Sitting with your legs crossed is the most comfortable thing ever. For twenty years I was too fat to comfortably cross my legs, and I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I LIVED.
(I used to sit with my belly brushing the edge of my desk. Now I can cross my legs under it and still have space left over. That's weird.)

I'd like to add this with arm crossing too. I've never been able to cross my arms comfortably while at a higher weight, so now I want to do it all the time. My mother once asked me why I was crossing my arms (framing it in a "is something wrong?") sort of way, and I had to explain that I just like doing it, lol.12 -
When I lost weight years ago I ended up buying silicone bra inserts to keep from being completely flat chested. They're annoying to wear but helped my clothes fit better.
I already have to wear one on the left side. Mine are significantly asymmetrical. They are surprisingly easy to wear though.6 -

Except when it's really hot, which it is half the year here. Then they're wet and sweaty.
And, once when I had a very conservative friend over visiting, our labrador walked in with one of my inserts in her mouth. At first I thought it was a chicken breast and wondered how she'd gotten it. Once I realized what it was I was mortified and tried to pry it out of her teeth without damaging it because they're expensive! My friend looked on in horror while I wrestled a silicone object sporting a nipple away from the dog,and finally asked what on earth it was. I explained it, but I'm convinced she thought it was some kind of perverted sex toy.

Then, all of a sudden a light bulb went off.

I thought I was a pretty conventional 32 B, C, depending on make, but the cups are always somewhere under my armpits, and I have no side boobs to tame.
What I realize now is that my frontage is a 30 B,C, but my back needs a 32.
Convoluted I know, and won’t help too much with bra buying, but at least now I know the why, and it isn’t getting old.
Happy that a small bralette is good enough for most days.

Ah yeah, that's when the style of bra really makes a difference. I need more coverage on the sides with my cups due to my shape so sometimes even though it's the right "size" as far as band and cups, it doesn't really fit.1 -

I have tried most North American brands and styles, available in shops (wouldn’t dare buy on line) and most UK brands/styles. What I ended up with was a bra from Tesco (UK supermarket) that was going out of production. I bought all that were available in local stores, and the on line stock, last year when I was over. (Drove my sisters crazy bra shopping)
I now have 13 of them. They will probably last the test of my life , so long as I don’t lose or gain any weight.

How much better and comfortable you'll sleep AND even more better (more better, I love saying/thinking that ) you will wake up a lot of the times filled with enthusiasm, vim and vigor. Gone will be the days of waking up wishing you would have woke up dead. Gone will be the days of feeling all stiff, sore and grouchy. As you get down to size, you will find yourself (a lot of times) waking up with a smile and with a positive YAY, I get another day to take on the day, with all it's yays and ughs, I get another day to roll with the punches and kick butt (mainly my own) and take names.
You'll find yourself feeling, ummmmm, good--instead of all yuck and bad. Will this happen to/for everyone? I believe so--but we know everyone is different, but it's happening to me, waking up to face a new day is now so much BETTER than when I was obese and overweight. Waking up is FUN now and I'm GLAD to report it!15 -

Mine are fabric with a silicone/water/oil insert inside the fabric, it's like 75% fabric and fabric padding, with a weighted liquid feeling bubble. It is a good balance of shape and appropriate weight/texture, way more comfortable than silicone type.

If I were in your shoes, I'd buy bras for the front and wear an extender in the back.
Also, all boob in the fron (vs the side boob thing) you might want to look into polish bras. But that being said, if bralettes work, just rock those. My boobs are all in the front, but when smooshed into a bra I swear they swim into my armpits. But I'm a 28F (UK) so bralettes won't work. I find Polish bras a good fit.3 -
Also, speaking of boobs. It occurred to me in the shower at the gym today that I no longer get a stanky boob sweat smell. When I was bigger, I don't know if it was my size or my diet, when I would sweat on my boobs, it would have a weird yeasty smell (no yeast infections or anything though). Like someone cooked yeast rolls kind of smell.
Haven't had it in a while, just noticed.11 -
I don't know if this has been mentioned (far too many posts to read!) but, not being able to shave your armpits properly due to the deep dips. I've tried and tried but can't get the razor head to get in there. Waxing is a must now 😩7

I have lost 53 pounds this go around making it a total of 87 pounds. I have gone down several sizes. I still feel fat and have to retrain my brain that it isn't true anymore. I still find myself thinking I should look in plus sizes even though I haven't worn plus sizes for months. I still worry I won't fit in a booth, but I do and sit cautiously on fragile looking chairs. When I try on a 12 and they fit I think they must run large. I am still self conscious when we eat out. The saggy skin, at 64 it doesn't unstretch. Be glad you are young when losing weight. My tailbones hurt more when I ride my bike and I am looking for padded bike shorts. I am cold most of the time. People are nicer. That kind of ticks me off because I am the same person. Those are the not so good things.
The good things, I can feel all my bones. I love the gym and being active. I am starting to love shopping for clothes when before I hated it. I can layer and not look like a stuffed sausage. My joints don't hurt like they used to and I am stronger making work easier. I am an inspiration for those who think they are too old to lose weight. I am starting to recognize myself in the mirror.
I sometimes think I would like to wear my old body for 10 minutes to just remind me of then and now since I have so few pictures and sometimes can't remember. The few pictures I have I can't believe I got that heavy and was still able to be in denial. I am now concentrating on the many positive things and trying to retain my brain to have a better self image then it is used to. After all, I was obese for over 40 years and it has to adjust to the new us.35 -

This is totally true. I have one friend who saw my recent strides and successes and all at once committed herself to eat well and going to the gym... A day later I went to check in with her and she completely blew off the subject. Came into work a few days later (we work together, but only one day a week anymore) and she had polished off an entire jar of peanut butter and a bag of marshmallows in the five hours she was there. Sent her a recent picture from the gym and was blown off again. This friend is one who was all for having me around and talking to me about her diet when she was losing weight about a year ago, and now she's put it back on. I think she's the kind of person that likes to have people around that make her feel better about herself- whether it be because she's doing better athletically (not anymore) or for any other reason that appeases her narcissistic personality.
I do have another friend, on the other hand, that I've known for about twenty years who I fell out of contact with and recently began to bong with once again. She and I check on each other and our diets and talk about what we think could be hindering us if the scale stands still.

I've noticed that the time I spend exercising gives me a lot of time in my own head which has been good at times and not so great at times. I'm sure it's good for me to have that internal reflection, and there are times it makes me feel great but there are also times I still get stuck focusing on the bad in myself. I'm hoping that time (which I didn't ever really take for myself before) will be helpful to my mental well-being overall. I've been fighting with guilt and anger for wasting all the years I did not taking care of myself and have to really focus on being happy that at least I'm doing it now.14

How cold it gets. I have to sit in my car during lunch to thaw out before I head back to work. How you lose people along the way because they're not willing to adapt to your lifestyle. Not asking them to diet or exercise with me but respect that there are things I am trying to avoid in this journey and offering every weekend to do the same thing I have refused before will not make me change my mind.11

On this - my dog was bitten by a snake on a walk last week and I had to carry him back to the house to get him in the car to speed to the vets (He's okay now !).
Point being, he weighs 10.5kg and I appreciate he was more or less a deadweight in my arms, but still, he is 10.5 kg. And I only carried him for about a third of mile.
And people, it was hard !!
A couple of days later and reflecting on it all, I realised I've lost 15kg.
Try lugging a large'ish item a 100 yards - its kind of freaky !24 -
It's kind of a weird feeling, but I'm now skinnier than a woman whose body I had admired a few years back (we still work together). I wouldn't really say it's an NSV because she helped it along by gaining a lot of weight (she's got that "relationship weight" and is getting married soon). It took me a bit to realize that we had essentially flipped as far as weight. I think I'm just so hyperfocused on my body that I don't notice when other people change in weight, and it took me by surprise.13

I love wrapping my hand around my wrist to check how much weight I've lost in a traditionally "bony" area. Used to be I could only just barely touch finger to thumb, but now I can easily get a grip around my wrist. I kind of obsessively do it when I don't have something else to do with my hands and I wonder if my coworkers think I'm weird during meetings haha.8

...I have just experimented and discovered that I can wrap my thumb and pinky finger around my wrist. Easily.
I had no idea that was a thing.
Along related lines, definitely nobody told me that my necklaces would become unwearable with half of my outfits. I've somehow gone from needing extension chains on some of them to having even 16" chains dangling irritatingly low on most clothes. Who knew that you could store that much fat on your neck?!10 -

Along related lines, definitely nobody told me that my necklaces would become unwearable with half of my outfits. I've somehow gone from needing extension chains on some of them to having even 16" chains dangling irritatingly low on most clothes. Who knew that you could store that much fat on your neck?!
This! When I took my before measurements I was wondering why the heck I should measure my neck since there probably won't be much change there. Really happy I did anyways because I lost 1.5 inches around my neck!5 -
How cold it gets. I have to sit in my car during lunch to thaw out before I head back to work. How you lose people along the way because they're not willing to adapt to your lifestyle. Not asking them to diet or exercise with me but respect that there are things I am trying to avoid in this journey and offering every weekend to do the same thing I have refused before will not make me change my mind.
I haven't lost friends over it, but I remember how angry I was inside when I went home and my wife had got snacks that were totally defeating of the goals. She hid them in cupboards and drawers she thought I wouldn't see them. I realized one day that I had not consulted her on my journey and thus I shouldn't be angry about them. Ultimately, it was up to me to stay within my calorie allowance, get my workouts in, and then I would succeed. If I couldn't learn to live with those snack around then losing any weight would be all for not as I would undoubtedly gain it back when I reached my goal. That was last October, I'm over 85% if the way to my goal and have plenty of time a reasonable weight loss to get there.
I still eat snacks, drink alcohol, but realize it is about moderation and consistency. I'm generally happier overall.25 -
I know that maintenance requires continued vigilance. What nobody tells you is that other people think that once you've lost weight you somehow don't need to worry about exercise and healthy eating. Your "diet" is over in their mind. It's frustrating because the same people that were understanding about diet and exercise habits while I was losing weight now think I'm "obsessive" by having the same habits during maintenance. I realize it's taking them time to adjust to the new me.34
