I woke up today thinking it was Sunday!! 🤣 So naturally I snoozed my alarm and woke up late!! Regardless, I managed to get everything taken care of in time; but it's now 10 am and I'm just starting MY day, Lol!!! Well I'm going to be packing and cleaning for the rest of the week (bc I'm juggling that in with the baby's schedule and end of year stuff for 3 school aged kiddos). Good news, we should be moved back home by this weekend!!!! 😂😂
Welcome to all the newbies!!! Please feel free to "jump" right in!! This group is wonderful at motivation, support and friendship!! Everyone stay strong and have a blessed Monday!! 💪😁2 -

Praying for blessings and strength for Hannah and Matt!! God has got this!! 😇2 -
Good morning, and welcome to all the new people!
@HEGoddard0928 Thinking of you right now, big hugs!
@PackerFanInGB I have definitely done the same with hanging onto clothes that I want to fit into! It never gave me the motivation I needed unfortunately.
@Snowflake1968 sounds like a wonderful time!
I am home from work today, I woke up with a bad migraine and just couldn't get myself going. My dad is bringing me to where my car got stranded yesterday about an hour away, apparently when the new tires were put on the lug nuts weren't tight enough and my back wheels started to come loose on the interstate on our way home from time visit yesterday! Luckily my husband pulled off at the next exit but we did not have the tools on us to do anything about it so we had to get a ride home. I swear if it's not one thing it's another with this car this past month. Who knows, my migraine is probably from the stress of the whole thing.
We also had a trunk full of groceries we had just bought at Aldi, so we had to transport those home with us lol. I had tried to do a budget on Saturday and came to the realization we've been spending $1,000 a month on food. For two people!! 🤦♀️ So we're going to try and cut it down to $500, that should be more than doable but we will need to adjust to not just buying whatever we feel like whenever we want, living at my parents' house has spoiled us rotten!
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day.
Yesterday 5/19:
1. Give Rukia her a.m. pills 😁
2. Stay within 2,000 calories 😊 I stayed under 2,100 so I'm going to call that a win because that's a huuuuuuge challenge for me at family gatherings
3. Give Rukia her p.m. pills😁
4. Relax😞 ehhhh
JFT 5/20:
1. Give Rukia her a.m. pills 😁
2. Stay within calorie goal
3. Get a minimum of 5,000 steps
4. Give Rukia her p.m. pills

- Household chores: bathtub/shower , sweep wood floors , laundry , bills
- Clean out purse and laptop bag
- 15 minutes decluttering magazines by my recliner
- Prep for tomorrow, today (coffeemaker, lunch bag, outfit & shoes, laptop bag by door)
- 30 minutes tonight in a bubble bath if I can get the jets cleaned out and working properly. We have a jetted tub and I never use it. It's kind of a waste, don't you think?
- Unplug for Game of Thrones series finale (*sob*) Anyone else watch this? I was so disappointed in the ending! Also really bummed that the series is over.
- Evening routine: 5 things in gratitude journal for today / Joyce reading / Simple Abundance reading / podcast or Calm app / read until lights out.
- Get up tomorrow with alarm the first time. NO SNOOZE BUTTON!
Happy Monday! It's actually pretty quiet here this morning, so I'm loving that right now! I have a busy afternoon with back-to-back meetings, then hair salon for cut and color right from work and then tonight I need to cook a meal for a coworker who is going through a family crisis. We are taking turns making meals for them as they were in the middle of a kitchen remodel and have no stove or anything and have two little ones to take care of while they get the kitchen finished and get through this very difficult time. I'm a horrible cook, so I've decided to make a lasagna-type hot dish with bread and dessert. I think even I won't totally mess up an Italian hot dish. Anyway, my day to bring something is tomorrow.
Just for Monday:- Journal every bite

- Hydrate - water or tea
- Bills
- Clean out purse and laptop bag
- Haircut and color
- Prep for tomorrow, today (coffeemaker, lunch bag, outfit & shoes, laptop bag by door)
- Cook meal for J.
- Evening routine: 5 things in gratitude journal for today / Joyce reading / Simple Abundance reading / podcast or Calm app / read until lights out.

HEGoddard0928 wrote: »So I just stepped on the scale and I almost burst into tears. I am the heaviest I have ever been. Only by a pound or two but still, it's a number I never wanted to see. But here I am.
So tomorrow will hopefully be a turning point for us. We have the follow-up appt with Matt's gastro at 11:45 am. We are not leaving the office until we have answers to what is going on and to what he can do to stop the diarrhea. He needs to be able to eat. Something needs to change. He can't keep living this way. I can't have him living this way. He needs to get back to his life. He needs to go back to work. He needs to feel better. This has just been an insane amount of stress on us. So to all my praying friends, please hold us up tomorrow. We are definitely going to need it.
I have actually burst into tears at the number on the scale. I am at my heaviest point in my lfe right now too. I was doing really good in March and dropped like 8 lbs, bloating was getting better, etc., the life struck and I've put most of it back on. It's such a frustrating thing, isn't it? But that's why we have to remember, this is a lifestyle change and not a diet. Lifestyle changes that we can sustain. We can do this, Hannah. Back on the proverbial horse! I said a prayer for you and Matt earlier today. (((Gentle hugs)))Snowflake1968 wrote: »Home from the shower and a great weekend. So glad you had a nice time! You totally deserve some fun! xoxo
Welcome @jacqui2494 and @Ladytron_ ! Jump right in! Happy to "meet" you.
Good morning to everyone! Hope you all have a great day!

Work deadlines and life stuff are keeping me very busy right now, and I haven't had time to post or keep up with JFT. That will continue this week, with cancer benefit for my cousin, 2-day conference, spa appt., happy hour w/ former colleagues, on and on.... I am almost 200 posts behind, and I really need to post JFT goals ~ my eating has gotten a bit out of control and I need the accountability. Long, 4-day weekend coming up, and I'm hoping to get back into routine then. Until later, best wishes everyone!
Just wanted to say hi Carmela! You sure have a lot going on! I was thinking about you yesterday, wondering if you did the Cellcom marathon. They ended up only being able to do a half marathon because of flooding, I heard. Crazy weather! Take care of you!!

It's pretty late, so I'll be short today...I need to make some money, which means I need to go out of my comfort zone and expand my network.
I also need to get into the working mindset again, since I got pretty lazy lately. I work on contract, from project to project. For my main client, I did a lot of work lately, they were really happy with it but we fixed everything they needed and probably won't be needing my services for a while.
I know there are many jobs out there, my main obstacle is how to find new clients for whom I can work remotely.
Also, I want to get back to that app I was doing in my free time...I think it would be helpful to many people and it's certainly worth doing.
JFT:
- fix at least one thing in the h-app
- pay insurance bill
1 -
Well it's not as bad as we feared but also not as good as we hoped.
Matt does not have cancer or liver disease. The doctor thinks it could be 1 of 3 things.
-His lactose intolerance got worse
-Tumors in his pancreas(I forget what the medical term is)
-A gluten intolerance
So now we have another round of testing and still nothing to make Matt be able to keep anything in. He is getting a breathing test done for the lactose(don't ask me, I have no idea). And then he needs to do a urine test and a blood test.
So some stress is off but there is still a lot of it left. I was really hoping for it to all get settled today. Or at least for him to get something to get better. But the doctor wants to treat the cause, not the symptoms. I should have asked if there was a way to do both, but honestly, I didn't even think of it.
I'm just done with this *kitten*. Like "stick a fork in me and call the family for dinner" done. And I can't help but eat my feelings. I just feel like I'm so stressed out all the time and it is not helping me lose weight or even have any kind of desire to do anything to make it better, ya know?
Plus money issues on top of it all. At this point, I don't know what to do.
Sorry for the rambling. Thanks for listening.11 -
JFT 5/20
Drink extra water-fill my bottle twice 😁
30 minutes yoga 😞
30 minutes HIIT😁
Stay within calories 😁
5 veg servings 😁
3 fruit servings 😁
deep breathing meditation x 2 😁
It’s only 5:15 but I am so tired I would literally get in bed right now if I didn’t have to bring my daughter to taekwondo 🥋 😴.
Did pretty well on goals today overall.2 -

This morning as I was reading through the posts my husband said that there was a little boy about 2 or 3 years old walking on the street between the trailers and he didn’t see any adult around. I stood up and saw the little boy go into our neighbour’s yard.
I went outside to help this little boy and found another one in our yard, probably 3 or 4.
These boys both took my hands and we walked the whole trailer park trying to find where they belonged. They were only wearing pj’s and rubber boots. I asked anyone I met if they knew them, until I finally came up to a man who said that his wife had seen these two out on Saturday wandering around alone. I decided then that maybe the best thing I could do for these two was to call the police. So I did. I had been outside for over 40 minutes at this time and no one had come looking g for them. The police came and were going to take them to the station and call CPS.
Shortly after Rodger and I decided to go out, as we were driving out the RCMP officer told us that they found where they belonged and told us the address in case it happens again.
I hope these parents put a lock on their door so the kids don’t sneak out. I’ll worry about them now.1 -
@HEGoddard0928 - sorry the struggle still continues. At least they are narrowing things down,0

Not too successful today. 😔 This stinking birthcontrol rx has a ridiculous amount of hormones and makes me sick!! Called my OBGYN and she called in a new one for me. Hopefully my system can handle the new rx. Well our afternoon / evening has been full of excitment with tornadoes dropping all around us! 😅 We are all safe. I grew up in tornado alley so I know how to keep my family safe. Needless to say, my day was full of hot-flashes, nausea, packing / moving, award ceremonies and weather watching, Lol!!! I'm DONE. 😂 'till tomorrow....1 -

Thanks for the welcome. I think the daily accountability is a great idea. I lost 9kgs (20lbs) 3 years ago using MFP. Usual story, put most back on
Support and encouragement is essential to be successful. So, here we go again.2 -

Scale goalsEnd of 2017: 174.6
End of 2018: 189.2
January 2019: 186.0
February 2019: 187.0
Today: 192
Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut1. Purchases: Go to Mac store and see if they can retrieve the files off the iMac. Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for Design for How People Learn (Julie Dirksen), On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, or Robert Adams), The Secret Adversary (Christie). Add lamp and wobble board to grocery list.
2. E2: What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options.
5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week -Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals.
6. Medical: Dentist. Onco. PCP. Call to set up checkups with Dass (October). GET MAGAZINES FOR COLLAGES FROM DOCTORS.
7. Theater: Audition for Mamma Mia???
8. House: Mineral oil on tile spots. Check with D about ceiling and taking items to the dump.
9. Fun: Open beading on Thursdays. Coloring at library on Tuesday.
WFTY: Climbing.
Positive thought: I am stronger than those who oppose me.1 -
About to go for a walk this morning. Feeling like maybe I can get back to how things "ought" to be. Last week was grueling in a way that ... I mean, I'm pretty good with words, and I just don't have words for it.
My meeting with the principals was noon yesterday. I had time that I could have had lunch before it, but my stomach was in knots and the thought of eating made me feel sick. Then when I asked to have my department head there, the principal responded in what seemed a very hostile way, asking me why I thought that was necessary, and flat-out telling me that she thought it was a bad idea, and that I wouldn't want the department head to hear some of the things that would be said at this meeting. I looked her dead in the eye and repeated, "I want her here."
Sweet stars, I am so glad I didn't back down. She was SO amazingly, impressively diplomatic and politic. She didn't just tell them I was right about everything (which would have made things worse) but ... she managed to acknowledge and honor their concerns in a way that also supported my reasons for my instruction and my policies.
So, anyway, we survived! And after school I went to Walmart and picked up some Ghiardelli squares for her Now the challenge is to figure out what to say in the thank-you note!5 -
Good Morning!

Well last night sucked. I just spiralled down into a depression. Even cuddling with Matt in the couch didn't make me feel better. Plus I slept like crap last night. Our money issues will be figured out by Friday. We just have to make it until then. I'm back to school today after taking yesterday off. And as much as I love my job I would love to just spend today asleep. But that's the depression talking. I know that everyone says it's not surprising that I'm depressed because of how bad the last 9 months have been for us but I really really hate feeling like this. I spent my teenage years feeling this way. I never wanted to go back to that again. And yet, here I am. Oh well I guess.
