    24 grams total sugar today. No added sugars.

    A veritable smorgasbord! Had a good amount of plants today.
    Orange pepper
    Spinach
    Kale
    Tomato
    Wheatgrass

    Had leftover turkey. 4 grams sugar from whole plain turkey? (I checked a few entries on MFP database)

    Would have thought meat was 0 sugar!

    30 grams of sugar today and I'm pretty sure Honey Bunches of Oats was the heavy hitter. Then following was carrots, potato, red onion and bread.

    I'd like to set a sugar target. After reading comments, I'm Thinking 24 to 30 grams. And none of it being added sugar. Does this sound like a good goal.

    I think it's a logical goal since even fruits and vegetables have sugar in them. Yes, I think it's a good one!

    By the way, I'm so glad that part of the title of this thread reads "limiting added sugar" because I do not plan to completely avoid it and there are so many things I'm still learning. I had 22 grams of sugar, bread and fruit mostly.

    I ate a ridiculous amount of sugar yesterday. Pancake syrup, fig Newtons... challenge failed. Today is a new start.

    @threewins - hi! I noticed you have a lot of “unknown” sugars. Usually most nutritional labels have added sugars column. Perhaps that would be helpful? Of course if it’s a whole food like a fruit or vegetable — that’s not added sugar. Hope that helps the unknowns a bit for ya 😉

    Unfortunately I am only wanting to count refined sugar, which is not listed where I live. Is that listed where you live?

    Usually it’s listed here in the states as “added sugar.” But I guess it’s all added sugar - not just refined. So something like honey in the ingredients would be listed as “added.” 😉
