Another pretty cold morning run. It was only in the teens when we started running but the sun warmed things up much more than yesterday. The friends I was with pushed the pace a little on me, and I felt like I was dragging and breathing hard the whole time. But it got done!
Today marked a 75-day running streak for me. This week's travel is going to be the test of whether that continues or not.8 -

For those new/or with short memories I recently hired a coach to help me run faster - with the goal of a BQ in 2021. It is probably an unrealistic goal, but I am not getting any younger, so going for it. Several people asked to be updated on what the coach has in for me so I post each week what the coach's plan was, and what I actually did.
I did so bad this week I almost did not update, but I need to get myself back on track somehow and hiding my head in the sand will not do it. So here we go:
DAY :::: PLAN :::: ACTUAL
Monday :::: 8+Strides :::: 8 + Strides
Tuesday :::: Rest Day ::::: 1 hour cross training
Wednesday :::: 4 easy + 6 @ HMP :::: 0 - Wife broke down a couple of towns away - went to rescue
Thursday :::: 11 miles :::: 11 miles
Friday :::: Rest Day :::: Rest Day
Saturday ::::: 20 miles ::::: 20 miles
Sunday ::::: 5 miles ::::: 0 Miles - got sucked in a 2.5 hour meeting instead
Total Miles: Plan 55, Actual 40
Next week will be better!
You made the right right choice by rescuing wife. I think you adjusted as much as you could to the obstacles you faced.

If anyone remembers my first post I'm using Pacer app to track my steps and total distance so walking mostly for me and short runs (It's jogging because I can't run worth peanuts yet) Brisk walk in to work today and on my feet for work (cashier) so got a good 10k to start me off this month. Aiming for 200km min total.
(And its late and *kitten* cold out but I'm going out for a walk because I literally have nothing better to do so hopefully I'll get another few km and maybe stay in when it rains tomorrow😅)
Edit: ooh profanity filter cool 🤣forgot about that4 -

Oh, that was never in doubt despite her telling me to go run anyways. I probably could have sent someone else, but that is not how I roll.

Hi, everyone! I would love to join this challenge. I'm starting over (again) so I will set a goal of 50mi for March. I'm just finding this now so I need to report that I did zero today. I'm looking forward to logging in and recording everyday so I can stay accountable! I need to get ready for another Maniac or a Mudder 🤞9

Training plan today called for rest, but since I have not been consistent on my cross training goals I did an easy walk aerobics video for 15 minutes while dinner was cooking so I could work in some lateral movement. Other than that today was a lazy day. Hopefully tomorrow’s weather will be agreeable for my planned 3 mile run. I also really need more focus on my food this week. I’ve been maintaining the past few months but I’m feeling it’s time to focus on the last few pounds left to lose.3

Yay or nay?
Okay, this is a new one for me. "Recovery flip flops"? I do not understand this concept. I just wear my regular footwear, or when home, just socks.2 -
@PastorVincent I don't think you're week was so bad. At least you got your long runs in. I don't think missing what you did is going to affect you in the long run. But, then again, I'm not a coach and have no idea what I'm talking about. So, there's that.
Welcome @MzCongeniality70 !0 -

That sounds familiar. I think I've also heard/read that doctors say if you have to wear sandals wear something with support because flip flops are the worse thing you can wear.0 -
@quilteryoyo
thanks....I hope so too. I think I have purposely avoided it because I fear they will tell me to take a month off and ice and stretch, yada yada. I'm being a brat but deep down I know its probably what I need
@rheddmobile
I fully agree with your goals....It made me think that maybe I run more days of the week and just stick to shorter runs...I just love being outside. Spring running here is glorious. And some years, Spring lasts about 3 days.
Welcome @MzCongeniality702 -

Cloudy and mid 40s F today, so I took the opportunity to run in shorts and a short sleeved tech shirt after the first batch of rain finished and before the second batch arrived. Tried to go hard, but ended up a little short of how hard I wanted to go. In my defense, my right SI joint was unhappy again today.
Next year when you pop in here claiming your December 2020 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs
Run at least 4 5k races
Get a 5k PR
Average at least 138k per month, to meet my Run the Year pledge of 1,020 miles
Stretch goal: If I can average 169k per month, I can run 2020K in 2020
Run the Year Team: Pavement Pounders
2020 races:
4-25 Shine the Light 5k, Twinsburg, OH
5-23 Race for the Parks 5k, Hudson OH
6-20 Freedom Run 5k, Aurora, OH6 -
Sunday I did a 5889-meter patriotic race, in memory of underground anti-communist soldiers in Poland during 1944-1963. There were two distances: 1 loop for 1963 meters, or 3 loops for 5889, which is what I did. It's in the same park where we have parkrun, with a couple extra bits added to the route, so I knew about the crazy hills that awaited us. Our church meets nearby, so I went with running clothes under a dress and only had to make a quick change, left a bag with my husband and ran over to the park. My son came along to see the military demonstrations and hung out on the playground while I was running. It was fun. He was looking for me and cheering when I went past the playground, and I tossed him my gloves, and later a buff as I went by cause I was too warm... but then on the third loop I didn't see him. Here he had moved over to the finish line to take my picture Which is good, because the official photographers didn't, LOL. I can't compare my time to much but this same course, but I was a minute faster than when I ran this same race 2 years ago, and my 5k time was also decent compared to parkrun. I felt great, and they had good military-style "hunter's stew" for us afterwards. My only complaint is that the medal is shaped like a piece of a puzzle and I have no idea what other races it's supposed to fit with >)
Today I decided to put my long run earlier in the week, before any swimming. So 26k this morning in the rain, easy pace, didn't feel awesome or anything but was fine. Weird, at about 23k I was going uphill and suddenly felt like breathing and everything got easier. I've had that happen earlier in runs, today included, but really thought I was past my limit on distance today. But I'll take it!
March goal 100 miles (stretch goal 200 km)
Upcoming races:
Mar. 7 - CityTrail 5k (#6 of 6)
Mar. 27 - "Green Shoelaces" HM (Puławy, Poland)16 -
@polskagirl01 Very, very nice...what a tribute!!! Sweet picture, you are beautiful!0

3/2 2.28 miles C25K Wk5Day1
I did not want to run this morning but did it anyway and so glad I did. I am in a funk and reading too much about the virus in the internet...which causes me to worry about my parents in Oregon and California. The run helped me clear my mind a but. Also, up to running 6 minutes at a time!
1. Run the month.
2. Loose 20 pounds in 2020.
March 14-CloudForestSchool 5K
June 13-Helvetia 10K

So, I guess something is working...
For the past couple of months, I have been running the hilly harder route at home for my coach's training plan. Mostly because of the showers at the gym at work are typically crowded.
Well today I have a stupid 9 am to 5 pm meeting. Normally I work 6 am to 2 or 3 pm, and run after work. So with this stupid...err... highly valuable meeting meaning I would be working when I should be running, I decided to run before work. That meant running a route I have not run in several months, and
Seems I have gotten a little faster after all16 -
It's only the 2nd and already there are more posts here than I can keep up with!
My goal for the month is a very conservative 100km but mostly to finish my HM on the 22nd, which I'm (as usual) feeling overwhelmingly unprepared for although I am no less prepared than for my other 2. Silly brain.
