Margaret - No chance of visiting my friend as she is currently in York, where Viv lives in the north of England. She has a sister in the Midlands, but she had a major back operation last week, so is pretty much locked in. I'm going to ring her in about 30 mins.
I'm persuading myself now and again that I don't feel well. Then I forget about it and feel absolutely fine. I did all my exercises this morning and will try some rowing this afternoon. I took my temperature and it was normal. I'm not going out anyway, so it's not a problem for anyone else apart from DH and he will get what I get.
Lamb and flageolets stew tonight with cabbage.
Stewed plums with homemade yogurt.
Chocolate.

Working on next assignment for uni ... all about Smart Cities. I'm doing this with a group and in many ways I'd find it easier to do on my own, but it is what it is.
My cycling organisation is trying to decide what to do about our rides. Most of our rides have low enough rider numbers that it is easy to practice social distancing while riding. But they are long, so riders often need to stop to get supplies along the way. And I've just found out that some councils are closing some of their public toilets which makes it a bit more challenging. We'll have a Zoom meeting about that tomorrow.
And then I have to decide what I want to do about our Easter cycling events.
Fortunately, I'm off Friday because there was supposed to be an event this weekend, but we didn't have enough interest to run it. That is just fine ... means I can stay home from work and work on my assignment.
Plus I'm thinking I might start trying to take 1 day each week off work ... limit my people time. And it's not like I need to bank time to travel anywhere.

Good morning Ladies!
I am 39 hours into an extended fast that I will be breaking at 2:00 today. They are not getting easier...just sayin' Corned beef and cabbage was saved for me along with homemade soda bread! I'll do my Irish jigging today! On the upside ... I've lost 5.5 pounds so far this month!
Late last night we decided we will be bringing our older, disabled son home today to shelter with us. He has been living in a small facility with 2 other men who are also physically disabled. We have been having significant staffing issues as medicaid funded pay for care aides is substandard ... and you get what you pay for. Sadly, most of his aides are unable to care for themselves let alone my son and his facility. I spent all day Monday asking why he hadn't been showered in a week and the aides had told him that Covid-19 wasn't an airborne illness?? They weren't even washing his hands?? Self-distancing is just not going to happen there. He has heart, lung and kidney issues. I'm praying I have not waited too long.
His being home with me will be a huge adjustment for all of us as he's not lived at home for over 10 years. Thankful my younger son is also back home during this time as he will need to be my second set of arms. DH is unable to help me with his back and now a twisted knee. We will be getting my son and his equipment within the next few hours.
DH is working remotely today. I have officially been laid-off ... but the board last night approved my raise for our new fiscal year that begins in June ... so when I go back I'll get a little bit more. I know many who are beginning to struggle financially.
Margaret ... I spent the last two days trying to do my best to clean our church facilities (which had services and activities on Sunday) to the best of my limited abilities. I wore a mask, gloves, hat to cover hair and I peeled off every piece of clothing I was wearing at the washing machine the minute I walked through the door. We locked the doors at the church and placed signs no one was to enter. Evidently, some program leaders who have keys thought it didn't mean them and one gentleman gathered a group of boys inside the church gym last night while the church board was having a meeting via Zoom instead of the church. My efforts were wasted. Until people get the illness or know someone who does, they will continue to disregard recommendations.
Hands ... my hands are cracked every year about this time as I am religious about washing. Today, my hand creams burn.
Food ... I was prepared for my husband and I (and I only eat one meal a day with intermittent fasting). Now I have two more adult male mouths to feed (both sons). Younger son is a stress eater and he's going to need to stop his late night foraging. I do not want to go out into the grocery stores right now. My produce box has been delayed. Rats.
SuziQ and Margaret ... your advice is so very important! Thank you!
Baby Pictures ... please don't put them in spoilers!! When I start scrolling ... seeing a large photo of a beautiful child reminds me of everything that is good and right in this world! My own face instantly lights up as well!

The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want the MOST for what they want at the MOMENT.
This applies to the urge to run to the store for some impulse purchase. Do I really need potatoes to go with the turkey I cooked yesterday?8 -
Sending loving and strengthening thoughts your way Beth. You are a wonderful mum. I feel so angry when I read of the way your son's place is run. Grrrrrr!

HeatherImmune people could do a LOT of good! - they would still have to be very careful not to transmit the live virus via fomites, though.
LisaIs your daughter under the impression that food will be in short supply? That should be relatively easy to straighten out… https://www.forbes.com/sites/rachelsandler/2020/03/16/no-grocery-stores-arent-shutting-down-and-they-wont-run-out-of-food-either/#6d029b594855
LOL! a permanent tattoo saying This Too Shall Pass - that's so funny!!!
C-19US/Canada border just closed. Has that ever happened?

I stayed up waaaaay too late last night reading Absent in the Spring by Mary Westmacott aka Agatha Christie. Thank you so much to the person that recommended it. Maybe Machka? There are 2 more novels in the book I ordered: Giant's Bread & The Rose and the Yew Tree.
Lilly is staying home with Daddy today.
Oldest grandson is doing his online school with his mom today.
So here I am with a whole day ahead of me! It actually feels a bit decadent.

Morning ladies~
well we are trucking along here.. I have my granddaughter for the forseable future as my son works at a grocery store and I am carting him back and forth because of his no car situation .. and my daughter works at the vets office , they are not closing... somehow this has worked out that I am off to watch Taliah and the dentist where I used to work is open for emergencies only, so they split up into 2 teams ,Dr P his assistant and one hygenist, and then the next week, Dr Mike ,Zina and Jeanette.. they have hired 2 or 3 new office workers and I am sure they are rotating them also..5 -
Karen - I was able to text with her later this morning, introduce her to the Walmart app, and she was able to order the formula she needs for the baby. She'll pick it up later this afternoon. That set her world back to rights. She just needed something to go right, I think.
My son is on a plane tomorrow from Oregon to LA to Springfield, AR, just an hour up the road from us. Look forward to seeing him in a few weeks, as we're going to give it that much time after his flight, but worried about whether he'll be able to get all the flights he needs. Can't change it, just have to let that happen. He's a grown man, and can handle it.
Back to work, checking to see if I can find my crystal ball, because that's what they're going to be asking me, I'm thinking--what does the future hold. I think we'd all like to know that.
Later y'all,
Lisa in AR8 -
Beth- They been saying if you see abuse signs like not being washed a week to report it. They can’t become lax at this time or any they will have charges pressed against them now or after this is over. Needs to be reported for the others there so the government agencies can step in move ones needing moved to get them care even force management to hire new staff if need be. What their doing will lead to deaths reporting will save lives.

Lanette My partner just finished an audible book on the Spanish flu. I wonder if it was the one you are thinking of? It's by John M. Barry. The Great Influenza
Beth Will be thinking of you as you get your disabled son home. I know the adjustment will be a challenge. Glad your younger son is there to help with the physical demands.
Barbie Lots of meals from that nice turkey!

Jack and I are hanging out at home, he has heart problems and COPD, so I've restricted his leaving home lol. My daughter is still going to the office daily and working 60 hours and week until tax season is over. She has found a cute little three bedroom house to rent with a great backyard for her dogs. It's not available until April 3 so we'll see what shakes out by then. She can't return to CO to move her household items until after tax time anyway. It's about three miles from our house, perfect .
I've lost a few pounds the last couple of weeks, daily exercise is still essential. We have two great-grandbabies arriving in about two weeks. I'm trying not to worry about tiny ones in a hospital given the current medical situation.
Love you my friends

DH just went to Aldi's. Fortunately he went at an off time. He got mad at me because he is right I was running around getting supplies more than I should have been. I did try to take precautions that I know he is not doing like wipes at doors. In and out as quick as I can. I did get take out from a One person show. This too will stop. DH still is behind in how serious this crisis is. He is still in the how this is effecting him. He will soon come to the place I am. In the meantime I just need to be patient and do what I can do to protect him from himself.
Beth prayers I know you are making a good decision. I am glad we have a safe place to take our son when they are ready to release him.
I did call hospital and told them I am ready to help son at home if he is up for it. I did request a two months supply of his meds. I know it goes against protochol but times are different now. I will leave it to the doctor to decide what is best but if I am ready to do my part to take some pressure off the medical system.
Allie there are all kinds of things on line that are free for your granddaughter. Museum visits, exercise, yoga. These are great since getting out and many of the schools are scrabling for their educators to get things up and running for students. Having her write and read are always wonderful activites.

DH is more paranoid about CoVid than me! Lol. Usually I’m the one. Think it’s because of the ghost park we are in.
Walking a lot, reading, not a whole lot more. Trying to convince DH to order stuff for pickup at Walmart just to go for a ride.
