Hi Gals,
Janetr - I am so sorry! That is very sad.
Kate – I think if someone was dying I’d figure away to protect the family from each other and still get in to see her and say our good byes.
After a ton of begging, pleading I got my mom to agree to ordering groceries online, and picking them up in the parking lot. So I ordered them and then tried to reserve a pick up time. 4 weeks from today was the first opening. (really is that helpful?) GRRR - so I did her shopping, and was glad to do it. I also got to see her, at appropriate social distancing with a mask on, I feel like I could really judge her health better by seeing her than I can just via a phone call. She only likes one store chain, and I ended up going to 3 between my house and hers to get almost everything on her list, I could not find dish soap, toilet paper, facial tissues or zucchini…but 2 full pages of other things. She really appreciated it, as my darling (sarcastic) went shopping last week and told her no he would not pick up her things…. She fixes him 3 meals a day, lets him live there rent free… granted he is dying of cancer, but healthy enough to go marketing for beer and snacks. ***hole.
Oh I almost forgot to mention – remember the book club lady who whined about not getting a pedicure? Well, she has put in a large embroidery order, so has another member, one hired me to do yard work for her, and I got gift cards in the mail with no id on who they are from, one I am pretty sure I know whose handwriting is on the envelope, and the other I think I know too. I am so grateful. I find it hard to believe…. There are both the baddies (Janetr’s burglar), and the goodies!

Just went thru things we had from my father and I threw out quite a bit. The kids aren’t going to be interested in letters to me from the woman who took care of him. There were pictures of people who I know were friends of my father’s but I have no idea who they are. So those pictures went out. If I don’t have a clue who they are, the kids certainly wouldn’t. Found things that I’m pretty sure we don’t need, like old bills. Why we had them, I have no idea
Called to see about my appt for Prolia. They aren’t giving it until May which is fine because that’s when I’m due. Need to find out to be sure if it’s covered under Part D or B. My understanding is that since it’s administered at the hospital, it’s covered under part B. I just want to confirm this.
I went for my walk after dinner, came home and my toe on my right foot started hurting. I didn’t trip, nothing. It isn’t swollen, but when I walk it hurts to bend it. Don’t know what’s up with that. Maybe it’s God’s way of saying “slow down”, that I really don’t need to clean as much as I am. I can hope….

Rebecca: I love your skittles analogy. It is brilliant and true.
SuziQ: That is likely the world’s most patient cat. Nice hat, though.
Amber: Try online chair yoga. If that can’t work for you, try something else. DH was going to a chair yoga class before our governor suspended all such classes for now. :flowerforyou: I love the chicken dance that you posted.
Machka: I’m glad that the new work arrangements are so positive for you. I am impressed with the “stay home save lives” poster.
Kim: It is clear that you are valued in your community. I am happy for you!
Since I can’t go to my regular yoga classes I’ve been riding a stationary bike at home. DH has one, too, and I hope he’ll get started riding his when I ride mine. I also go walking with the dog in our neighborhood. Sometimes DH goes, too. Today we spotted an Osprey nest with two birds working to make it cozy. They winter in Mexico and come here in summer to fish in the river & raise their chicks.

It's Good Friday and I'm taking this day to not do work and not do uni (yet anyway, although I may do some this evening).
Instead, I'm trying to get on top of some of the other stuff in my life like some cleaning, etc.

Pip the pic of you and Yogi before the fire. Bravissima on your personal best time biking to work!
Lisa the image of you singing to all the songs, sweaty and feeling virtuous.
Julie each person launches the Zoom application from their device (laptop or tablet or smart phone). They join the meeting by clicking a link I’ve emailed and texted them. We can either see only the person who is “speaking” (usually our teacher) or we can see a gallery of everyone who has joined. Tuesday night there were 7 of us. I just sent out 20 invitations so if everyone joins, the pictures are likely to be too tiny to really see. Still figuring it out
Michele Is Vince really going to start putting up the Christmas lights? SMH
Penny thanks for the cats explanation and for the official’s kindness in returning the cats to their home country.
Amber I’m laughing out loud and choking on my water. Hairbrush, guess who found, like a good neighbor… and so on. Thank you!
Rebecca oh that Athena Rose!
Kate so very sorry for your loss. Sounds like it was quite a shock.
Kylia thanks be for Aubrey's good news!
Viv Leah hiding in the grass.
SuziQ “…didn’t think of using it that way”
Flea that Mark Twain quote is a favorite. I worked in San Francsico for 20+ years and wore wool suits year ‘round, except for the first week in October when it got HOT.
Janetr angry and sad for your “situation”. Since the police won’t come, will they take report over the phone? You need a police report for your insurance claim.
Rita you are one resourceful woman!
Ginny you live alone, yes? Please definitely seriously consider a home security system.

Went out for my 5k at 8.15. Already really warm and beautiful. Not too many people, good distancing. Huge queue for the fish market! This was the beach at 8.40. I have never seen such a low tide.
You can see the tiny people by the water.
Now to stretch and do weights and I will have to catch up on the rest this afternoon.

Heather - Love the beach. I want that.
Barbara - Cool story about breast pumps to ventilators. Zoom sounds easy. Sometimes I'm technically challenged. Concerning career change - my current brick and mortar urgent care clinic has given everyone over the age of 60 the option of being off the schedule for awhile. I am working until the end of April and then will be off the schedule but still employed. I may need to help out during vacation season in July/August if COVID settles down for a few months. Last week I started doing Telehealth with a new company. So far it's interesting. I'm on a steep learning curve re: technology but I'm figuring it out.
Kim - Heartwarming that people with some means stepped up to support you. It touched my heart.
Lisa - Do you use a text extension app for grant writing? I just started using aText and I'm beginning to see amazing possibilities for templates, signatures, and frequently repeated disclaimers, permissions, etc that need to be documented. It's amazing. It's like inventing your own shorthand except it morphs into real words in front of your very eyes. For example, I made this one up just now: if I enter the word shrug, I get the option of replacing it with “¯\_(ツ)_/¯“ $5 well spent.

Morning, Happy Good Friday
It's a bit chilly so far, but it may warm up later. I managed to get the grass cut yesterday and DS started on digging out the brambles near the shed wall. He filled up some holes in the garden with the excess soil, and this morning Leah had a great time digging them out again the little devil! My friend has sent photo's of her lovely garden, I sent her one back of ours - not in the same league (Well she doesn't have a dog)
Not sure if it's because Leah has been spending more time in the garden, but her allergies have flared up, they seemed to be settling down a little, it must because of all the street walking, but now we've been taking her onto the field near the golf course she's been quite itchy. She is due another injection next week not sure if we have wasted our money there, but we'll have to see how she gets on.
Heather I really envy your deserted beaches, it must be lovely to walk/run by the sea every day. It is still my dream to "retire" to the seaside eventually. If I could afford it I'd be there like a shot, I'd have to take mum too of course!
Take care!
Love to all

Hello one and all.
Another early wake up this morning. 2:30 am! TG, I have the day off because I will be able to take a nice long nap.
Many things to be grateful for this morning.- I am grateful to have another healthy day on this planet we call earth.
- I am grateful to see my bank account received my payroll funds. I am so incredibly lucky to be working for a company that will continue to employ me for the foreseeable future.
- I am grateful for the quiet of the neighborhood and the slight breeze. When I am in my courtyard the breeze rustles the palm fronds and if I close my eyes I can imagine being on the beach.
- I am grateful I live in SFL where the weather is near perfect year round and there is seldom a time when I do not get to see the sun shine every day.
- I am grateful I am able bodied and can take care of myself and my home on my own.
- I am grateful for my online friends and the technology that allows us to keep in touch and support each other.
The day is very young and I discovered there is a store opening at 6 am this morning. Maybe, just maybe I will luck out and find some TP - LOL......one can always hope!
Take care friends.

If you'd like a little perspective on this stuff, this article is really interesting:

You can take the girl out of the Plains, but you can't take the Plains out of the girl.

It was taken at sunrise yesterday morning on his farm in Nebraska.
The sunrise is reflected in the water of his stock tank (water tank for farm animals):

Lisa AR: An interesting and comprehensive article which underlines the fact that these pandemics have always been with us.Unfortunately, memories are short, and a lot of people didn't take the risk seriously for the present threat, which has been in existence for several years, but ,very shortsightedly, was not prepared for because of financial factors.
Karen: stunning photograph.3 -
Janetr here where I live the police are doing the same thing the are so overwhelmed with violent crime and COVID that property crimes they ask you fill out a report online.
Again so sorry this happened to you.
Margaret4 -
Karen - seriously, that photograph is breathtaking.
Terri - Yes, exactly. In living memory, more than 60 million people have died from pandemics. And we just assumed it wouldn't happen to us. Gah...
Onward, upward - got pinto beans with a hambone in them starting on the stove, and looking forward to that smell, one of the ones that remind me of home and Mama.
Love y'all,
