Sharon- he grins y laughs so thinks it hurts less than his. Guess I’m bugs bunny or the coyote
Carol- Really you can’t bring your own bags now? The plastic bags their using is making me feel less safe (we should use paper or washable cloth ones only in my opinion) . Here they have plastic bags only y I forgot my cloth ones in my 1 trip out but saw others with them still. Hubby won’t take the cloth ones wish he would tho.

Our commissary bans the use of using your own bags. Mostly because we have baggers, and they don't want to touch our bags. Personally I don't see the problem of putting out items on the belt, then pushing the cart thru and putting the item back into the cart to take to our car. Then we could use our own bags then. My husband said the baggers would get cut out of their tip. My thoughts is its a win win for the store because no one is touching my items except the cashier. Why should I be burdened with stupid plastic bags, when I have my own. Especially if I am willing to bag them. Crazy.
They also have a limit of 75 in the store. They regulate that by giving each person a cart. Their attempt to mandate social distancing. If you are pushing a cart around the cart automatically distances you from other shoppers. Its silly if there is two of you. I had to push an empty card around like a crazy person.

Carol - yes, it will be interesting to see if I get any push-back bringing in my own basket. I've been shopping at these stores for years and know most of the cashiers by name so doubt anyone will call me on it.
Rebecca - interesting how the commissary limits the number of customers by doling out the carts. Seems like a good way to do it, actually. I agree - if you are bagging the items into your own bags, no one should complain! Understand about the tippers and not wanting to touch other people's bags, some of the Walmart cashiers have mentioned some pretty dirty ones come through - and that's just what they can see.
The Safeway this morning had "one-way" aisles yet everyone could congregate closely in the produce, deli and meat sections if they so desired. They shut down 2 of 4 self-checkouts because they were closer than 6' apart, yet folks with hand carts were ganging up to go thru them and so as not to impede other shoppers where the queues were long.
I give them credit for trying but it appears to be kind of pointless.
Got in a quick walk with neighbor D - No extra's joined. As long as we keep the times "spontaneous" we should be OK and if someone wants to join now and then we won't let it bother us.

Ours got rid of baggers. The baggers are now stockers. The cashier scans it goes to the bagging area the customer bags y goes. The cashier will bag for oldest only unless they have their own bags. This is what I saw at 1 store (I’ve only left home 1X in over a month),but hubby says that’s what he’s seeing at other stores too. But things change so fast now who knows. They put up sneeze guards who knows what the rules are now.

Hand washing clothing strikes me as meditative just like kneading bread.
My wonderful grocery store (the one with adequate supplies of nearly everything including toilet paper) has a sign as you come in that says "please leave your reusable bags in your car...we won't be using them". As much as I am a fanatic about reusing things and other environmentally friendly practices, I feel that it is a small concession to allowing checkers, baggers, and other customers to feel more safe. This is a very difficult time and I am privileged and fortunate enough already that I can concede on this particular practice. I have to shop alone since Jake is not allowed to leave the house since he is so high risk, so I can't deal with bagging along with everything else.
Jake is very tired today and he opted to not come out and work in the yard with me so I took the dogs out with me, left them inside the fence and pulled weeds along the outside of the fence while they watched. They like knowing where I am.

We've developed a routine of sitting on our south-facing 'catio' every morning. The weather has been delicious. The birds plentiful. Lots of neighbors are walking by and they often comment on seeing our cat, Mars sitting out with us.
Michele: Tell Vince I hope he gets well and comes home soon. Here's a picture of Mars I hope will make him smile.
All good here. Count me among the ones who is blessed to have experienced very little disruption due to the pandemic. We have plenty of everything, and I am eating alot of it. 🙄 Uh oh....
DH has been mellow this week, but dear brother has continued to stay at a nearby hotel. His anxiety is keeping him from sleeping. Says he will be back home tomorrow, and I do look forward to having his company again. The break in routine might set off DH's dementia rants, but who ever knows with this horrible condition. I choose to stay in the NOW which is simple, sweet and abundantly blessed. My other binge has been a couple hours a night of "This is Us". Loving it!!!!!
Here's to staying well. We can do this.

Janet I’m so sorry you haven’t gotten to see Jaxx yet. I feel guilty that I am still getting to see our grand baby! Jaxx is such a cutie!! I know your arms must ache to hold him! So sorry for your break in! Those are so distressing. I have always felt so violated when I know someone has gone through my things and taken the stuff they wanted. Apparently, they don’t realize what goes into saving up to purchase things only to have someone else take it away!
I went to pick up medication and some fresh fruit and veggies and scored some toilet paper! First purchase of toilet paper since before the pandemic was first talked about…I was SO excited!! LOL Thanks for the paper towel/newspaper suggestion Janetbanana! I was ready to use anything…
Penny Yesterday was such a warm spring day here! I had the baby out in a short-sleeved onesie!! So hard to believe it is still winter where you are!! (I know it’s the North Pole and all, but you just forget sometimes how different the weather is in different parts of the world!)
Lisa Levi is so adorable!! I love how all the babies are so precious!! They melt my heart!
Kelly Concerned for your safety with the different children coming through! I know you want to help these families, but I hope you are not doing it at your own expense! I also hope you will consider shutting down so you are okay to start back with your regular group as soon as their parents are able to go back to work!
I am shocked people aren’t taking the warnings more seriously. I believe there may have been about 8 of us with masks at the store yesterday. I came home horrified and talked to my sister and my daughter who told me it was the same in PA and FL! I had thought it was just the crazy people here who weren’t award of that many cases, but PA and FL have so many more! And still not listening to direction?? I don’t know what makes people think this isn’t a real thing. Watching young, healthy people hooked up to ventilators…it’s so scary to me! For those of us with health issues, it seems ridiculously dangerous!
I know I will feel better when we have an idea as to when we can see family again. I live each year for the trips to see the children and grandchildren. I can’t wait to hug my children again. With all that has happened, it feels like years since I’ve seen them. (It was only November!) I usually see them every 6 months, but I think it’s the uncertainty of how much longer before we can get together that is messing with me!
Kate So sorry for you friend as he struggles with his loss without the support of his loved ones. This seems to be a major issue around the world for everyone who is suffering loss. It’s hard enough to go through these things with loved ones supporting you, I can’t imagine how people get through it alone!
Rita Oh my. A picture is worth a thousand words. I know you had said you were having to wash by hand but seeing the sheet in the bucket. I wasn’t raised for this!! LOL! I like that your camper is called the Cuckoo’s House! That would have been good quarters for us to live.
Heather Your foods are making me want to come visit!! Seems I’ve lost some of my creativeness in the kitchen. I just make something to eat without a lot of thought as to taste. It’s more just feeding us to get by instead of making the delicacies you are making! Tonight, it’s supposed to be chilly. I hope to make a yummy soup – hopefully I will get the spices right to make it feel more exotic.
Amber So sorry you fell and got hurt!! So rough – especially with a little one to chase after! Sounds like you need chair exercises or Katla’s chair yoga idea!
Allie I need to find a group for happy hour! Maybe I’ll try to get my sister in FL to Facetime with me and have a glass of wine together! DH can’t drink, so I must have my wine alone ☹
SuzyQ Hahaha! Love the cat in the crafty hat joke!
Ginny Sorry the storms have messed with your sleep. It’s been stormy and windy here, also. We live in “gun country” so I don’t have a problem with it (and DH is from KS and has always had them). I would want a security system if I didn’t have them. Any kind of deterrent is nice! I’ve had several break-ins over the years. Fortunately, only two when I was home, but they were enough to make me very happy to have protection – especially now that I am older.
Barbara Love the breast pump solution! It’s great there are so many bright minds working on things!
Hope Everyone is Healthy and Doing Well!! Luci in WNC

In France the official message at present is that school is suspended until May 5. A collegue had a meeting with one school director and there is no way they are going back to school on May 5. In China i think none have gone back to school and the virus is said to be more contained there.
School is continuing here in Australia. It's online for those who can have their kids at home, and in person for essential workers.
Right now it's Easter holidays and the kids don't go back till toward the end of April, so that's OK anyway, but when the next term starts, it'll go back to online/essential.

True!
But our cost of living is higher ...

But we don't need to worry about it if we comply.

Hi everyone. Hope all is going well with you. I can't wait for this to be over!!! Today was a really bad day. I didn't do any of my regular stuff. No logging, walking, visiting with neighbors. The part of WV I am in only has 2 cases! You read that right. Hardy county has 2 confirmed cases. The next county S of us has NONE. We are all wearing masks and staying indoors. I just don't want a repeat of today, EVER. Have not seen or heard from grands since last Thurs.
Peace is doing me good.
Take care & HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!!!
