Stuff like that thrills me too, and we could use a couple owls. We have moles everywhere... They are good for the soil, though.
Still thinking about you all in the fire/smoke zone.
Slept half the weekend away, sent a message into the VA Team that I work with to see if the doc can call me. Still exhausted. Two weeks ago, I was on the elliptical for 70-75 minutes at a time. Now I break a sweat walking down the hallway. It's annoying.
Got Corey off to work, and I'm going back to bed. Wiped out.
Later, y'all,

Beth when I had knee issues a few years ago the PT said part of the problem was my shoes and make sure I have strong arch support. He also showed me exercises to strengthen muscles around my knee. Reminds me with all this walking I am doing now I should start doing these exercises again and drink more water.4

Beth: I also have issues with one knee. The physio gave me strengthening exercises. I need to be more regular in doing them.

Just ordered I finally did it! I ask myself why not?
It won't be here for 6 weeks, but how nice to have every
fall and winter. I have a long neck so turtlenecks are so
comfy for outdoors in the winter. I needed something to
lift my spirits and reclaim my warrioress and now I am
excited imagining how this handmade top by two young
ladies in the Colorado mountains will youthify me. I think
it will be much more convenient and attractive than my neck
choker/mask. They are making mine a couple of inches longer
to meet the top of my favorite high waist mom jeans. Perfect for
fall with a jacket or for layering in the winter. I have always preferred
a layered style as opposed to one heavy coat.

Lisa... I hope the VA calls you soon. Awful to feel so fatigued and not normal for you.
Woke up still smokey here and so not going to take Ella out walking. I'm still smiling and feeling grateful that my sister's cancer is not advancing. Thank you gals, appreciate being able to share the good news here.

Sue & Lisa: This may be TMI on the subject of Gluten Free products. On the other hand, it might be useful. We have a rotation of frequently eaten meals, too, and there have been some necessary changes due to DH being on the FODMAP Diet. He is now gluten free, and it is a big help for him. There are gluten free breads and rolls available at the grocery store for him. I still eat wheat-based bread. Pork is off of his list, but he occasionally has cured bacon anyway and it has not caused a problem so far. We have replaced pork sausage with beef or chicken sausage. Hebrew national hotdogs are on the list of things we both enjoy now and then. We eat more fish than before and both of us like it. We are big sourdough fans and have our original wheat-based sourdough starter. We also created a new one, using some of the original starter to get it started. Our new sourdough is fed with brown rice four rather than wheat. It is more fragile due to the lack of gluten. It makes good pancakes but I wouldn’t try to make waffles or sourdough bread with it. There are beer products on the grocery store shelves that are advertised as gluten free, but DH could not drink them without a major tummy upset when he tried. We keep some beer on hand to share with a good friend when he stops by. :flowerforyou:
Heather: We don’t have a rule about total size of social groups, but we do have one about social distancing-we need to stay 5 feet apart from others. Stores here have taped lines on their floors leading up to the cashiers. Grocery store aisles have turned into one-way streets. If you’re there during senior hours, there are many less worries about social distancing due to fewer people shopping. It gives those of us who qualify as seniors first chance at the best foods we enjoy. This may be the silver lining. Curbside pick-up is available at stores near us. You call in your order in advance and they bring it out to your car.
Faye: We’re also engulfed in smoky air and we’re staying inside except to shop and let the dog out to do his business. :grumble:
Betsy in WA: It is so good to hear that your sister’s cancer is not advancing. That is cause to celebrate.
Remember Smaug in the Harry Potter stories? He is here and is unwelcome. :grumble:

I thought this was an interesting article:

Allie: The only horrible thing about your situation is the way your SIL tries to manipulate you into doing what she should be doing for her mother. She will do and say anything to get her own way.
Please go to the cottage and enjoy it with a clear conscience.1 -

Faye: That polo neck top looks like a good compromise. Some people here are wearing ski snoods. Michael used one at the very beginning before I had made masks.
Karla: many Supermarkets here also have one way systems and floor markings bit inside and for queuing outside.

Not sure why, but today I felt so “yuk” that I really didn’t exercise. Maybe my body is just telling me to take some time off from exercise. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Lower Body Pilates DVD but, honestly, I’m not sure I’ll have time to exercise what with working then bowling. But I do know that I’ll get in my steps. I usually do when I’m working, going to get the carts, etc.
Heather – I put a tray on the lower shelf and poured water into it. The reason I didn’t use the spray was for one thing this was constant moisture and for another I was afraid that I’d spray the light and possibly damage it. Ohhh…those serving dishes look so pretty. Sure wish they were on our Freecycle. Yes, they look more like dutch ovens.
Debby – I’m like you. When this “stay at home” stuff first started, you should have seen me cleaning things out! But I got rid of a lot of things. Jess was here, she keeps a lot of things or rather she wants me to keep a lot of things for her. Anyway, I threw out pictures of people I had no clue who they were and she’d get upset at that. Vince and I tried to tell her that if we don’t know who those people are, she certainly won’t know. But she didn’t want me to throw out anything.
Barbie – oh, I did sample the bread…and sample… and sample. The only problem I can see is that I’m the only one who will eat it.
Did anyone order the starter from King Arthur? If so, how much did your starter make? Mine only made that one loaf (those 2 should have been one), and I didn’t have any left over. Maybe I should have let it double more? But I was so very excited that it doubled and passed the float test that I don’t think I could have waited much more…at least not now. Maybe I can later
Tracey – happy birthday!
What did I say would happen? Vince just told me “well, I put all the coins into the closet”. Watch that they aren’t taken care of. Out of sight, out of mind will come into play. That IS unless I do something (like put them out)
Betsy – what great news for your sister!
Dropped off some of the banana chocolate chip muffins for the birthday of the hubby of the gal whose house we played mahjonngg at then went to see a friend who just got a kitten for her birthday tomorrow. Honestly, I really don’t know why she got a feral cat. But whatever, not my cat. I don’t think I would have gotten a feral cat. Oh well. Then stopped at Michaels and they had this latch hook that I’ll make for a Christmas gift for Ken. We’ll frame it, to me it’s too small to be a rug. Besides, with his cane I don’t think a rug would be a good idea anyway. I should have worked on it outside, it was so nice out today.
Then stopped at the dollar store and got more towels to make the toppers for. Honestly, I’m running out of things to do. I will probably work on a jigsaw puzzle next. I know I’ve seen where people frame the puzzle after it’s done and I think this would look cool since it’s a picture of all cats.
Anne in De – have a wonderful time.
KJ – why don’t we share? I’ll send you some bread and you send me some soup. Wish we had that teleporter. That would be so wonderful, I’d use it all the time.
Ginny – was that one of the mods who cautioned about the posts? Personally, I can’t even think of something related to religion or politics lately. Lisa – do they do anything about the other group?
Carol GA – can you keep a list of the things your brother purchases and just add things that he may need, even if he doesn’t need it right then? Do you add some things for yourself?
Michele NC
Michele- all 7 of our cats were formerly feral- you would never know it by looking at any of them right now- Even the one that was not a kitten has adjusted very well- the kittens were tame within just a day or two.
Here are four that were sleeping in bed with me:
