"Get to do"s and "chose well"sChose well: BP, finished Worship and Music annual report, found faucet, cleared out and cleaned under sink and dishwasher, Shadow to power line (Tumble didn’t want to come?!?).
Bonus: 1 load laundry, veg prep, board meeting prep, ordered 3 hole drilled paper, compressed air, sediment filters and comfy yoga toe $andal$.
Get to do: take BP, dogs to powerline, call S, minutes, grant info followup to Bill and ask for Ronda’s email address, research effective conflict resolution, ask Howard and Hill about roster numbering system, Post Office, Library, Freddie’s, Grocery Outlet, index mutual aid files, watch STAS Day 20, submit grant pics and receipts, make experimental almond paste, cancel VSP, update itunes & AAA payment info, declutter sideboard, practice new dances (Pure Movies to Wine, Beer, Whiskey, Sleeping with the Devil, I ain’t never gonna love nobody but Cornell Crawford (Alley cat), A Little Less Broken, One Margarita, I’m so used to being broke, All Night, Nothing but You, Blame it on my beating heart, Homesick); finish mulching flowerbed; broadcast cover crop seed in veg garden areas, invest another 10 minutes in prepping living trust, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, find and configure a screen time popup, figure out where to plant naked lady bulbs, and soon as it warms up above 50 and dries out below 60% humidity I’ll tape and spray paint those rusted areas of Aunt Elsie’s stove. Reconcile Joe’s EOB’s Thrivent shows only 2263.48 so far, next BGBS ask Terry about GB’s FD firetruck tax levy – contacts, media, advocate???, Wednesday: call Wild Rivers (541 247 3514) for dog wash/nail trim appointments, Reward: inventory seeds, plan next year’s garden, wishlist replenishments,
Happier January: 14: Take a different route and see what you notice: plan to come back from recycling on Carpenterville Rd
Counting towards sew goal even though not really “sewing”: bound an orange in ribbon, spiked it with cloves and hung it in the closet near the hamper. What a great scent! Thanks again Penny for the inspiration.
Pip Kirby looks so happy! He knows what a lucky guy he is.
Rita your photographer’s eye is wonderful.
Julie Lost? :noway: You have to go through that agony again??? Good for you for persisting with your Dr and exercising to feel better. Do you have confidence in this Dr or option for a second opinion/alternative? Sorry to hear of the conflict with colleagues. I need to research something to calm tempers, to offset the testosterone poisoning. Looking for effective conflict resolution, know it will start with the hardest part, making myself listen without judging or jumping in with a solution. Safe travels to the DDS.
Kim Love your snark-avoiding email approach. Will incorporate it in the biweekly nag emails I’m thinking about instituting…
Heather like your zoom with friends, some of our zoomtogethers kind of fall flat, for the same reason. No one’s going anywhere, doing anything new. One of the gals is researching zoom games to play. Fingers Xd.
Rebecca glad you are safe. Joe had to move two fallen trees yesterday to get out of our lane. Forest litter is really piling up but with 7 dry days forecast we won’t be firing up the burn barrel any time soon.
Kylia sounds like your SIL’s “work” habits haven’t improved. Miaou.
Machka “… but we can’t predict what will happen tomorrow.” Truth.
Dee in OH 8 mile hike with running compainions? Bumble is a lucky dog! Agree about training the right end of the leash. Alas my training had not been 100% effective, While I (and Tumble) have improved, she still lunges and barks at other dogs, and incites Shadow to follow suit. Shadow walks nicely on a gentle leader when we leave Tumble at home, but spooks when anything with wheels moves nearby. We never leave the dogs alone to bark incessantly, but they DO bark, at deer, bear, squirrels, occasionally the wind… and the neighbor who shoots his guns off in the middle of the night. the pic of you and Bumble.
Allie (((hugs))) praying the list is short and you get new heart very soon.
Tina like you my stepdad was a country kid, with the worst hay fever from about age 10. Can’t eat anything grass related (corn, sugar, wheat). I was never troubled with poison oak until puberty, then wow severe allergic overreaction. It’s the only thing on which I believe Roundup should be used… from a loooong applicator. “…Something tasty in another city, preferably another country, that I don't have to cook and someone else cleans up.” Oh yeah.
Cathy in Arlington your grands’ Christmas pics, including the window hangings
Tracey sorry your “trusty converter” is still feeling unwell. Any chance to get him to phone visit a doctor? With a cattle prod??? Good luck with your physio.
SuziQ I wish I did not feel that way too, but eavesdropping on conversations at the grocery store and elsewhere fills me with dread. Adding my prayers to yours.
Lisa your lottery comments made me laugh, especially how you got Corey off to work.
Happy Anniversary Barbie and Jake! Between the tacos and the spicy crispy chicken sandwiches, I’d be lost if there were a Jack in the Box here
Meal: Mama’s sauerbraten, Aunt Eleanor’s German hot potato salad, Table Rock’s Copperhead Red Ale, iceberg wedge with Roquefort dressing, walnut brownies with sour cream fudge or caramel frosting. The last 2 I could make myself, the first three are gone from this plane.
Lighter, lovelies!

Hi everyone. I am happy to announce I got my vaccination yesterday and had no problems! My arm isn't even sore. it was like an assembly line, very organized. They had support people filling up syringes and bringing them in handfuls to the injection stations.
Riley, the remaining cat, doesn't seem to notice that his litter mate is gone, which I find kind of odd. He's not nearly the snuggler Rex was and I miss that.
It is cold and rainy here with a high wind warning and supposedly we are getting a blizzard tomorrow.
I don't know if I told you that I started Noom. I like the articles and the personalized support, not so much the groups. The logging is different, they just categorize food into red, yellow, and green groups and provide calories. So it's simpler, but doesn't give you much other information. The simplicity is nice in a way and I find I eat way too many "red" category foods, but i like to track my carbs and sodium here. Plus, there's you guys!
oK just taking a break and now it's time to try to accomplish something. I like working from home, but get way too distracted with all the things I could be doing!
Take care and stay well, Meg from Omaha6 -

@auntiebk Barbara, thanks for your sympathy! I think the doctor is ok. it took forever to get an appointment with a haematologist. in general it's at least 3 months if non-urgent non-emergency, my case, then covid and conflicts of scheduling after pushed it forward then the past doctor left the service so sent me to this guy. this is one of the best hospitals in haematology and honestly I find him WAY better than the 2 others I consulted at other hospitals in 2016 and 2008, partly because those, particularly in 2016 should have ask for (I believe) a bone marrow aspiration, and they didn't communicate the results to me!!! they were very "it's nothing". this guy is quite serious, has called me 2x, answers mails. it's not his fault that the people managing the aspiration were not knowledgeable. I think there was a bug that day as I got there for opening and they were an hour late. maybe the usual person/technician was a close contact for person with COVID and they had to hustle to find someone to replace, or something like that. or musical chairs if someone else were out. That's very possible. I've seen, communication glitches in what are to be very good hospital service. Here, what's good it the health care coverage. Communication is not absolutely topnotch by any means. Just a few years ago and for decades, many doctors were haughty, would get irate if you questioned them a bit, but that seems to have changed to a fair degree in past 10 years or so. I'm not against a "young" specialist. (probably from early 30s to early 40s). That means they finished their studies relatively recently, and are probably more up to date on some of the latest things, possibly less set in their ways, possibly less tired...
ZOOM CALLS FALLING FLAT- yes that can happen... I try to stretch them out a bit if that happens, so we have something more to say...
FAMILY RECIPES: good idea! I'm switching out my past listed dessert for grandma A"s dark chocolate cake with meringue and bitter chocolate frosting. the meringue is hard to make, but it's unusual and yummy if it works. (GF version for cake). I need to buy egg beaters after I get an I.P.

on hold for 1h+ with bank. Last time they answered after 1h, and said they'd call me right back on cell for security reasons, but didn't! expecting it, I've been tidying this time, but my cordless phone battery may die...0

unclutteringFlylady: 15 min, bathroom + 1 other room this week. Bathroom done relatively quickly, shelves, etc. So went to the "back closet" just next to it to the: shelves from hell. So cluttered! stuff I may need to keep, but don't use much. There are particularly 2 high, very messy shelves. Cleaned 1/3 of one of them today! moved some old work papers and personal papers to more compact files. Yay! 1 sixth done!
exercise so far today.30 min walking around neighborhood, not fast, to cemetery and around and back
riding scooter (like motorcycle) about 45 min round trip
15 min more walking, for errands, etc.; outside of home.
30 min light cleaning
15 min food prep0 -
Hello!
I really need to get some more work done, but thought I'd drop in. Had Stihl online Zoom training this morning, so was at home. I finally figured out how to turn on camera at end! That was fine as I was doing things while watching/listening. Repair man to be here this afternoon, so no workplace for me today. Staying home. Will be working on registrations and more training. Got papers shredded and others filed. Paid bills. Made deposits. Laundry going. Meat thawing for dinner. Bison burgers tonight. Oh, and the SUN is SHINING! Great DAY!
Healing thoughts for all with quick results!

We are still impatiently waiting for news of our vaccinations. Grrrr!
Did some writing today about my fraught relationship with my mum when I was a teenager. I knew it was bad then, but, looking back I can see how much damage she was doing. I'm sure she didn't mean to, but she was very unhappy/selfish.
I learnt to love my mum when she was an old lady, which I am glad about.
Had our Waitrose delivery and an easy dinner.

Exercise+15-20 minutes on the recumbent, with at least 15 min doing upperbody, mostly dumbbells1

Microwave fixed. Washing machine.....well....looks like I am getting new washer and dryer. Bearings going out on washer. It is 17 yo. To fix would be around $700. Other parts are no longer available. Darn it! I love my Neptunes.
Now to work because "D" has been there since 630 this morning grumbling loudly! We don't open until 9. Maybe she shouldn't go in so early!
Trying to adjust attitude before I get there.
Happy dance that microwave is fixed though!

Had routine blood work done today. Routine dentist tomorrow. My DH and I are signe up on the NM website for our CoVid shots. I got a confirmation number to fill out my profile but DH didn’t. Must be because of my pre-existing conditions. DH is 67, I’m 64 until March. Waiting for that to complete.
I also applied for a bank loan at a much lower interest rate to get rid of a predatory loan we got to cover an emergency. Two weeks ago. Slow going but loan officer has called for more info two days in a row now, so moving along. Part of my financial re-work for 2021.
Still very sleepy/tired from colitis meds, but healing so going to continue.

Katla -- It sounds like vaccinations are being given at the state fairgrounds to anyone who wants to show up. I am double checking if this is indeed correct. I know that would be a long drive for you, but perhaps something like that will be started soon where you are.
Our local video store owner (yes, we still have a locally owned video rental store) and his young-ish daughter posted pictures on facebook in front of the "I got my vaccination!" sign at the fairgrounds.
Things are moving, so that is encouraging.
Update -- my husband went down to get one, but just before he arrived, they switched to giving it out only to health care workers. So close.
Take care.

Bananas - If you do decide to buy the Instant Pot, then I recommend the Jeffrey Eisner book, Step By Step Guide To The Instant Pot. I don't have it myself, but it would have saved me several weeks of intensive research into methods and recipes.

Evening ladies
Just back from a CT scan with contrast, that was fun,had to drink a quart of stuff before.. people in and out all day for the evaluation process..
Im just watching Hometown and relaxing.6 -
We have a bobcat in our backyard. DD spotted it moving about and then we were able to see him closer up with the binoculars. He was sitting still in the brush near our backyard pasture, definitely a bobcat. Smaller than our dog but hope the barn cat stays safe inside. Doubt it would bother the goats or horses.
I have been doing a walking challenge with DD and a couple of her friends. My goal is 7500 steps daily. I have done really well with the exception of Monday this week.
DB got out of ICU yesterday and went home today. He will have oxygen at home and visiting nurses. Others in the family with Covid are recovering and doing well. I am glad for that.
Barbie - Happy Anniversary!
