What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

My petty reason - my low self esteem and shyness as a kid was likely the cause as well as the growing product of childhood bullying. I want to be strong, fit, healthy to prove to myself who's in control.11

Mostly doing it so people will stop commenting on my weight, how I should diet and so on. I'm tired of that.
Let's see if losing 55 lbs will make them shut up11 -
I bought a gorgeous screaming red sports car and I want to look just as gorgeous when I step out of it!20

So I won't get dumped again.19

So that I won't be the fat mom amongst my kids friends.15

She was constantly bashing my weight my whole life and always making comments on how much I eat, or what I'm eating, or how much I'm exercising. It took a major toll. At one point she was 3 sizes smaller than me and she rubbed it in my face constantly. She would frequently point out that I was still gaining weight while she was losing weight. So finally, I had enough and decided to take control.
I know this is four years too late but I face the same problem. First it was my mom calling me fatty and now it's my dad despite watching me work hard and choose healthy home cooked foods. It's never gonna stop o guess😭
Family are tough-the people who are supposed to love you the most are sometimes the worst! If all they can talk about is how you look, how much you weigh, or any bad habits they think you have, maybe you should try walking away from them, with a comment that when they are interested in you as a person, what you do, what you think, things you like, etc that you would be happy to carry on a conversation. People who say critical or hurtful things to family members are only trying to boost themselves up and is not a way to keep the love going. Hang in there, improve your health for yourself, not them.13 -

Content warning: abuse
I lost some 15 pounds several years back when I first started dating someone, and out of nowhere he started being mentally and emotionally abusive. And when I gained the weight back from stress eating from his abuse he said "I knew you couldn't do it the whole time." For a while I associated weight loss with him and his cruel words so I gradually gained weight over the years because I was afraid to lose. I managed to break that association and now whenever I look in the mirror/step on the scale and see that I'm closer to my goals and feeling strong and healthy, it like I'm flipping him the bird and saying "F you for holding me back even after you were gone" and I know I've won.30 -
To stick it to all the haters that said u can't lose baby weight. Once you have kids it's over, your big so get use to it. I want to see jaws drop in shock and say suck it.12

Petty level unlocked!
1. To stick it to the exes
2. To always look good for the hubs and as a gentle reminder that if he EVER thinks of stepping out or leaving me, I'll be just fine finding his replacement.
3. To be the "hot mom"
4. To be the "sexy friend"
5. To be able to wear an actual bikini for ONCE in my life.
6. To make up for all the wasted time in my teens and early twenties when I was too psychologically messed up to see that I was beautiful and worth living life REGARDLESS of my size.
A petty goal I have is to have abs by the time I'm 40, I have until July 2022 to make that happen.
I'm perfectly happy with being healthy and fit, watching my body do amazing things. Buts a little fun to have these petty drivers too. 😎14 -

He doesn't deserve your love but that's just a random strangers opinion. From experience, a person like that is just selfish and nothing you do is going to make them see the lovely person you are REGARDLESS of your size. Why would you want someone like that in your life anyway?
There is someone out there for you that is kind and will love you for you. Let them find you while you work on yourself, darling. ❤10 -
Seriously, don’t we all just want to look good naked? I mean, we all can fake it behind a great shirt but when we are stepping into the shower, we want to look good.12

To look good in the slimmer fitting shirts I like to wear (and not have my belly pushing them out), be faster on my bike and look good nood5

That loser doesn’t deserve you and you shouldn’t want to be with someone who is with you based on your physique. Forget him and move on12 -
I want to be the one who aged the best out of all the people who treated me like *kitten*.. I want to look better than the girls and make the guys wish they didn’t ignore me for the bitchy skinny ones who look like crap now anyways lol ahhhhh this sounds so bad. I honestly also have a lot of good and healthy reasons but it feels kind of good to just admit my dark side 😂12
