I don't think anyone would mind you joining late - others have. Just set your own goal of pounds to lose by July 31st: 5 pounds, 10 pounds, 15 pounds,...10 -
My original goal back in December was to lose about 25 lbs. I calculated that if I lost 1 lb per week, I’d get there by May 29th. That seemed like a long time away and I’m not sure I really believed I’d get there. But, day by day, week by week, one pound at time, I am sooo close!
😁 Going into the long weekend and the coming week I’m aiming to maintain. This will be practice for what’s to come...
I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but moving forward, I am setting a maintenance range at somewhere between 131-134. I’d like to learn how to maintain this weight range (for good... no plans to have to lose any of it again) and work on self improvement in terms of acceptance, appreciation, and body image.
I have never in my adult life been completely satisfied with my weight, for as long as I can remember, I’ve been trying to lose weight, even when I now know I didn’t need to. The thing I would tell my younger self... “Your body is healthy and strong.... keep it that way by eating well and moving consistently every day so you can live a long, healthy, active life. Treat your body well by eating well and building consistent exercise habits”.

I just turned 72. I'm retired with plenty of time on my hands, so no excuse not to conquer my weight problem. I've lost 78 pounds since last July and still have probably another 30 to go. Last year, it was a chore to go to the mailbox, and now I walk 2-3 miles a day. My number one activity is swimming daily: usually 1500-1800 yards in 50-60 minutes. As I've gotten more fit, I've started walking, biking, strength training, and a little yoga.
My goals:- be "fit as a fiddle"
- be strong, flexible, agile, with great balance...
- get ready to hike the Alps, and lots of other places.

Press reset!!! Where I live restrictions have been increased to slow the spread of the virus. My daughter who is in grade 12 has been back to online learning and will likely not be back to school as cases are rising and healthcare system at the brink of disaster. It's been very depressing and an emotional time watching her experience "grief" due to all she has lost this year. I've been struggling with any additional weight loss and just basically maintaining. I have to remain positive that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and remain strong for her! I've pressed the reset button today like others! This group has been so inspiring and I've realized that we may be from all over but we are all in this together...weight and Covid! Hugs to you all!10

It's enjoyable, motivating and helpful to post regularly and track your weight loss. We will help motivate you, support you, and share tips. Come and join us on this reasonable (1-1.5 lb. loss per week) weight loss challenge. We have 13 weeks to go until July 31st.
There are other challenges that are more formal. The Biggest Loser Monthly Challenge (which goes month to month) is the only one I'm aware of, but I imagine there are others.
Many other fitness-oriented websites have challenges as well. I participate in some on Garmin Connect (I have a Garmin sports watch) and on Strava but again, I imagine Apple, Fitbit, and others do something similar.

Good morning friends! I have been tracking my food on MFP- the good and the bad. It is helping!
I also have been cooking more at home with Hello Fresh- highly recommend trying it at least once. They have lower calorie meals to choose from... it all comes in a box, fresh and compact. They have tons of promotions for a free box. Give it a try. It has also cut my grocery bill. Everything you need comes in the box, but you cut it and cook it up... so you feel productive and as the title implies it's all FRESH.6 -

So sorry to hear about your daughter's school year. That is so awful. I feel for you and her!

I weighed 330 last July and set a goal to lose 100 pounds. It's a long slow grind (at least it has been for me), but the reward is so worth it.
Good luck!

I have greek or Icelandic yogurt and granola with fresh berries and a cup of tea most mornings. Comes in around 350 calories depending on how hungry I am.5 -

Here I come !
Enjoying a protein smoothie for breakfast. Approx just under 300 calories in it. Tasty, quick and nutritious. I'm happy with the calorie content and it does keep me going until mid morning snack or lunch. 👍

I usually have oatmeal w/ some sort of berry (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries) and often some almonds or pecans. It's around 250 - 370 calories depending on whether I add nuts. But this morning, I indulged a bit with two fried eggs, a pancake and some nonfat milk: a whopping 700 calories!
I too sometimes have a chocolate protein smoothie w/ banana and nonfat milk for breakfast, and that's 300 calories even. More often though, I have this as a pre/post workout "snack".5 -

Having this group has made the whole misery of Covid feel less isolating. We really are in this together. I’m so sorry for your daughter. I feel for kids that age. They have given up so much that really matters to them through all of this.
Good luck on your reset but also, congratulations on being able to maintain during restrictions, shut downs and overall stress. You’ve got this!6 -

I have trouble remembering to post weekly but I'm really trying to keep up my momentum. I'm pretty active but struggle with avoiding junk food and eating a reasonable amount. I know my goal weight isn't possible by July but I'd love to get to 140lbs. Last July I was at 142.0lbs so I'm sure I've got it in me. It was a harsh year for me but I don't want to yoyo anymore I'd like to grab my goals and keep improving.9 -
My name is Donna and I am 61 in May. I live in the Midwest of the USA. 5' 5" tall. My starting weight was 253. I have relapsed in the past year and need to get back on track. I am type 2 diabetic and in remission for breast cancer. Health is my #1 priority.
My goal in this challenge is to lose 15 pounds and land firmly in Onederland.

One reason that I’m in this group is to heed my own advice...
Thanks for the reveal and connecting on a personal level, much appreciated, we are in this together.

Mon May 24th/21 Check In
SW 162lbs
Goal Weight *New* 150lbs
{Ideal Weight 140lbs}
Today's Weight = 157lbs
So I have gained weight - no surprises there!!
About 2 lbs since last Check In May 17th I think🤔 Since beginning MFP mid January/21, my biggest loss was around 8lbs(ish)which I achieved around mid April. So that took around 3 months of fairly concerted efforts towards tracking food and aiming to stay within my specific caloric intake in order to achieve an energy deficit plus adding in exercise in the form of walking.
Starting today I need to re-commit to this in order to reach my NEW goal of 150lbs - though I don't know if I will make that July 31st marker! But that's ok I will be happy with the #'s going down and feeling better like I did a few weeks a go.
Have a great week....Now I have to go back and read up what has been going with everyone!!

@JenT304 I need that Collagen powder for my face & hair/nails!! I'm 54 this year and lately my hair has become thinner and of course those 'fine lines' have become more prominent😉
