Went for the blood work, then worked, then neurologist (he was glad he hadn’t seen me since last year), then the couple who co-hosted the Halloween party helped us bring the decorations upstairs, now Vince needs to figure out where things go.
Sue – so sorry you had COVID
I liked the way I got here. Now I have to click on Categories and then this. Previously, I just clicked on the bookmark. Improvements!!!!! My you-know-what
Julie – feel better fast
pip – what was Kirby cooking?
Vicki – so sorry about your SIL
Kim – how scary that must have been!
The white space doesn’t bother me, either

Pip - The photos are spectacular! Nice you found a restaurant with dog amenities for Yogi. :star:
Fancy – Me too. I’m in for now but lack confidence. I hope for the best. :flowerforyou:
Flea – I talked over the airport car parking with DH but he wanted to spend a night in a hotel and have them drop us off at the door. They will take care of our car until we get back. A bonus is that we will have a good night’s sleep. We may be gone for a month, and it felt safer to DH to leave the car with the hotel. Travel is difficult for him due to health problems. I’m glad he will be rested before we get to the airport. :star:
Heather – Good news that you get to visit your son in Nottingham.
Pip – I love the photos! I particularly like the elk.
Kim – Sorry for your stressful morning and nasty scare. I am happy that your dog, Levi, survived.
I am delighted to have found Women 50+ after the computer challenges yesterday. I hope they’re done with difficulties and we will able to continue to enjoy our community. :star:  :star:

Yay! More changes. Change is good, as KJ said.
Pip: I love the new sheets in Betty. What an amazing trip. You make me want to go camping. LMK if you ever go as far east as Colorado.
Vicki: So sorry for the difficult news and relationship with your daughter. Hugs.
SueBDew: Glad to see you are back. Yes, I lost my DH in May, then my brother in August. Rough summer.
Kim: What a horror! I can totally understand the helpless feeling of leaving a loved one in a hospital while you have to wait outside wondering. Just another one of the stresses caused by Covid. So glad Levi is okay. Exhale.
I am flying to Northern California tomorrow for the weekend. I am bringing my brother's cremains 'home'. His ex-girlfriend has tried to contact his friends, but only one has responded to her invitation. That is so sad to me because my bro was a party guy, and loved to be among his friends. Well, those of us present will do our best to give him a final sendoff that is heartfelt and worthy of the great guy he was. I have been a wreck all week, even at my grief counseling session. I'd give anything not to have to go, but will grit my teeth, try to smile and not lose my 'cheese' (as Lisa likes to say). If there is one thing I took out of the therapy sessions it is that however I chose to grieve, it is perfect.
Got my POAs and will drafts from the attorney. Letting my niece, who will be my agent, review before finalizing. Feels good to have done this, even if my estate is pretty modest.
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Good evening all. Hope you had a great day.
Kim - so glad your pup is ok. You never know what they will find along the path. I don't Know if you heard about the huge snow and low temps we had in February but the electricity went out at our house when the temp outside was -6degrees. It got down to 32 inside (everything is electric). Our son came to get us as soon as the road was passable. Plants froze inside the house. The reason I am telling you this is it did something to the pecan trees and we have zero pecans on 27 trees. Not many in the orchard either.
Vickie- so sorry for your loss. What a shock to wake up hearing that first thing in the morning.
So, the rest of the story. I had pretty much recovered from the viruses except for the fatigue and seven months later I took my first shot what followed was fever, body aches, and cough. Got better in a few weeks and took the second shot. Highest fever I had had in all this time, worst body aches, nausea and cough. A few weeks later, I had some neurological symptoms such as pings all over my head, feeli like I was walking through cobwebs. Two months later my hair began to fall out And eventually the top and side of my head were bald. I bought a wig and a dermatologist treated me for several months. Right now it is coming back and is about an inch long.
Sorry to be so long. I had too many antibodies and my body was stressed out. Still have some other issues but I am sure you are bored.
Stay safe

Rori – safe travels
suebdew – I thought when you had COVID, you then had antibodies. Why did you feel you needed to get the shot? I’m sorry you went thru so much.
Yea for me. I actually did some yoga tonight. And you KNOW how much I absolutely hate to exercise at night. Admitted, it was only for 20 minutes. But that’s a start. Trust me, I was trying to find all kinds of excuses. But I finally forced myself. I do have some 10 Minute Solution pilates DVD’s, so I’ll try using them one day – maybe.

I’m sorry for the delay in responding life’s been busy. I’m Eileen. From MS. I will try to get to know y’all by following this thread. Thanks for letting me join in.
I have been on MFP for awhile but haven’t join in on the threads. I’m on daily but might not get in here daily.
by reading the thread. This group is warm and friendly. I’m looking forward to joining in. Now to learn how to.
hope everyone has a good night.

Barbara - it is the same administrator. I am going to miss my Supervisor tremendously. Some of her work habits drive me a little batty at times (she’s a procrastinator) but otherwise I really enjoy her. She’s always been a buffer when the administrator is off the rails too. I’m quite nervous about her leaving.
Kelly - what a wonderful story!
Allie - that would still be a long day with all of that information to absorb.
Good luck with the board change.
Heather - that’s wonderful
Pip - I love the sheet seat covers they are perfect. I like the white too, it makes it easier on my eyes. Funny how we’re all
Vicki - what a shock, sorry for the loss.
Kim - I’m so sorry about Levi. That happened to a friend of mine too.
Sue - sorry you struggled so badly with Covid and the shots. Staff that had Covid and the shots did say they they felt worse after the shots. None of them had the long term effects you did though.
Michele - some of our staff that were fully vaccinated and had Covid have had it a second time now too. Nothing seems to be 100% effective with this one, it’s just a better chance of survival having the vaccine.
I had my third booster today and except for a sore arm feel ok so far. I have a busy weekend so I’m hoping I don’t have any side effects. I’m not expecting any as I didn’t with the first two.
I also had ceramics tonight, I set the project for myself aside and started working on the gift for my daughter and son in law.
Tomorrow my eldest daughter and Grands are coming out. Jonah will stay here with Grampie while the gals go shopping.
I tire very easily these days I have a doctors appointment at 3 and hopefully can get some answers to help me.

2 or 3 days I don't feel up to snuff. 😐️

Sent one more email off today. I'm taking it slowly. One foot in front of another.
Raining and miserable here. I'm going to set foot outside in a bit to buy a baking potato for tonight's meal. DH bought brussel sprouts, so the meal is organised around them. I actually LOVE them, but I may have to spend the night upstairs! 🤤
Friday night is wine night.
It's our 17th wedding anniversary in 8 days time. I can hardly believe it! DH still feels new to me. ☺️ We have decided to go out for lunch rather than dinner as neither of us likes going out in the cold and dark. I'm going to ring somewhere in a bit that I like the sound of. Last night I ordered a silk tie for one of his presents. It's pale blue with pink dots. He hates ties and only ever wears them for the formal evenings on the cruises, but I think it will be nice to have a change from the one he bought for our wedding!!!! Last Christmas I bought him a formal white shirt and gorgeous Blue John cufflinks. So now he is kitted out!
I think I will leave the potato until later. It's pouring and blowing a gale out there!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Carol - so pleased the cataract surgeries went well!
Tracey - Thinking about you. Your symptoms sound like my struggle with iron and thyroid issues and are so destructive for your quality of life. That bone-deep tired shouldn't go on this long, and I hope the doc can help.
Julie - I'm so sorry you're not feeling well...
SueBDew - Dang woman, it has been a rough summer for you! Hope things are turning around, and it's so good to see you posting again.
Allie - Not being able to see the community in the Android app is a known bug, but they say you can still go to the website on your phone... The board change does not sound like a good thing, but here's hoping I'm wrong. Thinking about you as you walk through the transplant process.
Eileen in MS - We're glad you're here. Drop into any conversation that interests you. The thread moves pretty fast, so don't feel you need to respond to all of them.
Rori - Just hugs, my dear. It seems the depth of our grief is equal to the depth of our love for the person we've lost. Your grief for your husband and brother shows what amazing people they both were. Thinking about you. Oh - and your cheese is firmly on your cracker, dear heart, more than most.
Kim - Still thinking about you and Levi - hope he's doing much better this morning and back to his old self.
Pip - Love the pics of the Grand Canyon! Y'all look very happy, all three of you. 🙂
For those who are disturbed by the glare, that same link also shows that they ARE getting a lot of feedback on all the white space and are working on it.

morning ladies
I dont like this new format at all, i cant get on my phone and chat with you all like I used to and, it only lets me go to one page at a time..
anyway, SueBDew so sorry you went through all that, but so glad your on the mend..
im glad I blew the leaves I had but without being able to put up some type of barrier they have all blown in again darn it...it is supposed to rain all day today and is windy.. so its a stay inside day today..
Trudy asked my yesterday morning if I wanted to go to Greece and as much as I would have loved to I know my body would not have been able to take all the walking around the ruins she wants to go see.
I am hoping with this wind today it takes down the last of the leaves and I can do one last blow of the leaves and put the blower away for the winter..
I started trying to crochet that afghan for Taliah with that Jumbo yarn and am not happy with the outcome so far so will look on Youtube and see if I can get some pointers there.. I do have to say that the yarn is soft and plush and snuggly .
I'm hoping I can figure out how to get the community page working on my phone so I can communicate more often..
found out that they are having an issue with the community page with android users which would be me, so hopefully they will get that fixed soon

I feel like I do too and I don't know why. I've been to the Dr and have had tests etc. with nothing specific pointing to why I might feel so tired.
I fall asleep on the bus on the way home almost every evening.
This evening, I couldn't keep going and napped on the sofa.
On the weekends, I often get 10+ hours of sleep and could go on sleeping longer than that.
I feel like the No. 1 thing I want to do is sleep ... or even just lie in bed and stay there for several days.
I hope you do get some answers!! ❤️

Yes, if anyone is interested, we can all follow along with the progress they are making with the new software. 🙂
They've got updates and things at the top of the page here: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories
I am also affected by the Android app thing but that's all right, I can use the website if I wanted. Lately I've been that busy, I've been working with my phone on the bus on the way to work and sleeping on the way home, so I have hardly noticed that the Android app isn't working.

11: Choose a different route and see what you notice on the way. Hard to accept sting of correction while remaining true to self, being kind to myself as well as others. Can see now a little more how peoples’ feelings get hurt and how they handle it.
12: Find out something new about someone you care about:
Joe invited me to watch the end of the Robert Osborne 20th anniversary celebration recorded in 2014. Really enjoyed it but now I’m sleepy and jumpy (from the unusual late night tea) at the same time. Funny, caffeine never used to bother me. Ah another joy of the years…
Terri that has been a long time to wait. Trusting the appointment on the 19th will bring quick resolution and healing.
KJ your leaf story reminds me of another pair of giggling young girls who filled a boy’s mg convertible with popcorn…
Machka respectfully disagree about the spoiler, as I only had to type it once in my template document, then when I copy/paste to the next day it was there. Now I have to select every time. May just have to eliminate all those details from postings… That three little words meme made me laugh out so loud Joe could hear. Rally like the color background of your posting.
Pip really enjoying your trip, vicariously, thanks. the sofa cushion covers!
Karen which channel broadcasts the “Martha” Medicare ad?
Flea what you said about the yellow star. Miss it.
Vicki so sorry to hear of the shocking loss and daughter’s reticence.
Oh Kim! So scary. Our Tumble acted like that once after licking a salamander. Some exude toxins through their skin as a predator deterrent. Thankful to hear Levi is recovering. ((hugs))
Rebecca I can see your apple didn’t fall far from that pretty tree.
Carol happy for your good surgery results!
Michele “Improvements my you-know-what”. Mine too.
Katla that hotel solution sounds like best case. Whew!
Heather and Rori wishing you both safe travels. ((hugs))
Suebdew we are not bored. Sad to hear of your astonishing and previously-unheard-of side effects from the vaccine. Glad the dermatologist’s treatment is having success.
@soluthernmom3 Eileen from MS you joined by posting. We look forward to getting to know you too!
Tracey sorry to hear it. Hate it when the problem person has the power to drive the helpful person out. Fingers X’d the appointment gives you some help for the pain and fatigue.
Kate and Cheri always happy to see your smiling faces popping in.
Karen, how did you send message about background color? When I tried to “submit a request” I couldn’t enter in the required Device Type and Reason fields, then it kicked me out.
Lighter, lovelies!

Good morning all! Happy Friday!
Pip- Fantastic pictures! Americana at it's best! How does Yogi like seeing the elk/deer? Does he react much to them?
Suebdew- Oh my friend! So sorry to hear of your trials with the vaccine! Hopefully, this is the last of it. So sorry to hear about your pecan trees!!
Vicki- Sorry to hear about your son in law! Such a shock, huh?! Sending healing thoughts to your daughter and the family. Peace and strength to you all as well!
Heather- I like to hear how you "pop" out for a potato. lol I can't do any "popping" like that where I am. I think I need a garden to be able to "Pop" like that!
Rori- safe travels to Northern CA
Kim- Poor Levi! Poor you! Scary when stuff happens to our non-verbal family (pets/kids)! Glad he was seen by the vet and is "sleeping it off".
Machka and others experiencing extreme exhaustion- I have been plagued with this for a couple of months now. I honestly believe it is due to COVID. Not the virus itself; but all of the changes to lifestyle, news, health, etc. More on this below.
Yesterday, during the kids nap time, I had a little meltdown out in my garage. I have just felt so overwhelmed and exhausted by everything the past couple of months. Lots of crying. IF I had had any alcohol on hand, I would have drank it all (work be da**ed). This week, I had a barrage of emails come in regarding a variety of different subjects (work, family, volunteer commitments, people wanting to chat) I haven't replied to any of them. My daughter calls daily to talk and I find myself having to take a few deep breaths before I pick up; because I don't want to talk. Like Machka said in a previous post, " I just want to hibernate". Crawl in a quiet little place until things go away or go back to normal. Maybe this is the new normal and I am having trouble getting back to it? Idk. This weekend, my goal is to answer the emails, to bow out of any volunteer events in the next two months, and not to commit to anymore training events or family functions. For now, I am just done doing "extra". I will focus on what needs to be done for work and my own family (husband/children) and our holidays. Just keep breathing. Big, deep, breaths.
Well, kids are here and busy playing. I hear the beginnings of a power struggle between the four year old girl and the two year old girl. lol Better scoot! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Allie - I always use the website on my phone. No problem finding us.
A good morning with booking our anniversary lunch at a French bistro in town. I told them the occasion, so she said she would give us the best table.
Then I found our Christmas present to each other. A lovely super king duvet cover set. Ikat print. Won't open it when it arrives, until Christmas. DH approved! 🤩
Then the best news. It looks like my interview will go out on Monday. It should have been today, but the presenter is sick. They hope she will be back on Monday and will confirm over the weekend. If it does go out it will be just after 13.00 GMT. Sarah Gorrell. Her slot runs from 10.00 -14.00 and the interview is the Lunchbreak segment. The Sounds app has it, or you can get to it direct through Google. BBC Radio Sussex. Also catchup so you don't have to get up early!
CORRECTION !!! Just heard it's going to be Friday November 19th. 🙃🤯🤪
So, not a bad morning.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Morning, afternoon and evening, all...
I have a passel of people all over my living room, trying to sleep. Not as easy as it sounds, as Corey had to go to work this morning, so lots of noise with the coffee maker and me banging around trying to make his sandwich, then lots of lights as doors open and then his truck starting up. He left at 5:15 am, as usual, and then things settled down, and even the baby went back to sleep. Luckily, my tiptap on the keyboard doesn't seem to keep anyone awake.
My daughter and the kids got here about 3 p.m. yesterday, and she and I were able to get some time in between the big ones running in and out of the house. Why they're here is in the spoiler.
This is really long, sorry upfront.
So... to set the scene a bit, the oldest grandson is 9 years old, and a wonderfully responsible boy who's trying hard to be a help to his mama. The granddaughter is six, and the littlest grandson is almost two years old. My DD's husband is in Europe, posted there by the Army, and is about halfway through that posting, with four more months to go.
As the previous four months have progressed, her husband has begun showing signs of toxic jealousy, accusing my daughter of having an affair, checking on everything that she spends and questioning every amount, and (in my opinion) verbally abusing her. And then afterward, sending flowers to say he's sorry. All this started within a few weeks of him arriving in Europe.
So, effectively, my daughter has been a single mother of three kids for four months. In order to get somewhat of a break, every so often she would leave the older two at the house in the evening and take the baby with her, and do errands like picking up groceries, or simply driving around to soothe the baby, and herself. Driving is her happy place.
In Kansas, children as young as six can be left home alone for short periods of time. On base, however, they must be at least ten years old. My daughter's husband knew this, and two weeks ago, when he knew she was out driving (she had a phone app that he could use to track), he called the military police and made accusations of child abandonment, as well as calling my daughter's commander and first sergeant to lodge the same accusations.
When my daughter got back home with her youngest, there were FOUR military cop cars, lights flashing, waiting for her, and all the neighbors standing around watching the show. They took her baby, handcuffed her right in front of all the neighbors, and took her to jail. She was there for more than five hours, as her commander was doing everything to get her out.
Yesterday, she was able to break down and cry for the first time. She finally told me about all of it. Most of the time when I talk to her on the phone, she's either at work with people around or with the kids, and can't talk freely. It kills me to see her cry--she is one of the toughest people I know. But what got her was the four cop cars and every neighbor watching. She told me she hates to pull up in her own driveway, as she knows the neighbors are watching her still. She is embarrassed, ashamed and feeling really beat up.
She did sit down and talk to everyone in her command structure about all this, and they are all livid about the way this was handled by all the players. They're writing formal letters of complaint to the military police, all the way up to the MP commanders about the overreaction as well as the public shaming. And because of the accusations, Family Advocacy is springing surprise visits as well as scheduled visits to her home to make sure the kids are OK, and this is all being seen by the neighbors as well. They have, by the way, been quite complimentary in their reporting on how my daughter parents her children.
I feel so helpless, which I am, and so angry for her that I can barely breathe. All I can do is listen. I have urged her to report to her husband's command structure that his behavior is unacceptable. It's not her style, and she just shakes her head. I do keep repeating to her that his jealousy grows from his own insecurities, that it's not her responsibility but his to get some counseling.
Her husband's big mistake was that through these actions, his wife now has the blinders off that any married woman has installed. We all tend to ignore the things that irritate us about our spouses because the things we love about them outweigh the bad things. A number of these short conversations between kids running in and out have shown me that she's beginning to look at the six years they've been together and see all the bad things, and the current jealousy tirades, and they're adding up to a marriage that's circling the drain.
I'm just glad she's here and I can hug her for a few days longer. The rest is in her hands--but I'm glad she was able to come home and stop hurting for a little while. I don't have blinders on, either, and I'm well aware my daughter is probably at fault for some of this. I simply don't care. I told her husband the first time I met him that he needed to remember that I was always on her side, no matter what was happening, and I always would be. This does not change that. Everyone needs someone who is on their side.
Sorry, I know that was way too long.
Ah... everyone's up. The happy chaos begins! Time for one more cup of tea to fortify me.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR

KJ (Kelly) ... for me it isn't COVID. COVID has barely affected us here.
For me, it's my husband's accident in 2018 and everything that has affected.
I long to go to Canada and see my family but we can't travel because of his situation.
I wish he were able to do more of what he could do, but he can't.
All our hopes and dreams for the future shattered that day.
I'm still experiencing grief. We both are.
I've also ended up taking on much of his life.I feel like I am doing about 1.5 people's lives instead of just one (mine).
But I don't think that should be tiring me out so much. Unless maybe it is slowly wearing me down.
It stuck up on me on the bus on my way home from work one day this week and I burst into tears right there on the bus ... then fortunately fell asleep.

I'm not sure - I think I put "other" for the device - anyway, it went through okay the first time - I used my laptop to do it, though, as I don't like using my tablet or phone for MFP because it just doesn't work as well.

Covid disease doesn't give you the same level of immunity as Covid immunization. Getting the immunization is recommended whether you have had Covid or not.

That sounds like a lovely houseful.
