I read some during the night when I couldn’t sleep last night. I know there were things I wanted to comment on and can’t remember them now.
Vicki - I want to get down to around 140 or so. Currently hovering around 183-186, up and down from one day to the next. I know it’s the unhealthy snacking the last week or so. I need to get active crafting again, I’ve just been bagged after work.
Happy Birthday Barbie!!!!! 🎂
Love your card.
I’ll put this in a spoiler as it could bring upsetting to some.My cousin that had skin cancer in 2020, attempted suicide in 2021 (the new medication she started about 2 weeks before Covid hit had suicidal tendencies as a side effect. She didn’t see a doctor or have a review because of Covid and since she was diagnosed with cancer and everything else going on she hadn’t noticed how depressed she was getting) now has a lump on her breast. She had a 3D mammogram, ultrasound and a biopsy. The lump is hard, irregular and can’t be moved. She is scared. I am scared for her. Her Mom and my Dad were siblings, there is not a history of cancer in our mutual family history, but it is rampant in her Dad’s side. She sent me a picture of her lump and it doesn’t look good. There is one spot that looks like a potato that has a sprout coming out of it. On top of all of this she doesn’t trust her husband to take care of and support her because he has failed that test miserably for the last two years. I wish I lived closer to her.
We approved to have the last of the major issue with our payroll program put into production today. Monday and Tuesday I will be training the staff on how to use one of the new functions. Only a few minor things left to go, but I feel a huge weight has been lifted.
Now just to get caught up on the rest of my work.

Mindful March
25: Focus your attention on the good things you take for granted. Breathing, vision, consciousness.
26: Choose to spend less time looking at screens today.
First time Bingo at the Elks’ today with T and C. It’s a whole thing, new to me. People take it so seriously, have special carriers for their various daubers, and good luck charms set up “just so.” Not sure I have the needed attention span and it was too much sitting today for my bum knee, Lunch with T and C later was great. Only 2K+ steps by 10pm, so got up off my butt and walked in place to Jeopardy, upping total to 5K+.
Katla hope your new doctor becomes as beloved as the former, and that you see him soon.
Lisa like the idea of a travois, the idea of you driving around in your little tractor. Pics please
Machka “…middle aged…” hahahahahah!
The very happiest of birthdays dear Barbie! Glad your day was glorious.
Vicki Con very grats on the first 100. “Not giving up and that is the important thing” yes! We can do this!
Tracey prayers for your cousin and ((hugs)) for you.
I’m 72, lost 25 lbs when I started mfp back in 2008, stuck at 30-35 lbs over goal ever since. Just grateful I didn’t put on the Covid 19.
Later, Lighter, lovelies!

Good morning and happy Saturday to all!
Barbie- Happy belated birthday!
Machka- Your pics of all of the work you have done at your place are astounding! And lovely! I love the dry rock stream bed idea! I also found the "middle aged" meme hilarious!
Heather- Edie is such a sweetie; and I love how all of the kids love your DH. Grand parents can be great friends. Alan Cummings. I have seen him in a few things. Never knew he was my age! I thought he was younger.
Rita- I think of you often and am sending you warm thoughts/good vibes/prayers for peace strength and comfort. Take what you need, give yourself grace, and you are correct; there isn't much within our control. Working on ourselves and how we react to outer stressors is probably your best bet. ((( ))) hugs friend!
Tina- Other than the orangey items you have made; you could make a nice orange marinade for things like orange chicken. Or you could freeze the juice into ice cubes to pull out and use whenever, or grate the peels, freeze them in ice cube trays, then have them on hand to put into a pot of hot water with some cinnamon/cloves for a nice pot pourri. My childcare kids and I use older oranges (or a few when I have more than we can eat) in our bird feeding station. The kids add the oranges to little strings of bird food and hang them in the trees. We get a lot of birds since we have added them. I have seen many people just pound a nail here and there in the tree trunk and pop a halved orange onto it.
Pip- Mather looks like a big boy. My niece has a very large and "clunky" black lab whose name is Watson. His head is humongous and he moves around the room like a moose; but he is the most loveable guy!
Update on my progress- I am 55 and just coming down from my highest weight ever. I am 5'8 (I think it is important to put your height with your weight; just a reminder that we are all different sizes and our goals aren't the same) and currently weigh 260. I have lost ten pounds in the past couple of months. I have gained 100 pounds in 20 years. *sigh* I work 50 hours a week with 11 children ages 6 weeks to age 6 in my childcare home. In the past two years things are becoming more "difficult" to do; due to my weight and all of the aches and pains that go with it. My plan is to work at least another 10-15 years in childcare; but to do that, the weight has to come off. I don't think I will make it, otherwise. SO...I continue to fight the battle of the bulge.
Yesterday was our annual Kitchen Beach Party. The kids had a blast (as they always do) and I swept up over five pounds of sand off my floors. Today I will shovel the sand out of my kitchen window and into the turtle sand box that I will have sitting on scooters just outside the window. Then, all I will need to do is roll the scooters to the other side of my driveway and slide the sandbox off and onto the grass. Here are a couple pics of the kids. I added a pic of the sand box (without kids) so you can see the size and where it is set up in my kitchen. It is a space of 10'x4'. It is just a fun day for the kids as we wait for the weather to cooperate.
Well, I have a bit of cleaning to do this weekend (lol) and my usual shopping and errands to run. This upcoming week is my last week of work, before I have a week off. We will be beginning our "spring" theme. We will start with seeds/birth.
I guess I better scoot and get things done. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Happy birthday barbie. Regular life is à whirlwind! Hello to all2

Barbie a very happy belated birthday to you. Loved the card your DH gave you. Have to say thank you for always giving us a new month. Having this group is a lifeline, like a family but better because we all pick it.
Yesterday my Jack was mowing the lawn and suffered a massive heart attack. The paramedics couldn't revive him. I'm so lost and miss him so much. I feel like my mind is running with thousands of thoughts that aren't going anywhere. I'm so sad. Have four of our five kids showering me with love and Jack's numbers friends wanting to support me... but really right now need to just grieve and find myself. The kids all volunteered to come but I encouraged them not to right now. I think I just need time to be alone and gather myself.

OH Betsy... I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Sending love and prayers for comfort and peace. We are all here for you for whatever you need. I'm sure you're in shock and people will try to surround you. Take your time. These next few days will be a whirlwind and you'll be numb. Try to find the most trusted "someONE" to lean on. That's the best advice I can give.
Happy belated birthday Barbie. Sorry I missed it.

Betsy - so very, very sorry to hear about Jack. Sending ((((huge hugs))))0

Betsy-sorry for your loss. My husband passed rather suddenly (was in ICU for 10 days). I understand what you mean about needing to be alone and feel and process.
Tracey-prayers for cousin.
Rita-it sounds like you are doing many positive things for yourself. I hope you continue to connect with your son and he receives and accepts the assistance he needs.
Age, etc.-I'm currently 67 (68 in November). In 2006 i weighed about 225. I'm 5'6. Have slowly lost over the years. Lowest weight since joining MFP was 140 (a bit too lean). Was maintaining during Covid. Decided to quit smoking last June. Between that and holidays, weight went up. Currently 155, but it's coming off. Figure the extra weight better than the smoke. I walk abut 3 miles every day and do other exercise. Work full time. And oh-I had my thyroid removed in 1996. It is possible to lose the weight! (and keep most of it off).
Off to clear some paperwork. I will no doubt be humming "Shall we dance" all afternoon.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio2
