@martaindale what app do you use to fun on the treadmill for?

My treadmill uses ifit for guided runs. I just got it earlier this summer and have really liked them. Treadmill runs can be such a grind but I have found the guided runs really enjoyable.

@kgirlhart - Congratulations on maintaining your weight loss! Such an amazing transformation!!

@marisap2010 - I am sorry for the loss of your friend.

@polskagirl01 I hope track Tuesdays continue to be successful! And I'm glad to hear you have been feeling better.

I don't have a treadmill at home but my work has a gym so this winter I plan on using it. It would be awesome if their treadmills have this.

I do have bike and trainer, I plan on utilizing this winter as well, I have used Zwift in the past for that but don't use it enough to justify the $20 a month to continue paying for it.

Most defiantly when stationary it's always better to be able to feel like we are surrounded by others. :)

    Welcome @lou2you2
Another idea is to just set up your phone or tv where you can watch videos while treadmill running. Mine has a little "shelf" for a tablet or phone (and a tablet also covers the display, which I like when I'm running for time).
Youtube even has videos of people running trails or other fun locations. We even had someone here who was "running" different countries via those types of videos.

Rest day for me today. I need it!

I never thought to look on YouTub! Thank you so much for this information, I will have to look into it!

Yes, this is what I have done. It makes a HUGE difference. Almost make the treadmill half-way enjoyable.

6.25 miles this morning. Got up late so it was already quite hot, and the bright shiny sun didn't help. Was supposed to be a threshold run, but I could only manage a negative split run, finishing the last mile at race pace.

    "Half-way enjoyable" sounds about right.

Right?! I don't know what happened but this is exactly what I did. I am so ready to get back to the active me! I hate this feeling like I'm going to fall over because my legs are so week.

    It's baby steps though!

I'm so happy to have someone else where I am! WE WILL GET THERE!!

Second night out in a row last night. That's me socialising/drinking for a good 6-8 weeks now!

Nice 6.5% West Coast IPA, which went down a treat with these guys. (Even told the lady to forget bringing the celery with it! 😂 )

@lou2you2 - running shoes are such a personal preference because everyone's foot and gait is different. Do you have a running store near you where you can try on different shoes? I personally like the Brooks Ghosts but I have a wide foot and they fit my foot good.

I second all of this! It's so helpful to feel the shoes on your own feet. A running store can also do a gait analysis and make suggestions.

We do but it's a small selection and but needed a recommendation of where to start looking. We also have a running store but their recommendations were spot on to what I have already.

I can't get myself to buy running shoes unless I have tried them on. I was just curious if anyone else had some suggestions.

Or if anyone knows a good way to keep the heal from slipping that would be awesome.

    Thank you @teresa502 and @polskagirl01

@lou2you2 - do you use the runner's loop when you tie your shoes? Also called the heel lock. Basically uses the (usually unused) last hole. Many videos on web but here is one link https://youtu.be/RKdSqlFszG4

Thank you for this, I will have to try it. I have heard of it but completely forgot it was a think.

    Thanks again!

great note about the socks! definitely make a huge difference. I love my nikes but they change the brands and styles up so fast and the materials do not last as long as I would like either. The great thing is that you can send them back for up to 30 days with a complete refund so you are only out the shipping which means you can put a few runs in on a new style to see if you are really going to click or not.

46.5 total for the month not including today out of 120 stretch goal.. Starting out a much better month and hoping the temps will be in the 60's more often now.

Just a note for you in the dark runners as it's getting that time of year. I found some great "rechargeable" flashing lights to use this year - lightweight and very bright. So if you are running early take a look for them on amazon - not pricey and definitely worth it.

I'm trying to catch up on the thread after being off for a few days due to my schedule and the internet being crazy again. You all are doing great with your running.

@yirara I'm glad your ankle is healing quickly. Sorry that it happened in the first place. Take it easy so you don't reinjure it.

@tarun_yadavA You did great to get out for a run on Thursday and Friday when you weren't feeling like it. I'm with you, I would have gone for the wings and blue cheese. Glad London is getting rain. Sorry to hear about Queen Elizabeth's death. The wings look delicious...I forego the celery too.

@lou2you2 So glad that your daughter runs with you.

@martaindale I do hope they mow along your trail before it gets out of hand. Enjoy Puerto Rico. Looking forward to seeing pictures from your hike.

Glad to see you back @7lenny7 ! I have been wondering how you were doing. By now, you are in the middle of your race. I hope it goes well.
