At least you got to see him if not physically, but a picture and know he is ok.. why he hasn't contacted you is beyond me..
I just hung out here with Alfie today .. will do laundry tomorrow and maybe run over to the mall and return a few things.
It was emotional to see his face! I haven't a clue as to the why of anything he's done, or not done. Today I have a 6 lb box to send to him on Monday for Halloween! Plus wrote him a long letter. Hope the 7 magazines, brownies and candy is appreciated.🙏👍🏻⚓💖

I am curious, have you had to up your water intake since using the TENS unit?

A few years ago, I discovered that one way I can tell if I'm a bit dehydrated is that my hands look a little bit wrinkly ... and if I drink a tall glass of water, my hands plump out again.
Like right now. We were so busy with the bees at our bee group, I didn't drink much this morning at all. So my hands are a bit wrinkly. But I'm drinking now and they should plump up and be smooth again shortly.
I also use a Vit E cream on my hands and arms, mostly because of cat and garden scratches, and the skin specialist who saw me asked me if I used a cream and commented on how smooth and soft the skin is on my hands.
That's a combination of my Vit E cream and hydration.

Had my biennial bath this morning. I will probably have another one before the cruise. Lots of Olatum bath oil and loads of scrubbing with a loofah mitt. Feels lovely now. Manicure. Half a pedicure, but I'm waiting until near the time for varnishing toenails. No one will see them, but it's a bit of fun. Last cruise, I wasn't able to swim, because of the weather and the swell, (although I did try to go one day when it was closed), but the Med may be flatter. The pool is heated. Hoping I can get a chance. Swimming was a great pleasure on the previous ships, part of my holiday. I'm a good swimmer, proper hat, goggles, lengths. I used to go at 7 am and do 45 mins.
Lovely day here.

Barbara AHMOD-sorry to hear about alendronate related issues. So far I have no side effects but have inly used for close to a rear. Thanks for sharing so those of us who take it can be on alert.
Carol-good news on sister-glad you received clarification.
Started reply yesterday and ended up going to sleep! Definitely catching up on rest. Fatigue and pain in the butt is what I am left with. I'm icing a few times a day. It is only a spot the size of a silver dollar or so but a solid 7 on pain when sitting. Will stay mainly flat and ice several times a day. Taking full dose of anti-inflammatory and half of pain medicine (don't want whole body effect if I can avoid it-and they prescribe same dosage whether you weigh 150 or 250, always strikes me as strange.
Feeling morning nap coming on-I have had breakfast, iced and watched a movie. I am watching the Marvel series so I am up to date on those.
Take care all,

All about bees ...
If these two links work, they're videos of our attempts (our mentor and group's attempts) to hive a swarm:

Looking for a queen:
Unfortunately that queen didn't make it:
So the next attempt was to merge two swarms (that's my husband standing in the back):
Unfortunately that queen didn't make it either. So now we're onto the next plan and our hive is staying overnight with our mentor.

In addition to the bees, I also spent about 2 hours in the garden doing a whole lot of weeding and tidying. It's well and truly spring and we've got plants everywhere, both plants we want ... and ones we don't.
We've got 2 apple trees, 2 pear trees, 1 lemon, 1 cherry, 2 blueberry bushes, about 10 raspberry bushes and lots of strawberries. They're all blooming and leafing and getting ready to go.
The potatoes have started, lettuces are in, I think onions and leeks are in as well, and my husband has mentioned tomatoes. In front we've got snowpeas, carrots and beans coming along.
And flowers of all sorts!
I'm tired and a bit sore after two days of weeding etc, but I'm pleased with the progress this weekend. Next weekend I've got a bit of time off and I've got two areas to focus on. I didn't want to also have the areas I've finished today carrying over to next weekend.
Then we went for a 10 km bicycle ride.
Now I feel about ready for bed!

My current yard project is washing the vinyl fence. The work is awkward and wet so I'm doing it a little at a time knowing that eventually it will be finished. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be done every year.
I woke up a bit early this morning and since I'm walking alone today, I can go for my walk early and have plenty of time before we have to pick up groceries at eight o'clock. I put fresh batteries in the flashlight since the walk this early is dark for a long time.

I am currently in our RV on our daughter’s property. DH is in a care facility and working on improving his health. We have an apartment that I like. I hope we can be there together soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.3

Happy October! ... I'm just a little late to this month's party. Took me until last night to get through half of September and catch up with all of you today.
Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary! ... to all of you who have been celebrating.
Carol ... I've been praying for your sister and so glad to see that they believe they have removed all of the cancer. My MIL had a similar situation years ago and did well. Learning to breathe with part of your lung missing is difficult.
Rebecca ...very sorry you've been dealing with gut issues. So happy you got to see a photo of your youngest, but so wishing he would get off his duff and call you!
Thank you ... for wondering where I've been. I've been with my mother. Oh my ... you don't know what's involved with moving someone from a their home or the hospital or a skilled nursing facility until you've done it yourself. Katla ... hang in there! It takes a crazy amount of effort on your daughter's part, but she'll have you and your husband together again soon.
My mom is now in NY. Moved her in last Friday and she is in a rehab facility about 4 minutes from my home receiving intense therapy. The plan is to give her 3 weeks of therapy (she's now had one), reassess, and then discharge to a facility that meets her needs ... either long-term care or enhanced assisted living. Her recovery has been affected by the broken dominant wrist. She will only be allowed to weight bear with it this Wednesday and we'll see what she can achieve. It's been very swollen and giving her a lot of pain so we'll see. We're really hoping for the enhanced assisted living as long-term care costs are astronomical. She is happy to be near me and I'm visiting every day for a couple of hours. But honestly, she's so beat from the therapy she's getting (never had anything like it in Ohio), any more than that would just tire her out.
The details all came together at the last minute... insurance, transportation, a bed at a rehab facility ... but my gosh ... I was a wreck until it all did. I'm swamped right now in her new Medicare plan literature and ending the old plan and dealing with medical bills. The bank situation was a huge headache and still isn't right. Her financials, etc. Not to mention my home is full of things we didn't put in storage and probably will have to get rid of anyways as neither assisted living and definitely the long-term care facility won't be large enough for all of it.
We rented a wheelchair van (the irony of it given we owned one for 35 years) and my mom, who hasn't ridden more than 15 minutes in a vehicle for years, managed a 4 hour drive. Would have been 3-1/2 but she wanted to stop for a Dairy Queen Peanut Buster Parfait. LOL!
The facility she's currently in is part of a Catholic healthcare system. My mom's not Catholic, but many of her family were/are. In the midst of all this commotion, the fact that her husband (my dad) died only 2+ months ago has gotten lost in the shuffle. The very first thing on Saturday, the chaplain of the facility (Sister Jean) stopped to visit with my mom. Learning my mom is a new widow, she is spending a lot of time helping my mom with the grief process. I'll be forever thankful for this development alone.
Anyways, my Fireside apples are ready for picking. The deer took everything low. My husband got on a ladder and picked everything he could reach. And the tree is still loaded with apples! I'll be making pies after church this afternoon.
As for September goals. My weight stayed the same. October goals. Lose some weight, but not my mind! LOL.

Oh my gosh, Beth! You have been through every kind of loop. Sending best wishes.
PS Can I have some of your apples?
Pleased with myself for waking up from a nap and starting the dreaded tax return process. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! I am a procrastinator par excellence, but, in the end, the putting it off becomes more agonising than actually doing it.
Of course, when I do get around to it, it's simple and easy. So, I've done the worst bit, calculating my Amazon earnings. Our tax year runs from April to March, which is different to the US one, so I have to take it month by month. Fortunately, they have good records.
Love you loads, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -
OMGosh, Rebecca! I had no idea you hadn't heard from your son! I'm so sorry. That is heartbreaking to say the least. But what a wonderful surprise for you.
Barbie, your backyard is lovely!
Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Sunny and blue and warm and leaves and all that goes with it here in fall in MN.
