I wish I could dial and give him the phone, but they don't speak English well enough, so I have to text the son of the owner and then he translates. When they are here, we can go out and show them, but the mister conveniently and quickly disappears rather than talk to them. He wants me to do it.

Miles is such a sweet thing, Allie!
Today fixed my Asian broth with bok choy, zucchini, some steak, onions and mushrooms. Its such a comfort food. Plus I get a cup of pure broth in the end.
Sipping on Sparkling Ice grapefruit water, with ice cubes made with Simply pure grapefruit juice. Its delightful.
Today making a roast for Lee with carrots, potatoes and 1/2 yellow onion. I won't be eating it. Maybe some of the carrots and meat tomorrow.👍🏻

Tina in CA-we went to Tombstone a few years ago. It is a beautiful part of Arizona-more midwest like. The buildings and reenactments are enjoyable. Lots of speciality shops.
Karen-don't beat yourself up too much. It is always much easier to figure things out after the fact. We've all let someone down and we have been let down. All we can do is try not to repeat mistakes very often. Your honest self-reflection helps you with that.
Quiet day. Got some work things done that I need to. Changed bed. Watched football. Made a pan dinner I like with turkey keilbasa, asparagus, bell pepper and tomato. Got out for a 1 mile walk (it felt like 10!). Have kitchen cleaned up. Going to watch a bit of tv then go in and read.

I already take most of the supplements Karen mentioned and have been on a fairly high dose of D3 for years, recently added K2. I wonder what shape I'd be in if I never started on any of these.

Even though I had a sit-down job, I still managed to get nearly 8,000 steps a day running to the counter, copier, running documents to someone in back of the building, etc. After I retired I really had to work at getting equivalent steps in

There is a lot of information now about the dangers of being sedentary.
I became aware of those dangers in 2009 when I developed DVT in my left leg. One of the things various doctors have told me is that I need to get up and walk around at least once an hour and preferably once every half hour.
Then in 2013, when I started a new job, the ergonomic specialist came to set up my office. She asked about my activity level and I said that I exercised at least an hour a day. Her response was ... that leaves 23 hours a day of inactivity. Different perspective! And so I started climbing stairs at work and being more active in my lunch breaks, as well as making a point of getting up at least once an hour.
I did a step challenge one October, but in the week prior to that challenge, I wore my pedometer and just did what I normally did to see how many steps I was getting. It wasn't difficult for me to get 10,000 steps a day.
Between January and June, I was seconded to a temp position where I was more or less glued to my desk. I also could not get my chair entirely comfortable. That was a very stressful job for me, my back ached, and that's when my lower legs started going numb.
Fortunately the job I went to in July is much better. I'm back to getting up more frequently, and climbing stairs, plus my chair is more comfortable.
I've been off work, on holiday, for a little over a week now and I've been quite active during the day ... working in the garden, cleaning house, etc. and interestingly, my lower legs and feet feel better than they have in a while.
My workplace is moving offices right when I go back to work, so I'll have to see if I can be even more active there ... really make a point of getting up every 30 min.
At home, I often get up when the commercials come on TV and go clean/organise something - like putting the laundry away.
I have weights sitting next to my chair ... I should use them too.

I'm planning a mini vacation, just for me, by myself. I've always wanted to go to Tombstone, AZ, so I am going to take a little side trip there next month. I don't know why it's intriguing to me, but I'll be "in the area," so why not.

I went there when I was a child at least once, possibly more. My mother, in particular, loved that whole area.
Then my husband and I visited in 2012. He'd never been there before, and I wanted another look.
It seemed smaller than I remembered, but that's often the way when you see something as a child and then again as an adult.

My husband takes care of the dishwasher.
We each do our own laundry ... and I use my laundry as an excuse to get up frequently throughout an evening.
Some evenings I try to tidy a little before bed.
My lunch is easy-peasy and doesn't require making in advance.

Saturday night at the Elks, Harvest Dance Party woo HOO! Actually secret birthday party for a gal who hired this amazing one man band, Johnny Young, who played all dance music. Most of the gals from class showed up, including many of the newbies and beginners. A great time was had by all.
Still skimming, only to pg 40 but falling asleep…

Morning ladies, I've gotten a bit behind again. Been a bit busy looking after my mum etc and not had time to check in or post.
I really must schedule some time to catch up, because I hate getting too far behind. It's not as if I don't have the time as such, because I catch up with the MSN news every morning, but then get sidetracked by the items/videos "recommended" and before I know it an hour has passed! Every morning I tell myself not to get sucked in, but I do.

Rebecca you must be relieved to know what is wrong, I hope the offending gallstones get removed soon one way or the other.

Heather: I don’t have any of my early poetry as my mother destroyed it after I left home. Glad you got the washer replaced.
Glucosamine/Chondroitin: I started taking them about 15 years ago when I was in severe pain from my hip. The pain was reduced to a general ache after about a month. I had the hip replaced in 2015, and I’ve been taking them ever since.
Life is good Challenge: I have the leisure to indulge in my passion for dancing. Watched Strictly Dancing last night and had a couple of dance sessions to get my steps in.
We are having another damp autumn day, so I will spend it indoors. We have a Skype planned with the family after lunch.
