Pip ~ How old do you think Lucy and Chispa might be? I am sorry Lucy is having problems. So bad when they can't speak to tell you what is going on.

Went to the Walmart grocery today and always sad to look at the little bit of meat that they have in the cases. It's strange because when we go to Sam's club, the meat counters are filled to the brim.

Pip — It seems to me that you’re a Guardian Angel for rescued pups. I hope they do well and have improved health in your good care. ❤️

Had their records transferred from their old vet to mine, they have Lucy as 7 and chispas as 12. When I take her to our vet gonna get their opinion on age and get what her ideal weight should be

    Hello ladies!
Our internet was out most of the day, but after many hours with Verizon, it's all better now. I'm surprised we didn't have to replace the router. I was also surprised that Verizon's system hung up on me twice. But all's well that ends well.

So there's jeopardy tonight and then dumbbells. I never worry about Christmas gifts until the last minute. I need a birthday gift and a hostess gift for Thanksgiving first. The first will be a restaurant card, and I don't know about the second yet. Hmm. Maybe some pretty napkins. I better set that up soon.

My dad had a bad experience driving back from the dermatologist in the dark in the rain in rush hour on the interstate. Bad nerves, but nobody hurt. So I changed his next appointment to be nearby in town. Next I need to change my Mom's. Twenty years ago there weren't many specialists in town but it's grown. There's no need to drive in bad conditions.

There's always some little thing to do for their medical needs. It keeps me busy.

Flea-sorry sense of smell went. I thought that happened earlier on with Covid, but who knows. Friends it has happened to tell me it is very disconcerting. Hope it is short lived.

My son lost his sense of smell when he had covid and says there are still things he can't smell. 12/30/20 is when we all have covid- so almost two years ago.

Worked then stopped at Food Lion. Got shrimp on sale and sweet potatoes (39cents/pound! Glad you can freeze them!). Went to the dermatologist to have a skin tag removed. He said he was going to send it in for a biopsy so Medicare will most likely pay. Good news, but I really don’t think it’s anything. Then went to WalMart

Allie – how cute! Carmine reading to Miles.

I didn’t realize that the removal of the skin tag was as little as it was. Before I knew it, I was saying to the MD “is it over”. They gave me a local so I didn’t even feel anything. I could just smell a burning smell when they cauterized it. If I had known this, I would have had it done a while ago!!!

Kimberly can’t wait to see your resin creations. Oh, and welcome

I’m running out of ideas for food for breakfast. I get tired of the same old thing. In a sense, I can’t wait for Thanksgiving so I can have leftover turkey for breakfast. Just made some more hard boiled eggs in the IP. I’m thinking that I may make some kale soup in a few

Katie – I’m with you, I would NEVER reject someone’s gift. I’d rather it go to a food bank or homeless shelter, but I’d NEVER tell someone “no thanks”, especially after they’ve put so much love and thought into the gift (not to mention the money).

As I was sitting here I felt something warm going down my back so I asked Vince to look. Seems where they took the skin tag off started bleeding. He put a new bandage on. Right now I’m sitting here with an old towel (one that I don’t care if I get blood on) around me and a housecoat on

    eweadock – congrats!!!!

Rebecca – Athena always brings a ray of sunshine to my day

Been shopping the digital coupons today. Sometimes I think stores discriminate against older people. Lol

Kim - you have a giving heart. I have always known that about you. When we were in miItaly and moving so often, we missed out on a lot of family traditions. But, being from the Deep South, we give gifts of food. When people are ill, when there is a funeral, or if we just have something special or extra. I always made fudge, pralines and peanut brittle for friends and neighbors. So, my friend there are a lot of us who know your heart.

Lisa- sorry you had such a bad experience. I tell them two tries then get somebody else.
Worked in my yard after shopping. Cleaning up some of the things that got killed in the last freeze.
Flea- my dh lost his sense of taste and small when he had Covid. We got it very early and there were no meds at that time. It has been over two years and he still doesn’t smell well. Hope you’re getting yours back real soon.
Getting ready for a week a company. Hope I can keep up.

Have read and caught up, I’m trying to get some projects done so didn’t take time for notes.

I did want to say though, that is funny to me how different places handle Covid. Here we aren’t allowed to retest for 90 days after a positive. We are considered able to mingle with the world 5 days after a positive test or 24 hours after symptoms stop.

Friday -- it's a lovely day here, so we did a 50 km bicycle ride. :)

We stopped for lunch, did a little browsing in a favourite shop, and got a whole lot of fruit and veg at a fruit and veg market.

The mangos are starting to appear, so I got 4 and had one when I got home. Yummy! I'll have to eat them quickly - they're juicy!

Then I sat in the backyard with Rhody for a while.

Drkatiebug I hope that you feel better soon 💕 it took me about 2 weeks to recover. I lost my taste and smell for 6 months and still haven’t gotten my taste back on the front part of my tongue. Mostly taste in the back of my mouth. That’s been 10 months now! I am not vaccinated so that might make a difference. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

Pip your fur babies are so fortunate to have you 💕

I think in the UK it would be the normal thing, if someone is in a difficult situation, to send a card, give flowers, or perhaps bake a cake. A hostess gift might be wine, or flowers, or a flowering plant.
In France I have seen people walking around with huge baskets of fruit, all wrapped up in cellophane and bows, or flower arrangements or a plant. It is also traditional to take a patisserie shop fruit tart to a dinner party, or as a gift. One of those with the fruit all arranged in rows, and glazed. In the UK that doesn't happen.

It is so easy to give offence in a foreign country. Some young men from next door did a friend a big favour in France and she tried to give them money. They were shocked and offended. Having thought about it, she took round a fruit tart and a crate of beer. They were delighted! :p
