Dh isn't really angry but irritated all the time. Every little thing irritates him. Makes his bitter and hard to be around. And it is always someone elses action that cause it, in his opinion
Was a productive first half of the day- Got up and helped dh fix the catio to repair the damage from the raccoon . He won't be getting back in, hopefully.
Got laundry done
Cleared off the fridge and freezer in the garage. Dumped a bunch of stuff that was expired or the rats got into. Totally cleared off now except one box of crackers that has a trap set inside of it with some crackers behind it. We have bait out that is pet friendly but the rats don't eat it, we have peppermint oil we have sprayed all over, traps are the only thing that work and not great. I am so tired of them getting into stuff and making a mess. I think they are in there now because of all the remodeling they did next door.
Thankfully, the rain held off while we worked on the catio. Started again as we were finishing it up.
My DH is the same way. My father was an abusive alcoholic and my first DH didn’t drink but was abusive. My current DH never did anything physical to me in anger the last 30 years, but your description fits mine perfectly.

Trying to add some of you gals as friends. There first two profiles I went to were private.
I’m looking for new active and fabulous friends. Just getting started again after a long hiatus.0 -
Is there a trick to adding friends? I can’t seem to find where to do that. Is it the “invite” feature?0
-
@LovePBandJ -welcome to the group. Many in this group don't use the friend function-we just communicate through here. That being said-it's been so long since I used it, I can't remember! One of the other ladies will give you clear instructions. In the meantime-feel free to join the conversation.

@LovePBandJ , i tried to figure it out by inviting you and I got to a screen that asked for your email, so I am no help at all. I don’t think we should need emails! I am friends with some folks on here but not many. Like Ginny said, we mainly just visit this thread to keep up. The ones I am friends with must have invited me, because I am clueless. Or maybe it used to be easier. I’m so sorry I can’t help.1

Lisa and Heather, I think I found the MDMD website for more information:
___
Wonderful day today. Had breakfast with some new friends we met here at the old folks’ home. Then we went to Giant Crossword with Myra, which is a fun activity once a month where Myra stands up in front of the room with a giant crossword and reads the clues. Everyone shouts out answers. It’s a lot of fun.
After that we went and played with LillyBell and held Rory. Rory is starting to smile a little bit already. Is that possible? She is the sweetest armful. She has very long, very pretty fingers, and the peach fuzz on her head is a reddish-brown color. Eyes are still blue so far. She is very content. She is back up to birth weight, eating well, everything is just going great. It was pure bliss.
Then we came home and had a bite to eat, and I cleaned up the kitchen area and watered a few plants.
Dogs got to go outside for a walk 4 times today. It was bitter cold and windy, so I bundled up after having one nippy, eye watering session with the dogs. To quote Barbie,"There is no bad weather...”
With the exception of seeing Rory and LillyBell, the most fun thing that happened today is that I started my embroidery journal. I’ve done 2 cross stitch projects in my lifetime, and that is the sum total of my experience with needlework, so I am very excited - I am also going to learn to knit and crochet. There is a Yarn Arts group that meets weekly that was super helpful in making suggestions about getting started on my embroidery journal. Here is a photo of what I aspire to:

Got a little behind and caught up this morning. My sister who is less than a year older than me has been going through a terrible time. Her dh, who has had kidney disease for thirty years, fell in their bathroom Wednesday’ morning. She got 911 to take him to hospital. He is now on hospice and it is so sad. He went blind and doesn’t respond to anyone. They live in AL and I am trying to get flight information, hotel and car rental but I don’t know a date. She said the Celebration of Life will be the Saturday after he passes.
Every time the ne ringsI think it will be my sister saying he had passed. 😢

Trying to get to sleep about 2:30AM, glance over at the window that is always open because it is the entrance to the catio. That is NOT one of the cats. A racoon had tore a big whole in the side of the catio and was in there to get their food. He was peaking his nose into the bedroom, less than 4 feet away from me. I jumped up, closed the window then run outside. Three of the cats are out in the catio. I had to get the coon out and get the cats in then close the window. Thankfully all the cats ran in the house and did not escape from the big whole. After the food was brought in and the window closed, I watched that coon come back in at least three more times.
No catio time for the cats until we get it repaired.
Finally got to sleep a little after 4. Tea now but sure I will be switching to coffee soon.

Karen,
I have started several embroidery kits over the years and have never finished. The kits always had the picture pre-printed on the fabric.
Are you drawing a picture on the fabric before you embroider it?
Do you have a piece of fabric that says 2023?
I am rather interested in this idea. I am not sure I could have as many pictures as the piece you are showing, but I would try and design something using the quadrant format.
Best,

The plan for tomorrow is to do Prevention’s Fit in 10 DVD. After work went to WalMart but they didn’t have what I want. So since I get a free ice cream at Publix, I think I’ll go to another walMart and stop at Publix while I’m at it.
Jess left. Honestly, I thought she’d stay until tomorrow. Oh well…..
Allie – Carmine had a good friend, I can’t remember his name off the bat. But you haven’t talked about him lately. Carmine seemed so happy when they were together. What’s up?
Nicole – welcome! Come back often. We discuss everything under the sun, you will get some great ideas from the ladies here.
LeighAnn – congrats on getting that treadmill. You won’t want to leave it just sitting, so I know you’ll use it Lovely family.
KJ – good for you getting that spa day. Your daycare mother knows a good thing when she sees it
Lisa – congrats on the win.
Suebdew – how very sad for your sister!
Did a lot of running around. Stopped at Kohl’s because I’d gotten an email saying that I had $5 off. Only evidently, I used it a week before I got it. Then went to a Dollar General, they were closed, went to the Salvation Army, another Dollar General who didn’t have the water, to Publix to get my free ice cream, then WalMart since Vince needed more milk. Now home and church in a bit. Looks like I’m not going to get a walk in (boo)
lovepband – welcome.
Going to take a shower then get to bed. Have a great evening everyone.

A sad thing about many angry people is they are convinced that they are angry because of what's happening outside of them. They believe that they wouldn't be angry if their kids would behave or their wives would keep the house clean or they had more money or the right candidates would get elected. Thus they think they can't improve until everyone else shapes up.
Sometimes, the best thing is for a break in the relationship because something is just not working.
With my ex-husband, it got so that in our last year or so together, every time I walked into the apartment and saw him there, I felt angry. Neither of us would have said anything, nothing would have happened. I would open the door, see our apartment and him, and WHAM, I was instantly angry. I'd leave the apartment to go to work, school or a bicycle ride, and I was fine ... happy, relaxed, etc. I was out of the apartment quite a bit in that time because I don't like feeling angry. I wouldn't always express the anger, often it would remain internal creating stress, illness, etc.
When we separated, I knew it was the right move because one of the first times I walked into our apartment after he was gone, I realised I was not hit with a wave of anger. The anger was gone! And since then, I've rarely felt angry. And definitely not such a long, consistent anger.
Sometimes people also try to stay together for the children, when it would be in the best interests of the children if they separated and if each parent were happier ... or at least if the parent they remain with is happier.4 -
Beekeeping club this morning. As always, very good. We always pick up tips. Today we had a quick lesson on how to start a smoker and then we discussed (and were shown) one way to harvest honey.
Now I'm going to go out and move rocks around. With any luck, I'll have the dry stream itself pretty much finished. I will still need to do a bit of decorating and planting, but it will be good to have the stream done. So ... I'd better get to work.

M - a very dear friend of mine from college got a divorce. I was shocked she did, and that's putting it mildly. One time she was in Philly on business and I met her there. We were discussing how she and I were the only two from our college class that was still married to our first husband. When she got divorced, her daughters said to her "well, it's about time".
Just viewed my W-2 online from BK. Is Vince ever mad!!! Seems they didn't withhold any federal tax. I'm sure that I said to withhold at married with 0 exemptions. But for some reason, they didn't withhold any federal tax. Looks like we're going to have to pay. I could almost see the steam coming out of his ears....lol

13 Tell a random person they look "good" today- I don’t think I did this, unless my coworkers dog counts.
14 Tell us three amazing things that happened recently (you decide what "recently" means...lol) -
1 - it has been a very foggy week here this week, but because of it, the trees are absolutely beautiful.
2 - Kaitlyn told us tonight that her DH literally saved a life on his first shift as a paramedic.
3 - Rodger got hired on for winter work this year.
Machka - the meme about your home hit the spot with me today. I rearranged a few things on my walls to get more of the vibe I’m going for.
Kelly - I think it’s great you are using your certificate. In my opinion what you do day in and day out is enough to warrant a treat.
Lisa - yes my Mom is about 35 minutes from my in-laws. The hospital is about 10 from Mom.
Barbie - that is so true about angry people.
Allie - what a sweet photo of Miles.
Karen - also a sweet picture of LillyBell and Rorey.
My Mother embroidered so you had my curiosity piqued by the journal. What a great idea.
My DH is flying out Monday morning. His mother called this morning, the doctors have told her that his Dad is full of cancer. I just feel he needs to be home.
Our SIL offered some points to help out. When it’s time our daughter and I will travel together.
I hope my FIL goes fast and doesn’t suffer long, but that my DH gets a few days with him.
It will be hard, I haven’t had a funeral since my Father and my FIL was there to support me. It is the same hospital and probably the same funeral home.

Suebedo: (((hugs))) for your sister.
Karen Va: 🥰 The embroidery Journal.
Mid January Review: What have I noticed?
📍Many of my ‘new‘ habits are now automatic.
📍Too much sugary food makes me feel sluggish.
📍My weight hasn’t gone back up as much as I expected after Covid.
So pleased that the mornings are beginning to noticeably lengthen again. Not a fan of the short days in December and January.
Intentions for today:
♦️put laundry away
♦️write piece for Creative Writing for tomorrow
♦️look out fabric for embroidery journal
♦️declutter desk
♦️visit DED daughter
♦️solid habits
MFP - Making Friends:
🔹Go to <More> scroll down and select <Friends>
🔹Click on + at top right, select <invite using email/MFP username>
🔹Type MFP username in address bar
🔹Write who you are and how you know the person (NB: many people are not looking for random friends, and/or do not accept friend requests)
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.
🙋♀️ Miele failte to the newbies.

1 Sit in silence for three minutes... it's harder than you think. Does silently working in the garden count? Done! I sat silently for 7 minutes and prayed.
2 List 5 things using each of your senses. Right now? I can see my Christmas decorations, I can hear Christmas songs, I can taste my coffee, I can smell my coffee, and I can feel a comfortable temperature in the room.
3 Let go of at least 5 items in your house. I'm not in a downsizing or reducing mode so I've taken some lunch things to work, I will take an item to be mailed and another to be given to the people at work.
4 What was your favorite Christmas gift? (this year or ever). I can't tell you what my favourite Christmas gift this year is yet. It's a secret.
5 Move for at least 30 minutes today. Absolutely. It's a very rare day that I don't.
6 Share a goal you achieved last year. We completed the longest bicycle ride since my husband's accident and the fastest.
7 Slow down and savor one meal today. Mmmm ... pizza!
8 Who was your favorite teacher. My father. But I've had quite a few good teachers, in addition to him, over the years.
9 Create something today. I finished creating my first work-related project plan today.
10 What is your favorite lyric from a song. Difficult one given that I like so much music. But let's go with: "A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices"
11 Send a card/note to someone today. Do emails count?
12 What are you looking forward to in 2023? Can't tell you that! It's a secret ... same secret as my favourite Christmas gift.
13 Tell a random person they look "good" today. It's a bit late in the day to read this and didn't meet too many random people today ... or people in general. But I smiled at some horses and told Rhody he's gorgeous.
14 Tell us three amazing things that happened recently (you decide what "recently" means...lol)
One is a secret ... I should be able to tell you by the end of the month.
My skin cancer surgery went better than expected and all my margins are clear.
I've been able to hold my granddaughter.
15 Call or text someone you haven't talked to in at least a week. Well, I did email a couple people yesterday.16 What made you smile today
17 Take a photo of something you're grateful for
18 What material comforts are you most thankful for? You can make your list as long as you like...
19 Write a positive review for a company for goods or services you've received recently
20 Write down five things you like about yourself
21 Pay it forward in some way
22 What do you most desire in your life right now?
23 Go an entire day without complaining
24 What about you makes you special?
25 Spend time with a loved one
26 When was the last time you felt pure joy?
27 Hold the door for a stranger... or a friend
28 What fear have you overcome?
29 Engage in a random act of kindness of your own choice
30 When was the last time you laughed so hard you almost peed?
31 Now try to "meditate" (sit in silence) for ten minutes...
I think my dry stream is looking good. I still need to do the bottom end, where the dry pool will be.
I'm hoping to be able to work on it a couple evenings this week.
Exercise is coming along ...

Happy Sunday! I plan to spend time with DH and with new friends who live in apartments near me. There is a nice mix of retired teachers and retired farmers.
We have been getting to know one another. I am among the retired teachers. 😊7 -
Karen - I love that embroidery journal idea. Quite wonderful. I love looking at embroidery, and all kinds of textiles, but I have zilch patience. I hugely admire it though. I used to knit when I was younger, but again, patience is not my bag. I hope you will find it exciting to do and give us lots of 'in progress' photos!
One of the reasons I like watercolour painting is that I can complete it in one short session.
Still haven't had an invitation to see the apartment.
I wanted to go running this morning, but it was too windy. The palm tree outside our bedroom window is my weather vane and it's blowing around in the gusts. If it's windy in our garden, it's blowing a gale on the seafront!
Need to make a trip around the corner for milk and eggs. I want to make a frittata for dinner as we've been a bit meaty recently. I might sneak a couple of bars of dark nutty chocolate in as well. We like it after dinner.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -
SueBDew, thinking of you and your sister.
Tracey, the same for you and your Roger. I always hoped for swift resolutions, too, for me as well as those I love.
Machka - I know, on the binary thing for Egg's messaging! Not sure why the laptop keyboard only registered those two... she's not light on her feet, she's a very thumpy little kitty.
Karen - I love the embroidery journal! I haven't embroidered for 30 years, and now I don't have the patience, and can no longer see well enough to be able to embroider at that level. However, it makes me wonder whether I could sketch out and create my own quilt journal for my quilts. If you've ever seen an album quilt, that's kind of what I've got in mind, but quite a bit less detailed. I've got images of almost every quilt I ever made, and I think I could probably make a miniature version of each as a large quilt square, perhaps with a margin for information, when, for who, etc. I'll have to scribble that down for my design book. I do not need another project (I have six in progress already) but there's always inspiration out there.
Posting this, but will probably drop in later.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR5 -
Karen-never tried a piece like your picture. I have several I would like to finish (one of my retirement dreams!). I prefer counted cross stitch to stamped. I have never gone for my own design so I have only worked from a pattern. Interesting challenge. I think it is all a matter of patience and good lighting! Glad all well with newest family member! I think baby fingers are beautiful.
Tracey-prayers for your family as you walk through this life journey. While it will be a very sad occasion it will be good you get to see your mother.
Terri-thanks for posting the friend invite directions. I agree about not accepting just anyone. When I first joined MFP I wasn't very selective. Now I review the request and many I ignore (especially random men and/or folks with sexy/suggestive pictures). Sometimes I just shake my head!
LovePBandJ-out of curiosity I went to try Terri's friend directions-your profile is also private. That may be the default position unless individual's open them up?
Leighann-very cute kitties!
Debbie-I find the raccoon invasion disturbing. My two cats no longer go outside (their choice). Next door neighbor told me yesterday there was a nasty possum in his yard and the possum and dogs were having standoff-possum didn't want to back down. I haven't seen it but will keep a look out. We may need to contact animal control-hopefully he was just passing through from one cornfield to the other.
Running into church this am to see friend who's husband died recently. We have been together in praise team at early service for many years. Due to a variety of issues I am not regular there anymore (issues regarding some of pastor's actions), but since I will be leaving town this year-I would like to share some time with friend.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio6
