Rebecca: Congrats on the good news!
Heather: Hope you DH is able to reduce his stress!
Machka: Enjoyed the pictures!
Ugh! I am in a quandry. The mobility device company is about to bill us $300.00 for six months on the 17th. We don't use this device anymore. This is the device that will call for for help if you fall. The trouble is it has extra, accessory pieces. Cheap, plastic pieces that we never used.
I had put these pieces in a freezer bag and put them in a banker's box. I need to return these pieces with the device. I think it is a scam. I am not sure they re-use these pieces. Anyway I have torn through the banker's boxes of stuff we have and the accessory pieces are a no show.
I am so angry I lost these pieces. I wonder how much they will charge me for them. And then I might have to pay the $300 if I don't have the main device returned down to FLA in time. I am exhausted and too tired to look for the pieces any further. I am tearing the house apart. Ugh...what a Sunday! I am fairly tense about it, but am relaxing as I type this out to you all!!
Hope you are all doing well!
Best,
Rosemarie from Georgia13 -

I bought two machines- one to transfer 8mm to sd card and the other is to transfer slides. I have all of my grandmother's slides. I went through most of the slides but got frustrated with the movies and never did anything with them. I need to get back and try again. I am hoping one of the unmarked movies is of the firefalls in Yosemite. I remember seeing them in real life and also watching the home movie at my grandparents house.

This app also does negatives and I think I read that it did slides.
It’s pretty amazing. The subscription is 100.00 for the year here.

Rosemarie - my DD swears some things go to a different deminsion and then somehow return. Hope what you need shows up.
Rebecca - congrats on the coming DGC. Hope the pregnancy goes smoothly.
Went to church this morning, sang in choir even though I missed practice on Wednesday. DD and I bought some seeds yesterday and are planning raised bed gardens for vegetables. Our potatoes did really well last year, carrots not so much and the slugs got all the peas. We had a late freeze last year and got no apples but hopefully we will get some this year. Blueberries are starting to bud too.would be nice if things warmed up a bit.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA5 -

Nope. No retirement pay. He will get to attend college on the Navy's dime, and they get a housing allotment when they attend school. Plus there's lots of grants they can qualify for. But medical insurance, he can go to VA hospital but that's a headache to deal with, and he can't shop on base at the commissary or anything. It is a sad thing, but unless he makes 1st Class Petty Officer this year or next year, he's out early before his 20.

Beth - when we were home we dug through old photos for a slide show. We found an app called Photomyne
What it does for old photos is remarkable. It is a subscription that we chose not to pay for at the time but will be soon to go through some photos here.
The top photo is an original of my FIL and husband and the second is how the app fixed it.

Tracey ... that is incredible! Thank you for sharing the information. I have a lot of photos that look like the first one!

I got three kinds of the Christmas hard candy when I helped at the food program. They reminded mom and i of my grandma(her mom) She always had a bowl of that candy around. I got mini ribbon candy, filled hard candy and the "cut rock" candy. I am limiting myself to a few pieces at a time and just suck on them so they last. I am sure I am eating more than I should

New here. (Returning user from 2010, 2012, 2016) Dec 2022 finally stood up and said enough! Hit 235lbs. Quit caffeine, quit smoking (picked it back up during pandemic 🤦🏻♀️). Today, 53, mom of 10yo, currently at 221.
Just back to work after being a SAHM, working in the school and loving my new energy but I am just not losing any weight. Losing inches but not lbs. Doing 30-45 mins of cardio a day and 30 mins of yoga.8 -
Rosemarie – I do hope you find those pieces soon. How exasperating!
Tina – keeping you in my thoughts. I couldn’t help think of FIL. He used to do this to MIL, she’d be painting the ceiling and he’d say “you missed that spot”.
Ycatsss – welcome!

Hi Everyone 🙂
I haven’t posted here since the middle of last year. I’m making some progress, since. Walking more, being more active. Also trying to be more mindful with my logging, food and eating. I‘ve have many slip ups but, baby step.. progress along the way.

Best to you in 2023 💐

The book is Legacy ... I like the ones with a bit of mystery attached.
That app sounds interesting. I might have to look it up for some of my older photos.
Also, when my husband had a heart attack in May 2021, I hesitated for a while about calling the ambulance because it didn't present like what I expected.
For about a couple months prior to the heart attack, he had been less and less energetic and wasn't keeping up with things ... and generally acting a little bit unwell. I figured it was his brain injury. Then, a few times when he exercised a bit more than usual, he said his stomach wasn't feeling well, and once he stopped an indoor ride to throw up.
We went for a 50 km bicycle ride and he was irritable and tired, and said his stomach wasn't well through the ride. When we finished the ride, we just stayed in the parking lot for a bit because he thought he might throw up. As we drove through town, I asked if he wanted to stop at the hospital, but he said no, he felt a bit better. However, not long after we got home, his stomach was upset again and he did throw up.
I was thinking he got dehydrated on the ride or something until he started complaining about pain in his upper abdomen. Then I rang Triple 0.
Meanwhile, my stomach often gets upset and I feel nauseated because my digestive system is really slow and things back up.

Of course, the actual quote is slightly different ...
“Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel; and away she goes, the picture of free, untrammeled womanhood.”

Hard candy is nice because it helps with portion control. I buy sugar free jolly ranchers, and lemon drops for husband and I.👍🏻
