Bellatrix you have come to the right place. This supportive and understanding group of women will listen , understand, and respond. Please come back. Husbands and kids are not a sufficient support system. We have all been where you are. There is a solution

Lanette—DH & I are ok. Our son is handling closing up our home. He has a big load to get the inside furniture, outside furniture, and items in storage spaces. He deserves high praise for all he is doing. I thought our daughter was going to help him but she has had a work related problem. I haven’t heard from either of them recently. ❤️

Belinda LOL! It took my Roomba a whole year after the passing of my Sara to quit filling up the bag every 2 weeks running 6 days a week. She has been gone 2 years now. She was a Great Pyrenees and Golden retriever mix. Mandy was our German Shepard. She has been gone 3 years. I so understand the hair bunnies!!!! They destroyed my Shark vacuum.
Expectations.......I expect coworkers to help pick up slack if I am incapacitated. I expect my coworkers to do the job correctly when I am not there. I expect that my coworkers will get all the information on units and customers. I expect coworkers to care about their jobs and customers. I expect coworkers to take pride in their job. I apparently need to adjust my expectations. I have work to do. I corrected improperly inputted repair orders. Put in information that they didn't put into computer on units both sold and in for repair. Now need to total invoices that they didn't even attempt to do for the two days I was absent. I knew this would happen, yet get frustrated when I come back to have to fix stuffs. This is why vacations can be stressful. Just needed to get that off my mind.
I have washed and changed the bedding, scrubbed DH's bathtub, and caught up with you ladies.
I reckon I need to go help DH with some stuffs, then get some work done.
Love you All!

I worked for two brothers for twenty+ years. When I would go on vacation, one brother that worked the business full time learned that they should put items on my desk in a certain way for me to make it through it quickly when I returned. The other brother who worked another job full time and just bothered us occasionally, would want to just toss stuff in my door (not literally, but close). Brother one won, he would lock the other one out of my office so he couldn't mess stuff up. Just thought it would give you a chuckle.

Have sorted some more stuff, done a bit of dusting and washed bedding and towels. Went for my walk-made it around 1.75 miles-way more tired than that when I returned. The sun and the crisp air felt wonderful. Going to make bed, iron up the few things in the basket and then find a sit down item to do that doesn't require intense thought.
Lisagoing to the store to buy something easier instead of putting up with frustration is so something I would do (and have done). Glad it seems like Corey is showing improvement. In terms of care taking-just ask him every so often if you can get him . . . . a drink, a sandwich -doesn't have to be Florence Nightingale-just enough to let him know you are there and can help-think about what he would do for you.
Debbie-glad you are on the mend-whatever it is you got got you good. I hate bathroom dashes.
Belinda-welcome to the group.
Kylia-you might want to try out Okie's idea. They probably figure since you always fix it it isn't any big deal. It's very hard for me not to step in and fix-usually because of other consequences. I am getting betting and pushing back and making others come up with the steps and if I have to give them some of the answers I will, hold them accountable, but then politely point out why I believe they should have been able to figure it out given their position, etc.
Think I'm rested enough to make it to the basement and bring laundry up.

Good evening ladies!
Today I ate 1236 calories and then walked 40 mins for a calorie deficit of 20. So a neutral day, like most Sundays lately.
I've been babying my knee, wearing the brace. I can feel it pinching on the stairs from the exercises yesterday. So I hope that was the right level of difficulty.
I was evaluating room for an exercise bike as I walked, and it would work in my corner if we got rid of the coffee table that we don't use. I have to talk to my parents about that. An alternative would be to get rid of my knitting, or my camping equipment, or something else. I can see this turning into a big basement clean out.

I am up a couple lbs. I am managing the best I can. Youngest son will soon be stateside and I yearn to connect with him. It just shakes me to my core. On the outside I am cool as a cucumber, but inside I am in turmoil. I am not depressed, but I am feeling a great sadness. Much that I do is just a distraction to not go to a place that I can't get up from. Maybe I will video chat with eldest sister tonight.💖

Bella- We have all been there. For some exercise helps lots, for others medical intervention has helped, for others just the support of these ladies has helped, for others it takes all of this. Keep coming back. Our spouses support us the best they can, but sometimes it takes more. Keep coming back!
Helped DH move stuff from garage attic to barn loft. Apparently the ceiling in the garage is sagging. So we moved out the heavy stuff. Wouldn't you know I got my pinky crunched. It is better after icing but still tender. At least the heavy stuff has been moved so that we can get the ceiling lifted now.
Okie and Ginny- I love your ideas. Unfortunately, the customers are the ones inconvenienced when others don't step up. Their belief is the old way worked forever so there is no reason to change. The customers actually appreciate that we can find their unit without a claim check, know how old their unit is, know how many hours they have put on the unit since last service, and what parts they need if they forget to bring in their numbers with them. New stuff/changes are always a struggle with this family whether in business or home. (It did take my DH 15 years to ask me to marry him!) Some days I just get tired of trying so hard. Hugs!
I still haven't gotten any work done. Oh well, will wait until tomorrow.

Women 50+ Friends—I have no idea how to fix the mess from MFP. I would love your help to fix it if possible. I hope things can go back to the way it has always been and return my ID. Katla & Katla 49 are both okay. I’d love to see Schooner’s photo again. I don’t have the skill to fix it the problem.

Oh wow ... thank you so much!
There are many times I don't feel any of that ... where I'm wondering what in the world I'm supposed to do next. I give a lot of credit to my parents and grandparents... their genes and the way they brought me up.
Unfortunately, one of the things I couldn't do was have a biological child.

I have had this bad knee for so long it might be time to get more serious about working on it. Would the bike work okay on carpet with cement underneath? It might settle into a dent in the carpet and stabilize that way.

If you get one, just make sure you can set it up correctly, or you will have more knee problems.

Lowering expectations helps ward off disappointment.
Have your coworkers been trained in the new system?
Is there any way the new system can be modified to be more like how they work?

Covid vaccines this morning - so far, arm is a little sore; we’ll see what tomorrow brings.
Just got home from spending about 4 hours with LillyBell and Rory and their mom & dad. Lillybell is 3 and Rory is 8 weeks old. Both doing great. We cuddled and played while mom & dad straightened up the house and got dinner. They swear it was helpful. lol they’re brainwashed
I adore “lounging Miles”...so stinkin’ cute!
Super tired, guess I’ll turn in.

Hey Ladies!
Kim: Oh yeah Rafiq will be up and walking day two! My mother (the retired stern nurse) may need to come and stay if he doesn’t cooperate! Seriously though, he truly has been fortunate to keep his body in great condition. The knee issues stem from him being a tree surgeon with lots of climbing. The pressure of driving the stakes into the trees for over 40 years took their toll on him.
Michele: I have wondered about the same and the “herd mentality” theory. I don’t know if there is an absolute answer. Kind of like the flu its contagious and floating in the air.
Belinda: Noom is great for a mind reset, but it can’t replace the value of Pals here!
Machka: Thanks for the link! The book is about 8 inches thick. I feel so intimidated all I could do was ruffle the pages! I’ll get with the program next week for sure.
Lisa: Your saying I’m a strong woman made me feel tingly inside. I think you, more than many others. know that PTSD is not just caused from going to war. I have PTSD from growing up in a dysfunctional family. Many others have had other circumstances that have resulted in them having it as well. However, before I wax eloquently on that theme, I want you to encourage your daughter to participate in all the counseling the VA has to offer with or without her husband. I can’t tell you how much it helped me individually as well as us as a couple. If there are local veterans groups she may want to get involved with them as well. Sometimes it just helps to be able to tell someone “My husband acted like a nut last night.” PS, I think its great you know how to use a French Press!
Night Y'all!

Felt up to going out and did some shopping. Planned on two stops but was feeling well enough so stopped at Grocery Outlet- dh says it feels funny to go out shopping and not stop there. We did get some good bargains like usual. Got some cute Christmas cookie/pancake making kits that were 90% off that I can repurpose. The mini frying pan my daycare girl will love, same with the mini spatula and towel that was in another one. the Little cookie cutters are fun in the playdough. The sprinkles and syrups will be used in other baking projects.
Got some Bertoli Pesto for .97cents. Two in the fridge(one regular and trying one spicy) and two in the freezer, Terra Sweet Potato crinkle cut chips- 20oz bag(Costco size) for 1.97. Bought two. They are good. I wonder if my daycare girl will eat them- doubt it.
My main, planned stop was our local Mexican grocery store to stock up on avocados- little ones 3/$1 so got a dozen and will put them in the fridge as soon as the start to ripen at all plus got some fresh fish and shrimp for soup tomorrow night. Rainy and cold so perfect weather for it plus I can make it ahead in the pressure cooker and have it ready for the guys when they want it and ready for me after I get home from class.

I've been thinking about PTSD recently too ...
The 5-year anniversary of my husband's accident is coming up in less than a month. The other day, I was walking along and just casually thinking about that, when all of a sudden I felt all the feelings I felt when I got the call, and in the first couple days hit me like a wave. I became quite dizzy and felt like I was going to throw up. I had to stop walking, hang onto something and do my box breathing.
And then I wondered ... could I be experiencing PTSD? Anniversary-induced PTSD?
Perhaps slightly related ... there's an outfit in my closet that I was wearing on the day of the accident. I've never worn it since. But when I'm choosing an outfit, I spot the skirt now and then and quickly flip past it.
M in Oz10 -
Machka- coworker picked the system without input from me. She doesn't use it for her book keeping, only used for front counter and customers. It isn't complicated. There was no training for the system. I asked for 3 weeks for any information about it before it was installed so that I could learn, nope, she didn't even give me the name of the system. Once it was installed I found you tube and company videos to figure it out. I wrote out instructions, simplified and step by step. Search first, then input customer info...name, phone number, address, and email. Add their equipment model/serial number, engine number and hours if riding equipment. Basic. If ordering parts, put in computer as a backorder to help keep inventory straight. It takes a little time up front but takes less time in future. She just doesn't see the value of all of that information as she rarely works the front counter unless I am gone. The minute I am there she rarely comes out of office or leaves early. You are correct, lowering expectations would lessen disappointment.
Thank you for taking time to answer back. Yes, could be PTSD as that was a life changing experience. I still can't watch shows with eye injuries. Makes me nauseous. Hugs and Deep breaths help. It has gotten easier most of the time. I do have to implement some of the other ladies strategies when dealing with DH when he is having a bad day due to lessened eye sight. Those days have gotten less, but do spring up at odd times.
Back to work tomorrow. 😒 The upside are most of my customers are great!
❤️
